Start - Now
Ends - Feb 2nd 11.59 PM

The DreamWalkers are a deeply religious herd who have been cut off from the majority of the Soquili world thanks to a mountain trail which is only passable during the summer months. The valley in which they reside is often filled with mist and fog giving the area a somewhat ethereal feel..and likely adding to the herds belief systems as Soquili emerging from heavy fog can seem to 'appear' from nowhere.

They are peaceful for the most part but devoted to traditions and beliefs that can be seen as strange to outsiders. The herd fully believes that everything beyond their herdlands is a realm of dreams and not entirely real until made so through prayer.

This is a contest for a basket that shall be born into the above belief system, a child that was prayed for and shall be raised by the herds two highest ranking members. Please read up on the herd before continuing, as the herds belief system should play a significant role in your entry.

This is the Basket you will be trying for
User Image
All the baskets are female and as you can see the basket you are trying for is a changling basket! She will be special and has a great deal of plot potential in the herd.

Her Parents

Phasianidae
User Image

Your mother is the herds Luminary, the Gods 'Light on Earth' and acts as the herds Leader, she is a kind mare with a laid back easy going personality which makes her approachable despite her high rank. Phasianidae rules the herd with a firm yet loving hoof and while she strictly abides the herds belief systems she's not afraid to take a chance now and then if the situation demands it of her. Thus far the gods seem to favor your mothers rule and things have been going well for the herd.

Ramiel
User Image

If the Luminary is the light of the Gods then the Guardian is their weapon, highly favored and blessed with a tactical mind that is often noticed in foalhood those who will someday be Guardian are raised to be leaders - this is the position of your father and Ramiel takes his position seriously. Perhaps a bit more aloof then your mother Ramiel will none the less make it known that he loves you, Ramiel is a serious stallion, a brave warrior who would stop at nothing to keep the herd safe. A great deal of his time is spent guarding the mountain pass from which Nightmares and Dream Creatures sometimes arise from or training his Champions. Ramiel is even tempered but shall expect his children to grow up respectful and self sufficient capable of taking care of themselves and doing their part to help the herd.

The Slightly Older Half Sibling

Freyr
User Image

Like you, Freyr is a Mortal, a creature newly brought to reality, although he did not arrive as a basket he has been adopted and is being raised by your father. Freyr is happy go lucky and although a bit older will none the less make a good playmate

Name Ideas Arzu
Personality Ideas - Kinda skeptical of the whole dream thing but doesn't say anything because 1) why would she and 2)She thinks that the God hasn't granted her blessing and doesn't listen to her prayers.
Plot Ideas - AS a foal she got in trouble a lot because during prayer and the like she fell asleep of kinda just sat there as others prayed around her. Then she see the others around her have miracles happen and tries praying harder but doesn't stick to it. Decided to become a collector so she doesn't affect the others as much until she can win Oneiroi's favor. Maybe one day she is talking to a fellow dreamwalker and discusses her trouble accepting the faith.
Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Collector maybe.

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - Oneiroi. They are His Choosen.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - They don't see them. at least not as real things. They are dreams that wander around and annoy the herd unless they are prayed into existence or are persistent enough to be granted existence.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They are seen as dead but have taken their bodies with them in case they decide to come back. If they come back it is because they where prayed back into existence and have their memories wiped so they don't remember the dream world.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - They are viewed as dimwitted and are usually kept away from newcomers and foal so they don't taint the young and new minds.

Name Ideas - Celestine
Personality Ideas - Devoted to the Herd and Family completely, eager to please
Plot Ideas - As a foal she would listen to her Shepherd with rapt attention, seeking to absorb every bit of information and prayer that she could. She would strive to do everything she could to help the herd continue to thrive, and to gain Oneiroi's blessings in life.
Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Possibly Shaman, should it work out

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - Oneiroi
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - As a dream creature who is not fully part of this world, either passing through or sticking around, waiting for the herd to pray them into existence as real beings.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - That they have passed into the Dream World, and may one day return with fresh minds and no memories of what the Dream World holds.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Dimwitted, or in severe cases, a test sent to them by Oneiroi. They are kept from New members and foals so that their lack of belief does not taint them with false information.

