Eternal Sailor CybeleHP: 76 Damage to Source: 21 The blights swarmed. They kept coming and coming, and they raked their slimy claws along Cybele’s arms, and knees, and feet. She ignored them. With the last of her heightened focus, Cybele’s attention snapped over to the larger creature, the one sputtering threats that seemed to be shaking some of the others to their core. Was that where the the others were coming from? In any case, it didn’t seem like a bad idea to destroy it. “Prey’s Agony,” she called, ignoring the way the smaller things grabbed and tugged and scratched at her. She sent the faintly glowing arrow towards the central creature.

Doing: Trying not to drown with his team, throwing fire at the source.
Prehnite snarled as the ink around him exploded, watching the girls pick up form and back him accordingly, such a perfect team he'd never dreamed to ask for! He lashed out with Taxanes Fire once more, watching the putrid ball of burning green strike through a swath of inky bastards before him; felt the magic dwindle with its uses of the blade into a dim thing -- so long as it struck at a distance -- he couldn't risk Hatsya losing his other blade to his fumbling anymore than he could his own to the clawing droves of ink.

"Rude! This thing is ru--ach!" and there was light from somewhere beyond, albite ducked the dawning rays and caught spots even as he struggled to maintain his hold on the main baddie proper. The magic severed slowly, the backlash of him falling taking one n a quarter of his own clawing beasts with him.

The barrage of attacks against it shook the shuddering mass the Blight monsters poured from. Its shape began to lose definition as it shrieked angrily, parts falling from it back into the dark pool of ooze below. It seemed to struggle to remain upright under its own weight and soon gurgling cries began to break from it as it reached to claw at the walls for support. It finally collapsed entirely, the smaller Blight that fought the forces around it seeming to lose direction and purpose, milling idly. Their shapes blurred, losing the details they’d had like ice melting in the heat of the sun. The damage to their Source seemed to take away their will to fight along with their ability to direct themselves, and some fell apart, oozing back towards the main mass. No! We will not be defeated… your defiance is NOTHING. The voice rang out, bouncing off the cement and tile of the old subway. From the mass that clogged the hallway, smeared down the walls and lumped up on the floor, the figure of the Source struggled to push itself up out of the mass below it as though climbing from thick, sticky mud. It lashed out desperately, sinking newly formed clawed limbs into the ceiling over their heads and the walls around it. Cement and tile cracked and rained down with a clatter, the whole area shuddering with the impact… and then something began to seep out of the cracks, running like water to the embedded claws and… into them. The Source pulled heavily at it, and the more that glowing icor flowed, the stronger it seemed to get. Lights all over the station flickered on suddenly, harsh and fluorescent, as Erytheia and Pyper found and flipped the switches to turn them on. The harsh light outlined the form of the source as it grew more defined, and as it did, the smaller Blight recovered as well, turning with murmurs of anger on their opponents. Their attacks picked back up, more intense this time, and new Blight surged to replace the ones that had fallen. All that energy we had gathered, hoarded so carefully… but no matter. We will deal with all of you, and then we will replace it. You will feed us… The hiss the Source let out seemed to echo throughout the area, gurgling from the throats of its minions. Some of the smaller Blight leap onto their opponents, slipping past their guard in a moment of distraction. With growling shrieks, they bite into arm, leg or shoulder and begin to pull, draining more energy. The Source seemed to revive further as that energy was fed back to them, further defining their features until eyes, nose and mouth could be seen. It was a feminine featured face, long, dark hair falling in sticky strands about it. Its mouth pulled unnaturally wide as it grinned down at the thrashing, fighting crowd of humanoids, revealing far too many teeth in far too wide of a mouth. A low, venomous laugh shook it, that too echoing from the throats of its smaller brethren. —--- Everyone has been attacked by one of their Blight monsters, using some lapse in attention to slip past their guard and latch onto them. Everyone loses 10 HP in addition to the damage from any unkilled Blight and some of their magic or energy. Senshi lose one casting of their highest level magic and Knights lose a third of their magic pool. Nega officers and Vanguardians feel exhausted, costing them one of their remaining concentrated attacks. The Source of the Blight has healed itself! Nearly all the damage that has been done to it so far has been fixed by the infusion of stored energy from the ground around it. It seems like it wasn’t just devouring all that energy it's been collecting… And the energy its draining from its opponents has made it even stronger. Now you’ll have to start over, and let’s hope you still have enough stamina yourself to beat this thing down for good! Damage to the Source: 513 0 The Source's HP is now 800! If your character hits 0 HP: They are incapacitated, but the exact form this takes is up to you! They can be knocked unconscious, severely injured, or just too exhausted to fight any more. The Blight attacking them, seeing them no longer a threat, will move on to others, blending back into the crowd. (everyone still only has three attackers though) Your character can no longer make attacks or use their magic, but you are still free to post and interact with other characters. Erytheia and Pyper have turned on the lights! Now the grossness of the monsters is even easier to see!

