In one corner of the hall was a certain gardener who wouldn't have stayed away from a place of botanical beauty if he'd been paid to. Nathaniel was wandering aimlessly around the place, looking quite at ease in spite of the fact that he likely knew no one and was just here for the plants.

(It was definitely just for the plants.)

Steele Moore ( dressed as a vampire )


On another side of the hall, a tall, blond haired man with a wicked smile and a charming temperament (according to him) was sweeping around the room as though it belonged to him, a glass of what looked like wine in his hand but was really just grape juice.

Steele was quite pleased to be in this place, possibly to make connections.

Adrien Davids ( dressed prettily as himself )


In yet another place in the hall, Adrien was standing with his fingers laced together with his boyfriend's, dressed in a pair of form fitting, fashionable jeans, a pair of boots that were slightly heeled past the usual amount, and a blue button down shirt that had lace around the cuffs.

He was, to the say the least, delighted to be here.

At least half of that delight - possibly three fourths of it - had do with his boyfriend and less to do with the actual botanical gardens, but that was beside the point.

"Look at that plant!" Adrien was now saying enthusiastically, pointing at something large and red. "I'd love to have that in my loft."

Fritz St. James ( dressed as Charlie Weasley, complete with stuffed dragon tied to his shoulder )


Fritz very much needed to do the following things:

a) get out of the house;

and

b) get out of the house and stop thinking too much about certain things.

Only one of these was really possible, and it didn't help that the more he tried not to think of certain things, the more he actually did think of certain things, so really, there was no helping it. But at least the plants were beautiful to look at.

And at least he wasn't terribly out of sorts. Mostly.

Izobel Beckett (Black Widow from Marvel)

After the fiasco of being sucked into a mirror and transported who knows where Izobel was finding herself needing to do something normal. The red-headed teenager had heard about the Botannical Garden event and if anything wanted to go and see if there were any plants that could be considered insect friendly. She wanted to learn as well as have fun. Thinking about costume ideas aside eventually she was looking hard for ideas that would work for redheads and settled on the Marvel character, Black Widow. So by the time the event opened Izobel found herself in all black (jeans, shirt, jacket) that closely resembled what she had found online.

One piece of her outfit that was missing were weapons but that didn't bother the teen that much.

Basil Whybourne ( dressed as his usual self, in nice slacks, button down, and vest )


Basil was not, in the strictest sense of the word, a socializer.

He wasn't even a socializer in the loosest sense of the word, but he was here nonetheless, because it made sense to at least observe the goings on of the city, even if he didn't care for or understand most of it. He supposed it was pointless to try and associate with anyone, but well, it did have its benefits.

He would have rather been with Arachne, but since he only knew him by his powered name, there was no telling when he'd get to see him next. Basil plucked up a glass of champagne as he walked, taking a small sip as he stopped beside a particularly leafy sort of fern to scrutinize.

Archer Wren ( dressed ironically as a black dog )


It was not often that Wolfeite took his civilian guise anymore, but every once in a while he deemed it necessary enough in order to observe possible candidates for corruption - or really just manipulation in general. It felt unbelievably vulnerable to be Archer and not General; but Archer supposed he could bear with it for a short time, if it meant getting something worthwhile out of it.

As for the worthwhile part, well...it would be depend on how the evening went.

Seth Volkov ( dressed as a demon, complete with horns and tail in a black skintight, sleeveless turtleneck shirt and black pants with black boots )


The wine was terrible.

It was nothing like what he was used to, and nothing like what he wanted. Seth stared down into the half full glass and made a face before setting it aside and reaching for a glass of water instead. He wasn't about to force himself into drinking swill if he could help it.

There was no one interesting here, not yet; he would wait it out a bit and see, but for now...

He had finally - finally - convinced Michael that there was absolutely nothing wrong with going out.

And even more, there was nothing wrong with going out and seeing other places that weren't the walls of their house, or the top of his ceiling, or the television screen that proclaimed reruns possibly every single hour of every single day that Caspian had been in recovery.

"See?" he said now, giving Michael's hand a squeeze. "It's fine."

Yvaine had not attended to a public event since her purification. There was some anxiety that lingered, an underlying fear that people would realise that she was not all there; not just yet. Recovery was a long process and though she was getting a little better every day some things were still foggy. In many ways she still felt like a stranger to herself, a feeling she now realised would never truly disappear.

However, she was glad she was at least in the company of a friend. Gwen was separate from the group that was caring for her, an outsider reminded her that there was a life beyond the ever complex family that she had found herself a part of. It helped her relax, feel like she could venture outside the bubble ever so often.

The brunette was wearing her dreadlocks down, and her dess, though not Halloween themed could be mistaken as a costume for those who did not understand Yvaine's love of hideous patterns and hippie fashion. Grey eyes looked to her friend.

"I do not think I have been here before, it smells like your flower shop though. It is funny, I am going to start associating you with them. Like some kind of druid - maybe an elf." She nudged her gently.

Tristan Lestrange

Tristan had found out about the event because of a flyer on Fiona's kitchen counter when he had surfaced from his room after a long bout of sleeping too much to recover. The last few weeks had been hellish, to say the least, with his stitches still aching.

They probably could be removed by now, but he was going to worry about it later.

He had a very important party at the gardens that he hadn't wanted to miss out on. When he'd mentioned it to Danny, who had checked in on him while he was recovering (after fussing because he had gotten more injured right after he'd passed out bleeding in his living room) the blonde had talked animatedly about how amazing it would be to get to go.

Naturally, that meant he was going and he'd take Danny with him.

Fiona had helped with the costume, which was an old school photographer's get up with one of those old cameras that had the flash built into it in the form of a large silver disc. He felt goofy, and a bit unoriginal, and he didn't even match with his friend.

Was that embarrassing?

He tried not to focus on it. "I...I don't know," he answered, pulled from his panicky thoughts by his friend's voice. "Come on, let's look at the plants. I need some ideas."