Name Ideas Mimidae
Personality Ideas - Mimi enjoys pantomiming the various members of the herd. She's something of a mimic, repeating things she sees and hears to perfection, capturing the tone and mannerisms of who she is impersonating. She's even able to change her voice to mimic the voice of many members of the herd- which she uses for her own amusement and mischief. She isn't mean or cruel, she just enjoys laughing and lighthearted pranks. She doesn't see anything wrong with her behavior, and doesn't take anything seriously. She's flighty and somewhat hard to pin down. She is seen as a sign of favor from the Gods, which increases as she gets older. She is a bit uncomfortable with the pressure, which is likely the cause of her mimicry. As she grows she feels compelled to become an Oracle, since it seemed the expectation for her life. She takes her duties very seriously and constantly worries she isn't living up to her expectations. She spends a lot of time in prayer as an adult, though she slips back into her mimicry sometimes when she feels particularly nervous/stressed/pressured. (And occasionally just for fun)
Plot Ideas -
Foal:
1 - Mimidae mimics someone and gets caught - perhaps she is caught mimicking a ceremony or ritual she should NOT be performing by herself. This could be interpreted as her being advanced for her age, further putting pressure on her to be some sort of prodigy.
2 - Mimi is blamed for a rash of mini nightmares that happen upon the herd, causing mischief. The herd sees this as a necessary test, and Mimi merely the conduit for the gods.
3 - .Mimi decides to push her limits as far as what the herd will let her get away with. The specifics can be hashed out!
4 - While Mimi is seen as a gift from the gods, her siblings are seen as something else entirely. This doesn't sit well with Mimi, and she tries to stick by them, believing them to be just as favored as herself. Part of this is to shift the pressure she feels on herself.

Adult:
1 - I want some stroke of luck, something happening that causes the idea that she is somehow extra favored to come true. Something happens with Mimi at the center that looks like a blessing from the gods. Some crisis finds an answer, perhaps a particularly fruitful season of foals.... this is definitely up for discussion. This will more than solidify the general belief she is favored. It's also the main reason she feels pressured into becoming an Oracle.
2 - She never feels she's done enough in her capacity as oracle. When prayers are answered she still feels that she did not do much to make it happen, and when prayers aren't answered she blames herself. This is a burden she bears alone, keeping it all inside. Outwardly she's the same goofy, happy girl that popped out of her basket.
3 - A skeptic comes and is charismatic and convincing enough to begin to shake Mimi's faith. He/She tries t convince her to leave, to experience the world and realize it isn't a dream land. She battles with the temptation, wavering in her faith. She spends a long time praying, meditating, and asking advice from other, older members of the herd. Perhaps she has dreams or visions that help guide her. Eventually she comes to terms with things, coming to the other side of the trial feeling secure in her place for the first time.
4 - She steps up fully, finding her confidence in the herds' ways of life. She eventually becomes an authority figure in the herd, to an extent.

Additional plots:

I would love to hash out the family dynamic, talk out her relationship with her siblings and parents.

I'd also love to have her meet and plot out the other members of the herd
Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Oracle

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - The DreamWalkers worship the Oneiroi, Sons of the Goddess Nyx. In particular Morpheus the winged God of Dreams, Phobetor the God of Nightmares and Phantasus the God of Illusion.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - They don't really exist until prayed into being. They are dreams and nothing more. Fraternizing with a dream before it being prayed into reality is sort of taboo and not really talked about.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They return to the dreamworld. Should they return anything that happened to them outside of the herd was just a dream, or test from the Gods, and not reality.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Depends on their demeanor. If they are angry/hurtful about it they are seen as a test from the Gods. If they are calm/reasonable they are seen as simple folk who can't understand simple concepts.

Beloved Shapeshifter

Name Ideas - Sanja (Derived from Croatian and Serbian sanjati meaning "dream".)

