Reims, Page of GanymedeThere was a part of Reims that didn’t know why he was there. Another part knew he was there -- because this was who he really was. He knew it was kind of cheating -- hiding behind a magical outfit. But he didn’t have to worry about his life outside of being a knight like this.
He wasn’t really there to win. He just wanted to try it out. Or at least observe and see if there was anyone he knew. He had a lot to make up for, but he hoped the people he wanted to like him would, well… give him a chance.
Even if he didn’t really deserve it.

Sailor ZenobiaZenobia looked at the others in the tournament. She wasn't sure if other chibi's would have signed up. She wasn't really sure what she had gotten herself caught up in. It seemed fun at first. The idea of it all. But now she wasn't really sure. She was thinking and wasn't really paying attention to anything. All she knew was someone shouted begin and everyone started running. What was rules? What was she supposed to be doing. She had signed up for some hunt. But what she was supposed to hunt she wasn't sure and wasn't paying attention. Lost in her thoughts, Zenobia stumbled forward, caught off guard by the sudden rush of others darting past her. She tried to gather her bearings but found herself swept up in the chaos of the tournament.

Beira, Super Senshi of Loneliness
If Beira were being honest, he wasn’t very passionate about catching the jackalope. He’d have been happy to just spot it, but he wasn’t sure he wanted to grab it. He hadn’t come from a home that ever had small animals or pets and it wasn’t like he went out of his way to be around them on his own. He liked things in a very particular way so he wasn’t particularly eager about catching it, nor was he competitive enough to overcome his restraint.
But, he was out here, so he was going to at least try.
Although, it was difficult to look for a creature that small when there were so many other things to see and admire out here. He’d come from a world covered in ice, but everything here seemed so alive.
He walked at a slow pace–slower than he should have, given that this was a hunt but it was hard to really feel bothered or rushed.

Belmont, Squire of Jupiter
Belmont was competitive. He loved a rush. He wanted to grab the jackalope, partly to win and partly because he just wanted to look at it. A strange creature from another world? Of course he wanted to see it!
As soon as it took off, he was after it, and while he’d lost it for a bit, he spotted it.
Just out of reach! Always too far away to make out any real details, but he wasn’t going to give up. It was still early.
He got close enough to get a good look, but it evaded him too quickly.
Still, Belmont was in good spirits, and he found being out in this beautiful environment rejuvenated him.

Dering, Squire of Lysithea
Dering was not competitive. The idea of being first, of actually winning? No, that was terrifying. He was here to see if he could do it, to at least try.
And, really, to try and make connections or feel a little braver about this whole thing.
Maybe, a part of him had hoped to run into people he knew, but so far there was just a lot of new faces. In some ways, that was fine! He didn’t mind! He just also did not really know how to approach them and wasn’t sure how to strike up a conversation.
Catching the jackalope seemed like it was going to be an easier task–especially because he was so sure he’d just seen it.
…And yet, he nearly gave himself a heart attack in the process and hurried off in a slightly different direction. It wasn’t dangerous! He didn’t know why he’d done it! He’d just panicked, and–
Oh, Reims!
He shuffled to a stop before he could get close enough to bump into him.
“Reims,” he greeted, poorly hiding how excited he was just to finally find someone he knew. “I didn’t know you were here, too! Do you want to team up?”

Sailor Grieve of GrieveThis was it, this was what Grieve had been waiting for. The hunt! The scent of blood, sweat, and desperation on the wind. The crashing of bodies through the brush. Hearts and bodies racing together as they all converged on... A jackalope. Grieve's grin faltered. That they had to bring back alive.Grieve kicked a rock.

Squire Halle of LysitheaSetting up like it was a track meet instead of a hunting game in space, Halle sprinted out into the woods, opting for fast over cautious for once. Being near a princess and surrounded by other members of Order with no massive monster or burning building sight, this was possibly the most safe he'd felt since awakening last summer. It felt so freeing, to not worry about himself or anybody else, and to push his powered limits for a game, no stakes involved. Unless he counted the possibility of beating Mechelen. Which he totally did.

Transcendent Eternal Anser of GeeseSo she needed to find a jackalope. Not out of her wheelhouse, honestly. Ritual murder of creatures seemed to be kinda a thing that the Anserians had done, and she had no problem doing it again. She had hunted down one to transcend in the first place, anyway. This wasn't going to be a murder, though. Just a hunt. Semantics. Now where was the thing hiding in the Cybelean forest? Finding something on Anser was something she was a bit more familiar with than, well, this. For one, Anser was ... Well, there was a lot of forest in some areas, but not quite like this. That she had found. Anser was huge.

Dumuzi, Page of PlutoCapture a rabbit. Easy. He had this in his sleep. The rabbit had like... horns, or something. They were calling it a jacka...lope? Sounded like some mythical homeworld planet bullshit. He didn't understand that but, but it made sense that the things on homeworlds were different than Earth. Probably. Where was Richtersveld? This wasn't her thing to do. Too much getting her hands dirty. He just wanted to know what the ******** a jackalope actually was.

