Botein of Amulets

Botein had gotten the message asking for help, she had no clue who Daedalus was but if they needed help she was more then willing to give it.... she just hoped it didn't include zombies or rabies. That last senshi that needed help... well that whole thing was still giving her nightmares. She didn't regret helping. She just didn't like the zombies that chased her in her dreams.

And yet here she was, in the growing crowd, ready to lend her aid in any way she could. When Daedalus asked if anyone had any questions the young woman hesitantly raised a hand and asked, "Its not zombies is it? They give me the heebie-jeebies." She shuttered at just the thought of them. She would never look at zombie movies the same way again.

Mauvian Illyria

Illyria's senses were prickling. There was a large gathering of order forces on her radar and it was causing her head to swivel in that direction even as her paws faltered. If there was a gathering this large, something was going on. The reason behind her faltering steps was merely for the fact that she could not sense Ida's unique signature amongst the crowd. Her whiskers twitched as she stood there torn by indecision.

To go and investigate the reason behind the gathering was only natural for her at this point. Perhaps though she could at least show a little more forethought in how she was going to approach this. Letting her paws carry her forward the small Mauvian came to the point in the park where it seemed that the gathering was occurring before sitting to listen. Her gaze picked out at least a few familiar faces in the crowd before she shifted on her haunches. Going to her humanoid form would probably cause too much attention to the area but Illyria was going to be reasonable this time and at least leave notice to her bonded that she was going to be "away" from the city.

Even as she sat composing the message did Illyria's gaze narrow in concentration. She had been right about at least coming to find out what was going on and now she was being responsible in making sure that the one person she cared for most knew what was going on.

Message sent Illyria's small form weaved around the feet of those gathered before she took a silent seat to stare at the senshi sitting on the fountain's edge. Seeing Murikabushi at the senshi's side caused the feline to blink in pleasant surprise. She remained silent though as she picked out others that she recognized. At least she could help to watch others' backs on this mission.

Illyria's message to Ida:

I've come across another group that seems to be heading to another world like Fang's and Alastor's in which the source of chaos infecting the place has been discovered. I figured I'd let you know this time of what I intend to do. I'm going to tag along to offer my assistance. There are a few in the crowd that are friends who've we've helped before. I promise will be careful.

Sigiriya of Ida

Sig absently fiddled with his new weapon, still trying to get the feel for it, while he asked his companion, "Where exactly are we going?" He didn't quite understand why Tortuga had called him out that particular night. He didn't mind but still. Why was his cousin-in-law dragging the new squire with him like some kind of flotsam. It wasn't a very flattering mental comparison but Sig couldn't think of anything better. It wasn't like he had so much time as a fighter under his belt, let alone his new status as a squire. What use could he be to an older, and more experienced squire like Tortuga?

Tortuga of Jupiter

"To help someone out." Tortuga answered absently as he strode forward. "Can you feel that group of auras ahead? It's a collection of order that gathered because one of us needs help." He did his best to explain. He hadn't gotten a full rundown of what was going on, only that a senshi needed help scrubbing chaos from their world. He remembered what had happened to Maia and didn't want anything like that to happen to someone else if he could prevent it.

Purple eyes glanced over at the younger squire and took note of the nervous fidgeting. "Look kid. As much as you practice. As much as you spar. Nothing beats real combat. Chaos will not wait for you to master your staff. It won't wait for you to understand your magic. It doesn't care. It won't stop." They came upon the edges of the crowd and Tortuga lowered his voice. "Not until we make it. Hence dragging you along. You can learn just how dangerous Chaos taint can be not only in this city but in the universe as a whole. I know you were told about it. But now you will experience it." He clapped a hand on the young man's back, "Don't worry. I'll make sure you get home safe... otherwise your girl will have my head." A very accurate statement, as Tortuga knew well. After all he had the threatening text to prove it.

Dunnottar, Page of Lysithea

Dunnottar inhaled slowly as he answered the call for help. This whole... helping people thing wasn't his usual forte, but he needed more experience in fighting strange, alien and alien-like things. He needed to strengthen his power in this form, to understand it better, the limitations he was working with, all of that. And this seemed like a good way to get some.

He glanced around, but didn't see anyone he recognized nearby—not that he would have talked to them, he supposed, but it was nice to see familiar faces all the same.