Personality Ideas - Insaitable Curiosity. Wanting to learn about anything and everything someone is willing to teach her. She soaks up knowledge like a sponge and takes the Dreamwalker beliefs to heart after an encounter with a dream creature. As the foal grows up she becomes incredibly devout and develops a love of teaching younglings (and possibly dream creatures seeking to become real) about Dreamwalker ways. She wants to continue to pass on the knowledge that everyone was kind enough to share with her.
Plot Ideas -
- Lessons: Time with adults of all different ranks so she can ask her questions and they can impart knowledge onto this young impressionable mind. She is curious and loves to learn. Herd history, traditions and prayers would be of special interest to her, as would traditional crafts and herbalism. She would also be interested in learning the more martial arts, but she would prove to not be as adept at those.
- Dream Creature: She finds someone from the outside when they wander into Dreamwalker territory. Whether they prove to be a benevolent dream or a nightmare remains to be seen.
-- - Friendship: She is young yet and bonds easily with others - a friendship blossoms before a final outcome is reached. Such is taboo, but it might be overlooked due to her age?
-- - Dreamwalker: If the creature proves to be benevolent and wishes to become real she would find a way to help them join the Oneiroi's chosen. She will be delighted that, if successful, her friend is able to stay.
-- - Nightmare: If the creature proves to be a problem she would go to the Guardian and his Champions for help and/or advice. While hurt she learns a valuable lesson about how tricksy some dream creatures can be.
-- - Outcome: If her friend becomes a Dreamwalker then her attitude toward dream creatures would be softened somewhat. If they become a Nightmare she would be wary of them.
- Shepherd's Path: Now that she is nearly grown and the Spring Festival is coming it is time to put some serious thought into what she wanted to do with the rest of her life.
-- - Parents: Who better to ask that those that prayed for her? She knows and enjoys a great many things, perhaps they can help narrow it down for her.
-- - Oracles: She prays to the Oneiroi for advice, for what they wish her to be, and needs help in interpreting the answers.
-- - Mentors: Advice from some of her former teachers as their insight has always proven valuable before.
-- - Shepherd's Path, Affirmed: The answer has been there all long.
- Family: Not just her siblings, or the parents that prayed for them. It is important to her that she spends time and bonds with as many in the herd as she can. They are all family after all.

I would like to work in some plots about her changeling nature, but I'm not quite sure what they would be just yet.

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Shepherd

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - The Oneiroi - primarily Morpheus, Phobetor and Phantasus. The Dreamwalkers are the chosen and the only real beings. Everything outside their lands is a dream.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - Strangers are dream creatures. The persistent (benevolent) dreams can be made real with prayers of reality and allowed to join the Dreamwalkers. Harmful dream creatures are labeled Nightmares and are a test to be banished (killed) or chased back to the dream realm where they belong.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They have died and returned to the dream realm, electing to take their body with them should they return and choose to be resurrected through prayer. Anyone who chooses to return believes their excursions elsewhere to be an illusory dream at best. They have no real memories of their time outside.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Unless you are a newly brought to reality or very young - those considered to be still learning - it is frowned upon. Those who continue to question after they have taken the time to learn about the Dreamwalker beliefs are considered dim witted at best or at worst a test to be dispatched. It depends largely on the manner of the Soquili doing the questioning.

Name Ideas - Callithyia
Personality Ideas - Strong dedication to uphold the wishes of the gods. Callithyia, or Calli, is always going to have a deeply rooted belief in the gods that will be unable to be shaken. As Calli grows and continues to learn, she finds that she enjoys speaking to others about the gods, but is not patient enough to become a Shepherd. With extreme dedication to her foalhood goal, plus a desire to help her parents and siblings, it will be Calli's "dream" to become an Oracle and support her herd and family through her beliefs.
Plot Ideas - Foal -
Blessed Before Birth - Calli's devotion to the gods may stem from the fact that they blessed her mother with a leading position. Inspired by their benevolence at a very young age, Callithyia will start spending her time with the Oracles of the herd, praying to the gods for their happiness.
Group Study - Lessons are a time for learning, but no one ever said that her lessons had to be given alone! Calli is especially fond of rounding up her siblings and studying together with a Shepherd. It will be one of her favorite ways to bond with her siblings, even if she is seen as more devote than they.
An Important Lesson - Despite being such an avid learner about the gods and her herds beliefs and culture, Callithyia has never actually met a Dreamwalker before. One evening when lessons are winding down, Calli comes across a Dreamwalker. Whether it is a benevolent spirit or a Nightmare, Calli will learn a thing or two about the dreamworld away from her herd and carry the knowledge with her forever.

Adult -
Following the Path of Destiny - As Callithyia grows to adulthood, it becomes more clear what her destined path is. Too impatient to become a Shepherd, Calli finds herself embracing the life of an Oracle.
Twists and Turns - While vaguely aware of the fact that she and her siblings were different from many members of the herd, it isn't until adulthood that it becomes distinctly clear that she is not entirely similar to her family. Some look on her siblings with wariness in their eyes and Calli steps up to the plate as a sister to defend her family, even if it means from the gods she worships so.
Praying for New Life - After praying for couples within the herd to have foals of their own, Calli begins to desire a family of her own. Romantic details or lack their of can be hashed out at a later date.

