Time: evening Where: a fair in the park What: a random encounter Involves: Varun and Kinsey Finch; Prajna and David Nao
- - - - - - Summary: Yet caught in another random encounter, David and Kinsey got to know one another a little more while their feisty Freis got to bond over carnival games. It seemed like the toxic chemistry between Prajna and Varun from before had come to settle into an almost romantic type of relationship, symbolized in Prajna, in its utmost rare form, offer Varun a stuffed animal the Star had received as a fair prize. At some point in the night though, the troublesome Frei duo had managed to allude their guardians and get some more alone time as Prajna found itself constantly fighting a warmness in its cheeks whenever Varun touched it or spoke to it affectionately. After some teacup rides and cotton candy, eventually the two pairs call it a night and say goodbye, for now.

Time: early evening-late Where: Gambino plaza What: A date! Involves: David and Prajna Nao, Ebony and Cordelia Shade
- - - - - - Summary: With a debt to be paid hanging over Ebony's head and a debt owed (mixed in with the fact that he hadn't seen her in a while) hanging over David's head, after gaining some news from Namini that Ebony had a newborn Frei, David called the Brit up to ask if she was up for clearing her debt, via a playdate with the Raevans. Surprisingly, the violet haired woman agreed and the parties decided to meet downtown for a small shindig event David was invited to, though Prajna adamantly did not want to go.
- - - - - -
Namini stopped in the middle of her routine exercises as her vibrant-pink cell phone lit up and began its own work out, vibrating this way and that along her bed stand. Struggling to reach her phone at first, the teenage girl eventually just walked over, picked it up, and read the caller ID aloud before flipping it open, "David? Hello?"
There was no reply, though pressing her ear harder against the speaker, the brunette could hear the familiar sound of cars. And then a blinker. Tick tick tick tick tick.
"David? What's up?" Namini asked, her eyes distractedly darting around her room. She walked across her room, out to the balcony where she was greeted by a sudden gust of crisp but eerie October air. The silence was becoming too heavy now. Namini leaned against the black metallic railing and tried to peer into the dimly lit parking lot below, before her cerulean eyes quickly picked up the familiar shape of David's SUV. A small wave of relief washed over the curly haired brunette but a larger part of her heart suddenly ached. With worry? With fear?
"David..what's going on?" came the breathless whisper, as Namini watched the silvery vehicle park and then turn of its lights. Somewhere in the distance, there came a soft moan, one too tender to belong to her brother. As the teenage girl parted her lips, preparing to say her brother's name once more, this time with a firmer tone, this time with a little more urgency, David finally responded.
"Prepare the couch and find some kind of light or two you don't mind parting with. If need be, take the lamp from my room. I'll be there soon."
There was a final, gentle click as David hung up, but Namini remained fixated at the balcony's edge. What was going on? What was wrong with Prajna? David wouldn't have responded like that unless something had happened, something..big. Another biting breeze brought the girl, finally, to her senses and, dropping her phone, Namini bolted back into the apartment. She ran frantically through her room, picking out two small blankets and grabbing whatever flashlight and lamp she could also carry into the living area. The teen felt like she was racing against time and her legs just weren't moving fast enough!
The competition continued.
Namini dropped all that she had gathered beside the sofa and proceeded to push the coffee table out of the way. From there, she went to unfolding the couch, instantly turning it into a small bed. Then, the amber-haired girl tossed whatever throw pillows she could find into a nice, homey ringlet at the head of the bed. The blankets came next, one corner folding up, seemingly waiting for a residence. Soon the ringing in her ears was drowned out as she heard the heavy footsteps approaching the door. Her front door. Namini stood by the sofa-bed, beads of sweat along her brow, as she watched everything continue from there out in slow motion. The door knob turned and she inhaled deeply.
What came through that doorway made the girl hold her breath for what seemed like forever. In David's sturdy arms was her delicate little redhead. It was like a mirror of herself. Sweat slithered down the pale Frei's flushed cheeks, an odd sight in itself. Closing the door slowly with one of his spare feet, David let out a heavy sigh, "Prajna encountered another Raevan, a Frei. ...Just like itself."
Namini's lungs awoke and she exhaled swiftly before taking another swig of air. Someone had hurt Prajna? Just like Lulu. Just like Rivener. There had been more fighting. Why was it, every time Prajna went out, it came back worse and worse?
