I'M ENTERING FOR TUNER
Proof of Participation: first part, third part
Number of Characters: 9 powered, 1 civ
Name: Sasha Perona

Nickname: Sash, Pepper, Hothead (the candy, she has a bowl of them at her desk)

Age: 21

Birthday: April 3rd

Sign: Aries

Gemstone: Follows your zodiac sign.

Blood Type: B-

Fav. Food: Incredibly spicy things BRING IT ON!!!

Hated Food: bland foods

School: Renegade Media job – Event Promotions

Hobbies:
Roller Derby: She likes skating, she likes being competitive, why not combine the two of them? That’s why she’s on one of the local women’s roller derby teams and takes it quite seriously, having gone to the championships a couple of times in the past. In her off time, she also practices for it by regularly skating and by keeping herself in shape. She also loves getting different types of safety gear for the sport and will yap on about it to anyone who will listen and encourages them to join. She has a pair of skates specifically for the derby and skates for practice and then there’s the skates for doing errands and…

Marathons: She either participates or volunteers for them, but most likely you’ve seen her at one of them if you’ve ever been to a marathon in the city. Whether it was just an event or for charity. She loves running and staying in shape and participating in marathons, either in a group or solo, helps her with her roller derby endurance too. Every morning when she wakes up she likes to go and train for any marathons she may be participating in. Or at night in some of the safer parts of the city.

Card Games: She wasn’t really interested in them until the city’s main roller derby arena had to be shut down for a few months because of a massive bed bug problem. And it was winter. Not a good time to go out and run marathons either. Which is when she started to learn card games for fun and realized that there was a lot more than just poker! Even if they include board games she’s still willing to play! She mostly plays with friends and sometimes does some group meetups for those wanting to try the new games. She’s even tried to introduce a few that could be played during break at work. If you mention to her that she wants to play, she’ll be right with you! And maybe even bet some cash too…

Virtues:
Enthusiastic: Do the everything! Well not everything, but she will be very much into it! New job? 110% every day! She has to convince a client to enter with their company? No problem! She’ll gladly throw herself into the situation if she needs to! She is also willing to try out new things, whether it’s learning a new system or needing to take more classes for her job, she won’t say no! She also tries to get other people to join in with her if possible.

Hard Working: She won’t kill herself for the job, but she will do everything that she can to get it done and get it done right! She really is passionate about what she is doing, and it doesn’t have to be just her paying job either. If she is volunteering somewhere, such as at a kid’s roller derby, or helping a friend, she tries to do her best and make sure that whomever she is doing it for is happy and satisfied.

Flaws:
Hot-headed: Sometimes, people have what’s called a RBF (Resting B**** Face). She doesn’t have that. She has a “constantly fired up face” that means you don’t want to mess with her! Although she tries to keep it down at work, sometimes it comes out anyway and woe to the first person who gets in the way of her! She has a hard time admitting her mistakes, or at least saying sorry, even if she will still try to correct whatever went wrong while grumbling the whole way. When one sees her go into an empty room and close the door, they know that she will be cussing up a storm for a few minutes and to not bother her. She tries not to let it control her, but sometimes a woman just has to vent, you know?

Out of my way!: Watch out! When she needs to get somewhere you don’t want to be in her path! It’s almost as though she gets tunnel vision when needing to get from point A to point B and many people have gotten an elbow in the side from her needing to get through. And she’s pretty good at it considering that she does roller derby! People have learned to just get out of her path if they see her walking quickly, but some poor souls or those who don’t know about her may find themselves up against a wall or with a sharp pain in their side. She doesn’t really care if people are in the way and if she hurts them.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: see art

Hair: see art

Face: see art

Clothes: Roller derby clothing! Something light and practical that she can move around in.

Negaverse Alias: Violarite

Challenge: “Time for a tune-up!”, “You tuning in?”, “Stay in tune or get out of my way.”

Uniform: Please see art

Weapon
Lieutenant Weapon: tuner
Captain Weapon: two push daggers with the bottom in the shape of a club
General Weapon: two bigger daggers decorated with clubs but more ornately

Prompt 2:
“Watch out! Coming through!” Sasha said before she zipped down the hallway, only barely passing the file cabinet to the left. She managed to deftly move around the edges, her skills in roller derby helping her dodge and weave and elbow whatever was in her way. Her coworkers scrambled out of her way lest they be hit on her race to the end. Unfortunately for Chad, he had been busy with the printer and hadn’t heard her warning and was pushed up against the printer. But since it was Chad, no one cared. Sasha continued on her way, her mind only telling her to get to the goal and that was the meeting room, where she would finally be putting up another presentation on something else that needed to be promoted. She had to convince some of the higher-ups that this was something that they needed to spend some effort on, and unfortunately her other coworkers had dropped the ball on getting it all ready, so it was up to her!

