Edward Anderson is a career officer originally from Greenfield, Johto. His parents were owners of a Tauros ranch, but Ed knew from a young age that he wanted to be an officer. He spent much of his career in Johto with his partner Growlithe, often playing "good cop" to his pokemon's "bad cop." He does this primarily by being mind-mannered and polite, and when that fails, using the words that Growlithe was always waiting for: "Sic 'em." When Growlithe succeeded in running down the criminal in question, Ed would wander over and ask them to reconsider surrendering.

Despite his laid back attitude, Ed is no pushover, and has been known to wade into brawls and pokemon battles himself if that is what it takes to get the job done. Ed doesn't start much, but he is firm about finishing whatever ruckus others insist on starting.

Ed has been around dog pokemon his entire life, and has developed the possibly unfortunate habit of thinking of things in dog terms. The habit started out as a joke with a friend of his on the force, and over time, just became habit even after the friend married a nice girl and moved back to her hometown. This habit alternately amuses, annoys, and enrages those around him. He often plays this up around people it annoys, especially criminals, finding their impotent rage secretly hilarious.

Ed is no longer a young man, though he is no where near ready to retire, and his blond hair is going grey. Because of the original blond color, it is difficult to see how much is grey and how much is blond. Having been an officer for so long, he tends to wear his uniform even when off duty out of habit. When his original partner Growlithe retired from old age, Ed left the loyal dog with his parents to live out his days chasing Tauros and moved to Katarina, Zatao.

Since coming to Katarina, things have been lively. He's already helped foil a Museum Heist, been hired on for a very lively stint guarding a Mansion, confronted a trainer sleeping in an alley and battled an Arcanine himself as a result, and confiscated an Archen from a thief.

Ed acquires Zaire (Part of the Stop Thief! RP)

Ed wandered into the station, Archen clamped firmly under his arm. “Hey Eddy! Y’know, they make pokeballs for that!” one of the other officers razzed him.

“Aw, shut it Bobby!” Ed tossed back. “Confiscated him from a thief. Jerk ran and left both his pokemon to take the heat. The vulpix got away, but this little guy was just a hair too slow. I figure we can rehome him, give him a better chance in life.”

“Sure, take him in back, we’ll get the old ball’s registration voided. Hey, speaking of rehoming, we got a pup for you if you’re interested,” Robert said. “She’s a beaut, we got her from a puppy mill that got closed down for a string of violations as long as your arm. We kept the pups long enough to get them all some basic obedience training, and she was so clever we gave her the full K9 package. Most of the pups have gone to civilians, but I think this girl will do great with you.”

“Huh. What species?” Ed asked.

“Zorua. Come on, let’s get that other one locked up then we can take a look at the pup.”

Ed followed Rob to the back, and carefully stuffed the Archen into one of the metal kennels that lined the walls. He took a moment to add water and food to the dishes wired to the door, then followed Rob out back. Stopping at one of the large kennels, Rob called “Zorua, come here girl!”

Ed’s jaw dropped as the Zorua came out of the doghouse in back. “That is one gorgeous b****,” Ed said in a softly admiring tone. He knelt down, and held a hand to the chain link. “Hey girl. You wanna be my girl? You wanna help me catch bad guys?” The Zorua sniffed his hand politely while he talked to her. When he said ‘bad guys,’ she perked up, barking and wagging her tail. “Good girl!” Ed praised. “Sit!” She promptly sat and looked at him alertly. “Speak!” She barked sharply. “Down!” Zorua laid down. Ed grinned. “Sic ‘em!” She bounded to her feet and set up a horrible racket, barking like she was about to rip someone’s arm off. “Hold!” Zorua stopped immediately. Grinning, Ed turned to Robert. “I’ll take her!”

RPs that aren't battles or progress towards becoming a senior officer:
Stop Thief! with Bluedemonwolf. A fun RP where Ed came across some nefarious dealings in a warehouse, confiscated an Archen, and acquired Zaire. Not counting it as an RP towards being a senior officer because I didn't really manage to stop a definite crime, and didn't make an arrest.
Evil Zoruas on the force?! A quick RP with Bluedemonwolf for breeding purposes.
Zelda and Cooper First Meeting Quick RP with Tristam Lockhart for breeding purposes.
Zelda and Cooper Meet Again Quick RP with Tristam Lockhart for breeding purposes.
Oh, where am I now?! (In which Seru meets Ed and friends.) Officer Ed helps the blind Seru find her lost Growlithe.
Puppies at the Train Station Officer Ed helps a lost young woman, and eventually sends his pup, Odin, off with the trainer.

Solo RPs

Link and Zelda
Zelda walked over to the newest addition to their little pack. “So, what’s your story, anyway? You’ve been pretty quiet since you joined the pack,” she said to the Poochyena.

Link flicked an ear in a canine shrug. “I just haven’t had much to say,” he said softly.