Other -
Family - I would love for Callithyia to be involved with her family. The fact that her siblings are twisted and her parents are the leading ranks should produce some good family plots.
Lessons from the Gods - From an early age, I want Callithyia to be praying or learning from the Oracles. Lessons with Shepherds are also greatly desired.
Shamanism - After Calli becomes an Oracle, if a Shaman of the herd would like her assistance, she would be more than happy to help.

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Oracle

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - They worship the Oneroi, sons of the goddess Nyx. Specifically: Morpheus, the God of Dreams, Phobetor, the God of Nightmares, and Phantasus, the God of Illusion.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - Anyone outside of the herd is seen as an unreal dream, fixed in a illusion-based "reality" until prayed into existence by the herd.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They return to the Dream Realm and are perceived by the herd as dead. If they are prayed back into existence (return to the herd) then the merciful Oneroi erase their memories of what they had to undergo in the afterlife.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - It depends heavily on the way they act. If they are out-spoken/aggressive, they can be interpreted as a test from the gods. If they are soft-spoken/calm, then they are simply considered dim witted or slow. Either way, they are kept from the foals to prevent their false information from spreading to the youth.

Name Ideas Manisha "Goddess of Wisdom and Intelligence of the mind" (If I go with Oracle) or Vrachka "Medicine Woman" (if I go with Shaman)
Personality Ideas - She will be kind and just, but she will also be stern and determined in her goals. While she will tend to those that need it, she will not tolerate those that do not adhire to the ways of the herd. Foals and new members are given a grace period by her, but after a certain point then she will have no issue bringing you forth to be judged and taken care of if the means call for it. She will be devoted to her family and to her calling. She will also want her sisters to succeed as well and help push them to be the best that they can. When it comes to dream creatures she will be wary and uncertain of them until they are deemed worthy or cast out. Overall she will be well mannered and gracious to those around her.
Plot Ideas -
Foal:
You are but a dream, so why are you following me? She has her first encounter with a dream creature. What they say to her or how they come to her will depict on how she reacts. For she will still be young and learning the ways of the Oneiroi and how they deal with these dream creatures. Perhaps they want to become a part of the Oneiroi.
Weakness of the mind She encounters someone who is no longer a believer and she believes that they are just succumbing to a weakness of some sort. Perhaps they ramble on about how a dream creature told them many things which made them believe there was more out there? At either rate this will give her a reason to be more cautious of dream creatures and also start her on the path to her place among the herd.
I don't think we should be here. Something happens and her and her sisters are along the boarders of the herd. How they got there? No one is quite sure but she is more than aware of the dangers that might lurk beyond the mist that protects them. Perhaps something happens to them here? One of her sisters becomes injured and this pushes her to finally decide she wants to be a shaman? Since oracles heal through prayer and the injury that was sustained isn't one that simple prayer could fix.
Adult:
I shall heal you Perhaps their father, mother or one of the champions is injured while protecting the herd from some ghastly creature and the Oracles are more than aware that prayer alone will save them. So the burden to save them becomes entrusted in her capable hooves. If it's one of her parents will it cloud her judgment? Will it cause her to take drastic measure to ensure they're safety, or will she do as she would do with any patient that comes to her and treat them as usually is done?
Gathering more than just herbs While out hunting for herbs she is also on the lookout for potential males that would be suitable to have healthy and strong children with. Perhaps it's one of the champions or just another member of the herd. She will want to keep her families blood line strong and untainted and will likely hold many under much scrutiny, especially if there was someone within a males family that was a non believer.
(if allowed, because I always love a little drama. A strong dream creature enters their midst and is permitted to stay and she ends up having foals with said stallion. I think it would be interesting, but if it's outside of herd rules then just nyx it. I just thought it would be an interesting development. Maybe they will view her as having been gifted because of this? Since the creature was sent by Oneiroi to join them? Who's to say)

Somehow i want her Changeling nature to fall into place somehow. Though not entire sure how changelings work?

