I got some Personality!
USERNAME: NovaCracker
If male: Name: Portabello Temper: Earthy Personality: Calm, and very down to earth. Portabello loves soil, and the air when it's wet. He prefers forests to the open and seems to permanently live in warm wet places, learning. He believes in magic and that all Soquili can do it, but as he cannot, truly, he settles for learning about speaking and the power of words, so that if he speaks, his words move others.
Plot ideas: Maybe he could meet new people, go new places? He might not settle down easily-- though it would be cute if he met and took on students eventually.
If female: Name: Blythe Temper: Gentle Personality: Blythe is kind, quiet, shy, and gentle. She loves her family and will do anything for them to the extend of risking her own health and well being. She is easily bullied, and prefers staying close to her parents or siblings. She is however, loyal enough to fight for them, and nothing will ever take that away.
Plot ideas: Blythe would do best meeting outsiders as an adult. As a mare she will be used to fleeing strangers-- it would be nice is a stallion with a warm, kind personality became her mate and helped her grow more confident and strong. She's not stupid either-- outwitting someone, showing her she is strong would be a goal of mine.

I got some Personality!
USERNAME: Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
If male: Name: Aestivum (From Tuber aestivum, the summer truffle) Temper: Reserved Personality: On the surface, it can be difficult to tell just what Aestivum is thinking. He is exceptionally calm and all his actions are done carrying a sense of purpose, even the lowliest chore given to him. Much like his mother, he strongly believes in the good spirits of the world and the divinity of the land. Most of his life has been dedicated to caring for the land his father calls home and its inhabitants. His tendings are done in complete silence, although it remains to be seen whether he is legitimately mute or simply chooses not to speak. Despite his silence, he is not averse to company - his dedication to the land can get lonely at times and he welcomes friendly faces.
Plot ideas:
Still Waters Run Deep - Foal to adult. As a foal, Aestivum runs into an agemate who takes it upon themself to befriend him. At this age, he's already fairly silent - and perhaps his agemate perceives him as shallow for not actively engaging in conversation. It's only over time that they begin to realize there's far more to him than his silence. How this friend's revelation comes to them and how it progresses from there can be determined later.
Birds Of A Feather Flock Together - Foal to adult. Not everyone can understand Aestivum's silence or his dedication to the land. This plot is all about him finding those who can. Whether they're fellow non-speakers, or others who love tending the land as much as he does, they somehow come together and form an unofficial group. Not so much a herd as everyone can come and go as they please and there are no set ranks, but a close group of friends who all seem to have something in common.
Oil And Water Don't Mix - Foal or adult. Friendship isn't always easy, and sometimes two people just weren't meant to be friends. That's what this particular plot is all about - Aestivum meeting someone and trying to befriend them, but that friendship just isn't working. They're too different and they grate on each others nerves. Perhaps they do have something in common, but that just isn't enough to make the friendship work. They can part on good or bad terms.
Sometimes Love Isn't Enough - Adult. It's Aestivum's first love and oh boy is it a doozy. He's head over hooves fallen for another soquili - mare or stallion - and after a little bit of courting it's fairly clear that they return the feeling. Over the next few months, they just keep coming back to each other, and it's fairly clear that what they're feeling isn't just some fleeting crush. But then the other soquili drops the bombshell - it's impossible for them to be together. Perhaps they have family who would forbid the union or an obligation to their herd, but it's clear there just isn't any way for them to work out no matter how much they both fight to make it work.
Faint Heart Never Won Lady Fair - Adult. After his crushing failure with his first love, finally another soquili catches Aestivum's eye. The problem is he doesn't have the courage to pursue them. He finds himself riddled with doubt about whether things will work out, and very nearly misses his opportunity entirely. Perhaps there's another suitor moving in, or maybe the soquili won't be in the land he cares for much longer. Either way, he has to find his courage and make his infatuation known. Whether the other soquili returns his feelings or not is completely up for discussion, although I would like Aestivum to find a little happiness after his heartbreak.
If female: Name: Suklaatryffeli (Chocolate Truffle in Finnish) Temper: Lyrical Personality: Spending only a few minutes around Suklaatryffeli is all you need to find that what defines her life is music. It's an unusual day when there isn't a song in her heart or hummed under her breath, although the type of song tends to fluctuate depending on her mood. Of course, not all soquili find her musicality endearing - and she often happy to quiet down when asked. She does try her best to accommodate others, even if there isn't a hope of her getting along with them. You'd be hard pressed to change her opinion that every new face is just another potential friend, no matter how badly wrapped the package of friendship might be.
Plot ideas:
All Things Are Difficult Before They Are Easy - Foal. Music has always been particularly easy for Suklaa, but at some point she feels like she wants to branch out to dancing as well. To do this she needs a teacher. Preferably a very patient teacher, because as good as she is with singing and humming she has an absolutely terrible sense of rhythm when it comes to her own four hooves. Learning to dance will see her struggling a lot, and she needs a good teacher to guide her through this rough patch before she finally gets the hang of things.
A Bad Penny Always Turns Up - Foal to adult. This plot would involve a soquili who seems to keep popping up in Suklaa's life - someone who isn't at all nice. Perhaps they take an interest in her specifically, or maybe the two of them just have bad luck and seem to often be in the same place at the same time. The important part is that the same nasty soquili always seems to be just around the corner, and it gets to the point where Suklaa almost begins to see them as an omen of ill fortune. Either bad things always seem to follow them, or she's just reading into coincidence too much.
Any Port In A Storm - Foal or adult. Something very very bad has happened. Maybe there's a terrible storm brewing and Suklaa is having trouble finding shelter or maybe she's gotten very sick and needs someone to nurse her back to health. The point is, she has a very serious problem and can't wait around for the perfect solution to it. She has to take the first option - even if that option isn't very appealing. This could possibly tie into her Bad Penny above, but it could involve a completely different soquili who maybe isn't very nice. They just need to be a convenient solution to her absolutely terrible problem.
Give The Devil His Due - Adult. Another plot that possibly ties into Bad Penny, the point of this one is Suklaa needs to actually get to know a soquili who isn't very nice on the outside. She may not have always judged books by their covers, but she sure didn't give many coarse soquili the benefit of a doubt before now. A jerk with a heart of gold would fit this plot best - she needs to uncover something about an otherwise bad soquili that isn't quite so bad. She's had her fair share of devils in her life up to this point, and it's time for her to finally admit that they're just as prone to having good qualities as any other soquili out there.
Marry In Haste And Repent At Leisure - Adult. It's summer love in the worst possible way - Suklaa has fallen head over hooves for a handsome stallion and he feels the same way. Rather than taking it slow and getting to know each other, they rush into a lifemating because they believe there's no way they won't work. Except they find out a little later that they aren't so compatible as they first thought. So now they have a choice - they could see about breaking their lifemating, or they could stick it out and try to resolve their differences. Either way they're both going to feel horribly embarrassed about their rash decision in the first place.