David ignored his sister's lack of response and continued to the couch. With more tenderness than most people would have expected of him, he laid the Star underneath the covers. He removed its top hat, its neck ribbon, its outer vest and then unbuttoned the few first buttons of its shirt, revealing its collarbone, more skin than the Frei had ever let be seen before. In other cases, David would joke or question about Prajna's true gender but this was not one of them. The man could barely force a smirk. Namini watched all of this, helpless and confused. It wasn't until David began to unbutton his own shirt that Namini managed to actually process anything. Her eyelids fluttered wildly.
"David..what happened?" her sweet-sounding voice cracked, a curious, maternal hand reaching for the flame's disoriented face but stopping short. David walked over to the entrance and kicked off his shoes.
"We met up with Ebony and her newborn, Cordelia," the older Nao began, his back turned to his sister, though Namini's wide eyes remained focused only on Prajna's androgynous features rather than her brother's insignificant shuffling. Prajna's face, though recognizable, somehow looked so foreign.. so cold, but not in the physical sense that was regularly associated with the Star. "I don't know the details but..Cordelia and Prajna got into a quarrel of sorts. I..have no idea what happened, again, but what I did see was Prajna hitting her across the face and then...the both of them were out cold."
David turned around slowly, dark circles already beginning to form under his reddened eyes. He looked as if he had been crying, though Namini said nothing. So that was it. Prajna had started the fight. Again. Despite knowing this, the young girl walked over to her charge and brushed a few sweat-drenched strands of red out of Prajna's face, a weary smile crawling onto her features. Then she walked into the kitchen and began to search. David continued to lean against the door, deep in thought. The sound of rushing water reached him.
Namini approached the unconscious Frei and then carefully laid a cool towel upon its clammy forehead. How odd.
"David, I thought Prajna only took in heat?" she questioned, her brow knitting together. David pushed himself away from the door and glided over to the only remaining members of his family. He held a hand out to the Frei's head, stopping only when a sudden gasp escaped Prajna's lips. There was a tense silence but then Prajna's breathing evened back out and the sleep returned. David's hand finished closing the gap and the man's frown dug deeper into his features. What was this?
"And Prajna's..sweating. That's never happened before right? Like..it's sick.."
Namini was always the super observant one, seeing the changes, in her family especially, that only psychologists could pick up. The weirdest things really.
"Raevans don't get sick," David finally admitted, though his twisting mouth seemed to disagree with statement. "Or at least I don't think they do."
Both human Nao's sat in silence around their unconscious "child" helplessly. All things considered, now it just looked like a waiting game. Until Prajna awoke, nothing was absolute...

[Meta-solo] Among strangers Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder where you are.
Where am I?
Prajna felt light, weightless, an odd sensation despite the fact that it floated instead of walked. It watched itself open its brilliant blue eyes before getting sucked back into its flesh, yet another peculiar experience. There was literally a loud, vacuum-sucking noise as the redhead witnessed itself consuming its own half torso. Then the perspective corrected itself and hands wandered up and down what little skin and muscle there was. It was back in its body? How had it gotten out?
Up above the world so high,
The Inverted Flame didn't understand. Where was that voice coming from? Up? The redhead looked up to see nothing but an endless night sky, drowning in stars. There was suddenly the weirdest feeling of familiarity as a porcelain hand instinctively reached up and clutched at the red cloth covering its own heart. There was no beating. No sound. Just that simple melodic voice.
like a diamond in the sky,
Namini. It was Namini's voice!
Prajna turned about to see that IT was now the one drowning in stars! Beneath it, the heavenly blues of a perfect sky. Above, stars. To the left, to the right, nothing but galaxy for miles to see. The Flame panicked. How was this all possible? This wasn't where it was supposed to be. What happened? It shut its eyes tightly, trying to recall what had happened last. Blurry pictures flashed about its pressured memory bank: David. Purple hair. Silvery eyes. An attack. Adrenaline. The desire to do nothing but fight fight fight! A sickening wave of humidity. Blackness. A similar empty feeling to the one it possessed now.
Namini's voice faded, the lyrics slowing.
Twinkle...twinkle...little star..
