. Solo . Growth Prompt Response Featuring: Xbalanque TL;DR: Kay answers a screaming girl's plea only to find a wounded man. The blood sets something off in him and instead of disgust he feels joy. Eventually the girl snaps him out of it and he runs to get help, directing an Angel man back to the scene. Kay heads home after that, not wanting to face that frightening level of malicious joy.
Entry:
(( This RP contains a lot of blood, guts and gore. You have been warned. ))
"HELP! S-SOMEBODY, PLEASE....HELP!"
It was a loud, desperate cry from a female voice that was completely hitched with tears. First she had let out a shriek of horror, followed shortly by the plea for somebody, anybody, to help her. Kay had been on his way home from the post office when he had heard the girl screaming for help, and immediately the concerned boy ran over to investigate. It didn't take him long to spot the creator of the noise; like he suspected it was a little girl, not much older than he was but with bright blonde hair and very blue eyes, long pointed elven ears poking from the shining locks. The girl was on her knees beside a man who was lying on the ground in a heap. From a distance he looked okay...but the closer the Shaman got, the more he could see the blood; the more he could smell the blood. With a gasp he rushed over quicker than before. But before he could get to the man, the girl was on her feet, throwing herself at him and clutching at the white dress shirt Switch had made him wear.
She clung to him sobbing for help, her clothes and skin smeared with blood and tears. On instinct the boy held her close, one arm gripping around her small frame while the other looked over her shoulder, staring at the lump of a man on the cold ground. Kay muttered something to the girl and she let him go, both of them returning to the apparently wounded man, gently rolling him onto his back.
What he saw was horrifying.
Luckily he was still breathing and gasping, but it didn't look like he had too much time left. The man was a mess; it looked like a creature had gutted him, sliced him across the midsection and up to parts of his chest with four sharp claws. His shirt was torn and bloody, the wounds a deep red with the fresh blood that spilt. Kay couldn't tell for sure, but...he thought he could see the white of bone across the man's chest, or the dark off-coloured hues of the internal organs. All Kay could do was to stare down at the man, his red eye wide and his mouth lax. It was hard to describe how he felt in that moment, but the easiest way to explain it would be that something in him just...shifted.
He had been bitten countless times before. Countless times, blood had been spilt around him from an accident here or there...but this was the first time he could remember what it smelt like. What it looked like...what it felt like. Something deep within him shifted away from the repulsion and slid precariously towards...glee. The copper smell of blood, the warm substance, that consistency, that particular shade of red...it was...almost exciting.
A wide, malicious grin split his lips, showing off his fangs; his red eye darkened, turning as crimson as the substance that enthralled him.
The girl was saying something to him, apparently unaware of his grin; but he honestly couldn't hear her. His body seemed to move on it's own accord, working to take off that white shirt of his, bundling it up and pressing down on the wounds to try and contain it. Kay didn't know what he was doing. All he knew was that there was blood. Fragrant, Warm, Beautiful blood.
Beside him, the girl was still crying, her smaller frame shuddering with the weight of her tears. She leaned against him, hugging his arm and buried her face into his bare shoulder while he continued to put pressure on the wound. Whatever it was, be it the girl that clung to him or his own sense of right and wrong, that glee faded back into the repulsion, and soon after came a wave of nausea. Coughing, he bowed his head, his grin fading and his eye returning to it's normal shade.
"S-stay here." He ordered the girl weakly, detaching his arm from her grip and having her press down on the bloody shirt the way he had been. "I...I'll go get help, I promise." Once the girl had the shirt like he did, he got up and ran off down the street; the girl seemed to trust him as she didn't call after him anything more than a simple 'Hurry Back, Please!'.
Along the way, the Shaman boy ran into another adult; a creature with angelic wings. With a pleading look, he pointed back the way he came, murmuring something about somebody needing help, and fast. The angel's face narrowed in worry and it took off, speeding towards the girl and the wounded man.
Kay watched the angel leave, and debated. Should he go back and potentially feel...that...again? Or should he go home, and pretend it never happened? Honestly, that enthralling feeling frightened him; someone should not be that happy over seeing blood. Never. His stomach twisted, and in a split second decision he turned and ran home, whispering a 'Sorry' that the girl would never hear.

. Journal . Kay Came Home... Written By: Switch TL;DR: This is what happened once Kay came home.
Entry:
So...Kay came home. Absolutely shaken up. I've never, ever seen Kay like this before...it's actually very scary. His eye was wide, he looked terrified...but there was a bit of him that looked...eager? To top it off, he was covered in blood!
He told me what happened...apparently he came across someone who was bleeding, tried to help them...but felt...off? Poor Kay sounded so confused and broken, but he told me that he wanted the blood, he wanted to touch the organs and...just...ugh. The things he told me he felt just creeped me the ******** out. I didn't think Kay had a dark side to him...and ********, it's dark.
Once he was done talking I made him take a shower, then we watched some funny movies to calm him down. The poor boy as practically glued to my side, and he fell asleep very quickly.
I managed to get him to bed (holy crap is he heavy now), and once I was sure he was out...I called the hospitals. I needed to know what happened. I just couldn't let it go. One of them heard about the man.