Super Hati of Cu-Sith

Hati rolled his neck, stretching out his body as he prepared for the fight to come. He didn't have a lot of questions—nothing that wasn't already being asked yet, anyway. He supposed he just wanted to be as ready for the fight to come as he could be. Maybe he'd have further questions to follow up with once Daedalus answered what had already been asked, but at the moment, he was content to wait and listen. Start strategizing.

Super Demeter of Agriculture

Demeter breathed. In and out. Okay. Every good team needed some healers, right? That's what the video games said! Not everyone could be, uh... a DPS! The shooter guys!! The ones who attacked and all of that. Or something. She didn't know, okay, if she played any video games they were the stupid puzzle game apps on her phone that kinda sucked anyway because of all the dumb ads when she just wanted to draw a bunch of lines from one space to another and try not to intersect any of them while matching.

Right she was definitely getting off track. She shook her head and put her best focus face on. Focus. Yeah. Focus. She could do this! Totally!! Whatever was coming, she could help, she could make sure people didn't die and oh dear sweet baby Jesus Mary and Joseph, were people going to die? Would anyone die? Oh no. No no no no. She couldn't let that happen!!

She realized she hadn't been listening again and blushed out of shame that nobody would have known, probably, given she wasn't babbling out loud for once. She needed to make sure she heard Daedalus answer the questions people had definitely asked while her brain had been elsewhere. At least by getting the answers, she'd know what the questions were.

Probably. That was how that worked, right?

Læraðr, Squire of Neptune

Læraðr inhaled deeply, letting out the breath in a soft whoop. Exhilaration ran through his veins—a fight. Against some big horrible Chaos thing. This was an excellent way to let off some steam, to try and pretend like his home life wasn't slowly unthreading itself. A real, proper fight against an enemy they could actually kill.

He couldn't wait to get started, he thought to himself as he cracked his knuckles and shook his hands out, doing his usual long stretches to limber up before exercising—or in this case, traveling to a new planet to absolutely kick the a** of some Chaos creature.

Super Monoceros of Porcupines

Monoceros was absolutely terrified. He hadn't been out in so long... He didn't want to be tracked down by—he squeezed his eyes shut, trying to shut out the thoughts of Ashanite with them. He still loved the man—as far as he knew, the first man he'd ever gotten to love. And wasn't that just the best pickle. Heavy-handed sarcasm and all. He sighed, rubbing his hand over his eyes.

He just... couldn't ignore such a cry for help. He needed to stop just drifting through life on Kerberos' kindness in his civilian life. He had to stop avoiding becoming Monoceros and... ********, he really didn't want to be out here. But he had to start somewhere. And at least with something like this, they were all headed to someone else's planet and he couldn't be caught in some kind of kidnapping plot.

He exhaled shakily, wishing they would just go so he didn't have to be out in the open—even surrounded by the White Moon as he was.

Eternal Fang of Chrysocyon

Fang had promised to help any and all other aliens with their Chaos issues—so it was no question that he'd come to help Daedalus. He liked the dragony senshi, as well. They'd exchanged lullabies, a while back. He liked that.

So he waited, ears perked and alert. But he did notice... Daedalus was looking very ill, and his ears drooped slightly with concern before perking back up to hear his answer as he stepped closer.

Abzu, Squire of Neptune &
Ibirapitá, Senshi of Shade

"He looks... unwell."

Abzu blinked at Ibirapitá's observation, glancing upward in his direction. "Makes sense. Pretty sure that's why we're here, right? Resolve what's making him ill?"

Ibirapitá tilted his head. "Most sapient creatures do get sick. It is normal, aye?" Abzu's brows knit. What was Ibirapitá getting at? "I thought that sort of normalcy abandoned people like us."

Oh. Oh. "Ibi--"

"I envy him."

Abzu couldn't help the heavy breath that caused his entire body to sag. "I don't think he wants your envy."

Abzu's response was a singular grunt.

The wheels in his head were certainly turning, though.

====

Nembus, Super Senshi of Electromagnetism

Nembus was uncomfortable.

It wasn't necessarily what they were dealing with. Helping someone restore their home world was perfectly fine with her. Seeing someone that wasn't feeling well wasn't something she was happy to see, but it was also something she was used to. What was making her uncomfortable was the fact that they were still standing on Earth. They were still standing on Earth where she could still be discovered by the agents of chaos that most likely wanted her dead.

