Cynthia Desjardins
Cynthia had managed to slip through the main hall and wandered around for a bit but had realized that she was about to be late to the panelist’s rooms! Usually when she went to any sort of convention she spent so much time milling around the main area and deciding on what to buy or wait to wait for or just getting information that she usually missed any panels or speeches or even anything else.
Somehow, she had been going to the Renaissance Festival for years and still hadn’t managed to see a single event.
Today though she wanted to actually do something correctly, and that was to see some panelists and learn something! She had decided on Room 1 because it fit more to her interests, though she was a bit sad about none of the panels being about photography. Maybe she would just have to change that herself though?
Still though, she made it a goal and eventually found herself in Room 1, though it already seemed crowded. She managed to find a seat though and it was only a matter of time before they started. She was okay with waiting twenty minutes though. It was others who waited hours and whatnot to be able to come and see the rooms. That she didn’t understand. After all, if someone took video of the event, couldn’t they just see it on youtube or something?
She had made her own goal though, and if she didn’t like the discussions that were going on that badly, then she would just leave. Or at least she hoped she could do that. She wondered if it was anything like going to the orchestra and only being able to come back in once there was intermission? Hopefully her bladder wouldn’t betray her today!

Suri Ellis
Suri was no stranger to lecturing. For eight years she had been Ms. Ellis at Crystal Academy, and had spoken at length about physics and chemistry to girls who were mostly grooming to be trophy wives. It was within the last year that she’d been given the lucrative station of managing research and development at Argent Industries, and she took pride in her ability to organize and implement the various projects the company needed to further its prowess as an institution. It helped that the hours were flexible enough to accommodate her extra-curricular research, and pending another semester or two abroad, she was getting the feeling that she was zeroing in on a thesis worth defending. Did the Negaverse award PhD’s? She would have to take it up with the European branch.
She sat at a table in a far corner of the room, reviewing her notes in silence. It would have been so much easier to deliver her lecture as an abstract study, removed from its context in the Negaverse, but no, she had to make it ‘relatable to the youths’ with a VR demonstration. Lips pursed, she scratched out a handwritten note in the margin and scribbled something else in small, cursive loops. Then, she shuffled her papers and tapped them in line before standing, one hand steadying herself on the table.
“Queenie, you’ll be presenting the headset,” she said to her first assistant, checking a box of equipment at their station. “Everything is wireless, so all you have to do is show it to the audience and then make sure the lights are on.”
“Ashley, you’ll be wearing the headset for the demo,” she said to her second assistant, glancing down and up at his attire. “You’ll come out after Queenie presents, and she’ll get you all hooked up on the stage. You’ll just need to look around, walk a few steps, try not to fall off the stage.”
“I did my best to make the VR portion the smallest part of the presentation, so you’ll both have minimal responsibilities.” Sliding her pen behind an ear, she held her notes across her chest. “Do you have any questions before we start?”

Jade Argent in Room One
It was finally time, the room was mostly filled from what she could tell and she tried not to fret about the lack of full room because it was still early and some people likely didn't understand the point of a sudden convention, even if advertising had been all over the place.
Jade had to trust that people would filter in after making it through the gates.
Somewhere near the front her brother had taken a seat. He was always so supportive.
When it came time for things to start she fiddled with her mic before standing.
"Hello, friends," she greeted, flashing pearly whites that the audience. "It's so great to see so many faces and see the turnout brought about by Anthemusa: The Convention, I'm thrilled to see all of you, sincerely." She started walking across the stage. "I'm sure most of you know me through my YouTube: Ally Argent where I do a bunch of things. My videos range from drunk make up tutorials, to suggestions from viewers, and even some gaming videos."
Her voice didn't shake but her heart beat a little faster than she liked because it was her first big public appearance since the music festival two years ago.
((Apologies for the slight lateness, the time for panel QNA has come!
If you've got a character who is outgoing enough to make it up to the mic where they can formally ask a question please have them step forward and bold their question for me (or the player hosting the panel) if it's something you think is relevant to the panel and potentially want discussed, quote me and include what you want in the quote box. This isn't a guarantee that it'll be addressed, but something to consider for those quieter characters!))