He didn't make it.
...I'm never telling Kay.
It's for the best.
I hope.

. Solo . Growth Response Featuring: Xbalanque, Switch TL;DR:
Entry:
The morning after the incident, Kay didn't wake up. He slept through the whole day. Nothing could wake him, it seemed. Switch tried, Kale tried, even Quinn (though under his breath) offered to bite him, saying something about how it might wake the lazy lout up; If they had heard Quinn's offer, they definitely didn't acknowledge it. Nothing seemed to work. He was alive of course, and obviously still breathing, but just...sleeping.
It wasn't until the morning after that Kay woke up, sitting up with a content yawn and stretching his arms above his head. He was alone in the bed, but that was normal; Quinn had this thing where he had to be last to bed and first to rise. Kay didn't mind, he actually found it amusing! Quinn was the most fun he'd ever had in a sibling...ever!
Kay rubbed at his eyes and went to swing his legs over the bed...and his feet hit the ground a lot harder than they should have. Blinking his eye in surprise, he looked down and saw...some strange bands on his one leg. Eye widening, he held out his arms. They were bigger, longer...and also had markings? Grinning, he pressed his hands down his chest and stomach, noticing all the new markings and the new shape he seemed to have.
Standing up, he laughed. Loudly. The world was slightly smaller! Everything was a little lower! This was...totally awesome!
"Hey, Na! Kale! Quinny! Check it!" He laughed as he bound out of his room, skidding to a halt in the kitchen; his pajama bottoms were much too small now, but at least he was covered! All he could do was grin at the surprised expression on his Guardians' faces and the mild look of irritation that was settled on his brothers' faces; Tek's was expected, but Quinn's...had a bit of jealousy in it?
"Oh wow, Kay! You grew!" Switch said happily, moving around the table to give her oldest a hug.
"Older but not wiser." Came a snarky reply from the shark boy, a comment that was given a look for but mostly ignored to instead celebrate the sudden growth spurt.

. Roleplay Log . Attempted Kidnapping, Pt 2 Featuring: Xbalanque, Gera, Roxy Link: NA - Done over AIM TL;DR:
Log:Like Kay, the guy didn't seem phased by the tongue that licked at his hand. He had spared a glance over his shoulder to see if the brother was following...and to his surprise, he was following a LOT faster than he thought! In a panic he tried to speed up, but the little girl was added weight; the brother was closing in fast.
Kay finally got the food and ice cream, and was just on his way out. But something was wrong! He couldn't see Roxy or Gera anymore! Maybe they'd just moved? Exiting through the store's front doors, he spotted Gera who was half running, half roller blading like the devil himself...but more so he saw who Gera was chasing; a big man who, when he turned to look over his shoulder, gave Kay a glimpse of blonde hair. Roxy's hair. That man...had Roxy? Gasping, Kay dropped the food and ran, already sprinting towards them even before the food hit the ground.
Roxy struggeled when the tongue didn't phase the man she tried the next best thing...biting him. It was hard...her teeth really couldn't get a good grasp on the palm of his hand...but she continued to flail and kick and just want to be let go. Tears began to gather in her eyes as desperation and fear began to set in.
Gera's mind was blank with emotion or thought besides the one phrase that continued to engulf him soully. Protect Roxy. The man was taking her, The man was hurting her...the blue viens on his body glowed feircely as he took extra measures to catch up. The roller blades worked wonders though he raised his right arm the fingers melted and then the entire arm shuddered and shifted until it had shifted into something that closely resembeled a large hammer.
Gera was honing in and the kidnapper heard him; suddenly this plan wasn't as easy as they had hoped! Panick set in and he jostled the little girl in his arms, doing his best to both keep the girl AND stay away from the brother. Another quick glance back and he saw the hammer; with a gasp the man faltered, his boot catching uneven ground once his attention wandered. The big guy stumbled, losing his footing but managing to stay standing; there was no way he could outrun the brother now...
They'd had a head start, but Kay was fast on his feet; he continued to sprint after them, closing in and seeing the man stumble, seeing Gera's hand become a hammer. That...was not good. Already breathing hard, Kay pushed himself to go faster, quickly catching up.
Gera reacted purely on instinct. He was a golem. A soldier. His very essence and being to serve and protect whom he was left with. Roxy was in trouble...and it was his job to get her back safe and sound. When the man stumbeled Gera struck. It didn't occur to him right away..that he probably should of made sure he could get Roxy away from him before he hit but it was too late now as he swung his hammer like fist, low...to take out the mans legs.
Roxy caught sight of her brother, though instead feeling relieved she felt fear. Gera had a look on his face she had never seen before. It was terrifying. Like a souless monster coming at them. She wanted to scream, but her mouth was covered. No longer trying to get away from just the strange man but Gera as well.
Gera's hammer hand did what he wanted it to; the man yelled in pain, crumpling to his knees on the ground, tearing the pants he'd been wearing and seriously tearing up his knees at least. His hand had dropped from Roxy's hand to steady himself on the ground; yes, this plan was a horrible, horrible idea.