Logically, she told herself that had been several years. It was probably fair to think that they had either forgotten about her or assumed that she was already dead. But she also had her ear to the ground, and she knew that the team that she was part of was still a very active force of chaos. And she didn't think any of the people involved would forget very easily.

She was pretty sure if she had run into Albite he would first tackle-hug her and then probably try and drag her back.

At least she wouldn't be dead in that case, but she still didn't want it.

After all, his husband would kill her without a second thought.

"Phaethon," And she found herself half hiding behind him, staring around him as if Phaethon's slim but taller body could shield her from something else. "How long do you think this is going to take? Do you think I should run? I think I should run. Maybe I shouldn't run. I want to help. I see Alastor over there, I think..."

There are a lot of forces of order there. Surely no chaotic person would be foolish enough to try and charge in now.

====

Encke, Transcended Eternal Senshi of Plasma

There was something nice to seeing this many people there just to help out yet another of these aliens try and restore their homeworlds. Considering what had happened when the other aliens initially invaded, Encke had been concerned to that some maybe hesitant to support more aliens.

Of course, none of these had ever made a machine that mass corrupted them after telling them that they were going to use the machine to help them out with the chaotic problem once and for all. They did keep bringing them to worlds doused in chaos, though. Not without them being willing, but...

Encke was hoping that there would be no effects on this particular world that would haunt him in the way the prior one had.

He stood with Basiluzzo, fighting off an instinct to bite down on his fingers bite by running a hand through his hair.

"We've had a lot of success with this recently," murmured Encke. "Think this will be the same?"

Sailor Cernunnos

A large gathering like this was a curiosity, that was for sure. The slight boy had hear something about something going on tonight and it had sounded interesting enough that here he was, staring around at all the strange faces as he approached. So, this was to help someone like him, hmm? Someone from a planet other than Earth. Cernunnos hadn't really known there were so many other order people... and this wasn't even all of them, he was pretty sure. He'd never run into more than one or two so far, though he'd felt them off in the distance like tiny stars on his inner senses. Hati had explained some of it, but seeing them all gathered... was just a little overwhelming.

That guy over there with the horns... not like his horns, different horns, seemed to be the one in charge... though he didn't look well. Was that part of all of this? Whatever they'd all gathered for, it was making him sick? Cernunnos wasn't sure you could physically fight an illness, but who knew. He hadn't thought he could be pulled across the universe not that long ago. Or that he could outlive everyone he'd ever known and then some, so.. you know. There were lots of things he'd been proven wrong about.

Dark eyes scanned the people gathered, wondering who they each were and what had motivated them all to come. Altruism? Wanting to help someone the did or didn't know? Something else? Was this part of the big war he'd been told about? He was getting kind of tired of always having questions and no answers to them... but some of them were cute, which at least made for nice people watching. Reaching out, he pulled a snack bar out of his subspace and tore open the wrapper, nibbling at a corner of it as he perked his ears to listen.

So many. People, questions, well wishes, concerns. Daedalus pushed himself onto his feet, so that he could begin answering them all.

“Thank you,” Daedalus told Procyon, quietly. “I hope so as well.”

Roka’s non-question made Daedalus wince. It was true, he was quite poorly, but…well. “Well enough,” Daedalus said. He had to be, didn’t he? “We’ll get there and back just fine.”

The Neptune Page (Dunwich) asked a sensible question, and Daedalus straightened, raising his voice so everyone could hear. “When I….went into stasis,” no need to explain the messy details, “the Chaos had manifested in the environment, as what you might call a sort of pollution. Toxic rivers, acid rain, smogged air. But of late, it seems to be taking on physical shape. Amorphous, gelatinous beings—small ones at first, almost insectlike—but a week ago, Murikabushi and I traced them to their source—a large creature that almost seems made of oil and slime. It’s made its home on an island in the center of a lake, and my hope is that destroying it will destroy the source of the infection.”

Surtur got a weak smile. Of course he was concerned about directly practical matters, especially if small children were involved. “No one else should be at risk. What ails me…will not improve, but it isn’t contagious, and it isn’t directly caused by the Chaos.” As if his lungs meant to betray him, a very nasty sounding cough racked its way out of his chest, and it took him a moment for it to pass, and for him to compose himself. “Consider it a pre-existing condition, worsened by my world’s deteriorating environment.”