But she was up to the challenge. She always liked being able to prove that she was good at her job, and this was no different! Soon enough she had almost reached the meeting room door, and with the skill of someone who has had to stop suddenly way too many times on roller skates, she avoided hitting the door and instead stopping about a foot from it, straightening her hair a little and moving on inside.

It seemed that everyone was there, even if they were a bit early. Good. It means they’re interested. She thought as she gave a smile to those who had already gathered. While she walked towards the projection screen she addressed everyone who was in. “Good afternoon everyone! So glad that you could come to this meeting! I’m sure none of you want to spend your whole afternoon here listening to me drone on, so how about I just get this going, since I brought everything I need with me, and just tell you what you need to know! Then you can decide on whether or not you want us to spend more of our budget on ‘Guess the song, get a Dog Thursdays!’ Where if anyone can guess the song from a 3 second recording, their vet and adoption fees for their newly adopted pooch from a local shelter of their choosing are totally covered!” She said, brimming with confidence. She knew she could do this. Even if she was young still, she had the confidence of knowing what she was talking about and what she wanted to get done!

… A bit later and they were all done. She had presented it so well that they had immediately decided to allow more budget to be spent on the promotion of Dog Thursdays. Though she wondered if she could promote Tuesday Kitties, which was pretty much the same thing, except with cats. She would have to propose the idea to her manager.

It was however the end of the work day and she sprinted towards her desk, once again knocking Chad over in her haste, and getting everything fixed up so she could finally leave. Her schedule was a bit flexible, though she tried to get everything done that she needed to before she left. Today had been a bit slow though and so she was allowed to leave a little early. And so she did, and ran towards the derby rink, almost knocking over a fruit stand in the process.

She eventually got there without causing any property damage however, and immediately headed for the lockers to change into her derby gear. She had to practice a bit more tonight since she had been slacking and had been quite busy for the summer, what with more people wanting to do things which meant that work had a lot more to do. She strapped on her gear, and soon enough was joined by one of her fellow roller derby teammates on the rink floor. The tournaments were just around the corner, and she was so ready for it!

I'M ENTERING FOR PROTRACTOR
Proof of Participation: Post 1 & Post 2 (sorry i really meant to play more but I got busier sob)
Number of Characters: 2! Catleen Gregory/Duat (powered), Coralie Tityus (civ)
Name: Ari Pisica

Nickname: --

Age: 21

Birthday: May 1

Sign: Taurus

Gemstone: Emerald.

Blood Type: A+

Fav. Food: Burgers

Hated Food: Sunflower seeds

School: Adult with a job! Went to Destiny City university for a bit, got an AS in Marketing.

Hobbies:

Theatre - Ari got involved in theatre in high school and college, although they weren’t much good at it they loved the atmosphere. They enjoy going to local shows, helping out the high schools and colleges with local productions, and meeting other theatre nerds.

Media - They’re an avid consumer of various media, especially Youtubers. They wish they were more charismatic so they could be a professional vlogger as well, but they’re just as happy as a consumer and marketer for people and products they enjoy. They were a social media manager for a few different businesses while they were in college which gave them a perfect boost into Argent Industries after they graduated.

Math - Ari considers themself a bit of a mathematician, and they love to crunch numbers. They considered a future in finance or accounting, but preferred the amount of human contact in Marketing. They’re rather number-savvy and good whenever you need to check sums.

Virtues:

Vigilant -- Ari is a very careful person. They don’t like to make mistakes, and are always on the lookout for danger and difficulties. The sooner a problem is noticed, the easier it is to fix the problem. It’s much safer to check twice than to run the risk of someone getting hurt.

Graceful -- Ari comes across as a very well-put together person. They are rather self-assured despite a meek-looking appearance, and know how appearances can be everything, especially when it comes to media.

Flaws:

Performative -- Ari likes to put on a bit of a show. Their emotions and actions aren’t quite as real as they like to make them out to be, but they certainly make sure everyone knows how they’re feeling when they want the attention. They’re a bit fake, and it shows at times.