Eternal IdaHP: 64/100 Damage to Fang's Blight Monsters: 10 + 6 = 16 (takes down all 3 blight) Damage to Murikabushi's Blight Monsters: 10 + 4 = 14 (takes down 2 blight) The fight seemed to drag on and on… more monsters came to replace every one that she struck down. As her energy failed, she felt one of the smaller monsters score on her, dragging claws down her arm to draw lines of red in her dusky skin. Blood welled as she hissed in pain, resisting the urge to clap a very sticky, black hand down over the wound. At least the damage they had been doing seemed to be working. When she heard Hyperborea call out, she threw up an arm to shield herself against the flash of light. When she finally lowered her arm, she felt a lifting of hope as she watched the Source struggle and begin to fall apart, sinking down into itself with cries of anger…
Then, the whole subway station shook and she watched in horror as that… thing dug up into the earth and began to heal itself, drawing new energy from where it had been stored. She stumbled as it rose up again, stronger even than before, and looked around with a new sense of desperation at her tired and hurt allies. They couldn’t take much more of this… how were they going to beat this thing when they’d already used up so much of themselves? Fang’s cries pulled her attention around and she caught sight of Murikabushi as well, both of them looking harried and the worse for wear. She had to do something… She’d failed to keep the Dark Mirror safe on Astraya, when she’d promised to look out for him. She’d brought both of them into this, asked them for help. Everyone here was her responsibility, in a way, and they were taking heavy hits for it.
Then a flash of pain hit her and a cry broke from her as one of her attackers jumped her, sinking newly grown fangs into her thigh. Energy drained from her in a stream, making her waver, before she hit it with her fits and it fell apart, slinking back towards it fellows. More blood flowed, but she dragged herself upright and dodged her attackers, darting through the crowd towards the two. She struck out, over and over, driving fists and feet into the black monsters attacking the two, and burst all but one of them apart with some small, tired bit of satisfaction.
“Are you okay?” She asked, looking to each in turn. Fang in particular got a sharp look over, since her strikes had freed him from the grip of the dark tendril. “I can try to cover you, if you stick close.”
She turned then to face her own attackers, finally catching up to her after her dash, and prepared to meet them with fists raised.

Heliodor, Corrupt Super Senshi of RyutanHP:29/75 18-18=36(From missed previous attacks)-10 (automatic damage this round)=46. 75-46=29 Damage to Blights: 10 damage (⅔ dead) Damage to Source: 8 Damage The battle was non-stop. Very little time between opponents meant little time to recoup as the damn creature regenerated themselves almost as fast as they could attack. On the flip side, there was the issue of the bigger opponent. “Kind of hard to figure out a way to attack it if we shouldn'tget close enough for physical attacks in case we get drained. And by the looks of it, a lot of senshi have used up their magic.” He responded to Faustite. “It’s looking like it can’t keep up though.” And sure enough their big, ugly friend seemed to be faultering. Well, until it wasn’t. What was that odd glow? Eyes blinked rapidly as light flooded the station. A warning would have been nice to avoid the dazzling spots that now flared in his vision. That little bit of distraction was all the closest blight needed to land a nasty blow that left Helio skittering back out of range to catch his breath. “Damn it.” He huffed out. “Nix that. Apparently it’s perfectly fine again.” What a load of crap this was. And the white moon didn’t look to be faring any better. Great. Just great. "How ar you two holding up?" A fair enough question for a fight that felt never-ending. Corrupt Super Sailor Fulgurite, Senshi of SpringsHP: 59/75 Damage to Source: 15 "Only the kindest words for the boss." The words themselves sounded nice enough, but there was a sarcasm laced behind his words. And considering he had used the word experience, perhaps the reason why he was being sarcastic was obvious. It was followed by a volley of curses and annoyance as he found himself hit by a blight monster he thought he had gotten rid of, and he suffered for it. He suffered for it while the head monster was lit up in light and complaining that it was going to succeed anyway. Nothing was ever easy, was it. "Really wish it would stop sapping us," he punctuated that with a yawn that was both legitimately tired and sarcastic as he attempted to pull at his magic pool.