True enough.

He dropped his voice, more privately, for Surtur alone.

“You know what my world was like, before. My lungs were damaged by the factories long before Chaos arrived.” It was a confession, something he’d kept mostly to himself, a thousand years ago—but what was the point, anymore? His illness was on display for everyone, friends and strangers alike.

He took a breath

”Thank you, everyone,” he said, projecting his voice as best he could. “When we arrive on my world, we’ll have to divide up—trying to all cross any one bridge would be foolish, and better to strike it from all angles.” Then, he pulled out his Senshi phone, and focused, willing that they all be carried to his world. He’d never tried with so many, not all at once—and Roka’s concerns were there, rattling in the back of his mind.

But they arrived, in the open meadow surrounded by dead forest that encircled the lake. The air on Daedalus was hazy with smog, and even the heartiest might find it unpleasant to breathe. And something in it whispered, soft and light,

Rest. Lay down your burdens. There is no need to fight.

But there was.

This time, the oily-sludge creature that had dragged itself out of the once-lovely waters was no longer alone.

At each bridge that crossed the lake, it seemed, there was a guardian—a heavy cloud of moving smog; a swirl of brown, sludgy, oily water; a heap of rotting garbage; a mound of soil run through with strange runoff.

”Oh,” Daedalus said, unhappily, ”those are new.”

Lucien - Cat Form

Lucien’s tail swished behind Alastor’s back in agitation. He’d remained silent as Alastor had, choosing to observe rather than voice any questions or opinions. Given the number there, and the circumstances, he doubted there would be time to answer any of his questions. And he didn’t want to ask questions to which he preferred a detailed response.

Arriving at Daedalus, Lucien stiffened, the fur on the back of his neck rising, and he did his best not to dig his claws into Alastor’s shoulder.

“Charming,” he grimaced at what was undoubtedly the source of Chaos. It reeked of it, although it was more unpleasant than he wished to experience.

At some point he would need to get off of Alastor’s shoulders, but for now, he stayed with his feet dry.

“Perhaps it was a blessing that Ephesus is under the weather. He would surely be distraught over the state of this world.”

Not that the child had any understanding of what the world should be like, but he was a gentle soul and filled with emotions he didn’t always know how to control.

“You will not get out of that as easily as water,” he warned, thinking that it was also a curse that Sessrumnir was under the weather as well, for Lucien certainly wouldn’t be able to pull Alastor from the sludge should he end up in it, voluntarily or otherwise.

Name: Super DSS Róka of the Undertow
Action:

The wince was not particularly reassuring. Róka offered Daedalus an unimpressed look, but he had plenty enough other conversation he needed to make; if he collapsed when they all got there, or if his body gave out more fully, that would be -- as some had said -- a skill issue. Tragic, really. And also very much not their problem.

It was absolutely the time to socialize, it seemed, regardless of if they had intention to or not. There was no objective reason to completely disregard Selinur's greeting, even if they wanted to; it'd gain them nothing of advantage. So they gave him a response. "One might say the same for you," Róka responded, offering him back a smile every bit as insincere as his own, and then turned away just in time to catch Kaifeng's wave; he was making an appearance without his... whatever the appropriate -- or inappropriate -- term for him and Helene's relationship was. Nothing mildly derogatory was coming to mind.

Who was he with? Some rabbit, maybe a hare? They didn't think they recognized that one; they'd need to eavesdrop or request a name later. There was an easy enough solution to that, if Kaifeng was cooperative, but before they did anything along those lines they needed to know what sort of dangers Daedalus would hold.

Fang had been bad enough. Physical pain was irrelevant. But magic like that had been --

Róka wasn't going to make themself so vulnerable in front of bloody Kaifeng and some rabbit if there was anything along those lines, was the point. They smiled at Kaifeng with considerably more feigned sincerity than they'd offered Selinur, returned his wave in kind --

And turned to look at the things guarding each bridge, slow, measured. What. What was that. Something in the air? No. Something else. That impulse, so foreign to them -- but what if -- ?