Kay yelled something unintelligable (but probably profane) when Gera knocked the kidnapper to the ground. What the hell was he doing? The man still had Roxy! Luckily the man didn't fall forward, just to his knees...but still, that was too close! The Shaman boy caught up now that the kidnapper wasn't moving, skidding to a halt in front of them, back tracking a bit but staying on the OTHER side of the man from Gera; there was no way he was getting in the way of that boy!
His first priority; get Roxy out of there. Keeping an eye on Gera, Kay leaned in and slid his hands under the captured girl's arms; luckily the kidnapper was quick to give her up, and the moment he could, he pulled the blonde girl against his tattooed and scarred chest, holding her close and backpeddling away.
There was NO way he was going any closer again.
Gera didn't seem to figure it was enough, something close to rage on his face as he brought back his hammer hand again to strike once more. He aimed at the man's arm whilst his other hand reached out to grab onto him as if to make sure he couldn't get away. He had a crushing grip..the hammer was probably overkill, but he solely was driven to exterminate the threat.
Roxy was never so happy to have Kay grab her, she gave a choking cry as tears welled in her green eyes and she pressed herself tightly to Kay's chest, there was the sickening sound of bone breaking and she shrieked covering her ears from the sound.
"Ma..make him stop .." She sobbed shaking her head.
The man screamed again, and once the girl was out of his arms he was trying his best to get away form the crazy golem. He was in too much pain to talk or plead, but the noises he made suggested he was trying his hardest.
Kay held Roxy against him, holding an arm around behind her head so she couldn't turn to look. Sure he doubted she would, but just in case. He flinched when the bone cracked, but...but there was something else there. That sound, the blood shattering...his red gaze dropped, finding fresh blood on the ground. His breathing grew more laboured and not from the running; blood. Glorious, beautifu----
Roxy's shriek brought him back, the dark part of himself snapping away, his head instantly clearing. What? Oh yes, Gera. The Shaman held Roxy protectively against him, his attention snapping to the golem. "Gera. Stop." He said with as much authority as he could muster. "That's enough, stop. Now."
It seemed when blood splattered onto the golem the blue glow slowly faded to turn red. Like real viens it seemed to stain him, and with the eyes of something other than Gera took another strike at the man his hammer changing mid swing into something that eerily appeared to look like gargatuian claws. The tips sank into the man's thigh and side and he was about to basically shred the man when the order seemed to still him.
The red glow was still there...his fingers partially in the man but he was trembling with the effort to not destroy the target.
Roxy could smell the blood and she gave a small cry not looking at her brother as she was currently too afraid of him to handle gazing at her normally very placent brother. "Stop...stop stop s...top.." she sobbed over and over into Kay's chest.
As if unable to resist the plea and the order the golem finally pulled his fingers out allowing them to shift back to their normal form and he released the man from his other grasp. Blood dripped from his fingers it was splattered all over his form...and he was still glowing...that errie red.
That smell. Kay found himself uttering a tiny groan, wanting so badly to poke around in that amazing wound, to touch some of the organs inside. He wanted to make that man suffer in the name of experiencing that fresh blood. But, once more, it was Roxy's sobbing that pulled him back from that dark pit; making her stop crying was more important than enjoying the blood.
Gera seemed to be responding...he wasn't normal yet, but he was close, very close. "I have her, Gera. Roxy is safe, you don't need to do this anymore." He expressed, trying his hardest not to look at the blood, or to not breathe through his nose to smell it. "Turn around, Gera. Walk away." Kay ordered, wanting to get them all as far away from this guy as they could, as fast as they could.
"I will follow you, With Roxy" He assured his rather frightening friend.
Gera shifted as if unsure but nodded his head and then turned, he hadn't killed the man...but he was certianly going to lose his life if he didn't seek immediate medical attention. Still Gera moved away a blood splattered mess on his form.
Roxy continued to mewl into Kay's chest, wanting it to be over. Her eyes were tightly shut as she gripped onto him. Why had Gera done that? Gera had never hurt anyone..ever. So why did he hurt that man so badly?
Kay stepped around the bleeding and dying man, flashing back to the events just prior to his growth; the only difference was, that man didn't deserve it, but this man did. Besides, they couldn't alert the hospital without being questioned themselves...and they didn't have a phone on them. Gritting his teeth he headed after Gera, keeping a safe distance behind him just in case.
"Shh, Roxy, Shh...It's okay." Kay murmured to the poor girl, hugging her and petting her hair, even planting a little kiss on the top of her head. Poor thing...poor, poor thing. "I'm here, Gera saved you, it's over." Still, he couldn't fathom how scary Gera must have been to her...
His gaze dragged over to the blood splattered form of Gera. They couldn't go back to the shop like this...not with Switch and Trin around! What should they do...? "We have to get you cleaned up, Gera...I think we should take a detour to the lake." Because the bath house was much too dangerous; too many questions.
The red glow on Gera's body was fading and when he had returned to his normal blue glowing self he looked...dazed. He looked down at his still blood covered hands and then seemed to be examining himself.
