Chat Head: History: Personality: Mimi enjoys pantomiming the various members of the herd. She's something of a mimic, repeating things she sees and hears to perfection, capturing the tone and mannerisms of who she is impersonating. She's even able to change her voice to mimic the voice of many members of the herd- which she uses for her own amusement and mischief. She isn't mean or cruel, she just enjoys laughing and lighthearted pranks. She doesn't see anything wrong with her behavior, and doesn't take anything seriously. She's flighty and somewhat hard to pin down. She is seen as a sign of favor from the Gods, which increases as she gets older. She is a bit uncomfortable with the pressure, which is likely the cause of her mimicry. As she grows she feels compelled to become an Oracle, since it seemed the expectation for her life. She takes her duties very seriously and constantly worries she isn't living up to her expectations. She spends a lot of time in prayer as an adult, though she slips back into her mimicry sometimes when she feels particularly nervous/stressed/pressured. (And occasionally just for fun) Plots: Foal: 1 - Mimidae mimics someone and gets caught - perhaps she is caught mimicking a ceremony or ritual she should NOT be performing by herself. This could be interpreted as her being advanced for her age, further putting pressure on her to be some sort of prodigy. 2 - Mimi is blamed for a rash of mini nightmares that happen upon the herd, causing mischief. The herd sees this as a necessary test, and Mimi merely the conduit for the gods. 3 - .Mimi decides to push her limits as far as what the herd will let her get away with. The specifics can be hashed out! 4 - While Mimi is seen as a gift from the gods, her siblings are seen as something else entirely. This doesn't sit well with Mimi, and she tries to stick by them, believing them to be just as favored as herself. Part of this is to shift the pressure she feels on herself.
Adult: 1 - I want some stroke of luck, something happening that causes the idea that she is somehow extra favored to come true. Something happens with Mimi at the center that looks like a blessing from the gods. Some crisis finds an answer, perhaps a particularly fruitful season of foals.... this is definitely up for discussion. This will more than solidify the general belief she is favored. It's also the main reason she feels pressured into becoming an Oracle. 2 - She never feels she's done enough in her capacity as oracle. When prayers are answered she still feels that she did not do much to make it happen, and when prayers aren't answered she blames herself. This is a burden she bears alone, keeping it all inside. Outwardly she's the same goofy, happy girl that popped out of her basket. 3 - A skeptic comes and is charismatic and convincing enough to begin to shake Mimi's faith. He/She tries t convince her to leave, to experience the world and realize it isn't a dream land. She battles with the temptation, wavering in her faith. She spends a long time praying, meditating, and asking advice from other, older members of the herd. Perhaps she has dreams or visions that help guide her. Eventually she comes to terms with things, coming to the other side of the trial feeling secure in her place for the first time. 4 - She steps up fully, finding her confidence in the herds' ways of life. She eventually becomes an authority figure in the herd, to an extent.
Who do the herd Wordship? - The DreamWalkers worship the Oneiroi, Sons of the Goddess Nyx. In particular Morpheus the winged God of Dreams, Phobetor the God of Nightmares and Phantasus the God of Illusion. How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - They don't really exist until prayed into being. They are dreams and nothing more. Fraternizing with a dream before it being prayed into reality is sort of taboo and not really talked about. What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They return to the dreamworld. Should they return anything that happened to them outside of the herd was just a dream, or test from the Gods, and not reality. How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Depends on their demeanor. If they are angry/hurtful about it they are seen as a test from the Gods. If they are calm/reasonable they are seen as simple folk who can't understand simple concepts.

Chat Head: History: Personality: Angelsite is fascinated by genetics and bloodlines. He doesn't share the omnivore traits his brothers have, and he finds this fascinating. He's particularly fascinated by the "darkness" that apparently curses his biological mother's side. He feels he is somewhat afflicted by this darkness, not in any evil sort of way, but he has a hard time feeling the sort of happiness and joy his adoptive mother feels. He is introspective and retreats into himself often, feeling disconnected from the world. He has a hard time truly connecting with others, though he desperately desires exactly that. He sometimes worries that perhaps he is broken, that maybe something is wrong with him.