Name: Anakeion Squire of Castor
Action: using her action this round to cough on smog, would like to crawl into a hole and disappear for the rest of the encounter, thanks <3

Anakeion had her mouth open mid-sentence when the teleport hit, and immediately embarrassed herself by coughing and wheezing and choking on smog, very valiantly trying her best to not flush a vibrant pink as she was nearly bent double. Okay!! Great!! Night off to an incredible start!! Fffffuck her chest hurt. (Cepheus clapped her on the back a few times, which didn't help much, but it was the thought that counted.) Could she be cool for maybe, like, five minutes? The ego boost would've been a lot.

Aside from the nasty-a** air, though, this seemed like it might be simple? Simplish? Not horrible? She really super did not want to touch, uh, any of those, but life and trials of being a magical girl, Anakeion guessed, sometimes she had to fist sludge. --Which was not how she was ever going to phrase it, ever, ideally not even in her head ever again, so??

Encke and Basiluzzo were a welcome sight, though. Not that she was gonna, uh, bother them, or anything. Maybe she would make a friend? Maybe she would crawl into a ******** hole for space stoats or whatever and disappear until everything was said and done. That was also starting to feel pretty good, as options went.

Name: Sailor Cepheus of Squids
Action: hi encke hi basiluzzo c:

It wasn't that Cepheus didn't love her sister. She did, usually, about as much as any given teenage girl loved their older siblings who they had a good relationship with? But... Anakeion had gotten overbearing, over the last half-a-decade or so, and it had only really gotten worse now that Cepheus had magic.

It was probably a mid-twenties crisis, or something, she didn't know. Anakeion tried very hard to not actually vent to Cepheus, ever, which Cepheus did appreciate, but it did mean that a lot of the time she felt like she was being wrangled into a child leash with some bows and bells on it. Which got rougher and rougher every year, given she was turning eighteen this year, and no matter how little she felt prepared to be an adult, she was pretty sure Anakeion was prepared for that exponentially less.

So she did the only thing that really sounded reasonable, which was 'wander over towards the nearest adults she knew and that she recognized as vaguely responsible people', and in this case Encke and Basiluzzo were the only ones she immediately recognized at all. "Hi," Cepheus said, and waved.

Vela super senshi of bonfires

Listening to it was a story she had heard a lot lately, chaos like pollution spreading across a world, it wasn't a weird story, it was really a pretty normal story for the endless battles they fought. Yea the big problem was when it took on a physical form, that always was a problem. She had never heard of that not being a problem. As far as she knew there was no such thing as a good chaos manifestation. "Oh wow that sounds like something out of a Dungeons and Dragons book." She said with a nervous laugh. She wasn't worried about getting what this world had, if that were a thing, she would have gotten something by now. Going from world to world helping others.

"I'm ready to go wherever you tell me to go." She said in a confident tone. "I'm ready to fight." She wasn't about to give up before they even started. Vela liked fighting. She liked having a clear goal, which made trying to fix her own world so hard since who was to say how a world had to be repaired? She had been in some places that were like a test rather than a battle. She shook her head trying to focus.

Eternal Sailor Alastor

On one hand, splitting into groups was a practical tactical approach and had many advantages. On the other hand, many in the group were still basic senshi, or pages. Alastor understood that rank did not really dictate experience, but in the face of Chaos he knew that they tended to be more susceptible to its influence.

A deep-seeded Chaos that had the power to pollute a whole world and manifest now into grotesque monsters was no enemy to take lightly. For all his hubris and certainty that he could handle anything, he was far more cautious when it came to the others in the group.

He didn’t care where he went as long as he and Lucien stayed together.

There was no satisfaction in finding that the Chaos had attained power enough to take on multiple forms, but perhaps there was some relief in being able to see them. It made it easier to plan, or to attack.

Alastor eyed the things guarding the bridges. If they were new then he supposed the Chaos was still spreading. Amongst the crowd were some familiar faces, but many of them were still new to him. He wanted to trust that they would be enough.

Lucien’s tail brushed against him enough times that he had to hide the smirk of amusement, more so when he felt the pressure of Lucien’s claws. He must have been holding himself back. “Are you worried about me falling in? I’ll do my best not to. If I wanted to swim, I’d go to Arista. Even Villefort is more appealing,” he murmured.

His eyes moved slowly as he took in the crowd and the state of the world. Daedalus’ physical health was not inspiring, pre-existing condition or not, but he admired his drive to save his world. Alastor was reassured that he and Lucien wouldn’t take anything back home worse than the cold Atticus and Michael already shared.