"I...went too...far.." he stated simply, a matter of fact sort of tone with a tinge of regret held in his soft voice.
Roxy trembeled again her sobbing finally coming to a conclusion she merly hung onto Kay the occasional sniffle coming here and there. She didn't look at her brother, nor react when he spoke. She was tired andher mind just wanted to obliterate the images she had just seen.
"Way to far." Kay agreed, sounding exhausted. "I understand why you did it though...you were protecting your sister." It didn't excuse the fact that he essentially killed a man, but it was easier to accept the outcome when there was a noble caused attached to it. Seeing Gera was back to his normal colour, Kay wandered a little closer, shifting Roxy in his arms to free one of them, patting the golem's shoulder. His arm quickly returned to hold the girl, and the Shaman started heading them through back alleys and towards the water front.
"We need to get you cleaned up before Na or Auntie Trin see you." He murmured, still petting Roxy's hair.
Gera looked to his hands again before he looked to Kay.
"I...did wrong...I " he sounded confused, as if he coudn't understand why he regretted what he did. That man was hurting Roxy...taking her away. He deserved to be hurt. "...Kay...did I..kill him?" He asked the word kill geting stuck in his throat as he walked behind Kay slowly plodding along like a half beaten mule.
Roxy setteled into Kay's arms the petting and the warmth of his body and the sheer exhaustion of crying now causing her to fall asleep in his arms.
Kay didn't say anything right away, instead he looked down at the sleeping toddler, shifting her very carefully so she could use his shoulder as a pillow. He still held her close and he still pet her hair, though it was more to make himself feel better now, than to make her calm down. She was sleeping, after all.
"He was still breathing when we left." Kay said slowly. Gera did not kill him, but if the man died, Gera certainly had a huge part in it. Soon they were at the lake, and after looking around he nodded towards the water. "Go clean yourself off, Please."
Gera listened as the moved along, with his sister sleeping like a rock so heavy her slumber even his rumbeling foot falls didn't seem too bother her. When they arrived at the lake he looked at the water and then to Kay.
"Still...breathing..." Gera echoed as he nodded his head and then moved into the lake. He began to wash the blood off of himself and once clean he emerged out of the water and stood allowing himself to drip dry.
"Kay...I ..scared her.." He stated simply as he looked at his sleeping sibling.
Kay stayed behind a bit, looking down at Roxy...which eventually made him look down at his feet. All that hard running and that skidding to a halt did a number on his feet, and he only now realized how scraped up they were, noticing the flecks of his own blood. Well...damn. He couldn't clean it off in the lake, he'd need to move Roxy...and setting sand stuck in there wasn't a priority of his. Maybe they could swing by his house?
"You did, very badly." Kay agreed, shifting Roxy again to brush a dark finger against her puffy skin, red from all her crying. "She'll be okay, but perhaps you should be careful for a bit..." He suggested, brushing some tears from her eyes before holding her with both arms once more.
Gera nodded his head solemnly, it wasn't what he has wanted to do...the lst thing he wanted was for Roxy to be scared of him.
"I am...bad?" he inquired further noticing how Kay looked down at his own feet before he looked to the lake.
"Go in the lake..I can help you wash...and you can hold Roxy.." he offfered pointing to the lake feeling like it was also his fault for Kay's cut up feet.
"You're not bad." A tiny smile twitched onto his lips. "Your intentions were good you just...went a little too far." Hopefully, there wouldn't be a next time. The Shaman looked between the golem and the water, then shook his head no. "It's alright, it's just my feet...besides I'd rather not get sand in it. We can swing by my house though, I can wash and get shoes on or something." He stepped back a bit, nodding in the direction his house would be in. "You can help me there, fair enough?"
Gera nodded his head slighlty much like a beaten dog with its tail between his legs he would do whatever Kay asked of him."Yes...to your home...then...take Roxy home...." He murmured as he moved towards Kay. "Could carry...you if you wanted.."
Kay chuckled a bit, stepping closer and clamping a hand down on Gera's shoulder. "It's okay, Gera. You did what you thought you had to, you saved Roxy's life." He left it there for a little bit, hoping Gera would get it, and then let go to guide them to his house. "I can still walk, don't worry about me...I might need help with the bandages though." He didn't know what Roxy would do if he put her down and she woke up alone. The young man lead them to his home, peering inside the luckily empty place.
Gera looked at the hand on his shoulder and he nodded his head simply. Kay thought he had done the right thing. He just had to remember..to not get carried away next time. The truth was he hadn't been thinking when he attatcked the man....all he thought was to save Roxy the target had to be taken out.
He walked behind and when they got to the house he nodded his head again. "Yes I can help with that." He murmured slowly.
Roxy though shifted in Kay's arms murmuring and then yawning as if slightly drugged.
"..Kway?" she yawned her little hand still holding onto him tightly.
Kay was careful where he stepped through the house, not wanting to track too much blood...though really by now most of it had dried up. He wandered into the bathroom and sat on the edge of the tub, Setting Roxy more on his lap but still holding her against him for now. Reaching over he turned the taps on, letting the water run over his burning feet. When Roxy woke up Kay smiled, bouncing her a bit on his legs. "Well Hey there, Midget. Sleep well?" He asked as though nothing was wrong.
