Hobbies:

Make-Up - Maisie insists she likes to look her best, but the truth is she just likes to fit in with other girls her age. Make-up has become popular among her age group, so she buys all the things and watches all the tutorials, and slathers a bunch of creams and powders on her face. She doesn’t mind the way it looks, but it’s itchy and it smells kind of gross, so she’s always on the lookout for better products. She hates that it feels like a necessity now, but she also wouldn’t be caught dead leaving the house with a bare face.

Social Media - What else is there to do when you’re sitting around bored out of your mind, or hanging around with a bunch of people you don’t want to talk to? Maisie’s preferred haunts are TikTok and Instagram, but she’ll turn to Twitter for, like, current news. That’s a great place to get news, right? She won’t touch Facebook. That’s for old people. She spends most of her time scrolling and consuming content more than she posts anything of her own, except her Instagram is full of bad quality photos. It’s an aesthetic.

Arts & Crafts - When she can pull herself away from her phone, Maisie likes to make crafts. It’s something calming to do, even if they turn out garbage. Sometimes they’re better when they’re bad. Like, it’s funny when the cat ornament she was putting together looks a little squashed. She goes to the craft store often, and definitely stocks up on seasonal items to make in her down time. If her friends express an interest, she can be convinced to give some away as gifts.

Virtues:

Sociable - As the least popular among her popular group of friends back in her hometown, Maisie made herself be social to stand out. She can strike up a conversation with almost anyone, almost anywhere. Naturally friendly, Maisie doesn’t have much trouble adapting to social settings. Even if she isn’t all that interested in a topic, she can still hold a conversation about it as long as she needs to. Sometimes she learns things along the way, which is cool, because she can usually apply what she’s learned to some other conversation later.

Tenacious - A strong-willed girl who knows what she wants, Maisie generally doesn’t give into fear. If something scares her, she’ll push herself forward until she works through it. If something disappoints her, she’ll find some way to make it better. If someone’s mean to her, well… she doesn’t have a problem telling them exactly where they can shove it. She knows her worth, and she isn’t afraid to make sure others know it, too.

Flaws:

Impetuous - Sometimes, Maisie doesn’t think things through. She knows what she wants, after all, and she generally does whatever she has to in order to get it, even if that occasionally means stepping over other people. Maisis is stubborn and a bit impulsive — reckless, if you will. She prefers the term “spontaneous,” but her dad insists that’s too tame, especially when she gets herself into tricky situations. Maisie insists this habit of hers has its benefits, in that it keeps life exciting.

Envious - Again, Maisie is a girl who knows what she wants. Sometimes, she doesn’t get what she wants, in which case Maisie is a girl who is no stranger to jealousy. She’ll pout and whine and stare with greedy eyes. She can grow resentful when she feels like other people are shoving their good fortune in her face. Others might call her moody. Maisie thinks she’d be a lot less moody if the world wasn’t so unfair.

44. Kimberly found work as a fitness/lifestyle coach, but proved to be about as interested in her employment as she was in her child, which is to say not at all. The opposite of David, Kimberly has been an inattentive parent, often “too stressed” by the presence of her child to “deal with her.” She and David divorced after Kimberly cheated on him with a client.

67. David’s sister, Claire served in the navy before marrying well, living a bit of an idyllic life as a housewife and socialite, and raising three sons in the process. Maisie hopes to follow in her footsteps — not so much the housewife part, but definitely the socialite part.

Beau Gallo
Deceased at age 71. Would be 72. Beau came from the affluent and renowned Gallo family. Though he lived comfortably on his family’s money, he was a dedicated man who spent most of his life serving in the Navy, reaching the rank of Admiral. His sudden death, though kept quiet, was nonetheless a traumatic event among his family.

Michael Gallo
37. Kind of a stick in the mud. Michael works as a teacher at Azure. Maisie hasn’t had many opportunities to grow close to him over the years, seeing as he’s so much older and a bit distant. He’s a boring adult, though, so Maisie’s not too upset about it.

Chris Gallo
30. A professional baseball player, Chris leads the sort of exciting life of travel and moderate fame that Maisie finds appealing, minus the kids she tolerates but doesn’t want for herself. If she were older, she’d harass Chris to help her snag an athlete. The last time she asked him to introduce her to some of his teammates, he laughed and changed the subject.

Peter Gallo
22. The fun cousin, by virtue of being the youngest of the three. Peter goes to DCU, where he’s studying to be some sort of adventurer. Possibly. Maisie isn’t too sure. Peter seems both enthusiastic and disenchanted. He spends a lot of time with some girl who isn’t his girlfriend. Maisie doesn’t believe him.