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Oracle or Shaman

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? -
They worship the Oneiroi, The three Sons of the Goddess Nyx; Morpheus, the winged God of Dreams; Phobetor, the God of Nightmares; and Phantasus, the God of Illusion.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? -
A stranger is viewed as a dream creature who is not truly alive. If the "dream creature" stays around long enough they may be granted a form of reality as a dream creature that was sent by Oneiroi to join them.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? -
When someone leaves the heard it is viewed as death, though not a true death. When a member leaves the herd they can choose to return one day and be resurrected through prayer. When they return any encounters they had on the outside are erased and all that's left is an illusionary dream.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? -
If someone in the herd continues to not believe then they are best considered as dimwitted and treated as such. Worst case they are considered a test by the Oneiroi that must be dispatched. The herd reacts to non-believers by how they represent themselves. If they are forceful or angry, they are considered a test, while those that are gentle and have less demanding prods are seen as innocent questions asked by those simply unable to grasp simple concepts. Simple minded Soquili like these are generally assigned menial tasks and kept away from the foals and newly created to keep from tainting them with false information.

Name Ideas - Anoushka, called Ani by those she is closest to.
Personality Ideas - Strong willed, determined, and intelligent, she BELIEVES in the herd's faith most fully. Her greatest weakness is not being able, or perhaps willing, to deal with things outside of that faith, beyond basic needs. She also can be very willful about her views. Prayer time is over? Not for her, until SHE decides so! She'll continue her prayers until she's ready to leave, thank you very much, and nevermind if you think she needs to go, say, help clean the altarstone (not sure if such a thing would exist, but in the chance that it does...) because she's PRAYING.
Her focus on her faith might lead others to believe she's on the cold hearted side. She doesn't get close to others often, because she's more interested in learning the lore, the history, and praying to the gods... At least for a time.
Plot Ideas -
Foal:
First Prayers: Sure, little Ani will probably have been to many prayers before this one, but something about this one will get her attention in a way that no other prayer session has. This one is the one that will truly awaken her deep belief, and her need to be one of the Oracles. Perhaps one of the current Oracles took time to speak to her, personally, before or after. Maybe something they said in the prayer caught her attention... But this prayer session is one that will change her life, and something about it will stick with her forever.
Teachings: She has begun spending time with the Shepard who has been assigned to teach her. Her willfulness will be a challenge for the Shepard, as she will often refuse to focus on the lessons of the day that THEY chose, but instead trying to insist on learning about this ceremony, or that prayer, that perhaps she is not ready for. Her impatience in this matter causes some sort of trouble, and her Shepard decides she needs a gentle punishment, to teach her to listen, and sets her a task of some nature. One that will prove difficult for Ani, and will teach her the value of both patience and understanding.
Stranger in a Strange Land: Ani meets some one not-of-herd... a dream. She's excited that the Oneiroi have sent her such an individual! Is it a test, or some sort of proof of their favor, that they sent her such a dream to see? Will the stranger impart wisdom, or will they turn out, instead, to be a Nightmare that will remind her that she, maybe, should be a little more humble?
Adult:
With Due Ceremony: Ani is asked to lead an important ceremony, for the first time. Understandably, she's nervous. What if she makes a mistake? What if she makes LOTS of mistakes? What if she messes it up COMPLETELY? Panicking and almost losing her head, she finds some one who helps her calm down, and pull herself together.
A Friend Indeed.: She's becoming ever more focused on her faith, and her need to be as close as one can be to the Oneiroi... Possibly to a point where she's forgetting to eat, or other such needs for herself. Certainly to the point where she's not really interacting with others outside of her duties as an Oracle. Some one, an old friend or just some one in the herd who has noticed, decides they need to intervene. Faith is good, after all, but killing yourself over it isn't, and nor is becoming so withdrawn that you have no real relationships. A wake up call is needed, and this soquili is just the one to provide it!
A Little Something More?: Having been brought back to earth, so to speak, Ani begins to realize she's actually a touch lonely. She begins to spend more time with the others, and making friends. Some one catches her attention... Possibly the soquili who brought her back, maybe some one else, but now Ani's beginning to get feelings she's not at ALL familiar with about them. She doesn't understand why she feels this way, and goes to a friend, or one of her sisters, to try to find out, and fix whatever is causing these strange reactions! After all, what good is trembling feelings in the belly, or sudden nerves whenever you're near one particular soquili? All it does is make life harder!
Opening Up, Like a Flower's Bloom: Having talked to her friend or sister, she now understands that she's fallen in love (or at least a really strong crush) and she needs to decide what to do. Her instinct is, really, to sit on these feelings and never let the one she feels them for know. But her heart says 'no no no!' and part of her mind says that's just falling back into bad habits of keeping to yourself. After a lot of internal debate, she decides to inform the object of her desire of how she feels. How do they react, and what will this mean for Ani?