The little blonde looked to Kay as if she was confused she rubbed her eyes and then yawned trying to figure out where they were. She looked a bit starteled when she spotted her brother but he wasn't red or scary now...so she only whimpered a bit moving to Kay slightly.
Gera shook his head and looked to the ground when Roxyreacted in such a manner..was she always going to be scared of him from now on?
"We're in my bathroom." He told her when she seemed to look around all confused. The little girl pressed against him again and he looked over his shoulder at Gera. "It's okay Roxy, Gera's not scary anymore." He waved Gera over, not wanting to encourage Roxy being scared; as much as he liked being clung to, this wasn't right. "I need to wash my feet, Roxy...Gera'll hold onto you, okay? I Promise everything'll be alright."
Roxy whimpered a bit but nodded her head as Kay assured her. She watched as Gera approached and she didn't like quite so eager to be picked up by her brother, but he wasn't red and his face looked normal...
Gera did was told and went ot retrieve Roxy though he looked just as awkward as the little girl felt. Holding onto her as gently as he could and yet she obviously didn't want to be held by him. She looked to Kay as if hopping he'd change his mind and take her back.
Kay let Gera take Roxy, smiling at the little girl like nothing was wrong, that everything was okay. He wasn't worried, she shouldn't be either! Once the little girl was passed off, Kay bent over and started to wash off his feet, getting the gravel and dirt out of his skin. Soon his feet were clean and he had washed the evidence away, toweling them off and looking around. "There's bandages in that cabinet there, could you get them for me?" He asked, nodding towards the mirrored cabinet above the sink.
Gera held onto Roxy both patrons looking rather ..uncomfortable with each others presence. When Gera was instructed to get the bandages he nodded his head and turned to where he had nodded. Opening it he went to take out the bandages when Roxy seemed to act a little bit more like herself.
"I wanna hewlp kay!" SHe insisted as she leaned forward to take the bandages from Gera's hand. The golem boy only nodded his head, not going to argue with her since she had talked to him again.
Walking back she struggeled to get out of Gera's arms in which he put her down and she walked to Kay and handed him the bandages.
The Shaman watched Kay wiggle to get down, taking the bandages from her and unravelling a bit of them. He started to wrap one of his feet, chattering on to Roxy on how to do it properly (he had lots of practice!), then lifting the other foot. "Wanna help this time?" He asked, not yet wrapping it yet.
Roxy was watching and listening and she nodded her head rather enthusiatically at the question. Of course she wanted to help! What a silly question. She took the bandage and then chewed on her lower lip trying to recal all the instructions that Kay had given her. She went about the task like any toddler would. Messily and sloppy but at least she was trying. It...definantenly was far from perfect when she was done but she seemed proud of her handiwork.
"Der Kay better now?" she asked sounding worried.
Kay chuckled, discreetly helping her to make it a little less messy and everywhere once it was done. Her worry was met with a smile and a dark hand reached out to ruffle her hair. "All better, Thanks Midget." He tugged on a bit of the bandage to tighten it then stood up, leading them out of the bathroom and back to the front door where he actually slipped on some shoes. "Back to the shop then?" He asked the pair; suddenly not hungry at all.
Gera watched in silence as Roxy seemed a lot warmer to Kay now than himself He felt..strange. He couldn't place the emotion but it didn't matter now. As long as Roxy was..okay.
Roxy followed Kay like a puppy and when he askd about going home she nodded her head. She wasn't so eager to be out and about anymore. Gera had a lot of questions..things he wanted to talk to Kay about. Like why that man tried to take Roxy. He didn't understand it. Not at all.
Kay reached down and took one of Roxy's little hands, then knelt a bit to point up at Gera. "Take his hand too, okay?" Kay didn't want to try carrying her; now that he'd washed his feet they were raw and sore...her weight, as slight as it was, would probably hurt a lot more than he already did. Cuts on his torso were fine, but ones on the bottoms of his feet had his entire weight baring down on them. "This is our little secret, alright?" His gaze moved from one to the other, pressing his free index finger to his lips.
Roxy looked from Kay back to Gera then back to Kay, she chewed on her lower lip and then relunctantly nodded her head. She reached up to grab Kay's and firmly as if to make sure he wouldn't change his mind suddenly and then more relunctantly took Gera's. The golem was relieved to have her listening to Kay.
Though he understood why it should remain secret...he wasn't sure if was a good idea.
"Alright, let's go home then, yeah?" Kay said with a smile, getting to his feet and keeping a hold on Roxy's hand. With a bit of a limp he led them out of his house and back to the shop.

. Journal . Life Thus Far Written By: Xbalanque TL;DR: Kay expresses his discomfort over Blood, but talks about his happy life and his thoughts on Roxy, Quinn and Faris.
Entry:
You know what's scary?
Losing control.