Demanding -- They are a bit selfish and can be quite demanding when it comes to asking others to do what they would like. If the deadline is firm to them - then it is firm and no amount of begging will change their mind on the matter.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

See image!

Negaverse Alias: Lieutenant Scapolite

Challenge: Don't get bent out of shape!

Uniform: Please see art

Weapon

Lieutenant Weapon: Protractor!
Captain Weapon: A protractor-themed dull blade, on a handle. Better for whacking than slicing.
General Weapon: A half-moon sword

PROMPT RESPONSE:

“A pleasure to have you aboard.”

Ari was so happy to hear those words, to get that firm handshake, that they couldn’t help but clasp their hands around and smile from ear to ear. This felt all a bit like a dream. A job with Argent Industries, to work with Ally Argent. To get to use their marketing skills, their experience as a social media manager to do some good. But despite that, they knew there was more to the job than, well, just a job. This organization was part of something bigger. And when that bigger part came, they had the same eagerness for being part of the Negaverse as they did for the job. There was power and importance to be earned, and they knew they could do it well.

The process to being corrupted was much more painful than anticipated, not as simple as some onboarding paperwork. But it was infinitely quicker, and when they regained their senses, they knew they were more than they had ever been as simply Ari. They were special. Their new form was strong, and they held the protractor - their new weapon - in their hands, turning and turning it as they admired it. A perfect fit to someone like them, and as they advanced the ranks they would only get something stronger. They had a cute uniform, and a new name. Scapolite, they had been called. They weren’t a stranger to new names, or disconnects between body and mind. A familiar, if vaguely uncomfortable feeling. They would get used to it.

Maybe people hadn’t expected Ari to be ambitious, with their soft features and gentle voice. For them to want things, and crave what the Negaverse offered, but they had, and eagerly accepted it as they had a job. They knew a good opportunity when they saw one, and the risks seemed low. They wouldn’t be the front lines of this battle against terrorists and Sailor Senshi, they would infiltrate the civilians and try to up the sympathy for the Negaverse. Wasn’t that what they already did with social media management? With their love of theatre, making audiences fall in love with villains and weep for their heroes?

This was a logical next step for Ari.

I'M ENTERING FOR TUNER
Proof of Participation: https://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?page=1&t=25256397#383119819
Number of Characters: 1 Civilian / 5 Powered (1 of which is a nega)
Name: Yuri Kiyoshi

Nickname: n/a

Age: 24

Birthday: 9-1-2004

Sign: Virgo

Gemstone: Sapphire

Blood Type: O-

Fav. Food: Food

Hated Food: Sardines and Olives

School: none; graduated. Works are the media company in advertising and graphic design (if that’s a thing)

Hobbies:

Modeling - Something she was thrust into at a young age she took to it like a duck to water. She had a very successful childhood career and even her early teens but she put it on hold to ensure she graduated highschool and college. In-between semesters she took up a few seasonal shoots for some fashion magazines and since graduating has been looking for another gig.

Art - Having a unique taste and talent for drawing since she was younger her art knowledge expanded into museums and exhibits as she grew older. She very much enjoys going to cafes with art hanging on the walls and jazz or classical music playing in the background. She has a taste for other arts as well, which she grew into as her visits to exhibits and museums expanded. Mozart, Chopin, Claude Debussy and Frank Sinatra are a few of her favorites from the musical art world.

Gamer - Yuri is a bit of a closet nerd, she enjoys playing all sorts of games, from card to video. Given the way her personality is most wouldn’t peg her for the type to want to sit back and throw on COD or play some DnD every Thursday night. It’s not something she exactly makes public but if you happen to get her to open up, you’ll become immersed in her little world of games.

Virtues:

Loyal -- Once you’ve made it into her circle, she’ll die for you. Not literally but she’ll do anything and everything in her power to help out a friend in need. She’s got your back no matter what and she ESPECIALLY doesn’t allow anyone to mess with family. Loyalty is a huge thing to her and having hers is pretty big because she doesn’t give it out lightly. Usually someone has to have done something worthwhile and courageous to get her to consider you worthy enough.

Kind -- Despite all her quirks, she’s a very kind person. You just have to get her alone, which is rather hard given how she is. She has a soft spot for animals and especially loves children and spending time with elderly folks. Usually she justs listens to their stories and spends time with them since that’s all they usually want, someone to just hear their thoughts and what they did in life. We wouldn’t say she is a goody two shoes, but she does have a kind and caring nature about her in the right environments. It’s like finding a rainbow during a rainstorm, sometimes it’s hard to see and sometimes it’s right there. You just have to be in the right spot, right time.

