Ri smoothed her fingers over the scabs on her arms. The slices she took from the dwarves' axes have been healing quite well, having been reduced to mere scratches over the course of the last few days. The points of contact where the arrows managed to break through what little armor that she had were also healing, but them being the most recent, the small red spots covered her body like those on a rare cheetah's pelt.
Bit by bit she replaced her armor with what she had collected, forming the beginnings of a nice suit of armor. So, with bags full, a rested body, and the reassuring knowledge that Goddess would return to the kingdom on her own, she set out for the next mountain.

Once again, they traversed through the perilously narrow path out of Camelot and through the great cliffs that awaited. Yet again, they climbed up the steep and rocky hills and walked through areas that barely fit a Knight-in-Training, much less a full-size horse. Ri briefly wondered how anyone would think coming this way would be a great idea in the first place.
Goddess didn't seem to mind the long trip, happily tossing her mane and following Rhiannon's every command to help keep them both safe. What did manage to make the horse nervous were thick shrubs and dead trees. Whenever they passed one such log, the horse stopped in place, prancing behind the offending object until Ri pulled at her reins and calmly guided her around it. It shouldn't come as any surprise then, that they ran into yet another beehive. This one being right on the outskirts of the forest.
As soon as the buzzing began, the girl was guiding her horse up the path to the forest. And once the sound reached the horse's ears, she reared up and fled, back toward the way they had come. Unfortunately for the girl, the bees decided to attack her instead.
Glittering light. That's all the knight could see from underwater. It was peaceful, calming even, to just float along in the small stream, not giving any thought to the invading darkness, or horsemen, or even that she was alone without a horse and her supplies yet again. For a small, brief moment, she considered running, making a life for herself in the confusing tangle that was home to the dark elves. Maybe she could become one of them, learn their ways, lead a happy life, somehow change herself so that she couldn't even be called human anymore...
But she couldn't give up. Not now, when the kingdom needed her to protect.
She broke the surface of the stream, gasping for air while listening for the distinct buzzing of the stinging terrors. After realizing they were gone, she lifted herself out of the water, laying out all her things to dry, and took the time to stop and rest. Ri took a piece of soggy bread and was about to eat, when a rather large spider crawled out of the bushes. She jumped in surprise, but felt too sore and wet to run away now...
The jumpy knight raised her sword as she made her way through the mountains, though it was hard to focus when she'd been stung by the bees (which itched like crazy), and felt every scrape of her clothes against her old injuries (which stung sometimes, but also itched like crazy). Thankfully, the dwarf in charge of the traps was either busy or successful, because the only thing she had encountered was a nice crate of supplies, its outside still tied with rope like the nicest present she had ever seen. Thankfully, she brought her pack with her.
The sore knight almost expected for a wizard to be waiting for her. She climbed the last stretch of accessible path up to the mountain summit, while snow gently fell from a cloud-filled sky, dusting the mountain with white. The cold seeped into her wounds and sore muscles, helping to soothe her pain. Ri grabbed the latest item without too much trouble, even with digging in snow. She admired her prize with pride: an intricate helmet, decorated with the image of a willow tree. Then she turned away and started the journey home.
"I CAN DO THIS!" She yelled while throwing up her fist with victory. Sadly, she didn't think about her current surroundings, because her voice reverberated off the mountains, causing the snow on it's cliffs to slide, and completely bury the young knight head to toe in powder.