Ashley Bennettson
Ashley didn't want to be here. He wanted to be home. Painting. On his day off. From Suri and General Zircon and most of all Sweetie who was here too and booooooooooo.
He did his best to look interested and professional, even in his jeans, button up and flip flops. That's right. He didn't have time to get proper shoes. He was wearing flip flops in this forsaken place.
"Yes General." he breathed out, glaring at Queenie because when wasn't he glaring at the smaller woman. "No. Walk across the floor. Sounds simple enough." He adjusted the visor over his head and sighed.
Quietly.

Cynthia Desjardins
Cynthia settled a bit more into her seat and listened to… Ally Argent was it? Cynthia mostly watched youtube for videos on how to take better photographs outside and some review videos. She didn’t really understand youtube personalities that much, but she still could learn about them, right?
She looked around to see if anyone would go up to ask a question to Ally. Since she didn’t know much about this youtuber, she didn’t feel as though it would be right if she went up and asked something. Besides, she didn’t have any idea what to ask anyway? Maybe besides the generic “how did you get started blah blah blah” stuff that everyone usually asked anyway.

Suri Ellis in Room Two
Suri looked at Ashley, unimpressive from his head to his...flip flops. For a professional presentation. She blinked, covering her mouth with two fingers so she might not be tempted to say something sour. “I have to be specific in my instructions or they’ll be misinterpreted,” she clipped in response, annoyed that she hadn’t thought to tell him to wear a real pair of shoes. She fumbled with her microphone backstage, struggling to clip it with her clumsy hands, and then with a sigh, she took the stairs to the stage.
Suri Ellis was a small woman, pale and unassuming. She wore a freshly-pressed collared shirt with a tie on her collar and a cat pin on her breast pocket, and just before the presentation she’d made sure to smooth out the cowlicks in her white-blonde bob. When she walked from the edge of the stage to the podium, she favored her right leg, largely because her left was gone from just below the knee, replaced by a plain prosthetic cast in the shape of a metal rod. She frowned when she reached the podium, setting down a sheaf of notes she’d been carrying in her arms, and then picked up a remote that seemed to control the slide presentation that began behind her.
”Good afternoon,” Suri began, sharp eyes wandering the room. She wondered how many of these people would have bothered to attend, if not for the frivolous ending she’d been forced to tack on. “My name is Suri Ellis, and I head the research and development department for Argent Industries.” She clicked the remote, and a familiar logo slid onto the screen in navy and red and white. “At Argent Industries, we bring cutting edge media technology to the greater Destiny City area, from production to presentation, and today, I’m going to be showing you some of the impacts that the engineering field has on the way you package and consume media.”
Such was the start of a dry twenty-five minute lecture of optics, the way the human eye perceives light, and pupil dilation as a measure of neural exertion and eye strain. Taken somewhat from her time at Crystal, she explained in a way she felt suitable for a general audience, light on the math with an emphasis on concepts. This meant her slides were text-heavy and dense with information, with only the occasional picture to highlight a key concept (such as parts of the eye).
The final slide was a picture of a disgruntled looking fluffy cat with a headset draped across its face. “Now, as Maverick is illustrating here, the world of media presentation has shifted from two-dimensional screens to a three-dimensional interface, where users can experience the content they want to explore spatially as well as audio-visually. Using tiny cameras in the heads-up display, the AR helmet is able to detect tiny changes in pupillary dilation, which in turn estimates the amount of eye strain the user is currently experiencing, and in real time can make visual adjustments to reduce headaches and keep you working longer. ...Or playing longer. Why not do both?” She made a face about the idea that someone would strictly be using this technology for play, but she knew she wasn’t being paid to comment on people’s choice in hobbies.
Suri clicked for the next slide and signaled for Queenie and Ashley at the edge of the stage. “My assistants will now demonstrate with our latest AR helmet and a segment of the map from AI’s newest game…” She paused, to look down at her notes. “...Gladiators of the Gallows.” She clicked the remote again, and the screen split into parts--a small section, focused on Ashley’s eyes under the helmet, and a larger portion of a computer-generated forest from the game, as seen from Ashley’s view.
“Now watch as Ashley takes a few steps forward and looks around, as his pupils change size the software will automatically know to account for the lighting.” She nodded at Queenie, the signal to get her partner moving. Once he started to step forward, she turned back towards the audience, letting the demonstration play behind her, largely forgotten.
“I’ll now open the floor to any questions.”