How long had it been down here? “I’m Erytheia.” The knight said as he walked into the light. “Let’s go find your friend.”He offer to pick Pyper up as he swatted away her Blights and eyed the Source. ✪

Anakeion Squire of CastorHP: 43/75 Damage to Blights: 8 + 2 = 10, 2/3 dead, 1 at 5/5 Anakeion did not excel in long fights. She knew it. Her magic was good for one-and-dones; if she didn't manage it carefully (which she was only, like, so good at even after these years) it ran out before she knew it, and then all she had was what being a Knight gave her.
This? This was a long ******** fight, and she was starting to get tired. She was getting distracted. People were bleeding, people were yelling, there were thirty million things to keep her eyes on, and she'd gotten fenced away from Cepheus at some point - when had that happened? - so all she could do was take out two, mumbling "Man, this ******** sucks," to herself.

Abzu, Page of NeptuneHP: 22/50 Damage to Monsters: 1/3 down, 2/5, 5/5 Something seemed to have caught his fighting companion's attention, and while she turned it to a very useful rage, he was concerned about what she had seen. Concerned enough that he did manage to get smacked by some other dripping goo humanoid monster thing -- ew. He was going to need a nice hot tub soak after this-- "Thank you!" That stung bad. When was this going to end? He still couldn't chance changing his focus, either. These were doing too much harm to him--to them--maybe the stronger people there could handle it a bit better. He could do with those extra squire powers right about then. "Did you see something?" He attempted another swing.

Sailor CepheusHP: 22/50 Damage to Blights: 10+1 -- 2 down, 1 at 4/5 Anakeion was flagging, and Cepheus... she wasn't doing too good, either. Was this what real fights were like? She really didn't think she liked it, or that she wanted to do it again. There was gross residue on her face, where she'd rubbed her eyes, she thought her knees were bruised through her tights, and her head hurt with everything going on, too.
But she kept fighting. She used her magic, again. What else was she going to do? This had to end soon.
Right?

Beira, Super Senshi of LonelinessHP: 47/75 Damage to Blight Monsters: 8+4 = 12 ; (3 HP left for 1) A sense of dread washed over Beira, because no matter how much they seemed to do it was never enough. The monsters kept reappearing, and the worst of them all, the creature speaking seemed to just absorb whatever they threw at it.
He wasn’t going to give up, he wasn’t going to stop fighting, but he couldn’t imagine that with all of them there trying to contain this, they were still struggling so much.
At least the stairs were nearby, maybe they’d be able to make it out of here if the battle seemed unwinnable. He wasn’t ready to think that they were so greatly outmatched yet, but he’d have been a fool not to consider their options.
Surtur seemed like he had limitless energy, and while Beira didn’t think he could compete with that, it was invigorating all the same. The new light on the area certainly made it easier to see what he was attacking, but…
It wasn’t very pretty to begin with, and he couldn’t help but think it just put a bigger target on their backs, too. So, he’d strike fast, and hard, and hope that they could take down these monsters before they got in any more sneak attacks. He’d been hit at his back–and it looked like Rainier and Surtur hadn’t been any more successful in avoiding their attackers than he had.

Rainier - Page of MercuryHP: 34 - 10 = 24HP Blight Monster: 5/5 (new), 5/5 (new), 5/5 (new) Damage to Blight Monster:5 + 9 = 14 [Killing Beira's, one of her own, one of Surtur's and damaging one of her own for 1 HP] - [0/5, 4/5, 5/5] " Beira!" She shouted, but the warning came too late. When the lights turned on, leaving her dazzled a moment from the sudden brightness, she caught sight of a grotesque creature as it took a swing at her friend. Rainier moved towards him only to find herself staggering forward and into one when one, which she had thought was dead, struck her from behind; landing a solid hit on her right shoulder causing her weapon to fall to the ground in front of her. She shoved the one she had been pushed into aside and grabbed the Mercury symbol off the floor then turned to the one that had slammed into her and slashed at its chest all the while trying to ignore how more human they were beginning to look. "Whoever turned the lights on is welcome to turn it back off." She did not want to see the faces of these creatures take more form as she did what needed to be done to guard the staircase so they didn't make it up and onto the streets of Destiny City. They had to be contained but- this was getting to be too overwhelming. So she swung and swung again until the cord broke a second time and she staggered back feeling sore and exhausted from making sure Beira had a clear way to get back to them but these oily monstrosities were closing in quickly. "I don't know how much more of this I can take-" Rainier looked up at Surtur apologetically. guine Surtur has one dead and two at full