He is a gentle soul, and while he isn't the most talkative fellow he is generally kind and willing to help anyone who needs it. He can't walk past someone struggling with something without stopping to help. He doesn't think about it or even think himself particularly generous, though others might disagree. Sometimes he is sarcastic when someone gets him to be more talkative, though never in a cruel or unkind way. He's highly intelligent and uses humor to express his disassociation with life and those around him. He's a guarded individual, never wanting anyone to see his inner emotions - or lack thereof. Angelsite had spent weeks preparing for this journey. He had devoured any snippet of information regarding this side of his family he could get his hooves on, memorized every story brought to the herd from outsiders. He still felt woefully under-informed, but was abuzz with excitement nonetheless. Not that he showed that excitement on the outside, no. He was far too guarded for that. Still, he felt the thrill of the unknown coursing through him like electricity.
He didn't particularly care about the familial aspect of it all. He didn't wish to seek out any sort of relationship with these relations; his adoptive mother and family were more than enough for him. He WAS, however, very interested in seeing what traits were passed on genetically and where his and his brothers' traits might have come from. He had a particular desire to examine and study those in the line that had been "cursed" to see what sorts of afflictions they had and to what degree they passed on through the generations. Yes, he was quite thrilled for the opportunity.
He glanced at his biological mother Sapphire as they made their preparations and felt a small twinge of doubt hovering beneath the surface. It struck him suddenly and profoundly that he did not know this mare, not truly and yet fully half of his genetics came form her. There was a sadness he did not realize he had drifting through him like a cold breeze, causing him to shudder slightly. He knew there should be something between them, some connection, yet she had played so little role in his life he saw her more of a subject to be studied than anything else. Was this trip an opportunity to change that? Did he want that?
No. He didn't consciously think the word but there it was rising to the forefront of his mind unbidden, a feeling more than a word. Nothing positive could come from trying to make Sapphire into anything more than she is - for either of them. He was firm in this knowledge and it steadied him. He turned from her to finish his preparations for the journey, his excitement tempered by doubts and nerves, but no less compelling than before. He would meet these biological family members, he would study them, and then he would come home to his real family.
At first, life seemed to be... Serene. Cuauhcoatl had found the love of his life, an Usida named Ikinya, and was helping a single father care for his children as he sought for one lost in the woods, and had returned with not only her, but their mother as well. They had an adoptive Usida son growing into a fine young man, and a young women he had met while she was still but a foal, came for family and sanctuary shortly after they rescued another young stallion from possible death.
And they had a dear friend, who had agreed to acting as a surrogate mother since he and his beloved could not bear children together... And had just given birth to three children, placed lovingly by their biological mother into the enchanted baskets that would keep them safe and fed as they to the state of development lesser 'horses' were born directly into, and their Usida mother waded into the middle of the three baskets, happily thanking their friend for the gift she had given them.
However, that was when things began to change.
While their biological mother was a good mare, and only had the best of intentions, she stole away in the night during a thunderstorm with one of the baskets, hiding it away so she could return for the others, fearing her children were to be reared believing the smaller soquili was their true mother, that the stallion she had hoped would realize it was madness to be with an Usida and would instead love her and be just friends with the other one rather then the other way around, truly was in love with Ikinya.
However, as she came for the other two, the father stood strong and protective of the other ones, pleading to know where the other was, and why she was doing this -- she wouldn't be left out of the family, she could still be with her children, they would know she was their biological mother, just as Ikinya was their adoptive mother. Kayla could be a part of their life, but they were just as much theirs as they were hers, so she could not take them away from them.