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Oracle, in all probability.

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - The Oneiroi, sons of Nyx.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - As a dream, not some one who is real, but could be with prayer. Or as a nightmare, if they act in ways to harm the herd and members.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They are considered to have 'died', or returned to the dream. If they return, their memories of the time outside of the herd is 'wiped', and that their memories are dreams, not what actually happened.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Children and newly-made-real are treated as unlearned, and given some time to come to understanding the truth. Those who keep not believing after that, or are skeptical, are treated as slow individuals, not bright at all, and thus are kept away from the newly-made-real and children, to avoid them confusing and/or tainting their understanding.

Name Ideas - Nasamiituuq
Personality Ideas - While she loves her mother deeply, she simply idolizes her father. She is spirited, headstrong at times, and has an insatiable desire to explore every inch of the herd's territory, including the fringes. This curious mind of hers may end up with her getting into trouble at times. Her intentions are good, however.
Plot Ideas -
What... what are you..?
Have her meet her first dream-creature and, depending on if the creature is benign or a Nightmare, respond accordingly. If benign, she'll try to secretly observe it from afar and report it to her parents. If a Nightmare, she'll do her best to flee from the danger and warn her father. As a foal, she knows she'd stand no chance against the dream-creature on her own (benign or not).

You poor things keep showing up. Have you no place of your own, wherever you come from?
Having grown up a bit and in a better position to defend herself, she'll take to haunting the area where the dream-creatures often appear, fascinated by them. She'll have taken it upon herself to guide these poor lost apparitions back to their realm or, if they be benign and no place to return to, seek the herd's aid in a Prayer of Reality. If they are Nightmares, she'll do her best to drive them off or dispel their existence.
Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Oracle or Champion.

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - The Oneiroi, who are the three sons of the Goddess Nyx. Morpheus is the winged God of Dreams, Phobetor is the God of Nightmares, and Phantasus is the God of Illusion.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - They would not see the stranger as a living thing; it would be a dream-creature and not given form unless the dream-creature is persistent enough and the herd prays to grant them reality. Violent dream-creatures are called Nightmares, seen as tests by the Oneiroi, and are to be banished (slain) or chased back to the dream realm from which they came.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They either leave their true body behind (true death) due to being weary of reality or they take their body with them in case they wish to return to the Dreamwalker Herd. In either case, it is still seen as a "death". Departed members who wish to return can do so through the Prayer of Reality. Any encounters on the outside will be made hazy, as if they were only a dream and not reality. Any scars upon them they obtained while away are seen as a sign that the member underwent some trial or tribulation in the afterlife and passed.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - It would be taken as an insult if one were to question the herd's beliefs. Those new to the herd are given a bit of leeway as they are "still learning" and will be sent to the Oracles or Shepherds for lessons. If an individual continues to question the herd's beliefs, the herd will respond in a manner fitting the individual's manner. If they are gentle, less demanding prods it will be seen as the innocent attempts of the Soquili having difficulty grasping otherwise simple concepts. These are given menial tasks and kept on the outskirts of the herd, far from the foals and newly created so as to not taint them with false information. The more confrontational ones are seen as a test by the Oneiroi and must be dispatched.

Name Ideas Aislinh (Ash-lin)
Personality Ideas Aislinh is a feisty filly for certain, with temper and drive. Impatient, Inquisitive and Headstrong, it will take both her parents to reign her in as a child and guide her on the right path until they find a way to direct her pursuits. As she is a changeling, she will consider any differences proof that she is a living dream, and be very upset that she wasn't prayed for properly. and she will work twice as hard to make up for any deficiencies in considering herself (even if she doesn't say it) only partly real.
Plot Ideas -
- - Childhood:
----- 1. Ash is very upset at any of her changeling physical differences, and accuses her parents of praying for her 'wrong' and insists they do it again to fix her.
----- 2. Ash's first forgiveness ceremony, she refuses to forgive someone she feels wronged her.
----- 3. A 'kindly' dream comes and doesn't understand the ways of the DreamWalkers. Eventually understands enough to try and woo her away using her belief she is only half real. Aislinh is considering leaving, but takes too long to agree or disagree; impatient for a kill, the dream turns out to be a nightmare. She is saved by a Champion or one of her parents.
- - Adulthood:
----- 1. Not being careful during training, Aislinh is injured.
----- 2. Ash grows fond of or falls in love with a dream visitor and begs for the herd to try and make him real. Her perversity is frowned upon. Intense disapproval. Uncertain how to deal with it, and inspired by childhhood memories, the consideration is made to perhaps visit the land of dreams to be with him. Perhaps she does leave, and needs to be prayed back into reality?
----- 3. Aislinh takes down her first Nightmare, at great cost. Perhaps she loses a friend for not destroying it quickly enough, perhaps she hesitates and cannot bring herself to banish it and is injured herself?