I suppose it's only scary because I've never really lost control before...never really been scared of before either. But around blood? I can't help it. I dunno, I feel like...well I don't know how to describe it. Just...I guess it's like when you're really thirsty on a hot day. Dizzy, disoriented...and absolutely dying to get your hands on a cold glass of water.
Only, instead of water it's blood. Warm, thick blood.
Scares the s**t out of me.
That's not the only thing that's scary though!
We almost lost Roxy to a stranger...
Gera nearly killed a man...
Ugh, everything's messed up!
There are a few things though!
Like Roxy. Roxy's adorable...she's Gera's little sister, so I get to see her a lot. Her laughter just makes everything go away, and after that whole kidnapping thing, I'm pretty sure I've been going out of my way to make her laugh now. It's contagious! So free and happy and...well, just Roxy. Cute, clingy kid.
Nahual hates her, hah.
Lets see...another good thing...
Quinn!
The best brother I have, teeth and all. He's funny, but damn does he bite hard...Poor Kale though, I don't think he knows what to do with Quinny-boy.
Hmm, what else...
Faris...!
Faris is adorable, I got to actually meet her a while back. Her hair is adorable, and so soft, and she has a funny way of talking. It suits her though. Like Roxy, her laughter is so contagious! She's very touchy too. Note to self; she's ticklish when you play with her wings. Also note to self: She's freakin' heavy. Like, boulder heavy.
Then she turns around and calls me weak?!
Ooooh chickie, it is on! I'll lift her off her feet one day.
Just you see.
Hah, I feel better! Now to train or something...I wonder how hard it is to lift boulders?

. Solo . Solo - A Day In The Life Of... Featuring: Xbalanque, Others TL;DR: Kay tries to pick up a boulder, fails, and then explains the rest of his morning routines.
Entry: In his most recent journal Entry, Kay wondered how hard it would be to lift a boulder.
Well, he had his answer.
Really, really hard.
Luckily nobody, Quint especially, was there to witness this little attempted feat. Also, luckily for him, that he hadn't gotten the boulder up high enough to do too much damage to his toes once he dropped it. A little hiss and a stubbed-toe-dance later, and the young man stared down at the boulder with a glare. One day, boulder. One day.
Sighing and admitting to the pain of defeat (haha, de-feet), he continued on with the jog that had been interrupted due to the suddenly amazing idea that turned out to be not so amazing.
The jog eventually led him around town, and once more back home where his Na was just getting up. More often than not Kay woke up before the sun rose, and managed to get most of his morning routines out of the way before Switch even pulled herself out of bed. Of course, that generally depended on the night before hand, and like any near-teenager, he had a few very late nights and very long sleeps under his belt. Today just so happened to be his regular day of getting up early.
Once most of the Family was up, Kay amused himself by playing with Tek, who was still in the waking stages himself and generally never took well to being touched anyway. Thus, playing with Tek ended almost as quickly as it started, and the Young Shaman was forced to settle in and watch TV until everyone else was up and ready.
Everything else? Purely happened on a whim. The only steady thing in his entire life was his morning routine. Everything else was subjective; some days he hung out more with Quint, others he made new friends...but he enjoyed every minute of it, and wouldn't have traded any of it for anything.

. Journal . Sooooo....Upate? Written By: Xbalanque TL;DR: Kay reflects on getting a new bed, the state of his feet, the people he's met, the one day Victoria came to the shop at an ungodly hour, and the way the dark spot in his mind wants to see Victoria squirm...or at least lose her cool.
Entry:
Quinn and I finally got seperate beds! We have our own sides of the room, which is just fine with me. I've already been threatened about going on his side, which is funny. I think I might one day, 'by accident'...just need to gage brother dearest's moods.
If there is one thing that scares me, it's those teeth. I know he didn't bite me as hard as he could have, but s**t, that hurt.
Also, Kale suggested Quinn write in a journal too, so that's why I'm writing in mine. Go go brotherly bonding in complete silence! Figured it would be a good idea to write when he does, don't ask me why, it just is.
My feet are mostly healed. It still hurts a bit to walk on certain surfaces, but it's more like an itch now, that's all. I haven't been using the bandages anymore, I hate the way they feel on my feet.
I met a few wicked awesome people at the shop. A dragon man wearing a loincloth, and a girl (I thik) with a goat head for an arm and three snake tails! Nahual was PISSED. It was awesome, she was awesome, and her arm licked me. She's also one of the only people that call me Xbalanque instead of Kay...which I find I like. A lot. Makes me feel important somehow, ya know? Na said Xbalanque was the name of a Heroic Twin from Mayan Mythology, apparently he and his brother Hunahpu went into the realm of the gods and did some really awesome stuff before turning into the sun and the moon.
I wonder which one 'Xbalanque' turned into...Na couldn't remember...
Ah well.
Victoria came to the shop once too, real early in the morning and in an absolute PANIC. The first time I met her she was all dolled up, but this time she wasn't...still very, very pretty, but less perfect. I'm not complain' though, but I think I like her better with her perfection all skewed. You know, stockings and dress all askew, hair messy...Either way, she's a real pretty girl. Even managed to mostly keep that refined sense of hers.