Practical -- Being practical is something she prides herself in, since she knows when and where is the right time to be a certain way and how helpful she needs to be when being there for those she loves about. She’s a fair business woman who follows set guidelines when it comes to ensuring launches and demands are being set or met. She doesn’t sit back and let things happen and takes action, asking only enough questions to solve the current situations at hand, anything more than that would prove to be wasteful to her.

Flaws:

Overly Critical -- This comes in two separate entities, herself and others. How she is overly critical about herself isn’t always how she is towards others and this is usually only when she’s working. When it comes to her modeling and her art she can be a bit harsh on herself because she feels as though there is so much more she could have done. This all comes AFTER the shoot or her product is finished, usually. So she’ll look back and wonder what she did wrong, or what she could have done better. She always produces wonderful pieces of work, it’s just she doesn’t always feel as though it’s what her best is. When it comes to the working environment it comes out in her bossy manners, telling people to redo something several times or upping deadlines. She only does this because she knows a lot of those that work with her and for her HAVE potential but aren’t being motivated enough to tap into it so she’ll push them and tell them to continue to fix things, even if they’re good by mosts standards.

Competitive -- Driven by her passions she is very competitive in ensuring everything goes smoothly and as best as it possibly can. She’s all about presentation and she’ll be damned if what she’s about to show off isn’t the best. Her competitive nature isn’t aggressive by any means, it just causes her to push others to the max sometimes and it can be quite taxing, especially when she’s at work. When it comes to video games you’ll likely find her yelling at the screen or even staring at the dungeon master when it comes to DnD if she feels as though something isn’t quite up to par.

Socially Awkward -- When it comes to groups and work environments she’s able to deal with being socially awkward like it’s nothing. It’s when she’s one on one with someone that she’s got issues. She’s not the type to talk about herself and given she’s usually driven by her work and passions she has spent little time communicating with others on a personal level so she sort of just talks about random things that don’t make sense until one of two things happens, the person gives up and they part ways or she finally says something that interests the other person. Usually she avoids one on one all together if it’s not work related.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: pre determined

Hair: pre determined

Negaverse Alias: Lieutenant Rhodonite ; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhodonite

Challenge: “Let me just tune you out.”

Uniform: Please see art

Weapon (if the weapon I’ve chosen below is too far fetched as an idea then I would change it to twin sai daggers for captain and then twin sai daggers connected by a chain as general.

Lieutenant Weapon: Tuning Fork. Isn’t it just so cute and it makes a pleasant sound when you bang it like such.
Captain Weapon: The Tuning fork turns into an arm length dagger type weapon. Not quite a dagger and not quite a staff. She’d be able to use it with both hands or one depending on where she were to grab it (for a length idea)
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/356686757485608961/483068182433890304/eeb2966c17c7a504.png mixed with the one on the far right in this image https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/356686757485608961/483068217758187520/b067271e343f.png
General Weapon: The dagger like weapon becomes a trident type staff that, when banged against another metal object, emits a high pitched frequency that disorients and causes temporary hearing loss depending on proximity to the weapon. Aside from that it is extremely sharp on either end just a typical staff type weapon. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/356686757485608961/483068217758187520/b067271e343f.png far left

Prompt 2 (I think it was 2? "day in the life")

Slamming the diagram down on the table she waved a hand, "What is this? It's completely inadequate and nothing like what we talked about. Explain?" The girl at the desk tried to sputter out some sort of a response as to what had happened and she stopped her. "Do what was discussed and get the revision on my desk no later than 1500hrs." Turning she stormed off to her office and closed the door.

Arranging a few files on her desk she pulled up the advertising schedule and double checked a couple of the deadlines. While she was a little bit of a hard a** to some of the other employee's it was all for the greater good. She only did it to push their potentials and drive them to be better, to want to be more. Was it so hard for them to want to push themselves?

Looking over what she already had she knew it was passable and would even be a good product to put forward, she just KNEW that they could do better.

Leaning back in her chair she looked at the ceiling for a moment and thought about how she got here, got to where she was today. It was her hard work and persistent nature that had landed her this role within the company, while she had started out like all those working for her, she pushed herself to move up the stepping ladder. You have to want more from life, more from yourself, in order to move forward. If you have no drive, you're just going to sit in one spot forever. That gets boring.