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - The herd worships the Oneiroi.
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - As a dream, not truly alive. They are not real until they are prayed into reality. Creating a being is sacred and is not done without much contemplation.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - Dreamwalkers do not leave, they simply die and take their bodies with them.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Someone who continues to question things and make waves however is at best considered dimwitted and treated as such and at worst considered a test by the Oneiroi that must be dispatched (killed.)

Name Ideas Lisena
Personality Ideas - She's quiet, observant and wants to understand things fully, though when she's young she questions certain things, like why those who are parts of the dream outside and haven't been made real can still be touched. When she gets older and has more sleep dreams, she comes to understand just how real dreams can seem and accepts this as truth easily.
Plot Ideas - I have none, but I would more than happily plot some!
Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - I'd wait until I had gotten to know her more completely first.

Name Ideas - Eudocia
Personality Ideas - Eudocia, from the time she is born, will be an extremely serious mare. The belief system held by the herd is the most important thing to her and she spends a lot of time in prayer - and asleep. In mythology, the Oneiroi are said to bring dreams, and, depending on which gate (horn or ivory) they descend from, they may be true or false. Eudocia is very good at deciphering other's dreams as true dreams, and things that must come to pass, or false. This ability has only increased her devout nature, spending lots of her time asleep, trying to see the best path for her herd to take. Despite her serious nature, or perhaps because of it, Eudocia is extremely easy to open up to. There is no judgement from her (who is she to make judgements, as a mortal? Especially one who is so...different) and offers advice freely. Of course, sometimes a little too freely. Her nose is probably in other's business far too often. She's so entitled!
Plot Ideas -
- Dreaming something as a foal into existence, that's a total coincidence, but believing because of this she is meant to be the herd's Oracle
- Falling asleep during something extremely important that she absolutely needs to be awake for. Oops.
- Losing a close friend due to her serious nature that will not be shaken
- Something to shake her beliefs, and cause her to doubt, only to have it driven home again. Likely before becoming an Oracle.
- Eventually realizing her insight is better used to serve the Gods by being a shepherd, and giving up her ambition to be an Oracle. A fitting sacrafice to the Gods of dreaming.

Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? - Shepherd.

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - Oneiroi
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - Strangers are considered to be an illusion unless they are prayed into existence. Violent visitors are seen as tests from the Gods.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - The Soquili has returned to the dream realm, and taken their body with them.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - Dimwitted, or considered a test sent by the Oneiroi that need to be dispatched. If deemed simple minded, they are given menial tasks and secluded.

Name Ideas Netzach
Personality Ideas I'm thinking she'd be a bit more serious like her parents. She'll want to excel at what she does and not compromise. If she doesn't master it she'll keep at it with hard work until she does. She's all about the herd and wanting to protect everyone.

But because she's very serious she might seem a bit standoffish but she really isn't. She's just very focused!
Plot Ideas I'd like to see her make friends and calm down a little bit.
She'll always be training to be more like her father and maybe be chosen as the next Gaurdian.
She'll have to learn that even with hard work you can't always get what you want.
Have a rival
Do you have a rank in the herd you are eyeing for your foal? Champion

Herd Stuff

Who do the herd Wordship? - Morpheus, Phobetor, Phantasus - the Oneiroi
How would a member of the herd see a stranger? - They see outsiders as "Dream Creatures" and not actually alive.
What happens to someone who leaves the herd? - They are though of as dead, but they left their body behind for, incase they wish to return through resurrection of prayer. Otherwise, if they truly die, the herd thinks of it as the members are tired of reality.
How does the herd view those who don't believe? - It'll depend on the manner of none belief. Someone that seems unable to grasp is considered dimwitted and given minial tasks and kept from the foal. More aggressive types are though of as tests from the Oneiroi. In the worst case scenario the non believer would be 'dispatched'.
