Title: A calm ride Type: SOLO Key People: Word Count: 642 Summary:
Horseback riding was Inayah's favorite thing to do. She felt so free and happy when she was at her grandmother's ranch.
She was spending the weekend with her grandparents. She usually spends weekends with them. The drive there was only around an hour long and she always looked forward to spending time with them.
She made her way toward the barn. She tried to be silent as she approached the barn. She liked to try and sneak up on Charlie. Charlie was the horse that her grandparents had brought for her five years ago. She peeked up from the barn door and saw Charlie in his stall looking straight at her.
"You always know when I am around." She smiled and entered the barn. She went over to Charlie and stroked him.
She got him out of his stall and put a saddle on him.
"Let's go riding."
The wind blew through Inayah's hair as she galloped across the grassy hills on her horse, Charlie. The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the landscape. Inayah felt like she was in a dream - it was so beautiful and serene out here.
As she rode, she let her mind wander. She thought about her life in the city. Being part of the cause, part of protecting people.
It was kind of overwhelming, she was a twelve-year-old with magical powers battling evil.
But when she was here, with Charlie, all of that didn't matter. She was just Inayah, the girl who loved to ride horses. As they approached a small creek, Inayah reined Charlie in and dismounted. She let him drink from the creek while she sat on a nearby rock and watched the sun dip below the horizon.
As the sun started to dip to make way for the moon she and Charlie made their way back to the stable.
"Look at how the time has passed Charlie. I need to get to my chores. Let me get your dinner ready."
Charlie nickered softly in response as Inayah walked over to the feed room. She grabbed a scoop of feed and mixed it with some supplements, knowing that Charlie needed his nutrients.
As she made her way out of the barn, she heard a rustling in the bushes. She stopped in her tracks, her eyes scanning the area for any signs of danger. Suddenly, a small figure emerged from the bushes.
She narrowed her eyes and looked around to make sure she was the only one out. The only person who would see her power up if need be is Charlie. But as she was about do anything the figure coming towards her.
She frowned, whatever it was it was hopping.
"What in the world?"
The figure got a little closer and that's when she saw it. It was just a little rabbit.
Inayah let out a sigh of relief as she watched the rabbit hop closer to her. She patted her chest, trying to calm down her racing heart. She had been on edge lately, with all the battles she had been fighting in the city. She was grateful for the peacefulness of the ranch, where she could let her guard down and just be herself.
She smiled and crouched down, watching the rabbit as it hopped closer to her. It seemed to trust her, as it didn't run away when she reached out her hand to pet it. Its fur was soft and warm, and Inayah felt a sense of calm wash over her as she stroked its back.
"Hey there little guy," she whispered. "What are you doing out here all alone?"
The rabbit just blinked up at her with its big, innocent eyes. Inayah felt a pang of sadness wash over her. She knew that not everyone in the world was as innocent as this little rabbit
Title: Wishing Tree Type: Key People: Word Count: 573 Summary:
Inayah was thrilled to learn that the Star Festival had finally arrived in her town, after having heard so much about it from her friends and family. She had never had the opportunity to participate before, so she was eager to make the most of this exciting event. Her priority was to visit the famous Wish Tree, which she had heard so much about. Located in the bustling Town Square, the Wish Tree was a beloved tradition in the community. People would write their wishes on a small piece of paper and hang it on one of the tree's branches. Later, they would read another person's wish and do their best to make it come true.
As Inayah approached the Wish Tree, she took a moment to take in its beauty. The tree towered over her, with its branches stretching out to the sky. The leaves rustled in the breeze, creating a peaceful atmosphere. It was truly a beautiful tree with spreading branches. Thick leaves and beautiful purple flowers dangle from the branches, along with a myriad of different colored papers with handwritten wishes. It even had cute different-colored crystals hanging around them. There was a sign that said free and to take one. She chose the Opal colored one. The city has decorated the tree with small, starlike ornaments and glistening lights. Inayah sat down in front of the tree, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. She took a deep breath and began to think about what she would write on her wish paper. She wanted to make sure that her wish was meaningful and would have a positive impact on her life.
After some contemplation, Inayah finally decided on what to write. She carefully wrote her wish on the small piece of paper and tied it to a branch on the tree. As she stepped back to admire her work, she felt a sense of hope and excitement. She was eager to see what the future held and how her wish would come true.
She walked around the tree, looking at the different wishes hanging from its branches. Some were simple, like wishing for good health or happiness. Others were more complex, like wanting to find true love or to travel the world. Inayah read through each of them, feeling touched by the hopes and dreams of the people in her community.
