 Welcome to The Otter Oasis hiring thread. Come on in, grab a complimentary latte and make yourself at home. :3
Who are we?
Currently, 'we' is just Lumi. I am the owner, colorist, editor, RP manager, thing-thinker-upper, key grip, best boy and wig master. I've been the owner and sole artist (with a couple of guest exceptions) since April of 2007. I purchased the shop with Tatsudoshi (hey tatsu! <3) from Chickies and her team of colorists, who'd been running it for about a year before that.
And what are we doing here?
Well, I'm looking for a few good colorists to help take some of the load off of my shoulders and, hopefully, to help grow the shop. I'm also on the lookout for willing, creative types who might be interested in leading some RP activities in the shop.

How this will work
Hiring will remain open at least through February 1. If I don't feel there are sufficient candidates by that date, I may extend the application period slightly. I won't end it prematurely, however.
How to Apply
Read over the job description(s).
For the colorist position, you'll need to use the art below to make at least 2 samples of your coloring.
For the RP manager position, you'll need to provide some examples of your RP style.
Fill in the appropriate form and post it in this thread.

Job Descriptions
Colorist (full time) - 2 positions (tentatively)
Must:
Be able to color. Duh.
Have Photoshop. All of the files for the shop are .psd
Contribute pets to or run a flatsale every other month.
Open custom slots at least every three months.
Participate in and/or contribute pets to shop events.
Manage certing and uploading your pets, as well as updating the owner's list.
Be reachable by instant messenger. (MSN or AIM)
Complete growings in a timely manner. I prefer all stages of a pet are colored before a flatsale is held.
The ideal candidate will do the above AND:
Be able to take on breedings.
Be present (and friendly XD) in the shop.
RP Manager (full time) - 1 position (tentatively)
Must:
Have a literate and engaging RP style.
Be willing to generate ideas for shop RP.
Be willing to help other shop patrons with RP-related questions.
Contribute ideas to and participate in shop events.
Be reachable by instant messenger. (MSN or AIM)
Pay and Perks
Colorists
You keep all of the income from flatsales, breedings and customs.
You keep 90% of the income from bribes, raffles and auctions.
RP Manager
You get a cut of the income from events.
You're entitled to NPC characters needed for shop RP (to be created as time permits).
For both
You earn points based on the amount of work you do to be used toward free custom and breeding slots for yourself (or other perks that we agree upon). I haven't 100% worked this system out yet, but we'll come up with something equitable. Basically, I want you to have access to pets for yourself without it upsetting the balance of the workload on the reserve. :3

Availability: Probably 3-4 hours a day. Almost every day of the week.
Other commitments: Currently Owner/Artist of Nimbi
Prior experience: Worked at Winiko as a colorist/editor for a bit. Previously owned/coowned Wandering Moons, and Darkend Illusions. There are others, but then again I've been around the b/c for a long time.

Now I realize you didn't ask for us to do any editing examples... but I just couldn't help doing one and showing you hope you like him...
General samples: I wanted to show you the uncerted version of this one so you can see all the details., Ifrit Nimbi, Shiva Nimbi, Morgana Nimbi, Izanami Winiko, Northridge Winiko. Any other examples you can look through Nimbi Ownerlist

Other: Love, love, love this shop, as you're very well aware of. I value myself as fairly quick when it comes to producing work. And always willing to give a helping hand.Also I know that this isn't a requirement but just thought it might be some interesting info you might be curious to know...

Watery Tribal Female - about 3 hours
Starry Tribal Male - about 3 hours
They're my more complex pieces shown... so I thought you might be curious about the time frames they took to be completed.

Availability: Three to four hours a day (give or take) depending on the time of year c:
Other commitments: I'm a manager at Dreyrull, a part time colorist, judge, and moderator at Souls Manifest, and Scaramouche Fandango and I will soon be taking over at A Tale of Redwall as soon as we get all our ducks in a row and we get most of the lines from the original owner. <3
Prior experience: I've dabbled at The Roost and was the roleplay manager and guild manager at Tales of Watership Down, when both were active.
Otter samples: I might be doing several of these and adding more, because the lines are crazy fun to play with c: I tried some simple edits on the albino female <3

Breeding?: Most definitely! If hired, though, I'd probably limit them to non-edits or simple until I am confident in my ability to manipulate the lines and to imitate your shading style.

Availability: Quite a bit; almost always a few hours each day. Even when I am sparsely posting, I am usually lurking about.
Other commitments: None, officially. I have helped with updating/keeping track of records at times--but it's usually more or less being helpful.
Prior experience: None.

General samples: 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 (01-05 are short stories; 06-10 are role-plays though the first is a solo and 09 is on LJ [I'm the one using Karl Urban icons], I would have added more but most are rather old--shopdeathissad)