Checking the time she sent out a couple of email reminders and double checked a few deadline times and after ensuring everything looked good she got up and headed back out to the main floor. She could feel eyes on her, there was mild tension, which was good. It meant that people knew that they should be working instead of doing whatever it was that they were doing. While she wasn't the head of the department, she was in a position of authority and she had people she reported too, so she liked to know that when she was going into their office, that she had the best possible answer for them.

A quick rap on the door she entered her manager's office and took a seat. "Everything is on schedule for the release on Friday, I can get you the finished product by close of business today for your approval." Her voice was calm and collective and she had a smile on her face because she was pleased with how things were going. Her supervisor gave a nod of their head and they discussed a couple of other important pieces of work and that was that. "I'll see you close of business with the product."

Heading back out she looked her her watch, it was lunch time. "If I get any calls make sure to schedule call backs or if it's urgent patch them through to my cell." While her assistant was new she had faith that they wouldn't mess anything up. "I'll be back in an hour."

Heading out she went to one of her favorite cafe's just down the street and sat in the calm, dim lighting, and enjoyed a sandwich and some hot tea.

I'M ENTERING FOR TUNER
Proof of Participation: [x]
Number of Characters: Powered; 27; civ: 4
Name: Blair Holmes

Nickname: None, really

Age: 19

Birthday: August 3

Sign: Leo

Gemstone: Amber

Blood Type: B+

Fav. Food: Blueberry Scones

Hated Food: Haggis

School: Destiny City University

Hobbies:
Fandom || Blair loves fandom. She’s been involved in it since she was a young kid, in various different ones across all kinds of media, and sometimes in more than one at once. She has a fair following on AO3, and being involved in it has given her an in-depth understanding of Tumblr and Twitter. Navigating fandom is a constant adventure, and even when it gets at its stupidest, anon-hatiest, or shitstormiest, it’s an adventure Blair wouldn’t trade for anything.

Musical Theater || Blair comes from a family of performers, and her favorite place to be is on the stage. She loves to act and sing and dance, and there’s nothing more exciting than getting cast for a new part. She lives and breathes the stage, and loves being the center of attention. There’s no business like show business, and Blair damn well intends to make it in show business.

Virtues:
Take-Charge || Blair is a leader. She is not afraid to step up if she feels like things are coming apart, and she loves doing it. She likes feeling like she's in a position of leadership, and is very comfortable there, be it on the stage or

Thinks on Her Feet || Sudden complications? No problem! Blair is very good at being flexible with her plans and adapting to unforeseen circumstances. Can't find any information on a research topic? Switch to another one. Current plan not working? Modify! Life doesn't follow your plans, so you've got to be quick to adapt instead of sulking over what's gone wrong.

Performer || Blair is pretty much always performing at least a little bit. If she’s not working the crowd, she’s not sure what she’s doing, because that’s the best way to win friends and influence people, right? Her dramatics can absolutely be thoroughly entertaining, especially since she always does her best to make sure everyone is having fun with her.

Flaws:
Bossy || Once Blair takes charge, Blair is In Charge. She will boss and bully and push and harass to ensure that things get done. This tends together even worse if she feels people aren't taking her seriously. Damn it, she was chosen as The Boss, she is going to be The Boss.

Extra || Blair is….more than a little over the top. She’s something of a dramahound, and she really does not know the meaning of chill. Once she gets going, there is no stopping her unless she is very forcibly stopped, and only serious consequences really work for forcibly stopping her. She often doesn’t realize how deep she’s dug herself in being an over the top disaster until, well, the disaster is right there in her face, usually exploding and sometimes on fire. Metaphorically, hopefully.

Insecure || Underneath all the performance, all the Extra, all the drama, Blair is a scared, insecure little girl. She’s bene in competition with her older brother, even if it wasn’t conscious, ever since she was born, and it’s definitely gotten to her. Being a performer means that she’s never really sure what her real role in the world is, and deep down, no matter how bossy she might be, what she’d really, really like is for someone to help her find her place in the sun.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Lieutenant Weapon: Tuning fork

prompt one

Of all the places that Blair had expected to get her first job interview, a place like Renegade Media had barely made the list. She'd sent out the application halfway as a dream, because it would be a chance to get in with a company that seemed to have its hands in all kinds of pies, online and offline, and that was exactly the kind of place Blair wanted to be. Beyond that, well. She could have all the show business dreams she wanted, and she would absolutely keep pursuing them through school, but there was no underestimating the value of a real, steady job.