Promethei, Squire of MercuryThis was bringing him back, in a lot of ways. Sure, when he was a boy scout in San Antonio, he had never done a search for a jackalope, but all the same. The wilderness, untouched (relatively) by humanity, was a breath of fresh air. Instead of setting off when the others did, he stopped for a moment to take a deep breath. In, and out. Imhotep would understand his lag. "Alright. We should probably get going." Promethei snorted. "We're a bunch of chemists though. Not sure we're gonna find a danggum jackalope." Probably stood a better chance together than apart, either way.

Transcendent Sailor Encke, Senshi of PlasmaLeaning back against a tree, Encke did his best to keep their attention on the presentation Cybele was giving. To say it succeeded was a stretch, not because they didn't care, but because Cybele had blossomed even more since he had last seen it. Encke's attention was on the trees, on the sky, on the ground, on the scents, on the forest itself. Being entrenched in storytelling as a field, though, at least gave him a loose idea of what jackalopes theoretically looked like. Rabbit creature. Right. There it was!! Encke's attention suddenly snapped to a little--not so little?--bunny creature making its way through the forest floor. If he wanted a chance of winning this thing, he needed to make sure to be quiet. Encke knew he was a bit of a glowstick, so it wasn't like he could hide the way a proper hunter would. Or like Cybele could, probably. [ encke has spotted the jackalope! ]

Erytheia listened to Cybele as she explained the Hunt. He was a bit worried about the jackalope, to be honest. It seemed outmatched already by the amount of people here. He hoped it was fast and smart. It would need to be. He worried, too, if he would be fast and smart. Would he be able to catch it? Would he even get a glimpse of it? It bolted from the cage and instantly disappeared in the undergrowth. Remembering the purple ribbon, Erytheia began hunting. ✪

Super MeissaMeissa scowled at the foliage that had decided to snag itself around her body. Her attention had been elsewhere and she had thus stumbled over a small ledge, not dangerous in the least, but as a result she now found herself in a patch of vegetation that almost seemed eager to detain her. But that was entirely silly. Her breathing came hard at fast as she struggled with the plant material before pulling free finally. What sort of flora was this planet capable of producing.
Just the sight of all this foliage made her long to see what her own world could become but for now she had a critter to catch. In the back of her mind though doubt had begun to worm its way inside.

Illyria **Has spotted the jackalope** Illyria's senses were working overtime. There were little hints here and there that the creature she was seeking had passed by her hiding place. Instead of sprinting about hither and thither the young cat had decided a new tactic. Why should she waste excessive energy with an active hunt when if she were lucky, the target could be flushed into the area in which she had concealed herself.
Ambush!
It was, in fact, not a bad idea. With everyone else moving through the terrain of Cybele, there was a small chance that the jackalope could be flushed out of its own hiding and fall right into her paws, so to speak. Then she could be return triumphant with the jackalope in her possession and still have plenty of energy to do other things. It was a shame that there hadn't been a chance to try the arm wrestling competition but it maybe was limited to actual human beings. Illyria's lithe body stiffened. Was that rustling?
Perking up, her ears swivelled back and forth, catching noises that the typical human could not perceive. Her body tensed as a creature entered her line of vision and her own purple orbs caught sight of that purple ribbon around the neck that they were told would be on the target jackalope. Bingo. Ducking down into a hunter's crouch did Illyria adjust her stance before darting out of her cover, and catching ... nothing but air between her paws. She had seen the animal, that was confirmed ... but darn that thing was quick to sprint away.
Moving further down the path that she had continued down, Illyria returned to the brush to hide once more. That had been exceedingly close so perhaps her ambush tactic could work again.

Eternal Myrrha Myrrha, after that first initial sighting, had begun to wonder if catching the jackalope would be as easy as it might have seen at the beginning of this little competition. For a moment she merely stood immobile before she linked her hands behind her back and gave a monstrous stretch before feeling the pull of muscles flexing just below the layer of her skin. It felt marvellous being able simply take the time to stretch like she was. The wings that now adorned her fuku fluttered in the perceptible breeze and the woman sighed.
With more power came more responsibility. The eternal senshi of scents wanted to find out more of what she was now capable of. The mystery of her own world's ending was a conundrum that needed solving as did finding out where a dear friend had ended up. Ever since that large battle on the hill, and the ensuing trip to the Moon, Myrrha had flown under the radar, but so to, did it seem, had Scylla. Now that she was an eternal, she wanted to reconnect with the Kraken senshi, but first, she needed information on whether Scylla was even still around.
With the thoughts that were roiling around in her mind Myrrha's attention was elsewhere as she took another small path that seemed barely travelled upon as she continued to look for another other glimpses of the creature she was trying to pursue.