Finally, she found a wish that caught her eye. It was a wish for a child who was battling a rare disease, and the wish was for a cure. Inayah felt a pang in her heart as she read the wish. She knew how devastating it must be for the child and their family to go through something like that.
Inayah decided that she would do everything in her power to fulfil this child's wish.
Being young herself she knew what if felt to be powerless in the face of illness, but she was determined to make a difference.
The child hadn't wished for a cure, hadn't wished for anything for their selves but made a wish for their mom.
Inayah's heart swelled with compassion as she thought about the child's selflessness.
Though everything that they were going through they were only thinking about other people besides themselves.
She folded the paper and put it inside her pockets. She was going to do something about it, but first she wanted to enjoy the festival for a bit. .

Title: A simple request Type: Solo Key People: Inayah Word Count:615 Summary:
She decided to fulfil the child's wish. But it wouldn't be so easy. She was twelve years old herself and not a lot of things someone like her can do.
But the wish was not a simple task. The child had wished for her mom to find love and peace after her death. She didn't want her mom to mourn for her death, but to live her life to the fullest.
As she pondered over the child's wish, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness. The young girl's words were both heartwarming and heartbreaking all at once. It was clear that this child had experienced more pain and sorrow than any twelve-year-old should ever have to endure.
But, she was determined to fulfil the child's wish. She knew that she had to find a way to bring peace and happiness to the child's mother. She thought long and hard about what she could do to help.
The wishes didn't have a name or address. So she wouldn't be able to find or see the child. But she wanted to do something.
Days passed by as she racked her brain for a solution to the child's wish. She spent sleepless nights thinking of ways to bring happiness to the mother and alleviate her pain. Finally, an idea struck her.
She decided to write a letter to the child and stick it to the wish tree. Hopefully the child or someone else who needed to see it would find solace in the letter.
As she sat down to pen the letter, she felt the weight of the child's wish on her shoulders. She knew that the letter had to be perfect, it had to touch the hearts of whoever read it. Slowly, she began to write.
"Dear brave child,
Your wish has touched my heart deeply. I cannot imagine what you have gone through, but it is clear to me that you are a truly special person. Your love for your mother is truly pure and selfless.
I want you to know that your mother is not alone in this world. She has you - a beautiful, kind, and loving daughter who will always be with her in spirit. She will always carry a piece of you with her wherever she goes.
I know it may seem impossible for things to get better, but trust me - they will. Time has a way of healing even the deepest wounds. Your mother will find happiness again, and so will you.
You have taught me so much with your selflessness
I have no doubt that you will continue to spread love and kindness wherever you go. Your light will shine bright, and it will guide those who are lost in darkness. I promise you that I will do everything in my power to make sure your wish comes true. I will spread your message of love, hope, and selflessness to as many people as I can. Your story deserves to be shared with the world.
I hope that when you look down upon us from wherever you are, you see the good that you have done and the kindness that you have shown. You are a true inspiration to us all. With love and admiration, A stranger who cares"
She folded the letter neatly and walked over to the wish tree. She pinned the letter to a branch and sat back, gazing up at the tree. As she sat there, a sense of calm came over her. She knew that she had done everything in her power to fulfill the child's wish.
While at the tree she decided to take another charm. This time she chose the orange one.
Title: Penguin relocation Type: SOLO Key People: Inayah Word Count: 977 Summary:
Quote:
While Destiny did get cold in the winter time and snow, Inayah wouldn't say it was the type of weather that a penguin would have thrived in. But as she looked up from the bench that she was sitting on at the park she was surprised to see a group of penguins waddling along the sidewalk.
Most birds to her knowledge preferred to migrate south for the winter, leaving the city devoid of their vibrant presence.
But the flightless birds were a sight to behold. The only thing she could say was that Destiny City was very weird. The penguins were slowly becoming a delightful curiosity for the locals. Although the people of Destiny City were not used to such peculiar company, they welcomed these plump and friendly creatures with open arms.
But Inayah was scared for the wingless birds. They seemed to be fearless going up to people.
Inayah, being a compassionate soul, felt an immediate need to protect these vulnerable creatures. She couldn't help but wonder how these penguins had ended up in Destiny City, far away from their natural habitat.
Inayah knew that these penguins were not equipped to survive in the urban environment.
But what could a twelve year old do?
Inayah pondered this question as she watched the penguins waddle closer, their fluffy feathers and shiny eyes captivating her. She couldn't let these innocent creatures suffer in this unfamiliar place, and she knew she had to do something, no matter how small her actions may seem.
Rushing to her feet, Inayah approached the closest penguin cautiously. It tilted its head, as if studying her with curiosity. "Hey there, little buddy," she whispered, extending a hand towards it. The penguin hesitated for a moment before stepping forward and nuzzling her palm gently.