Ashley Bennettson
There was something very unreal about putting a headset on and walking forward. He did so careful and with calculated steps. He assured himself that the best way to make sure he didn't trip was to slip OUT of his flip flops and walk across the stage.
It offered him better grab at the floor and any misalignment he didn't trip against.
His eyes did widen as he saw a forest, accidentally whipping his head around towards his general's voice before slowly moving it back.
"What the hell Suri." He muttered under his breathe, reaching a hand out as if to touch something in the scenery portrayed in the game.

Blythe Clemmons - Room 2
Punctuality was a formality when it came to conventions, an instinct someone like Blythe couldn't quite turn off even when she wasn't incredibly invested in the material. After all, a convention had been known for business far longer than it had ever been for gaming or anime or whatever new pop culture fad decided to thrust out for quick consumption and glazed eyes. The most important part of gatherings like this was networking, and while she had four people already to look out for as a Negaverse Agent, she was always looking to expand, especially on the civilian side of things.
It didn't quite stop her from exuding a an aura of distaste, however, as she avoided the louder and more...fanatic elements near the gaming area. It wasn't as though Blythe didn't play video games, but she certainly didn't see why she should invest in a new game of a tired genre at its debut. Not unless it wowed her. No, the media personnel was where it was at if she really wanted to get anything out of this convention...
Having grabbed a quick meal (something grabbed from the farmer's market-esque booth and a large soda), she was just in time to hit the first succession of panels. Neither seemed terribly appealing, but VR was beginning to catch on more and more, in spite of her doubts about the technology. Better than at-home 3D televisions had at any rate, though that wasn't saying much. Blythe took a seat and listened to the presenter--or at least did her best to catch the key points. She was distracted by how unprofessional one of her assistants looked; Blythe was better dressed, and she hadn't been trying. The presentation, while thorough, also could have been better prepared for the audience--well, at least Blythe believed in a less text, more example style slideshow.
Once question time was announced, she rose and moved to the mic."Gaming applications are obvious, but you mentioned working," she began. "I'm curious: In what manner would the AR helmet be used at a job? Or am I misinterpreting?"

Otto Moor - Security and Scheduling assistant The blonde opened his mouth to answer but closed it again as another voice did for him. Brows dipped as he leaned to better see the young man walking up behind the woman he'd been assigned to keep track of, but not only did she recognize him, she seemed completely familiar with him. Which was confirmed a moment later when he introduced himself as her brother. Otto took the offered hand, features smoothing into an easy smile. "Otto. Nice to meet you." If he could help keep Jade calm, that'd be a big help, and honestly another set of protective eyes wouldn't hurt. "Do you work for Argent Industries as well?" If he did Otto had never seen him there, but considering the very recent events that had led to the blonde's employment that wasn't really a surprise. He wasn't just new, he was also dealing post corruption mind fuzz, and quite frankly he'd been fairly sheltered since that day. When Jade had to run off to present her panel Otto stepped closer to her brother so they could keep their voices down if the conversation continued. Adel el-KaderVideo games really weren't high on Adel's list of hobbies or interests, but he hadn't come to the convention that day for himself. He'd come as support, though with Ayesha preparing for her own panel later in the day, the tall man had found himself with an abundance of free time and nothing much else to fill it with. He had no interest in the merchandise, and had next to no experience with gaming, so that left the other panels. Honestly, he hadn't been expecting much. Which wasn't to say the speakers weren't knowledgeable in their chosen topics, but that the topics themselves weren't personally appealing. This one, however, had sparked his interest. Optics and engineering were outside the scope of his doctorate, but he found himself musing over the possible applications of the technology in the field of anthropology and other research sciences that required a great deal of travel or exploration. With the presented tech it would have been easy to quickly gather another opinion on a archaeological find. When the presenter asked for questions a dark hand lifted.