"Namini!" Prajna cried, searching for something. Despite all the space, all the beauty it could have ever desired, something was missing. It felt claustrophobic. It felt abandoned. It felt..helpless. Weak. Alone. Prajna opened its mouth and screamed its guardian's name once more but nothing came out. Again and still, nothing. Not even air.
How I wonder...where you are.
The tears began to swell in the poor Frei's eyes as it curled its ribbon up and clutched its own chest. The Milky Way brushed by the ribbon's tail but the beauty of it meant nothing to the Star. It was home but at the same time, it wasn't. Despite everything..it still wasn't "home."
Prajna wants to be strong. Prajna wants to go home.
And the universe shattered around it, the stars dying off slowly within the leftover black shards of sky. Prajna did not notice its crumbling surroundings though. It just felt the blackness return.
Time: afternoon Where: the Delaran home What: medical assistance-advice Involves: Namini, Prajna, Aphismet, Rivener.
- - - - - - Summary: When Prajna showed an unnatural fever, though the Star itself remained indifferent, Namini began searching for medical (and personal!) advice from other guardians in hopes of remedying its bad attitude and its physical concern. She was able to reach Aphismet yet the Raevans in both homes remained curious and a bit skeptical on what was about to unfold...
Soon, the Nao's found themselves at the footsteps of the Delaran home. And Rivener and Aphismet had different ideas of what to do from there. Immediately upon entering, Aphismet attempted to coax Namini to leave but Rivener was faster, pushing the man out of the way while stealing Prajna up to his bedroom. After locking the door, Rivener ignored the threats and worried screams of the humans as he pinned the indifferent Star to the bed. Sweating and flushed, Prajna, surprisingly was unfazed by the drama. It could only think, Rivener can have anything he wants... so long as Prajna also gets anything it wants!
However, that stubborn mindset did not last long.
As Rivener continued to ravish on the vulnerable Star, the searing pain Prajna felt became impossible to ignore until it was just too much. Rivener had denied the Star compensation so Prajna scratched at the Scorpion's chest, giving their guardians just enough time to crawl through Eiry's connected room and reach the shared Sigels' balcony. As Aphismet broke the balcony glass door to stop Rivener, he was too late as the angered Scorpion pierced the Star's shoulder! Before Aphismet could get Rivener away from the sick Star, Namini sprung into action, pulling at the Sigel's wing. Eventually, the guardians were able to persuade Rivener to administer the antidote for the paralysis poison he had injected into Prajna.

[Meta-solo] A distance between us A high pitched wail pierced the thick night air. David Nao stirred as the crying continued, but once it settled, he did too, right back into his thick covers. In contrast, his sister bolted immediately from her bed and wandered, albeit a little bit sleepy, into the living area. It took her eyes a moment to take in the dark space and its hidden silhouettes, but Prajna's soft sobs reached her ears and led the way. The first few nights this occurred, David had come out too, a mixture of half hearted concern and irritation dancing along his tired features but now it was simply the curly haired brunette, with only genuine concern flooding her bloodshot eyes and her fragile features. This was all her fault after all, wasn't it? She should take some kind of responsibility.
It's nowhere near as hard as it must be on Prajna, she'd tell herself as she strolled to the redhead's side. Namini let out a calming coo. How many nights had it been since the visit to the Delaran home? Five? Six? A week's worth? Prajna shook violently as it attempted to restrain its tears. Namini made a note that the vibrations were stronger than they had been on the first night and concluded that Prajna was losing more and more of its emotional control. Rivener had really scared her little baby hadn't he? No, it was just everything in general. It had all happened so fast and it had all been so unpredictable. Prajna meeting and fighting Cordelia, getting sick, getting attacked by Rivener. Everything was just a lot to take in.
"I'm here Prajna. Shhh, it's ok. I'm here," Namini whispered into the other's hair. Unlike the first night, the Frei did not push her away. If anything, it began crying harder into her shoulder. Namini winced as she felt a warmness spreading over her sternum. So many tears.. "Can you tell me about it? Was it another one?"
Prajna froze and all that could be heard was the ticking of a distant clock. Namini fought back a yawn, considering the situation. Now was no time for sleeping. Prajna felt uneasy. She had to be here to care for it. Finally, like a beam of sunlight in all the darkness, Prajna's weary voice whimpered, "Yes. 'Nother. More black nothing. Prajna was.."