She took out her phone and went to Google's search engine.
Inayah typed in "What to do if penguins are found in an urban area." She scrolled through the search results, her eyes scanning the screen for any helpful information. After a few moments, she stumbled upon an article that provided some guidance.
According to the article, the best course of action was to contact a local animal rescue or wildlife conservation organization. They would have the expertise and resources to safely transport the penguins back to their natural habitat. Inayah felt a surge of relief knowing that there were people who could help these precious creatures.
She then looked up Destiny's city nearest wildlife conservation. She hoped that she could find one that would be willing to take in the penguins.
nayah quickly jotted down the contact information for the nearest wildlife conservation organization and dialed their number on her phone. As she waited for someone to pick up, she glanced back at the penguins, who were now gathering more attention from passersby. It was clear that they needed help soon.
Finally, a voice came through the phone, "Hello, this is Destiny Wildlife Conservation Center. How can we assist you today?"
Inayah took a deep breath and explained the situation, emphasizing the urgency of the matter. The person on the other end listened intently and assured her that they would send a team to assess the situation as soon as possible.
Relieved, Inayah thanked them profusely and hung up. She knew that help was on its way, but she couldn't just stand by and wait. She decided to stay with the penguins until help arrived, ensuring that no harm would come to them in the meantime.
Inayah couldn't help but wonder if they would be able to be release to the wild where they belong. They were too friendly. They might go up to the wrong person and might be hurt or kept as a pet.
As the minutes ticked by, Inayah's worry grew. She observed the penguins, their playful nature and innocent eyes captivating her once more. They seemed so out of place in the city, yet so trusting of humans. How could she ensure their safety even after they were returned to their natural habitat?
Just then, a van with the logo of Destiny Wildlife Conservation Center pulled up by the sidewalk. Inayah's heart skipped a beat as a team of experts stepped out. They were equipped with nets and crates, ready to capture and transport the penguins.
Inayah rushed over to greet them, explaining her concerns about the penguins' future. The team leader, a tall and experienced wildlife biologist named Dr. Carter, listened attentively to her words. He understood her fears and shared them too.
"You're right," Dr. Carter said, his voice filled with genuine concern. "These penguins have grown accustomed to human interaction here in Destiny City. Releasing them directly into the wild could put them at risk.
We have connections with a sanctuary that are willing to come and pick up the penguins. Their facility is specially designed to accommodate animals that cannot be released into the wild. They will ensure the penguins receive proper care and live in a safe environment where they can continue to thrive."
Inayah's eyes lit up with relief. She watched as the team carefully captured each penguin, gently placing them in individual crates. The penguins seemed surprisingly calm, almost as if they understood that this was for their own well-being.
Inayah breathed a sigh of relief as she watched the last of the penguins being load up. Dr. Carter turned to her and gave her his business card. "If you ever want to check up with the penguins give me a call. I will see what I can find out for you."
Him and his team got into their vans and drove away.
Inayah stood there for a moment, watching the van disappear into the distance. She clutched Dr. Carter's business card in her hand, feeling a sense of accomplishment the penguins were finally on their way to safety.

Title: Teaching a Karen Type: SOLO Key People: Inayah Word Count: 848 Summary:
Quote:
Dear Diary.
Last week was a long tiring week. I held a horse riding class. That was the day I met Karen. She was rude and entitled. She couldn’t believe that I a fourteen year old was going to be the one to teach her and the two others who came to the ranch.
Despite Karen's initial skepticism, I remained calm and composed as I led the group through the basics of horseback riding. I thought that maybe as the day goes on that she would be more opened minded and wouldn’t be problem. Boy, was I wrong.
Karen's attitude only worsened as the day progressed. She scoffed at my instructions, rolled her eyes at my demonstrations, and even made snide remarks to the other students. But I refused to let her negativity dampen my passion for teaching.
As the sun began to set and the class came to an end, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment in Karen's behavior. I had hoped to share my love for horses and riding with the group, but it seemed like Karen was determined to ruin the experience for everyone.
Well Diary, you probably thinking that all that was last week it was everything is fine. That I probably will never have to see or hear from that woman again. Well your wrong.
I was having dinner with my grandma that night after the class when there was a knock at the door. It was the police.
Karen had filed a complaint against me, accusing me of being negligent in my teaching and putting her in danger during the riding lesson. I was shocked by her audacity and the false claims she was making.
The police listened to both of our sides of the story, and thankfully, the other students who were present came to my defense. They explained how Karen had been the one causing trouble throughout the entire lesson and how I had handled the situation professionally.