Upset, confused, and unsure of herself, knowing she wouldn't be able to get past the large angeni to 'rescue' any more of her own children, she lashed out verbally, spilling her feelings out -- That Cuauhcoatl was sick for wanting to raise her children with, not only an usida for a mother and brother, but around meat eaters such as the quarter kalona kaliska and the mutant Kalona mix of Darius "Chompy". That something was wrong, and that she'd die trying to keep the one child she had managed to save safe from his madness.
And then she fled into the darkness of the stormy night, where the stallion was grounded and would be unable to bring light to follow.

The aftermath shook the small, unnamed herd to the very root. They knew Kayla was a good mare, and a kind caring soul -- with everything combined about what their group was finally broke her resolve, it was more then possible that they were not a group allowed by regular society. And to make matters worse, Mecho returned without his son from a trading trip -- Harpy's had taken Cabriole as a pet. And they were not large enough in number to rescue him.
Feeling powerless, Cuauhcoatl stayed with the remaining two baskets, he shifted into his human form and began to carve a totem, putting his heart and soul into into it, and put some of his angeni light into it as a blessing that would hopefully steer evil away.
Exiting his longhouse, he planted the tall totem into the ground, and declared their herd to be Yectenehua, which in the Nahuatl language he felt most at home with, meant "to bless".
He then shifted back to his horse form to pray that all of those who moved as members of yectenehua would remained blessed even outside the gaze of their totem, and for those who were good could find a sanctuary to call home.
With this blessing, The first Sanctuary of Yectenehua was born.
Years later, however, the small, isolated territory requiring wide detours to avoid Flock territory, either over the mountains to the desert, around the mountains and through the northern plains, or south deep into the heart of skinwalker territory, they relocated permanently to Cuauhcoatl's south western home in the peninsula and began to build. From there, aquatic members began to join their herd, happy to be treated not as freaks or curiosities, but rather equal members of the group. And the environment was purposely manipulated and worked to reflect this.
A symbol of hope and of sanctuary for those outcast from their societies for being 'strange' in appearance for for their love, as well as a home for those seeking higher learning, Yectenehua has become a place of tolerance and acceptance, and the founders soon found more children to love and care for.
But the heartache that started this place of love lingered until one day, a young mare named sapphire, damaged and hurt mentally, emotionally, and physically by her captor, was given sanctuary and nursed back to health with love and compassion. As she slowly left the broken shell she had become and regained herself, making friends in the herd and given the compassion and protection needed to feel safe, she learned from others with curious poking about how they had lost a child to fear and intolerance, taken away from them from someone they had thought of as a friend rather than raised along side with them, losing both a friend and a child while having had a seed of doubt having been planted that they'd be accepted by others or would ever safely be able to try and surrogate, content in just adopting.
With her friend, Cadence Amachi, and full of love for this pair who did so much for others with no interest in anything in return, the two decided to offer their services as surrogates. It took a little while to convince the pair to accept their offers.
(Storywise, Cadence should be pregnant and getting closer toward giving birth at the time the baskets show up. However IRL... We sort of wanted to wait till we had these baskets before making the breeding agreement, so the breeding hasn't officially started yet.)
The Primary home of Yectenehua resides to the west of kawani territories, in a somewhat small peninsula guarded by the ocean and steep mountains, with only a narrow mountain pass to enter for those unable to fly high enough or climb part of the way. The land within is cut vertically with a single winding river, the river mouth dominating the tip of it.
In the middle, a small village has been formed over the years, with long houses and bath houses of sorts, food storage facilities... And, even a steam bath Swim canals set up for aquatic members to be able to join the landwalkers. Originally yectenehua formed to the northewest in the mountain valleys, and the small, single longhouse location is kept as an away station and location where flying individuals tend to be the main travelers there, since the main path toward it has since been occupied by The Flock. This location is relatively 'amphibious' and, at times, might be mistaken for a human village at a distance. However, upon closer inspection, its quite obvious it had been built by Cuauhcoatl in his human form and Handed familiars such as raccoon and squirrels with the assistance of other members. Each project is done by all members of the herd capable of assisting in some way, as well as any guests staying there for an education or to weather the winter. Some houses are built directly over ponds to allow aquatic members to warm up and stay in the village rather than migrating into the ocean for the winter or join in herd discussions.
