Background The first son of a small (by imp standards) family, Ravid has been surrounded by precious gemstones and relatives since he was a soul stone. A firm mix of his mother's artsy spirit and his father's diplomacy, he's always been interested in the family business. He often accompanied his mother--to her design station in the back or in a corner at home where she did sketches--as a child. His father, on the other hand, was the one who often played with and taught him academics. The relationship between his parents, that of best friends who complete each other rather than lovers, has led him to believe that friendship is more important than romance. Although as an imp, family is the most important relationship of all.
The family business was conceived of by his maternal grandfather (an archaeologist) which was helped greatly by his paternal grandmother's charming nature in attracting employees and customers. (His maternal grandmother was a spell maker and his paternal grandfather was an accountant.) As all of his immediate family and both sets of grandparents have put blood, sweat, and tears into the business, he wishes to follow in the family's steps. He has been primed and raised to one day take over. In fact he has already designed a fair amount of pieces (under his mother's guidance) but he knows he needs to know how to run a business, as well. As such he has enrolled in Asterion to get the education he needs in running the store.
With such a loving upbringing, Ravid has an easy belief that all species should be treated with respect and kindness. At least until they prove otherwise. That said, he is often most comfortable with imps or those who wear their hearts on their sleeves, so to speak. He's quite proud of being an imp as well as his enrollment at Asterion.
Personality Ravid is a creative soul who ideally would like nothing more than to sit and sketch jewelry designs. He finds this comes easily to him and as such is relaxing which is often much needed. While he does follow in the footsteps of his father (and his paternal grandmother) when it comes to diplomacy, he also has inherited his mother's unfortunate temper. When diplomacy fails, especially when someone has been attacked, he tends to explode. Despite his small stature, he is a fierce and--when in the haze of anger--unforgiving fighter. He despises this trait but as of now has found no way to temper it. (Nor has his mother although she often places herself in the company of his father as a safeguard.) Luckily it is indeed rare that he encounters a situation that cannot be talked out.
A dreamer, he gets rather attached to ideal futures he can see when meeting others for the first time. This can get him into trouble, emotionally, as the other person usually is not so instantly connected with him. He has yet to make such occurrences awkward although it does wear on him emotionally. From this and his explosions, rare as they may be, he has a tendency to become avoidant of the world around him. While it is done in good intentions, usually to balance his emotions and repair his good mood, he does not see how it can harm him and when done long enough tends to make things quite strange to those who have been ignored. He maintains that he needs to disconnect; his parents point out that doing so is only a poor way to escape from what Ravid believes would be the consequences of being less than his best self.
At the end of the day, the imp is loyal. He will stand by his family and friends no matter. This does not mean he will necessarily agree with them if they've done something wrong but he won't abandon them for faults. He explains it off as doing otherwise would be hypocritical. As an imp, a close bond with family is expected and thus he doesn't see it as anything more than breathing; it simply is. And his friends are all the more lucky for it.
Positive: Creative - Surrounded by the family's interest in gemstones from a young age, Ravid is often daydreaming about how to take their wares to the next level. He is credited with designing some of the most acclaimed pieces of late. It is a talent that comes easily to him and while he'd never complain--in fact enjoys it immensely--he knows that in order to take over the business he'll need to understand more than just how to twist metal or find the best gemstones available. Diplomatic - As most imps are, he is far more interested in solving problems with words than with fists. He has an ease with getting to the heart of disputes and is often cited as a calming presence on those around him. Of course, he usually ends up inviting those involved to visit his family's jewelry shop where he works (and may one day own, provided he graduates). Loyal - Once a family member or a friend, always a family member or friend. There is nothing that makes him believe it is best to leave those he cares about. Even when they do make mistakes, he believes they'll always be better off with a steadfast relation or friend by their side.
Negative: Avoidant - When ideals he has built up end up broken or his rage has reared its ugly head, he has a tendency to disappear. More often than not, he settles himself at home with a sketchbook and stays there until he can stop thinking of the events in question. In moderation it wouldn't be a bad thing but more often than not, it stretches on until his absence becomes noticeable in ways that can damage relationships as well as his own honor. Unless a prior engagement was made ahead of time, he will end up holed up until he feels better. After such times, he tends to brush it off altogether with apologies not realizing it's something that needs to be fixed. Dreamer - Ravid is a dreamer and while normally this would not be a bad thing, he has a tendency to get ahead of himself. This most often occurs in personal relationships, whether he became infatuated and saw a future painted in marriage followed by family or befriended someone only to find he had believed them to be better friends than time yet allowed. It may result in days of grief for the future that could have been but often he bounces back quickly. As of late, his dreamer tendencies have most affected his want to continue schooling as he'd rather design jewelry then run the store. Explosive - As most, he has a berserk button. When others are attacked--whether it be verbal or physical--and diplomacy fails, he has found (to his dismay) that fists are often what carry the most weight. Small in stature compared to some other species, he is often underestimated as a threat and he knowingly uses it to his advantage. All well and good, if he wasn't susceptible to losing himself in the anger and taking things too far. It is a trait he has inherited from his mother and he often must disconnect from others after such episodes as he has trouble seeing himself in the violence he doles out.
Background Hailing from The Scepters, this chimera is from a family that is considered 'celebrities' though she herself isn't one (yet). [Why her family are 'celebrities'.]
When she was a junior, an announcement was made revealing that her parents had agreed to a betrothal to one, Mytrax. The other chimera has been a friend since they were little while her family has often played bodyguard to Lux's own family. Fond enough of each other to get engaged...
Personality A walking dichotomy, Lux often appears as a harmless flirt. All exuberance, she gives off an air of flippant girl who would rather goof off than study. This, of course, is a lie. Lux is exuberant but she takes her studies very seriously. A chimera who is into competition, she waltzes into classrooms with a smile that advertises harmless and then, turns into a shark out for blood. One might think the shark is her true identity but that is also wrong. Lux is far more complicated than one face will ever show.
While she is xenophobic, to a mild degree, she has no desire to antagonize outright. She does however allow her flirtatious nature to size up the races she meets. If she likes someone, as she does her fiancée, she will often go over the top to show her affections. In the case of Mytrax (the aforementioned fiancée), she enjoys writing purposely terribly and pun filled poems, presenting flowers, and anything that is over the top. She does have enough consideration to not make such displays too public or draw the public eye unnecessarily but the desire to use boisterous actions to tell someone she likes them is too ingrained for her to deny. Ironically, in the event she falls in love, she turns incredibly shy and vulnerable. (It's downright baffling to those who know her.)