Well, until her Dad came down, saw us sleepin together (and I swear, we really were sleeping...it was like, four am! I didn't even know 4am existed!), and then she kinda went bonkers 'cause what was happening reminded her of her dream. Dreams are scary, and it was almost scary to see her lose that cool head of hers. I mean, she's always so prim and proper.
I dunno, but after that...every time I see her act in that prim and proper way...I just...I dunno, I wanna break it. There's a really mean part of me that wants to see her off Guard...or squirming...or something. I think that dark part of me really liked seeing her in that much of a panic.
For the record, that part of me still scares the crap out of me. I don't want it any closer.
Hmph, I've lost the will to keep writing. I'm going to bed.
Bye.

. Solo . Whoa, so you don't talk? Featuring: Xbalanque, Anon TL;DR: Kay meets a very very silent Anon! He shows off Mrrh, but then Anon gets pulled away...and Kay promises to come back with one of his female friends.
Entry:
Xbalanque was restless. It was one of those rare nights where he couldn't sleep for the life of him, and there was an odd sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. The kind that told him something bad was going to happen if it stayed dark for too long, and that he had to do something about it. It didn't happen often, but when it did...he was always restless, and at a complete loss as to what to do. Not only that, but the longer the night dragged on, the more anxious he felt; like he was sitting at the edge of his seat, waiting in utter anticipation for the climax of a film.
Tonight, he had gotten up and started walking, hoping that his disappearance from the house and shop would make time move faster, to bring morning. His travels lead him closer and closer to the Graveyard a few blocks down...and the closer he got, the more he could sense something familiar. A Curio? Nearby? He was pretty sure there was no Curio living around here, nor had one died as far as he could tell...
Curious, the young man went to investigate.
What he saw was surprising; it was a kid in a hood, digging a grave. But what was more, this kid smelt..off. Rather disgusting, actually. It made his teeth curl, so to speak. The younger Curio in question stopped what it was doing, looking over it's shoulder at him. The boy...kept his face shadowed?
"Isn't it too dark to shadow your face like that?" Kay asked rather stupidly, getting a tilt of the head in response. Though he didn't really get an answer, Kay seemed distracted enough to not care. "Hi, I'm Xbalanque...but you can call me Kay if you want! What's your name?" The Kid, who had now turned to face him, had its lip curled in a manner that could mean a myriad of things...but Kay took the accompanying hand gestures to mean that the kid was nervous or unsure of how to answer...if it could at all.
"...Can you even talk?" He asked, leaning his entire torso to the side. The kid seemed hesitant, then dropped the shovel to make a series of odd gestures with its hands. The young Shaman just stared at him...but then something just, clicked.
"Hey yeah, I actually can. What is that?" He said, answering the younger Curio's question. The odd-smelling one's lips curved up into a smile, and it made an almost eager step forward.
"Sign Language." It explained with a flourish of it's hands. Kay had no idea how he could understand the Graveyard worker, but he could, and that was all that really mattered.
"Oh, well, that's cool. I didn't know that I knew sign language!" Kay said proudly, a huge grin on his lips. This was awesome! A language that he didn't have to study or learn! Though he had a sneaking suspicion that he could only understand this kid because...the kid was probably mostly-dead, or almost-all-dead. He always could communicate with the deceased, and today was probably no different. There was a mental note made to look into this later. "So you really can't talk, eh? What's your name?"
"No, I can not. My name is Anonymous. Or Anon. It is nice to meet you." Anon said, still smiling and biting the inside of its cheek. The hooded Curio was shifting eagerly from one foot to the other; it gave Kay the distinct impression that this was one rather lonely soul. "What brings you here?" The question kind of made sense; how often did a healthy and living person wander into the graveyard for a stranger?
"Heya, Anon...n' I dunno, I sensed ya and wandered over. You're from that shop, aren'tcha? Hey hey, are you a boy, or a girl? It's hard to tell..." The young man prattled on, tilting his head and stepping closer, leaning down to try and see into the shorter one's hood. He was met with a startled jump and a bow of the head, making it a little hard to see his face, if at all. Curious!
"Please do not do that..." Anon asked, taking a little step back from Kay. "It is uncomfortable..." It admitted, and was honestly surprised when the dark skinned man stepped back, giving him enough space. "What is that?" It asked, then pointing to something hanging from Kay's belt.
"Huh? Oh, this? This is Mrrh! He's a shrunken head." Kay replied with a grin, taking Mrrh from the sling on his belt and holding him out for the hooded Curio. Luckily, the distraction was enough to make him forget that he had gotten no answer in regards to gender. "Y'wanna hold him?" Anon was still, but something about the way it was still suggested it was pondering the offer. Before it could answer, there was a loud bellowing cry from a building a little further in.
"ANON! C'mere, we need ye lad! They's tryin' ta break out again!" There was the sound of a gunshot, and Anon's shoulders slumped forward, like a bratty kid who did not want to do their chores. It lifted a gloved hand to give a thumbs up in lieu of a call back, and then turned to face Kay once more.
