I don't remember really.. I joined in 09 but I don't think I played for too long, I did get on zOMG of course but whether it was already on the site or not I don't know. I ended up forgetting to even get on the site..and when I actually remembered about gaia and got on zOMG people all had integ, abuse, sr, and ff. Course I remember being on when sh was released but never wanted to buy it, heh. DMS was still in the works when I got back and so I ended up staying this time and got my rl best friend to come join me on here eventually.

Witty Shapeshifter

I joined Gaia back in '05 '04 (derpderp I forgot my own join date), so I was here when they started talking of that battle system and was around when it went live.

Got in the first night when it was limited access. They were letting people in based on the last digit of their user ID and I was one of the lucky ones.

Supportive Witch

Back in '04, I stumbled across Gaia in a search for dress up games in a drunken stupor, and the word "anime" in the description caught my attention.
For several years, I only ever came back when myspace and xanga refused to hold my attention.
Having always been something of a lurker (even before I knew there was a name for it),
my gold income was solely from voting in poles, then from jigsaw (and other minigames to a lesser extent).

I was frequently using Gaia by '07, and would constantly rage that nobody would ever be able to save up 24k for imp potions.
Due to this, I went on what would become one of several year-long haituses, and came back in late '08 to see that zOMG was going into open beta.
I played it once and absolutely hated it. I left again.

I came back infrequently (once every three or four months) for the next few years until the boy I was dating started telling me all about this
cool new site he had found, and about how awesome this game on it was (this was around early '10).
As soon as i saw it was Gaia, I couldn't help but roll my eyes. That is, until I saw he had not one, but two imp potions just sitting in his invo.
This is about when I really started listening to him gush about zOMG and how much gold could be made from it, so I decided to give it another shot.
This time, the game was so much easier! Not only did I know what was going on, I could kill things and leave the sewers!

I still wasn't very good at playing, and would run the instant something tried to attack me, but after a few weeks I had made enough for my own imp potion.
I was on top of the world. I felt like I had become one of the Gaia elite. After seeing all the new items that had come out, I knew I was stuck here. I had to have more.
Around this time, my boyfriend and I broke up. After this, Gaia and zOMG became the main focus of my attention.

I kept playing zOMG for a few months, soloing everything in my way until I made it to Bass'ken Lake before reluctantly joining crews to progress.
After a while, it because autonomous. Join a crew, grab the rings I was told to, defeat Papa Saw, find a new crew.

It went on like this for months until my first time in Otami. Some kind soul escorted my CL 7.0 butt everywhere my quests told me to go.
I didn't understand it. He had all CL 10.0 rings, so they weren't getting anything out of this. Eventually, he convinced me to go back and try SS.

Much to my disbelief, these crews were nice and genuinely helpful like my Otami friend was. I actually started to look forward to playing!
I loaded myself up with CL 18.9 rings and, for a month I became the best traveling medic I could be for not having a sweetheart ring.
Unfortunately, my medic days were cut short as I began another year-long hiatus for school. Against all odds, my school crush was on Gaia, too!

After finally regaining unfettered internet access again (damn you, NetNanny!), I flocked back to zOMG, only to find all my friends still in Gold Beach.
We joked, laughed, and smebbed just like the good ol' days until one daring person dragged me back to Bill's Ranch.
"What the hell are we doing here? There's almost nothing to do other than defib DMP crews! What do you mean 'DMS'? It's 'DMP'..."

I was astounded! Gaia added a new zone to zOMG and nobody had told me? I was thrilled that I could get my rings over CL 10.0 again.
Once again, I saw all the new items. After swooning over the new arm and leg mods that were pouring into the market, I was stuck here again.
This time, however, was different. I wasn't stuck just for the pretty pixels, I was stuck because of all the wonderful friends I had made.

Okay, mini novel over sweatdrop

I was already a member on Gaia. Zomg came out when I was in high school. It was just around the time when all of my irl friends had quit Gaia and I was thinking about quitting myself. Even though it may sound corny Zomg kept me on the site. It was the first mmo I ever tried since you didn't have to download the game. I remember being super excited that I was a zeta tester (users that had been active on gaia for a certain number of years were allowed access to the game slightly earlier than general users).

Was already a Gaian when I noticed 'zOMG!', I started playing it after Beta.

wahmbulance Say, you should add this option for the poll: that one was ALREADY a Gaian and saw 'zOMG!' on Gaia itself. Makes things easier for some. wahmbulance

I was already on Gaia and tried it after the beta was opened. It was buggier and lagged more back then so I didn't get far at first, but used it to gain purely gain gold eventually. After DMS came out it quickly became the only reason I used Gaia, regardless of gold income because of the fun, casual style of gameplay.

yeah something like this^
i remember when it first came out a LONG time ago it seems

Yep,already on Gaia at the time. I've been off and on hiatus for years, but I came back recently to all of this, and even though I was never a hardcore zOMG player, I'm very angry on everyone else's behalf, especially those that spent years on it.

A friend asked me to join but I didn't until a couple months later when I accidentally clicked on it. It was better than I expected despite the lag. There was a lot of nice people and I like the quests and the story line with the animated heart