Maybe, Blair hoped, getting in on the ground floor of a company like this would open doors for her. She'd get to meet people placed in the industry she wanted to be in, make connections, start building opportunities before she had even graduated college. Wasn't that the dream? To have everything laid out in front of you, to not have to worry about struggling to find a job?

Sure, she was certain her parents wouldn't let her starve or anything, and if she wanted to get out of the house they'd be happy to set her up just like they'd set up Alistair and his slightly weird little family (not that she was judging, really; she was fond of Lance and Cass and Quinn, and the twins were adorable) but really, what she wanted more than anything was to finally be on her own.

She hardly thought herself pitiable. To whine about being a poor little rich girl was silly and unbecoming, and she knew that she had opportunities most people didn't. But that wasn't the point. It wasn't about self-pity, it was about chasing her own chances rather than letting her parents keep on helping her skate by. About making her own name, and escaping out from under Alistair's shadow--maybe more challenging because she was chasin g the same dream as her big brother, at the same school, with so many of the same teachers, but all that meant was that she had to work ten times, twenty times, a hundred times harder to prove that she was more than just "Alistair Holmes's cute little sister." More than just a legacy, more than what everyone expected her to be.

Here was the first step. A job she'd applied for and gotten a call into all on her own, on nothing but her own merits, because she was prety sure nobody at a startup like Renegade Media knew Alistair Holmes or Quinn Bennett or any of them. She'd be impressing whoever was interviewing her by herself, for herself. That was all she could ask for, all she could hope for.

She paused outside the building, shifting her sunglasses from her face to her head. They sat, she hoped, nicely in her hair, and she desperately prayed that it made her look more prepared and professional, more elegantly classy, and not like the dumb kid she was.

God, interviews were terrifying. Maybe she should have asked for advice?

No, no. She had to do this on her own, and that meant doing her own research and not begging her parents or her brother for help or tips or anything. At least she knew that she looked good, and that her makeup wasn't too over the top or anything. Probably.

God.

No, no. There was no point worrying. She was smart and talented, she had the social media experience and the follower numbers to show that she knew what she was doing online, she had an understanding of and history of engagement with multiple forms of media. She had to be what they wanted. And she was going to prove that to them. Whoever Renegade Media had lined up to interview her, Blair Holmes was going to absolutely blow them away, because that was what she did. She was a performer, and this was just another stage.

Blair took another steadying breath, and then she stepped into the building. This was it, she hoped. The first day of the rest of her life.

Hated Food: Most seafood--she's got a sensitive shellfish allergy, so it's never felt worth the risk.

Coding: Mostly proficient in Java, Unity, and C++, Ella likes to write widgets and applications that make her life easier, because really, who has time to work hard? Also she likes it when people think she’s a hacker, it makes her feel like a badass.

MOBA Gaming: Ella plays ADC semi-professionally in League of Legends, though doesn’t stream regularly enough to be a big face in the twitch community. She hesitates making more of a presence for herself, mostly because she doesn’t want to deal with the inevitable headache of being a girl gamer, even if attitudes are slowly changing. She’s known for goofy builds and her well-curated music mixes.

Lo-fi Hip Hop Beats: It’s not just a youtube channel to chill to while studying--Ella insists that it’s a way of life. She’s got a vast collection of music that she curates to her moods, and enough of a classical music background to dabble in writing her own pieces now and again.

Virtues:

Brilliant: Ella has a thing for numbers. And language. And people. And the arts. And, well...there’s rarely an intellectual pursuit that Ella hasn’t taken to in some shape or form, though she’s mostly interested in tasks that challenge her logic or reasoning. Ella likes problems because she likes to solve problems, and most enjoys the little thrill of innovation any time she finds a solution to make life easier or her code more robust. Given enough time to plan and someone to help her with an ounce of follow-through, Ella dreams big enough that she has the potential to do great or terrible things.

Laid-back: Nothing matters but knowing nothing matters--even when things out to get her, Ella doesn’t let things get under her skin or ruffle her feathers. The way she sees it, the world is so big and so grand and so beautiful, what’s the use in crying over spilt milk? Ella is less a blind optimist and more a cheerful nihilist, because things are terrible and sometimes there’s no denying that, but you know what’s not terrible? Baby animals. Ice cream.