Noelle/Chibi AbeosamuHP: 20-15=5 Damage to blight monsters: 5+1d10- 1d10(because she’s a chibi) = 5 (she took down 1 enemy) Abeosamu was worse for wear. Even though the lights had finally come on, the monsters seemed to drain her energy. She couldn’t even muster another of her magic attacks. The blight attacking her sunk in its teeth as she tried desperately to kick it away. She looked pleading at the guardian cat nearby. Though she knew there probably wasn’t much they could do to help. They were in their own predicament. Still she would try and hold on til Pyper found her. Pyper/MauvianHP: 51-10(energy drain)=41 Damage to blight monsters: Not attacking this turn, as Erythia destroyed them for her Pyper grimaced as the lights went on and she could now see the source. What a hideous creature. She turned to Erythia and nodded, hopping into his arms. She then crawled up onto his shoulders and pointed with a paw. “That way!” Hopefully they could get rid of the next wave of creatures and find Abeosamu in time. If not, Pyper wouldn’t hold it against Erythia if he wished to leave her to go combat the source.

Corrupt Sailor Hylonome of EdelweissHP: 34/50 HP (( one use of magic drained )) Damage to Blights: 5 + 5 = 10dmg (1 blight remains 5/5) Even as the lights flooded the subway area in a bright white light did Hylonome catch the source's apparent weakening. Was that it then, did they stand a chance at beating whatever it was. It seemed to her like the thing was a parasite, leeching all life it found wherever it found itself next. The idea wouldn't leave her mind after she thought about it. A sharp pain along her leg had Hylonome jerking backwards as a blight she hadn't seen had managed to latch onto her at some point. Kicking out she destroyed the creature but it had apparently done it's work. Some of the vigor that she had had throughout the battle was gone. With an extraordinary amount of effort did she manage to destroy yet another blight so that she was left with just one. But the after-effect of feeling like she'd just lost something more was alarming.
Her gaze found Hatsya & Xyla and she moved closer to them in an effort to at least regroup. It looked like the Mauvian was struggling and maybe there was safety in numbers.

Xyla - Guardian CatHP: 38 - 10 = 28 Blight Monsters: 5/5 (new), 5/5 (new), 5/5 (new), Damage to Blight Monsters:4 + 3 = 7 [0/5, 3/5, 5/5] Xyla was already struggling to stay on her feet when a one of the creatures grabbed hold of her, lifting her off the ground with ease in what one might consider a bear hut but this was anything but an affectionate embrace. Ears pinned back against her head she hissed loudly, twisted her body and felt a sharp pain in her side. It held no weapons but something was definitely broken if not incredibly bruised. Slashing at its throat with her claw she ended the oozy oily mass until it dropped her in a pile of the gunk that had been pooling on the floor beneath their feet. "H-Hatsya," Xyla struggled for breath and knew she would not be able to last much longer. "Hylonome... we-" She blinked slowly then shook her head when the sight of both their faces began to blur from the sudden energy loss. "We need to leave. This is too much for us to handle." There is no honor in staying here to fight a losing battle when the best option is to retreat, regroup, and get reinforcements before coming back down here again. For all the damage Prehnite and the others attacking the Source had done, the creature controlling all the waves of mindless humanoid figures healed all damage caused to it. All that energy was for naught and Xyla felt like this might take a General Sovereign to finally kill since Eternals, Generals, and Knights were not enough and she no longer had the energy to use her beam to help punch their way out of here. "Hatsya- get Prehnite's attention. Tell him- tell him we need to leave. Her smaller size often afforded her more agile maneuverability especially when shoulder to shoulder in a crowd as thick as this. But with whatever injury she had just sustained, Xyla wasn't moving anywhere quickly for a while.
