The mountain air blew through Megapi's wolf pelt, whispering of some event long forgotten. He wasn't sure, now, whether or not it had been a good idea to traipse into the mountains, but something compelled him here, some whisper of something that had to happen. That worried the Skilona; such an unusual occurrence that it put an edge on him, made his mind skitter back and forth from thought to thought.
His...protege wasn't so bad, was she? She may not be a skinwalker, but she had the same killer instinct, the same desire to do harm to anything and everything. And surely that was not entirely bad, was it? It was...satisfying to know that there were other Soquili willing to clean out the world, willing to be what other, less vicious horses would call "evil." I wonder how many others with minds like mine there are in the world? And I wonder if it might be time, just once more, to spread more like-minded horses? Because there's only one way I can guarantee it, even if I don't like that method.
Megapi looked up into the sky. How long had it been since he had flown for pleasure rather than to hunt? Too long. With a snarl, he raced off across the ground, flapping his wings until, with a leap, he was airborne, his subconscious searching the ground below and the air around for something...he did not know what. Someone else--I'm hungry, and it's not for food, for once.

Down below on the trails across the mountains, Megapi could see another horse. Dimly, he registered that it looked like him--large, webbed wings and a long, serpent-like tail--but the important thing was the scent he pulled through his sensitive nostrils. A mare. And some delighted part of him picked up a few trace scents that hinted at this not being any ordinary, run-of-the-mill milksop. He knew dimly that he should make contact with this mare. And if he was wrong, and she was just like the rest of the little rabbits running around this world, well...she would probably last him a day or two. She was certainly big enough.
Folding his wings against his side and drawing his legs up as far as they would fold, he thrust his neck out and dove down towards her, throwing his wings out at the last minute and turning on one wing until he ended up facing her on the path in front of her. However this fierce-looking stranger reacted, he was ready for it--though her appearance did give him something to wonder at. Especially the fangs. Fierce-looking, sure, but what was their point in combat or in hunting?

Oooooooooh. So that's what a kalona is. I guess it's a big deal. "Good and evil aren't real," Megapi replied automatically. "What is called good is only good in comparison to what is called evil. In reality, there is nothing to distinguish them. If there was no evil, there would be no good. Only shadows and stupidity can be defined as a lack of something else."
Megapi's eyes watched Fyglia. A dark thought was forming in his mind--or, more to the point, was growing stronger in his mind. If he wanted to spread death and chaos through...ugh...reproduction, he would require an "evil" mare. Not like the female who took advantage of him, who left his...yurgh...offspring in the care of a bunch of milksops. He would need someone...vicious. It seemed that Fyglia would fit the bill. "An evil line cannot exist, as there is no evil," he added. "But a vicious line, now, that is one that is hard to obtain, but a point of pride." He pulled his wings in close and reminded himself not to leer. "Don't you agree?"