Positive: Exuberant - Lux's outward personality is often all too-happy loudness. While many might consider it a bad trait, it suits the chimera in public to exude such boisterous confidence. It acts as both a defense mechanism and allows her to easily be overlooked. After all, who expects a smiling ray of sunshine to go for the jugular. Flirty - A self-proclaimed nerd, this chimera enjoys the game of flirtation. It, in her opinion, offers her a wonderful way to suss out a person's character. In many cases, it helps diffuses tension and at the very least results in laughter when she breaks out the cheesiest of pick-up lines. A great asset in building rapport, she often comes off as a truly friendly soul. Vicious - While some would argue that her competitive, cutthroat streak is damaging, she knows better. It is that very nature that allows her to excel at her classes and allows her to fulfill a role of protection. No one dares mess with those she values once they've seen her (metaphorical) teeth; besides, a lawyer needs to be a master of offense and defense if they're going to serve their client best.
Negative: Excessive - Lux has a penchant for going overboard, whether it be in an effort to make sure someone knows she likes them as a friend or exceeding what is asked of her in class. As much as it is her competiveness peeking through, it also speaks of a vein of insecurity. After all Chimera value ambition and she has a fierce need to prove, not only herself, but that her care for others is genuine. Shameless - While she does have masks she wears depending on her company and surroundings, the chimera is shockingly uncaring about dignity. She has no qualms about reciting her terrible (and she knows it is terrible) poetry aloud or presenting her close friends with bouquets in the middle of a class. If she deems it important, the setting does not matter. (Just ask Mytrax; the poor flustered darling.) Vulnerable - For all her bravado and confidence, she is at her core struggling always to prove herself. This is often hidden, though it becomes apparent whenever she realizes romantic feelings for others. The fears of not being ambitious enough or strong enough or good enough to be chosen as a wife or mate are quite heavy in her heart.

Spare Post i think she's gonna be a terrible poet and she knows it but she plays it up because "mytrax, let me read you this poem i wrote to show you how much i like you, k?" and then it's just purposely puns and terribly awful.
okay, fiance(e) is just going to be all about bring flowers and reading poems and ridiculous (but not like super public -- no "HEY EVERYONE LOOk AT ME WHILE I WOO MY GIRL") and ravid will be super obvious by more lowkey "oh i bought you a bracelet but it's just, yeah"
and fiancee will try to be sublte for mytrax's sake but just fail because "i just LIKE you so much!?"
Law because this cute little nerdy "writes pun/terrible poems and delivers flowers and is just so affectionate towards Mytrax" cutie who steps into a classroom or courtroom and just goes completely "smilesmile so harmless" in appearance but then proceeds to go all shark after a dead whale. me: what would mytrax feel if she saw ravid go into berserker mode (ie: say if someone insulted lux and he went on the defensive before she could)
huni: secretly turned on outwardly concerned of course mostly for Ravid in the "oh no what will other people say/do/react?!" and try to go into damage control mode
me: ok good. i had a thought to at least complicate all of their feelings.
huni: I think maybe Mytrax's past interaction with Lux is why she's so "awkward" about OTT expressions of feelings because she sort of knows/understands that it's a show and is meant to be a show that it's just as much for the audience (bystanders) as it is for the intended which ties into the whole 3-faces of chimeras
me: /nod i was thinking after ravid & mytrax have known each other a bit and ravid & lux have met (but still in 'cool collected sizing each other up' territory), that maybe the three are together when someone insults lux. ravid starts to go into diplomat mode but sees a flash of hurt and insecurity in lux's eyes and goes into berserk mode.
huni: how would they be seated though? I get the feeling if Mytrax was in the middle, then she would at least try to restrain Ravid a bit
me: not sure on the particulars
huni: if you wanted Ravid to actually manage to fling himself at the perpetrator then Lux should be in the middle so Mytrax is forced to get up from her seat to pull Ravid back
me: just thought it'd set up the potential for a trio or mytrax/ravid or ravid/lux or lux/mytrax or whichever way we go.
huni: if they end up in a triad I am good with that 😉
me: and then mytrax will have to see lux in lawyer mode at some point to add to the "...s**t i thought i knew i was more into ravid but fuuuuuuuuu, god she's really hot right now" just basic thoughts atm; i thought it up at like 2am or so while i was trying to sleep so it's pretty loose

me: i think for Lux, he's kind of attracted to her outward face at first because he falls easily into "oh wow we're getting along so well maybe we could get married and have kids and be bffs" sometimes and i think she'd be the "okay, stop moping over flaws, time to party" force for mytrax, i think she's more of a grounding force on him. since she can take care of herself, it calms his berserk mode and he finds she helps him lead more towards his diplomacy