After what seemed like hours of back and forth, the police ultimately sided with me and dismissed Karen's complaint. As they left, Karen shot me a look of pure hatred, promising that this wasn't over.
But as I closed the door behind them, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. I knew that I had done nothing wrong and that I wouldn't let someone like Karen bring me down. This experience only fueled my determination to continue pursuing my passion for teaching horseback riding, no matter what obstacles may come my way.
And was not wrong it was not over. Since the police didn’t work she called CPS on my grandma.
I couldn't believe Karen's persistence in trying to cause trouble for me and my family. When Child Protective Services showed up at our door, I was filled with a mix of anger and fear. My grandma, who had always been my rock, was now being dragged into this mess because of Karen's vendetta against me.
I sat through the interview with the CPS worker, explaining the situation as calmly and truthfully as I could. My grandma also spoke up, defending me and our peaceful life together. Despite the stressful situation, I knew that we had done nothing wrong and that the truth would prevail.
After what felt like an eternity, CPS concluded their investigation and found no evidence to support Karen's claims. They assured us that everything was in order and that they would not be taking any further action.
As we closed the door behind the CPS worker, I felt a mix of relief and frustration. Karen's attempts to sabotage my passion for teaching and tarnish my reputation had failed once again. But I knew deep down that she wouldn't stop there. Karen's determination to bring me down seemed unending, and I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered after each encounter with her.
Despite the turmoil she had caused, I refused to let Karen's actions deter me from pursuing my dreams. If anything, her relentless attacks only fueled my determination to prove her wrong and show the world what I was truly capable of.
With the unwavering support of my grandma and the other students who had witnessed Karen's behavior, I continued to teach horseback riding lessons at the ranch. Each day brought new challenges, but I faced them head-on with a strength I never knew I had.
But then yesterday happened. Come to find out she had been gossiping about me and my grandparents and our farm.
Karen's vicious gossip had spread like wildfire in our small town, tarnishing my reputation and casting a shadow of doubt over the sanctuary my grandparents and I had built together. Rumors twisted our peaceful existence into something unrecognizable, painting us as neglectful and dangerous.
She was telling everyone that I a twelve year old should be focusing on school and being a kid instead of being forced to work at the farm.
Well diary. I will let you know if anything else comes up with that crazy lady. That was the latest attack from her.
Violin Dreams Type: SOLO Key People: Inayah Word Count: 724 Summary: Playing the Violin for the elderly.
Dear Diary: For months, I have been diligently learning the art of playing the Violin. Each day, I pour my heart and soul into practicing, determined to become a master at this beautiful instrument. Though I may not be there yet, I can play a few tunes without causing too much of a screech.
But my true motivation for learning the Violin is to bring joy to others. And today, I am about to embark on my first performance in an elderly home. As I walk through the quiet halls, my hands tremble with nervous excitement. The residents sit in their chairs, some dozing off, but most wearing expressions of loneliness and longing.
I take a deep breath and close my eyes before starting to play. The music fills the air, delicate and enchanting. It weaves its way around the room, gently stirring something within each resident.
Slowly, they start to awaken from their drowsy state. Their faces light up with recognition as they listen to the familiar tune. Some even hum along or tap their feet in time with the beat. My heart swells with warmth at their reactions.
I continue to play, letting the music lead me as I pour every ounce of emotion into each note. The room comes alive with the magic of the Violin, transporting everyone to a different place and time. And for a brief moment, it feels like all the troubles and worries of old age have vanished for these residents. Their faces soften, and a sense of peace washes over them as they lose themselves in the music.
I love learning new instruments. And when I learn and is comfortable with my playing I would go and play for the elderly.
I already know how to play the guitar and piano, but there was something about the Violin that called to me. Its hauntingly beautiful sound and the way it seemed to express emotions that words couldn't capture. As I played the final notes of my performance, a gentle hush fell over the room. The residents sat in silence, their eyes shining with unshed tears and grateful smiles.
Playing for the residents at this nursing home fills my heart with joy. But at the same time, it breaks my heart to see how many of them are alone and forgotten by their families. I can't imagine ever leaving my own parents in a place like this, but I also know that I won't always be able to care for them myself. It's a constant struggle between wanting to do what's best for my loved ones and facing the reality of our mortality.
But in that moment, as the last notes of the violin faded away, I made a silent vow to myself. I would not let my own parents end up in a place like this. I would find a way to care for them, to keep them close and surrounded by love.
As I packed up my Violin and prepared to leave, a frail hand reached out to touch my arm. I turned to see Mrs. Thompson, a sweet old lady who always sat quietly in the corner during my performances.