"I am sorry, I have to go. Perhaps later?" Considering he couldn't see Anon's eyes or hear a voice it was hard to convey any remote sort of emotion, but Kay had the distinct impression that the odd-smelling Curio was hopeful. Anon really did radiate a strange sense of loneliness...
"Oh, yeah, sure, don't worry 'bout me! I'll come visit again, yeah? I'll bring another friend! She's all sorts of fun. You do go whattcha haveta, an' I'll come back another day. Cya, Anon!" Kay said, waving his hand over his shoulder, turning to leave.

. Solo . Reaction to Mayflies Featuring: Xbalanque, Switch TL;DR: Kay comes home after the accident and after a (questionable) breakfast with Roxy.
Entry:
That noise still echoed through his mind. The sound of metal crunching, the screams of the people within the car. But even worse, the noise that got him and haunted him the most, was the sound of the lives being snuffed out. It was a quick noise, like blowing out a candle with too much air; how frightening it was to realize that a life ended with a quick and sudden pop.
Kay was grateful that Pilot had been there; the younger Curio's mere presence gave Kay a reason to stick it through. Even though Pilot was terrified and much too young to have gone through something like that, Kay was glad that he was. It was a strange point to be on, but he was on it. Thanks to Pilot's ability to follow direction they had both made it out okay, and Kay had returned to Roxy, and to the shop, as promised.
Roxy...his true rock. The only person thus far that could pull him back when the blackness starts to bubble to the surface. He had held her so tightly when he got back to the shop, and he recalled being held just as tight. He needed her, even though she was so much younger than he was...
The next morning and a questionable breakfast later, Kay was headed home. It was Switch's day off (at least, she had just closed the shop for her own mental wellbeing), and he fully expected her to be there for him. She always had been, why should now be any different?
Quint had been passing by, heading to the kitchen as Kay entered the house, but the Sharkboy was ignored. It was unusual for Kay to ignore his Brother, but there was only one thing he could think of: Find Na. Switch had made him feel better the last time something this tragic happened, and he needed her again. Luckily, he received the same level of attention in return. It was obvious that something was off, and Quint wasn't the type to pry if it seemed really important. Besides...Kay would probably tell him what happened anyway. Whether he wanted to hear it or not.
He found her where he expected her to be; her room, sitting cross legged on her bed. The blue haired woman seemed startled when he entered the room and closed the door behind him. Without an invitation, or even being aware of his surroundings, Kay crawled onto the bed and over to his Guardian, wrapping his arms around her and burying his face into her stomach.
At first, Switch was too stunned to say anything. Though after a moment or two, she wrestled her arms out from Kay's grasp and rested them on the young man's back, rubbing in a comforting manner. Then she looked over her shoulder at her mate, who had been brushing her hair, and with a slow blink tilted her head towards the door. Kale seemed understanding, and with a nod moved off of the bed, trying his best to not disturb the pair.
"I'll go make some Hot Cocoa, then." He said as though excusing himself, managing to press a kiss to Switch's temple before disappearing from the room, reclosing the door. Once the room was once more silent, and Kale's footsteps had disappeared, Switch spoke softly, brushing her fingers through Kay's hair. Surprisingly, Nahual seemed unphased or uninterested, for once not trying to bite her.
"What's wrong?" She asked, rubbing his back like she had done since he was small. With a muffled voice he retold the story of the car crash, of Pilot's involvement and how he felt so...off until Roxy talked to him. He told her everything, and didn't move from what he was doing, seeming content to talk into her stomach. The whole time, Switch just listened. On the odd time making a noise to show she was still listening to him, but she mostly remained silent, gently playing with his hair or rubbing his back.
After what seemed like a while, Kay finished talking. He had no questions for her to answer, and any comment she did make was to tell him how proud she was of him for taking care of the survivors, or that it was wonderful there were any survivors at all.
"You did a good thing, Kay. You and Pilot both...It takes a certain special brand of people to help out in situations like that..." She tried to comfort him as best as she could. "If you and Pilot had not been there, or not helped...there might not have been any at all. You did your best, and someone out there is most definitely thanking you." She told him, lightly tugging at his arms to get him to move up for a real hug, though she did sneakily press a kiss to his forehead before hand.
The young man had calmed down considerably even by just telling her, but her words were more comforting than anything. Shortly after there was a soft knock on the door, followed shortly by Kale, who was holding a steaming mug of cocoa for him. Kay accepted the drink and stayed with both of his parents for a little while longer. They had settled in to watch some TV show while Kale resumed playing with Switch's hair; it was oddly comforting, being together in the same room. It probably would have been better had Quint or Tek been in here, but he doubted either of his Brothers would have ever even consider it on their own accord.
After thanking Switch and giving both of his Parents a hug, Kay headed back to his room. The light was off and the door was cracked open, but Kay could clearly see that Quint had fallen asleep. Well, that was a good thing! The young shaman had been about to face plant onto his bed for the night, but a piece of paper caught his attention first. Picking it up and turning towards the light from the hallway, he read it once...and with a low chuckle gazed back at the sleeping form of Quint.
"I know you're not." He said quietly, placing the paper delicately on his desk before finally flopping onto his bed.