“I’m glad they stayed home,” he mused. “I would have worried about their health if they’d come. These conditions are hardly ideal for improvement. Perhaps you and I will stop at Alastor and clean up before we head home.”

The air smelled foul and clung to him; it burned his nose and down his throat. If he squinted, it eased the burn in his eyes. He could still see well enough, though the conditions were far from ideal.

Super Sailor Ymir

Ymir wasn’t terribly interested in saving anything.

He knew that it could be done, that it had been done, and had even been there for it once. He knew at some point he would have to concern himself with his own world more than he had since he had awoken from stasis, that what they would do here and what they had done on Alastor was imperative to his world’s survival. He knew that many of those who had helped before and would help again were committed to expunging Chaos from as many worlds as possible, and he knew that, though he knew so few of them personally, countless would likely answer the call should he decide to ask, simply for the chance to do so.

But Ymir could not have cared less.

Well, perhaps he could have. He had allowed Surtur to talk him into this, after all. He could have stayed behind. Nothing and no one had forced him to be here, yet here he was. Surely that indicated some level of care.

(If asked, Ymir would insist he allowed himself to be coaxed along only because Earth was far too hot at this time of year. He had been hopeful that some other world would not be.)

Ymir had no questions. He had no concerns. He offered no well wishes, disinterested as he was in pointless platitudes. He stood near Surtur, putting himself a step behind, not seeking protection so much as avoiding notice. Surtur knew Daedalus but Ymir did not, and had only heard vague details of their association. The rest he barely glanced over.

They arrived and Ymir said nothing. He shifted closer to Surtur to avoid separation (intentional or not), but had no other reaction to their new surroundings or the trials they might soon face. This place meant nothing to him. The Chaos here meant nothing to him. Perhaps they would succeed as they had on Alastor, as others had since then on different worlds. Perhaps life would be restored and this world would prosper.

It hardly seemed worth it to Ymir.

-

Yvoire, Squire of Ganymede

It was strange to be here without so many of his friends. Yvoire stood next to Reims—within touching distance, though he hadn’t let himself reach out for Reims yet. A nervous shiver went through him, but Yvoire did his best to suppress it. He stood straight and, though not tall, at least appeared as if he were capable of helping. He had done this twice already, after all. Sure, a part of him remained afraid, and another part of him would always mourn what Chaos had done, but he knew he was capable. He knew that, together, they could save another world—that he could help, and that by doing so he was righting wrongs he may not yet fully understand.

Yvoire clutched at his parasol, felt the thrum of magic within him and let himself be comforted by it. He and Reims might be without their usual gaggle of friends, but they weren’t alone. One of Ephesus’ dads was here if they needed help, and there were so many others.

Yvoire turned to Reims and offered a small smile.

There was another part of him that secretly liked the chance to do this together—without Cynthus screeching, or Ephesus and Amarynthos being all lovey dovey, or having to share Reims’ attention with Dering or Rose. This time, maybe it could be like it was when they went to their Wonders together. He had Reims to himself. Selfishly, he liked that.

Selfishly, he hoped Reims did too.

Reims, Squire of Ganymede

Already, Reims was glad their friends were sick or otherwise preoccupied or he had conveniently forgotten to mention that he would be going to this world. He’d told Yvoire, but he kept it to himself instead of telling Rose or Dering or Cynthus, who he was pretty sure was sick as well.

It wasn’t because he thought any of them were incapable or that Yvoire was stronger or whatever, but after the last time? After not being able to keep them all together and safe, even with Mary’s help? He knew it was selfish, but he was grateful for the chance to try and regain some of his confidence back.

With Evie, whom he knew the best out of the others, and had worked with him on their Wonders for months now, he felt as though they would have a chance to work off of each other and figure things out.

He caught Evie smiling at him out of the corner of his eye, and part of him wondered if maybe Evie was grateful for a chance to work closer together as well.

“You ready for this?” he asked with a small grin in return. He felt a little more relaxed knowing he only needed to keep an eye out for Evie, and Evie only had to keep an eye out for him in return. “If you want a better view, just let me know,” he said and gestured to his shoulder. He’d seen the way Ephesus’ dad had a cat on his shoulders. He could totally carry Evie, too! Probably.