Earthlodges have been dug out and built up to create food storage areas, and farms, gardens, and orchards continue to develop as the herd works together, some of them learning gardens for guests and youngsters to learn the basics of agriculture. Many members who stay help with the harvest and planting and tending.
There is a territory in the northwestern mountains as well, but it is only one longhouse, one steambath, and a small garden. It still has much of Cuauhcoatl's possessions from when he was alone, and it is often mostly used as a home base for flying lessons for members of the herd with the capability of flight, and as an isolated place of intensive learning and self run research.
Other Members of yectenehua include: Multiple other soquili families (including Mecho Amachi and Melody Forte and a good number of their kids), multiple singular soquili (Including Mers and Seathi), a large flock of Harpy Eagle Familiars that Xochicoatl, Cuauhcoatl's Bonded Familiar and Spirit-Sister, is leader of, as well as many other familiar members. All are treated as equals.
Ikinya is a bundle of qualities in one small package. Firstly, the heart of this mare speaks no bounds. She has a compassion for life, and everyone in it and isn't afraid to let it be known. Her love is strong, and heart large as can be for all of her family and her herd. This love evolves at time, and had allowed her to love a number of children they've adopted like they were her own, even the children of her herdmates often fall under her loving nature - Ikinya is happiest around others and spreading her ideal of kindness and affection. Yet the mare isn't all feely, Ikinya has an innate courage, stemmed from her core desire to protect her ideals. She steps up to any challenge presented to her, and despite her drawbacks at times thanks to her stature and lack of magic will give it her all till she succeeds. A gentle leader of her herd, the mare has the wisdom to know when to take charge and when to simply aid with a gentle nudge in the right direction she takes this role very seriously despite having her rock, Cuauhcoatl beside her to help if ever needed. However, Ikinya often is faced with conflict from her head and her heart; and can often hold a lot of her own needs and desires in and secretive for the good of others - a bit self sacrificing in a way. Often she breaks down privately, but all in all her happiness knows no bounds and she is only mortal - after all.
She is the Alpha of Yectenehua, leading with wisdom and grace along side her lovemate Cuauhcoatl. The pair were the first Fullsize x Mini couple, and have long since grown a legacy together. While she has no biological children of her own, they have been blessed continuously by the spirits via adoption, surrogacy, and the wishing star. She is the little mother, has been the primary caregiver to most of her children until they became of age, always having time for any of her 20 children.
Despite being the size of a large Clydesdale and being brightly colored, Cuauhcoatl is soft spoken and modest individual with a stutter that gets worse when nervous -- which tends to lead to him to stuttering when on certain subjects or meeting new people. He's an extremely gentle personality, and feels what is on the inside is what matters, not the outside.
Cuauhcoatl is an Angeni of Learning. Literally: He has command over the domain of "Learning". However, he has a relatively poor memory about a lot of things, and tends to have to hunt around for them in his head before he can remember them, often times having to relearn it several times before it finally sticking. Because of this, he does not believe in judging the sins of the parents on the heads off their children, and will judge most breeds (excluding skinwalkers), crossbreeds and mutants, no matter what their appearance, by their own behavior.

We see them as begrudging partners and occasional lovers who tolerate each other so long as food is plentiful and will occasionally cooperate if necessary. While not "affectionate" in any sense they will occasionally sleep near each other, as body warmth is pleasurable for even the most sadistic of creatures.
Shi Shi: It wasn't a particularly hidden den area. what with corpses and carrion of varying degrees of decomposition strewn about haphazardly. The stench alone would tip off any passersby to their location, yet none have dared to draw nearer. This was a pity to Shi Shi because that meant leaving the comfort of his bed to actually for something. This in itself was enough to sour the walker's mood but lo and behold there was Bai Yun sprawled out in a spot of sunshine that filtered through the trees. Just seeing her there being lazy when they were out of infuriated him. "Get up and hunt" he growled at her, taking a swipe at her with his paw, "or I'll eat YOU."
