[Reflection Solo - Grail of Greed]
A corridor of Shadows, its opening full of darkness. A corridor that led down, its entrance lit by Fire. Not liking anything to do with destruction, and having had quite enough of the darkness, Rhiannon walked forward to the Corridor of Knowledge, entranced by its promise of power.
She walked a long time before anything had happened. Maybe she took a wrong turn somewhere? She looked around for any sign of an exit, any place where she could have missed the path she was supposed to find in the half-dark, but there wasn't anything except to move forward or back.
"
Rhiannon...," a fading voice whispered. Soon, more voices joined the first, overlapping and echoing through the chamber like the sound of a mighty waterfall.
"What do you want?" She demanded, grabbing Rosalie's handle. "Who's there?!"
Then, just as suddenly as it had started, it stopped.
Ri moved to leave, her spine shivering with the eerie silence. And when there was once nothing but the corridor's inner glow, a golden chalice waited for her. Its' surface shimmered in the dark, beckoning her to take it. Surely something so glittery and glowing would be important to their cause?
She lifted the chalice by its jeweled stem, bringing it closer to inspect it, when the chalice's glow filled the room, changing the stone blocks to pure gold. She looked down at her boots to what had once been water, seeing a shimmery river of molten gold instead. The chalice's power was incredibly strong, for soon, even her clothes had changed, turning into fine silks and changing her armor until it shined with jewels. She couldn't see it, but she could feel the glittering crown form upon her brow, finalizing the transformation.
She was
rich. She could do anything she wanted, buy anything she wanted... Ri imagined taking Camelot for herself, challenging even the Great King.
She laughed loud, the greedy madness consuming her, changing her yet again. She could feel her teeth growing into monstrous fangs, her fingers curving into sharp, black claws; gnarled, black horns grew from her forehead, and her back burned as large, leathery wings formed between her shoulders, while a long, spaded tail appeared from beneath her skirt, curling around her legs. The darkness swirled around her, consuming everything that she was until it had turned her into a shadowling... until there was nothing left...
'NO!'The inner voice snapped her from her trance.
She looked to the wall before her, her black shadow twisted into a terrible dragon, its eyes glowing with golden greed. She fought against the chalice's influence, the gold melting from the walls and the shadow retreating from her body, changing her back to normal. Ri dropped the cup in horror, its surface shattering into a burst of smoke-like shadow.
Terrified, she ran as fast as her legs could carry her, right to the sound of Lancelot and the other knights.
