Rhiannon was fully aware of how dangerous it was to go on yet another quest for magical item (or the king, whichever came first), but that definitely wasn't going to stop her from doing her duty and prove herself as a worthy knight. If one pair of panties was going to help save the kingdom from the horsemen and the darkness, then she was going to hunt for all the panties she could find! Ri rode on Goddess with a newfound sense of happiness and adventure. Her back had been tended to and even managed to heal a little from the axe incident, she didn't feel sick, the sun was shining, and there didn't seem to be an enemy in sight! Yes, life was looking up for the young knight apprentice, and there wasn't anything-- Except for the fact that she took the turn too fast. "WHOA! HALT! HAAALLT!!" Ri tugged on the reins with all her might, trying to lead Goddess away from the edge of the cliff. The horse skidded to a stop, her silver horseshoes creating sparks as they scraped along the gravel. "That was close...," she gasped breathlessly. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 24/24 YOUR HP: 30/30

Rattled from almost coming to an early demise, Ri stroked the mare's neck in an attempt to calm them both down. "Good girl." She patted Goddess. The horse bobbed her head in response, seeming to agree. "Well, I guess we should keep going..." It wasn't until she heard the signature crunch of an apple being eaten by a horse, that she looked down at her saddlebag. A saddlebag that hadn't been properly tied down. And one which had one held food. "Oh no...," she groaned. Ri looked around the ground to see if there was anything that could have dropped besides the apple, but the floor was bare, save for rocks. At least there was still some of her food left. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 18/24 YOUR HP: 30/30

Despite the near-death experience, the journey was going well so far. Goddess didn't seem to be hurt, but riding through the Forest of Dead Ends (as Rhiannon called it) was taking its toll on her. It wasn't until they came upon a pleasant-looking space between two large willow trees by a stream that Ri decided it would be a good idea to rest. She dismounted, made a quick check to see if there were any enemies lurking around, and deciding there were none, took off the saddlebags and bit from her horse. Ri kept busy, trying to stretch her legs out from a long ride. The knight-apprentice refilled her water, checked on Goddess, unpacked and repacked her supplies in a more efficient manner, took stock of her food... "Food." She sighed, remembering her loss. Her stomach growled at the thought. 'Well, it's not like I'm going to eat all of it,' she reasoned with herself. So, she took a chunk of bread, a little meat, and a slice of cheese to make a sandwich. Ri took the opportunity to lean against the trunk of a willow tree and enjoy the downtime, when she looked up to see the sun through the leaves... and saw a giant, ugly, hairy, spider. It looked at her with a multitude of unblinking eyes, while she blinked back for a millisecond. "AAAIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" She dropped the sandwich immediately, completely forgetting she was carrying a weapon, and running as fast as her slim legs could carry her. She didn't even know how it happened, but a second later she realized she was back on her horse again, fully loaded with her supplies and on their way again. Riding through the mountains was much easier than it had been on her last quest. She had her horse, she wasn't bruised or battered, and she could see the tallest mountain straight ahead. The skulls weren't even considered a problem! Goddess strode along the path as easy as if it were flat ground, trotting along at a healthy clip, when something snapped-- SWOOSHThe axes came down fast, but Ri was familiar with this one. She drew her claymore quickly, managing to fend off one of the axes as she kicked her horse to walk faster. But not fast enough, as the other axe swung through the air and sliced across her left arm while they ran. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 13/24 YOUR HP: 25/30

Better than she had been, but still worse for wear, Ri made it to the top of the mountain. There wasn't any sign of the king, but there was something that seemed worth it: a gauntlet with an eagle carved into it. She lifted it from the ground and placed it on her arm in order to keep it from getting lost. "Hey, you there!" Came the gravelly voice of an older man wearing colorful robes. He walked up to her with a swinging gait and a heavy-looking sack."You seem like a traveler a long way from home. And I, a wizard longing to retire. Well, since I don't need it anymore, why don't you have this?" He handed her a rather large bag full of various foods. "Why thank--," she began, but he was gone.
