Midnight Snack stood beside the entrance to his den, a well sized hole that he'd found and decided to dig out. It was a bit hard to see amongst vegetation though it provided sufficient bait for luring rabbits. All in all, it seemed a rather good spot.
He turned to look at Toothless, again pointing a paw to the den entrance. "Home, now. Go down." His eyes lingered on the larger otter and he flattened his ears in thought. He hoped he was going to fit. It wouldn't be fun to have to find and dig out another den, not when this one worked so well.

Toothless stopped in his mimic slinking before Snack turned to inform him this was the home. He had never been inside a hole like that before. Caves were supposed to be of rocks right? He leaned forward to sniff the edges of the entrance. The fins on his sides and tail folded tight against his body, as did his wings. It looked small, but possibly it wouldn't be too hard to get into. Dirt was easier than rock to alter in any case...
"Mmmm..." He hummed than looked back at Snack.

With a nod, he rested down on his belly before the entrance to the den and shuffled forward. His claws poked into the clay dirt as his tail flicked about before he disappeared down into his home. It was big enough to stand up in, even on his hind legs, and there was enough room to house his whole family he was sure.
He turned and sat to wait for his friend. "Toofless?" he called up to let him know it was safe to come down.

Toothless took a deep breath as he tried to pull his wings closer to his body than inch forward. The entry was a little tight and he was sure he made it slightly larger at least. "Errr..." He huffed as he pulled himself into the main part of the den. Tight, but at least it was larger.
He let out a coo as his eyes wondered from wall to wall of the den. His tail twitched with excitement! So this was what it was like -under- the ground! Toothless' golden eyes brightened at the thought. He could now claim to have been on all three levels of the world!

Once the demonic entered the den, Snack let out a breath. He was glad his friend had ended up fitting after all. He'd have to dig out the back entrance more, it was tight enough fit for him, if Toothless would be going out that way.
The feral's eyes glowed in the dark and he tilted his head as his stomach rumbled in hunger. "Toofless hungry?" he asked, deciding the other otter might be hungry too. It was always a good time for a snack, midnight or otherwise.

Like a chain reaction it wasn't but seconds after Snack's belly rumbled that Toothless' own demanded food loudly. He looked down at his belly than to Snack.
"mmm, numnum..." He hummed than smacked his lips.
Usually feeding time meant fishing time, and playing in the water. Perhaps this one had the same 'ritual' when it came to meals? It didn't look as though he liked to play in the water...
In any case the thought of fish made his tail sway just a little bit.

He chuckled at the sound of Toothless's stomach wanting food, pondering just what it was he felt like eating. He wasn't picky when it came to food, as long as he got some meat and to play with it. Only most hunting was hard to do in pairs, rabbits especially were easiest to catch alone. Which left fish.
"Fish this way," he started towards the back entrance, which came out in the stream leading to one of the rivers in the Oasis. At least until he remember it was small and Toothless wouldn't fit. He made a quick turn and headed back to the main entrance, pretending as though he had just wanted to give his legs and body a stretch.

Toothless watched as his new friend vanished through the tiny hole. FISH!! But... He sat down on his haunches in contemplation of how he was going to accomplish the same thing. Would it be wrong to simply make the hole bigger?
Before he could act on the thought he could hear Sack on the opposite side.
Toothless rolled his head back so he could look at the entrance. His body soon followed. AT least he wouldn't have to worry about altering the den and getting his friend mad.
"Merrr!" He called to snack than proceeded out of the tunnel as he had entered it.

Snack waited for his friend to come above. There were lots of schools of fish in the water nearby, they would easily be able to get something to eat and splash about in the river. It might even be easier to catch them with his new friend's help.
He trotted towards the river, still in plain sight from the entrance, flickering his tail about in excitement. A trail of fur spiked up along his spine and his yellow glowing eyes seemed to brighten. There was just something about the prospect of ripping and tearing that made him feel like a reckless pup.
"Fish fish fish!" he called out to Toothless, his voice growling in glee.

Once free of the tight hole Toothless bound after Snack enthusiastically. His wings stretched wide. It felt good to give them some room after that rammed area.
The prosthetic fin on his tail flapped about as his tail begun to flail about wildly behind him. He had never been fishing with another otter before! And fish themselves were exciting. They tasted good, were very shiny, and smooth.
"Merererer!" He called in response to Snack's chant.

He made his way to the river, sliding into the water with a quick look to make sure Toothless was still with him. Then he thwapped his tail to make a splash before diving in. He swam in long spiraling motions, adrenaline coursing through his veins, until he sensed nearby fish and began to pursue them.
His jaw clenched tight, he make a chuffing sound so that he and his friend wouldn't be separated.

Toothless watched his friend carefully as he entered the water. He had always done it so differently! With a nod he tried to mimic every move he saw before entering the water. Now it was time for the fun!
Toothless followed the sound, but kept at a distance from Snack's hunting area. It was just something he was used to, hunting alone. He did, mimic the noise Snack was making so he too knew where the dragonic otter was at all times.

Snack corralled the fish, confusing them with his fast movements until he snatched a large one in his jaws. He let out a chirp in his throat to make Toothless aware of his position before swimming upward to peek out of the water. Once he made sure it was clear, he flopped onto his back and began playing with his meal, tail swishing over the water in glee.

Toothless took a little more to capture his own lunch. He found pleasure in chasing them a little bit longer. Though he was very hungry, a little game before food wasn't so bad.
Finally he made his move using his wings and tail to propel himself faster through the water.
Once he had his fish he returned to the surface to join Snack... though it did confuse him how Snack was eating on his back. He was used to dragging the fish out of the water. No one had told him about this way!
After a moment of study he rolled to his back and did his best to mimic Snack's way of eating.

He hadn't considered that Toothless had never eaten while floating on his back, it was such a relaxing method--not that chasing and playing wasn't fun, it was often the way he enjoyed his meals, but it had been a unique day. So he was feeling just a little burnt out when it came to the idea of doing more than necessary. He could be an awfully lazy thing when it came down to it.
He leisurely ate his fish, contemplating a nap but wasn't sure if Toothless was at all tired. He instead waited to see what the other otter would do.