The tears returned and Namini knew there was no need to ask anymore. Instinctively, the teen began to hum a familiar tune for the Star, one she used to sing to it when it first arrived, trying to make it feel at home in a sense. A tender smile tugged at her porcelain features; Oh how Prajna had hated her singing.
"Twinkle, twinkle, little star~" she began. But now, within the past few nights, Prajna accepted the song, though with a defeated sense. It was nice, simple, bringing a sense of home, even if it was also bittersweet and painful to hear sometimes. "How I wonder where you are, like a diamond in the sky, up above the world so high~"
Tonight, it was too painful to bear unfortunately, and there was suddenly a sharp cracking noise that echoed off the walls.
Prajna's open palm was shaking tremendously.
Namini didn't even raise a hand to touch her cheek, to check how badly it burned. The clock counted down another minute and Prajna dragged itself away from her, to the other, colder side of the sofa-bed. Slowly, a brokenhearted smile fell upon the girl's lips as she turned her eyes back to her charge, "Sorry. I didn't know it would upset you tonight."
Prajna's eyes were rimmed with a red that rivaled its hair, that much the teen could see in the darkness, and now they were spilling tears again. So many tears. Namini reached out a hand to brush her pet's sweat-soaked locks affectionately but the Flame let out a small shriek and fluttered away from her even more, until it was laying atop a small island of pillows. She withdrew the hand and her eyes went to her hands, now resting atop her pale knees. There was so much she wanted to ask and yet she knew better. She tried to smile again but this time the grin wasn't as strong. What kind of mother was she anyway? A stupid one.
Prajna shivered and Namini's eyes lifted back up to watch the Frei. It was still sweating. It was still able to eat. The blue flames David mentioned never appeared, even though Namini expected them on some fearsome nights. This virus was..strong.
"...Sor-...nothingmore."
Namini nodded, understanding her "child"'s broken language. Under these conditions, the brunette didn't feel she deserved an apology, even for such a biting slap, but she felt the need to humor Prajna. The redhead pulled at the blanket and curled up in its little cocoon again as Namini decided it was time to take her leave.
"Goodnight Prajna. Sleep tight," she murmured and as she returned to her room, she could hear Prajna echo the bitter tears sliding down her own cheeks now.

Time: Late morning to early afternoon Where: a random cafe What: a set up encounter by Namini Involves: David Nao, Ebony Shade
- - - - - - Summary: After receiving a call from a worried Ebony, concerned with the recent incident between her charge, Cordelia, and the Naos' Prajna, David decided to show up as the Nao representative at a nearby coffee shop for a small chat with the British femme fatale... Or rather, Namini locked him out of the apartment, begging him to meet "someone" on her behalf and David could do nothing else but oblige, though that "someone" surprisingly turned out to be one of the people he was awkwardly but adamantly avoiding at the moment. Irked and losing his ability to hide it, David started off their conversation with more bite than he intended while Ebony seemed to turn more deeply into her own self and concerns, a reaction David was not particularly fond of being the cause for. Still, the older Nao was finding it close to impossible to communicate casually with the familiar woman, either out of fear of messing up whatever they had or out of fear of lashing out his frustrations on her. The tensions building up at the Nao apartment with Prajna in a deteriorating state was really becoming a lot to take on, even with two guardians around to share the gloom. Slowly but surely, Ebony confessed an apology for Cordelia's illness, not really something David found himself expecting, though that did explain a lot, and soon after, David found himself drowning even further in a mixed sea of emotions. Suddenly the eldest Nao decided it was time to take action, rather than exchange words....but Ebony had a different idea.
Her sass abruptly returning, David had no idea how to convince the woman to cooperate and stand so what he had impulsively planned out was, well, put into action: He kicked the table out of their way and pulled the awkward Brit into an unrestrained hug, which immediately rekindled David's more playful nature. The man even relaxed enough to enjoy a small tender brush of their lips, much to Ebony's embarrassment! But with that sweet reunion, the two soon parted ways, seemingly having covered more ground than perhaps Ebony was originally intending...