Zelda huffed. “Fine, let me show you how it’s done. I’m Zelda, nice to meet you. I’m from the main Katarina police kennel. I did well in training, but ended up going unchosen for a long time because some of the humans thought my coat looked funny. I might have developed a habit of slipping out of the yard and taking walks around town when I got bored. Eventually Ed chose me, and I joined his pack,” she rattled off. “I like runs in the park and soft sleeping spots. Now you try. Tell me where you came from, a little backstory, maybe where you got those extras you wear? Come on,” Zelda pushed.

Link sighed. He could tell Zelda wasn’t going to drop this. “I’m Link. I’m from the police kennel on the south end of the city. I fostered out to a training family as a puppy. One of the humans from that pack gave me my ear decorations. One night, I was grabbed from my yard by thieves. I didn’t like them, so I barked at them and anyone they brought over whenever I saw them. They had trouble finding a buyer for me since I kept acting up, so one of them got frustrated and ending up chaining me out near the front gate to act as a lookout. I made as much noise as I could, as often as I could. The thieves got lazy, used to me barking at anything that moved. When officers came one night, I stayed quiet, and the thieves were caught by surprise. The all ended up arrested, and Ed cut the chain on my cuff and took me with him. I decided I wanted to keep the cuff, and didn’t let any of the humans take it. I like good food and taking down bad humans. And...I don't think your coat looks funny,” Link said, the last barely audible.

“Zelda! Link! Time to go!” Ed called. Link immediately headed over to their human. Zelda dallied a little, watching Link walk away, the rattle of the few links of chain punctuating his steps. He might not be too great at conversation, or talking in general, but there was something about him. Putting her thoughts and the odd fluttery feeling that had come out of nowhere aside, she got up and headed over to their human.

“Psst! Hey Link!” Zelda hissed.

Link blinked awake. It was the middle of the night. Why was Zelda standing outside his kennel? “Zelda? What is it?” he asked, mildly concerned.

Zelda’s tail started wagging. “Come on, it’s full moon tonight! Let’s go to the park!”

“Whatever you two are up to, leave me out of it,” Zaire muttered sleepily from the next kennel, tucking her tail over her face.

Link fidgeted. “We’re in for the night, though,” he said, though his voice wasn’t very certain.

“So? Come on!” Zelda said, darting forward to lick his cheek. Link suddenly got it.

“Oh. Oh. Ah, um, I mean, okay?” Link managed, realizing suddenly that Zelda hadn’t been just being friendly this past week.

“Took you long enough. Keep the puppies out of my kennel,” Zaire commented without moving.

“What?! No, I mean, I don’t, we aren’t, there aren’t, wha-” Link spluttered.

Zelda laughed. “Sure thing, Zaire. Come on, shy guy, we’re going to the park,” Zelda said, and lead the way out of the kennel, out the gate, and down the street.

Link followed, noticing how fluffy Zelda’s tail was, how the moonlight caught it, how smooth her stride was. Before he knew it, they were at the park.

Zelda dug her paws into the grass, feeling the soft, cool blades beneath her paws. Then she licked Link’s cheek and took off running. “Come on, catch me if you can, slowpoke!” Zelda called gleefully, tearing across the grass.

After being startled a moment, Link gave chase. He wasn’t sure exactly how this had happened but the moon was bright, the night was cool, and Zelda’s laughter was beautiful. She’d taken the time to chase him, even when he hadn’t been aware he was running. He supposed it was only right that he take his turn chasing her. He certainly wouldn’t mind catching her.

“Where did that blanket go?” Ed muttered as he searched the linen closet. He could have sworn it was in the blanket chest, but he’d already searched there, and no luck. Taking a closer look at the linen closet, he paused. He knew he had more spare pillows than that, and there was nowhere else he would have put them. Several sweatshirts were missing from his closet as well, and he was starting to suspect that he wasn’t misplacing things. Ed headed for the kennels.

While the dogs usually had the run of the house, he did have a designated kennel area for them, much like he had his own bedroom. Link’s kennel was empty, but there was a berry sitting in his food dish. Ed paused. Link had eaten all his breakfast that morning. Zelda had been the picky one, not eating all of hers, and not letting him take the leftovers either. She had raided the kitchen later, so it wasn’t that she wasn’t hungry. Ed shrugged and continued.

Coming to Zelda’s kennel, Ed didn’t find the Growlithe, but he did find Link. He also found his missing things. A small pile of soft things sat off to the side of Zelda’s kennel. Link was dragging and arranging various items in her sleeping area, to all appearances making some sort of nest.

“Ahem.” Ed cleared his throat loudly. Link froze. His tail slowly tucked down. Big blue eyes peeked over his shoulder as he turned just his head to look at Ed. His ears drooped. Ed tried to be stern, but ended up just shaking his head and sighing. “No more clothes,” he said, snagging one of the sweatshirts that had been stolen. Link perked up and his tail began wagging happily. Ed laughed ruefully. “Good luck, boy.”

Headed back to the main part of the house, he spotted Zelda. She looked at him, then padded by to drop another berry in Link’s dish. Ed just shook his head and walked on. He had a feeling he’d be hearing the patter (and scrabble, yelp, crash) of puppy feet at some point in the relatively near future.