Suri Ellis - Room 2
"That's an excellent question," Suri responded, folding her hands together. "In our own applications, the technology is largely educational--as part of a partnership with DCUMed, we're in the process of scanning and digitizing certain routine surgical procedures so that students have access to three-dimensional modeling without the constraints of needing a cadaver. But there are larger applications to be considered, such as first responder training or having the ability to virtually survey a construction site from outside the premises."
There were plenty of military grade applications as well, but that was a thought for a soldier, not a placid research lead, and Suri was certainly the latter. "As technology advances, it is our hope to integrate the AR interface into everything we do, providing the same organizational and communicative experience as your smart phone, but with three dimensional functionality."
She nodded at the woman at the mic, a hint of an approving glint to her eye. "Again, good question, thank you."
Her eyes glanced over at a raised hand, and she motioned to give him permission to speak. "Yes, did you have a question?"med1igel hey girl u looking for a team

Isaac Argent - Room One
His smile was polite when it was offered to the other man. Isaac was a quiet individual who expected that, like with most things, everything about Jade would distract and keep people from interacting with him. He was rather indifferent to the attention, well used to it after twenty-three years, so when Otto kept his attention towards Isaac and sought to continue conversation he was surprised.
It only showed in the slight raise of pale brows when he pushed up his glasses.
"No," he answered truthfully, his voice naturally soft and quiet. "I help Jade out with videos from time to time, but I don't work for the company." Which was exactly how he preferred it if he was being honest.
"It's her thing," he added, as if that was all the explanation needed.

Queenie Powers - Room 2
When Queenie had been asked to assist Ms. Ellis in her panel at the local convention, the younger woman had been absolutely ecstatic. It got her away from studying for her upcoming courses, it got her away from helping out her father with his weekend catering stints but most importantly, it got her away from having to do Negaverse things with one horrid, horrid Ashley Bennettson.
At least... until she arrived at the convention.
The sight of the other subordinate had her nose immediately wrinkling. The tall, gangly nerd was wearing flip-flops of all things and looking anything but professional for their group debut. For Miss Suri's big debut.
What a disrespectful louse!!!!!!
He looked like a fool in the helmet (but not Maverick, what a cutie!!!!!) and Queenie couldn't help but smirk at the tall boy as he did his "demonstration".

The purple haired man immediately looked over at Queenie because he knew she was there, mocking him.
Well, not his fault. He would've happily given her the stage time if it meant he could go home. He crossed his arms as he waited for questions to be answered, resisting to tap barefoot against the stage.

Otto Moor - Room One//Security and scheduling assistant The blonde nodded, as if that answer made sense to him, and maybe it did. Isaac was probably used to living in the shadow of his sister's success, so Otto couldn't say he blamed him for wanting to carve out his own identity, rather than being swept up in her's. "Are you a technical analyst or something?" There wasn't an hint of anything beside polite curiosity in the question. Otto loved video games, and he was comfortable with computers, but he'd never gotten into the finer aspects of them. Adel el-Kader - Room Two He waited patiently for the other girl to ask her question and for the woman on the stage to answer with yet more intriguing points of interest. Adel hadn't gone into the medical field, but he could appreciate the technological advantage the AR system they were demonstrating could provide. He'd be very interested to attend a demonstration on that as well. When the woman, Suri, turned her attention to him he smiled benign and polite as he lowered his hand. "Yes. Would this system be able to link with other smart devices such as Google Glass, for example, and communicate in real time over long distances?" His voice was deep, clear, and carried a smooth, Egyptian accent.

Jade Argent in Room One
All and all things were going relatively smoothly and she felt her nerves settling more and more as she continued to talk. There were a couple of comments about how starting off building a following on YouTube had been difficult but once she took off, she really took off.
"It's about deciding what you're selling and then just really getting behind whatever you think your act is about," she explained, walking across with the wireless mic in her hand. "I go more for comedy, parodies on things like how being a grown up sucks, except when it doesn't. And other things." Her hand waved, her grin flashing to the audience again. "Some people do covers or songs and like, that's great, sometimes I do song based things but it's not really my think y'know?"
Singers were a dime a dozen, really, but Jade had mastered the art of acting and performing.
"Then there's the fan interaction, without fans there'd be no Ally A and there'd certainly be no convention or Argent Industries."ssbrosb cause you're the only active one in room one <3