Time: Afternoon, around 12:30 Where: the same beach as the 2008 Summer Beach Blowout What: A random encounter Involves: Namini and Prajna, Yuurei and Lucia
- - - - - - Summary: An infected and cranky Prajna was taken to the seaside, despite the cold weather, in hopes of reducing its fever and helping the Star calm its troubled mind. Namini and David had known so little in how to help it, this seemed like the least Namini could provide her usually troublesome but recently quieted charge. The young girl hated seeing Prajna without its fiery nature, no matter how much chaos Prajna tended to cause. But even in the middle of November, standing on one of Gaia's most frigid beaches, it seemed like Prajna was still unable to escape trouble as the two young Naos quickly found themselves in the company of an unfamiliar Raevan, Lucia, and her owner, Yuurei. And immediately, Prajna and Lucia did not hit it off. Lucia had wanted the beach to herself and to see an androgynous, smug stranger already occupying it was too much! Eventually, it seemed the overwhelming air of pride and distrust of the other from both parties was just leaving the two Raevans itching for a fight, though Prajna knew it was really in no condition to. At some point though, Prajna and Lucia are told to go "play" on the beach as the guardians chatted away about the symptoms all the Raevans were experiencing and what would potentially be happening.
This suggestion to go "play" inevitably led to a cat fight breaking out between the Star and the feline soul, fueled also by intimate insults and physical assaults. At some point, Lucia managed to pin Prajna down after delivering a solid punch to the Star's temple but Prajna used a dirty trick to regain the upper hand.
Literally.
Prajna grabbed Lucia's healing wrist and applied as much pressure as it could, just as Lucia had when choking the Star and soon the cat screamed. The fighting continued to escalate until finally Yuurei caught sight of the action and rushed over, Namini quick on her heels. Both Raevans covered in scratches, bruises and blood was not the image the two female guardians had just been discussing!! Yuurei and Lucia decided to leave first, and Namini offered them the best apology she could as she examined Prajna's wounds. The bloodlust in both Lucia and Prajna's eyes, though, never seemed to fade even as the cat was long out of sight...- - - - - - "Prajna. Prajna, look at me."
Slam! Click.
The Inverted Flame floated quickly into the living room, already half undressed by the time it arrived at its recently-couch-turned-bed. As Prajna topped its pile of white and red fabric with a blood soaked ribbon, there was some shuffling and a softer click from behind the front door. The Frei dashed into David's room where it slammed and locked the second door by the time Namini had entered. The brunette only caught a glimpse of her charge's crimson locks before they disappeared behind her brother's door as she closed the front entrance clumsily. Namini cursed softly as she dropped her keys in her haste. Her features showed wear and fatigue, "Prajna, please."
The redhead ignored her pleas. The shower was heard.
Namini beat on the David's door lightly, not wanting to actually damage it but not wanting to just give in to Prajna's childishness again. As the shower continued to run, Namini's knocks became harder.
"Prajna, please, just..what happened? Let me get a better look at your hand. ..Y'know...Lucia was hurt too! I..I can't keep covering up for you Prajna. Not when I don't know what's actually going on. Please, just..I know you're listening!" the girl's voice was strained, fighting back tears or perhaps holding back the true ugliness of her anger as she pounded the door once more.
In the bathroom, Prajna remained uncovered and uncaring. The wave of relief that came with the steam was...addicting. It was like the steam was forcing the virus to ooze out of the Frei's every pore or rather, instead of pushing itself out, the virus was being drawn out, the open pores providing for a better escape. Whatever was going on, all Prajna knew was that it felt good. So good and yet, as cerulean eyes looked into the shower, watching as the sprays of water flicked a few drops here and there, up and down, the Star could not bring itself to actually touch the water. The steam from the hot water was great, intoxicating, but the water? No. It was still disgusting as ever. There was no way the Frei was going to touch it.
The thudding against the door became softer the longer the shower stayed on. Namini was growing tired. Prajna left the water running as it carefully creaked open the door and floated out. It winced at the cool, open air of David's room but proceeded to the door nonetheless. It hovered warily in front of the entrance for a few seconds, trying to concentrate on whatever sounds it could pick up. Nothing. All it heard was the ticking of the clock somewhere in the apartment. The Star pulled its red tresses back into a wet ponytail and then bent low to the carpet, peering underneath the door. There was no shadow. Where was she? Its curiosity piqued the Frei floated back into the bathroom and searched for a towel to wrap itself in. Once that had been accomplished, Prajna returned back to the front, ducked underneath to check on Namini's location a second time, and, once confirmed that she was not there, carefully twisted the knob and pulled the door open. The air hit the redhead like a block of ice, its relaxed pores tightening painfully back up.
