Tziporah had been spending time with her Herd. They recently were trying t ogrow in numbers and were thinking of expanding... However, anyone not of the Harpy influence like her, would jsut be an outsider. However, the idea sparked something in Tzi. She and Anzu had enjoyed countless 'pleasureable' evenings together... And she knew that he wasn't keeping company with another mare. Regardless of the strange loyality she felt toward him. Maybe it was time to ask him to grow the herd, directly with her. That would also give her a better status, even if there was only other other member aside from her.
Tzi was tired of being 2nd best. Carrying his foals would put her on a pedastal... As well as connect her with Anzu permantely. As she lowered herself from the skies to the spot she usually met Anzu, his massive form was easily spotted."My Lord Anzu." She spoke announcing her arrival to him.
He'd settled on a ledge over looking his territory and the pool normally occupied by Unnr. She'd been away more often as of late, forcing him to pick up more of the hunting himself. It wasn't like her. Buried deep beneath his scowl he was worried that she'd injured herself in those deep waters and was unable to return to her home pond. If so then she was on her own. He couldn't follow her there.
The familiar sound of the wind over Tzi's wings alerted him to her approach well before she spoke. She had a unique and welcome sound and her voice was like honey to him. He stood and turned to face her, a gesture of respect he only saved for the naga and his mate.
"Yes, Tziporah?"
Tziporah lowered her chest toward the ground when he turned to face her. Regardless of anything he would always show him his proper respect. But she felt herself glowing under his gaze. Such strange feelings she felt... She was never tol about things like this. "My Lord, I appologize for my recent absence. The Hetalion Herd required my prescence." She offered to him.
She took a few steps toward him and peered up. His form was massive against hers. She wasn't very large regardless but his wings engulfed her. "I have a proposal I would like to offer to you. The other Herd got me thinking and I think this will benefit us, you." The mare folded her wings and awaiting his answer. She wasn't a hasty mare, but there was something about the idea of little hooves that made her heart all a flutter.
He stood taller as she bowed. Her form was lean, yet strong. A beautiful medley of feathers and scales.
"I will never understand why you continue to return to them," he replied, moving beside her so he could fold a wing over her smaller frame. "Are you faithful, my Tziporah?"
He bent his neck to nuzzle her, "Surely you wouldn't dream of suggesting I return with you. You would know better than that."
Tzi relished in the feeling of having his wing over her form. She enjoyed belong to him, and she tiltedher head curiously as he spoke. "I haven't been granted my appreance with the Elder yet. Once I ask to leave I will be shunned by them. But not hunted." She rang her tongue over one of her fangs before she shook her head. "Of course not, I would never ask such a silly thing." She exhaled. "And of course I am faithful to you my Lord."
"The Herd has begun expanding their numbers..." She averted her eyes for a moment. "I was going to suggest that we do the same... Expanding the herd." Her heart began to beat quickly. She hoped that her subtle message was received by him.
"Your place is beside me. Their approval is entirely insignificant," he moved away, walking toward the edge of the cliff to gaze down at the water. "Yes. I do think you right, Tziporah. A larger herd would make my lands safer, larger." They would need more space if they were to expand. Only so much game could be hunted on the limited lands he was able to patrol.
"Surely you're not the only one who wishes to defect. You would do well to bring them to me," a herd of mares, all sisters, with Unnr and Tzi leading them. He would be able to relax more readily, pass off the hunting to the mares. He looked back at Tziporah, "Yes, I do think I would like to expand."
Tzi watched him as he walked away. He would be such a regal father. She shook her head trying to focus on the matter at hand. Defecting... She tilted her head with her jaw slightly open. He wanted her to recruit from her current herd? But that... She blinked at him a few times and then puffed herself up. Stallions were so... It was impossible for her to directly say it. It woudl be against some unspoke code from a leader and an underling.
Her body tensed up frustartedly and she hooved the ground. Recruiting from her herd would also only bring other mares... More mares? Could he possible want. The gall of that stallion. She stuttered over her words before she caught herself. The tone was tight and highly formal. "As you command, My Lord." She bit out. He wanted more land, more power. Feh.
"Those who can fly will be under your command. Second to me, equal only to Unnr," he looked up from the lake. "We will make a safe place here.
It seemed he didn't notice her frustration, "Centered around this lake, I think. Unnr will lead those who swim and protect the waterways."
Tzi sighed inwardly, her tone hadn't changed. "Oh how wonderful..." She looked down at the ground and grumbled some. Sure, those that use to boss her around would loooove to be under her charge. She shook her head some, there was no way she could even make this happen, not that she wanted too but failing him... The price could be more then she had to offer. The other mare Unnr was on her own. There weren't any water types in the Hetalon's.
He grinned as he moved back over to pull her under his wing, "Now only one thing has me wondering. What made you want to expand?"
Tziporah shifted against him not saying anything at first. She was anooyed but it wouldn't proper of her to hold anything against her Leader. He left his formalness down which meant he wanted to talk to her, as her. Not an underling. "I thought having a ... Family, would have been nice." She said as casually as she could. "But expanding with more members will take precedence." She kept her eyes straight ahead. There, she said it.
He grinned and bent to nuzzle her, "A larger herd would make it safer for a growing family. Our brood would grow up along side their peers. A new generation made of friends and loyal allies. We will prepare the lands for them. We will remain patient."
The mare returned his nuzzle and then looked at him quickly when he spoke. Don't over do it, acting like a filly over this will just make he loose confidence in your abilities. Outwardly, she looked as placid as a lake, but inside she was leaping for joy. He... He wanted to have a family with her. But yes... She understood now. With such small herd as is, a rival could come and snatch their foals away.
He looked back toward the lake.