Bai Yun: In a way, it was their home and their paradise. The death and decay were almost too familiar, though sometimes she wishes that they either moved spots or decided to clean up. However she knew that she'd probably be the only one that would do such a thing. Before she could process what her 'better' half was saying, Bai Yun felt the swipe and instantly shot up, bristling her fur in defense. "What is wrong with you!" She snarled back, snorting loudly. "Too lazy and fat to hunt so now you want to chew on me?"
So I haven't rped him tooooo much but his very basic plot is that their dad is the leader of a cult and captured and got all three kids charmed to make them more easy to control and keep under his command. One of Bedlam's sisters is very opposed to the cult and their father and will work against them. Bedlam and the other sister have opted for the cult. He and that particular sister are very close. She's crazy and has two personalities. Bedlam himself is ruled by two things - lust and rage. He is extremely passionate, and really operates in the gray areas of morality. Chaotic neutral I would say he is.
Now as to his plots, I haven't really figured out where I want his life to go. Since he is charmed he has the ability to form attachments, and sort of do anything under the sun so I'm open for any fun ideas you might have! He's working on one fling at the moment but we're actively trying for them so hopefully they'll win soon. Beyond that he has no plans

Anyway, he sounds really interesting. Are there rules in the cult about how members find their mates?
I haven't rp'ed her yet, but she's mostly sorted out in my head. Aurora has no attachments, she's very much a free spirit, drifting from place to place. She likes to dance in sunlit meadows, and does so all the more freely when no one is watching because she gets self conscious. If she lets you watch her dance it means she thinks really well of you.
She would like some sort of attachment though, she thinks of love and friendship like the sun and rain that make plants grow, that you're better with someone in your life. However I could see her falling for someone that she might want to 'fix' or who doesn't seem right for her because she believes that no one is truly evil and that everyone wants to do good deep down (bit of idealist XD)
She'd would find the idea of a charmed PW interesting because then she would think she was definitely right if somebody like him can be made nicer just by a gem hehe
I don't think anyone in the cult really finds "mates" so much as minions to worship Bedlam's father like a God. He was never brought up to understand anything like love or affection or attachment, though he has become attached to his sister, so there's that. Meeting someone that wants to bring out those things in him would be really interesting to me. He's kind of an a*****e right now, but I like to think there's maybe something inside of him that is redeemable with the right sorts of prompting and pushing.
Perhaps, while prowling around in his feral form, he stumbles upon her dancing in secret and becomes entranced. After all, that's not the sort of thing that is done in the cult. She might not realize what he is at first, perhaps assuming he is just a normal wildcat. He'll keep his distance, but maybe follow her a while to watch her dance a few times. Sometimes she might see him, others she might not. Perhaps she'll work out that he is something other than the typical wild animal and try to befriend him, before he transforms before her. That might be a bit jarring for her, but he won't attack so she might be intrigued, having watching this skinwalker enjoying her dance - which is very un-skinwalkerlike behavior.
Ahh I see. Okay, so his children are like his disciples? Do they actively recruit new members? (sorry for the questions, it's very interesting ^_^)
She would have no idea what he is, she's never met one but knows vaguely about them because a silly Soq thought that because she has paws she was also one ( XD ). So yes, she would definitely just think he was just a wildcat. If he followed her, she would eventually become curious if not suspicious, and she would most likely to approach him, yes XD I'm not sure jarring would be the exact word, she'd likely be pretty startled and then mortified that she let him see her dance without knowing what he really was heh I think that once she got over her shock, she would be interested in him.
Is he particularly large/heavy? She's quite slender but average height, if he's taller than her she'll find him a bit menacing at first too heh
Well Mindsend owns Bedlam's father who is the cult leader and as far as I know they want all the members possible to worship him XD
I would say he's a little larger than average but not incredibly giant. This really sounds like it could be cute/fun!