"Thank you, dear," she whispered, her voice fragile yet filled with warmth. "Your music... it reminds me of my husband. He used to play the Violin for me when we were young."
A tear slipped down Mrs. Thompson's weathered cheek, and a pang of empathy squeezed my heart. "I'm glad I could bring back those memories for you," I replied softly, kneeling beside her chair. Her eyes were brimming with unshed tears as she continued, "He passed away many years ago, but your music made me feel like he was right here with me again."
I clasped her hand in mine, feeling the delicate bones beneath her fragile skin. "I believe that love never truly leaves us, Mrs. Thompson. It lingers in the melodies of our hearts and the memories we hold dear." She nodded, a small smile playing on her lips as she gazed into the distance, lost in a realm of nostalgia.
Before I left, I promised Mrs. Thompson that I would return to play for her again soon. Seeing the gratitude and solace my music brought to her touched me deeply, reaffirming my belief in the power of music to heal and connect

Title: Prank Call Type: Solo Key People: Inayah Word Count:760 Summary:
Inayah looked down at the phone receiver in her hands. She had just received a rather strange phone call.
The voice on the line had echoed her own with an eerie accuracy, sending a chill down Inayah's spine. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this call than just a simple prank. As she stared at the disconnected phone, her mind raced with questions. Who had called her? How did they know so much about her life? And most importantly, what were they warning her about?
While Inayah didn’t scare easily and loved scary and spooky things, this situation felt different. The familiarity of the voice and the intimate knowledge it possessed left her unsettled.
There wasn’t much a twelve year old such as herself could do.
She was home alone. Her parents had went out on one of their date nights. And she had no siblings. Her parents only wanted one child.
The phone ranged again.
Inayah hesitated before picking up the phone again, unsure of what to expect this time. She brought it to her ear, her heart pounding in her chest as she waited to hear that familiar voice on the other end.
But this time, it was different. The voice that came through was distorted and garbled, as if someone was intentionally trying to disguise themselves. A shiver ran down Inayah's spine as she strained to make out the words being spoken.
"You... must... leave..." the voice crackled through the line, filled with urgency.
The call disconnected.
Inayah felt a wave of fear wash over her as she placed the phone back on the receiver. The urgency in the distorted voice had been unmistakable, leaving her with a sense of foreboding that she couldn't shake.
She glanced around her living room, suddenly feeling like every shadow held a hidden threat. Should she leave? Where would she go? Her mind raced with thoughts of seeking help or finding a safe place.
When the phone ranged again she picked it up and shouted.
"Who are you? What do you want from me?" Her voice echoed through the empty house, the fear and frustration clear in her tone.
“Inayah who are you talking to? Is something wrong? Do me and your father need to come home?”
Inayah felt a ping of guilt. Her parents don’t really get the chance to get out nowadays.
“No mom everything’s ok. Just a prank call.”
Her mother sighed. “What did the prank caller say?”
Inayah felt what her mother asked was weird but she answered her.
"The first call was someone pretending to be me. The second call was garbled and urgent, asking me to leave," Inayah explained, trying to downplay the uneasiness in her voice.
Her mother cursed silently under her breath. She heard her mother talking to her father.
“Those damn Jamisons…”
Her mother got back on the phone with her. “Listen sweetheart everything is ok. It’s just the Jamsions sons playing around. They have been doing that lately. Halloween is around the corner. Just ignore them.”
As her mother's words sank in, Inayah felt a sense of relief wash over her. Of course, it made sense now. The Jamisons were known for their mischievous pranks around the neighborhood, especially as Halloween approached. Inayah released a nervous laugh, feeling foolish for letting her imagination run wild.
"Okay, Mom. Thanks for checking. I'll just ignore them if they call again," she reassured her mother, the tension slowly draining from her body.
As she hanged up the phone it ranged again. Picking up the phone Inayah asked. “Noah, is that you.”
The person on the other end seemed panicked. “No, this is not Noah this is… umm. Ghostface. And umm… Your in danger.”
Inayah heard someone laughing in the background.
The person on the phone seemed to be talking to someone else. “I think she knows it’s us.”
“I am going to call your parents.”
As soon as Inayah said that the line went dead.
Her mom was right it was the Jamison’s. The calls had stopped that night. She found out later that once she confronted them they called other people to harass and prank.
Inayah couldn't help but roll her eyes at the antics of the Jamison brothers. As she settled back onto the couch, the fear and tension that had gripped her earlier slowly melted away. She knew that Halloween was always a time for pranks and mischief, but she made a mental note to keep an eye out for any further calls from the neighborhood troublemakers.