Flaws:

Lazy: Ella takes work smarter, not harder to a whole new level. She’s never had to try much for anything, and if something causes her a problem, she makes a shortcut, and if there’s no shortcut to be made, she drops it. Life’s too short to worry about things that are boring or menial or mundane. That’s what little people are for, right?

Smug: Look. It’s not your fault. Some people just...aren’t as gifted, and that’s okay. But Ella knows that she’s just a little bit better than your average person, and she makes little effort to hide those assumptions about people. Sometimes she’s prone to only half-listen to someone’s well-thought out opinion, and she underestimates people in spades. When she inevitably miscalculates, she shrugs and plays it off as considering a better alternative, and she’s good enough at mental gymnastics that it’s hard to pin her down long enough to actually get her to admit that she’s wrong.

Weapon

Lieutenant Weapon: Wireless over-ear headphones. Won’t sync to her phone :C
Captain Weapon: Hand-held bola
General Weapon: Kyoketsu-shoge, being struck by the blade causes the cut to glow blue for 10 seconds, meant to be used as an anti-stealth tool.

Prompt Three:

When the world went fast, Ella liked to take a deep breath and imagine it slowing down, like she could keep turning a dial on the speed of everything until it all stopped. That’s where she was currently, her expression blank and her hands steady with the task of holding a bottle of water as she stood perfectly still in a reception area for Argent Industries, awaiting what would apparently be her new assignment. She took two breaths. Three.

It was all a front. But of course it was. A big business, with so much sway in the public eye--there were bound to be some backroom dealings.

If they thought she was nervous, then they would try to take advantage of her, and so Ella was not nervous, casually reading information about a new hiring phase from a bulletin board on the wall. In retrospect, it was all so very clear--but she wouldn’t have seen it at all without the nudge to her perspective and a hand in her chest, doing something, something terrible--

Something necessary, she reminded herself, catching herself before she could run away with a distressing line of thought. Pacing slowly, she decided to make a list of things that had changed and stayed the same about her situation so she could best consider how to proceed. One: someone had recognized the convention scheduling app she’d submitted, which meant that at least one person at Argent Industries had taste.

Two: the infamous gang problem in the city was somehow magically fueled, and by drawing attention to herself she’d managed to be recruited to Earth’s defense. There was plenty to unpack here, and it merited more than a single bullet point, but Ella saved that as a problem for future Ella to figure out, along with most of her problems.

The most important thing to consider? That she was the same person, just...taken a step to the side. Enhanced. Made into a hero. It’s not like she had to start trying, even if they’d mentioned things like a quota and duties and things that sounded an awful lot like chores. Ella didn’t worry--she had faith she would figure it out, like she’d always done. Even if they’d given her some kind of rank and put her in some weird drum major uniform, it didn’t mean she had to be anything else than herself. That’s what they’d been looking for, right? Pure Ella Fran brilliance and charm. She was obligated to be no one else.

A door opened, and someone wearing a military room stepped out into the waiting area. “Looking for...a Lieutenant Datolite?”

Ella didn’t respond until she realized that in the mess of things she’d been given a codename on top of everything else, and her eyes lit up in the little realization of oh geez that’s me. “That’s me,” she piped up, walking easy and with a clear conscience towards the office door she was led to. She didn’t understand why all the other recruits were making a fuss. This was easier than school, than some dead-end job where you worked for fifty years only to get kicked off for the next best thing. This was magic and intrigue, and it felt like a spark of wanting to get things done in her chest.

The possibilities were suddenly unlimited. Datolite liked that most of all.

After much deliberation, I'd like to announce the winners of the concept contests.

Regrettably due to a number of factors, I have made the decision to not choose a winner for the Music Stand premade at this time. It was a difficult decision and I spent a lot of time considering what choice I was going to make and I hope that entrants will understand and respect my decision.

For the Tuner, the winner is AstoriaFallen
For the Stapler, the winner is Stari_Maga
For the Protractor, the winner is purplerosesbeauty
For the Headphones, the winner is AMItotic

I will be PMing files to their respective players when I have the capacity to do so along with a brief run down of the company!

Once again, I'd like to thank everyone for participating or entering, I am very excited to get to work with the winners and help them get settled into Argent Industries once they're approved! (And doing any onscreen corruptions if that's of interest to the winners!)

If you entered and did not win but would still like to pursue a similar background for a future character, i.e. getting screened/recruited into the negaverse by Argent Industries, please contact me and I would be delighted to work with you to do so!

Thanks!