Prajna clenched its teeth as the fury of icy needles pushed themselves deeper into its skin with each movement. It tried to float into the living room but did not get any further than a few feet from David's door, which was enough nonetheless, but the pain was unbearable! Quickly, the Frei forced its head to the left and felt the rest of its muscles contract as its eyes fell upon a sobbing Namini. She was curled up in Prajna's covers, the only part visible being her furrowed brows and her shut, teary eyes. She must not have heard the Frei sneak out. Prajna floated back into David's bathroom but did not lock the door this time. It cried suddenly, amongst the relieving shower-made mist. It had hurt her again. Was that all it was beginning to know? Only how to cause others pain?
Namini. Varun. Rivener. Lucretia. Lulu.
Yes, some were truly enemies but perhaps.. had there been some way to avoid fighting? Was competing the only way to sort things out? Prajna cried, uncertainty washing over itself.

Time: Before midday, on a schoolday Where: Outside/near Prajna's home What: a confrontation Involves: Vyn & Prajna
- - - - - - Summary: Still mysteriously infected, Prajna was about to take a hot shower when it spotted a shadow of a Raevan from its window. Curious as ever, the unstable Star went to seek the dark silhouette out and found the elusive, dark rose, Vyn. Suspicious that Vyn was a spy sent on Cordelia’s behalf, Prajna immediately began interrogating the rose, only to be met with courtesy and kindness. So eventually Prajna relaxed and found itself quickly captivated by Vyn’s mystifying charm. After a passionate engagement ensued, rain forced the two to eventually take shelter in Prajna’s nearby home, where the heat brought Prajna to its metaphorical knees. Feeling sleep overcome it, Vyn escorted Prajna to the couch where they shared a sweet nap together.
- - - - - - Prajna floated slowly back up the stairs with the occasional pause in thought and pace followed by the predictable backwards glance. Vyn was out of sight now. The Inverted Flame gripped the icy metallic railing running parallel to the staircase wearing the pained look of a vampire who had just forced himself to grasp a cross to test his strength. The Frei's heart continued to pump the virus and its effects clear throughout the incomplete torso and so, to fight back tears from their separation was incredibly, almost impossibly difficult. Prajna could not wait til they saw one another next. All it would think about was Vyn. Vyn and her eloquence, her mind-boggling charisma, her haunting beauty, the softness of her skin, her enchanting mannerisms, her deathly seductive perfume. Prajna inhaled shakily, closing its eyes in attempt to recollect all of the memories better. Behind its ceruleans it clearly saw Vyn's piercing golds against their natural black backdrop. What beauty...
Thump!
Prajna opened its eyes and floated to the top of the stairs. There, in front of the Nao residence, stood what looked to be a confused UPS worker. And a cute blue little box at the foot of the doorway. That's when the uniformed man turned and met Prajna's eyes. He smiled and oddly enough, Prajna blushed, suddenly bashful. The man approached the Frei.
"Could you sign this for me?" he asked, holding out a clipboard. Prajna looked at the paper cautiously before nodding in silence, an action it also performed naturally in response. It took hold of the pen as if it were examining something glass or porcelain, lifting it with the utmost care. Then, swiftly but gracefully, Prajna marked a giant X on the paper to which the man thanked it for and then walked past it, traveling down the stairs in which Prajna had just came from. The Frei's cerulean gaze lingered after the kind stranger before returning back to the small box laying in silence by the door. Prajna floated towards it, the adrenaline l from its encounter with Vyn still fresh.
Prajna eyed the colorful package curiously before picking it up with the same carefulness it had with the pen. That's when it found a note attached to the bow.
Gift Tag Message Merry Christmas! Do you think Santa's put you on the NICE or NAUGHTY list? From: Chloe S.
"Nice or naughty?" Prajna frowned before turning the box this way and that. There was little noise and there was nothing distinctive about the weight so the frown only deepened. Prajna looked around the hallway and carried the box inside the apartment before sliding its fingers under the lid. That's when it saw it. Words in brilliant red that made Prajna toss the box onto the couch and wander off onto the balcony, distracting itself with thoughts of Vyn.
Do Not Open Until Christmas!
A sudden change in thought: Prajna wondered when exactly 'Christmas' was.
