- The year is 1977, the seventh and final year in the Hogwarts education of Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs. But the graduation or everyone's favorite (or most loathed) troublemakers is only the tip of the iceberg this year when it comes to unsettling events.
Hogwarts' long-time professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts has retired and the post has been filled by Professor Tom Marvolo Riddle. A few weeks into term it became clear there would be changes around Hogwarts, as the Professor insisted upon returning a level of old-world traditionalism to Hogwarts. Whispers of unusually cruel detentions have started to take root in school but it's hard to tell where they are coming from, as everyone seems to clam up when asked directly.
If students are uneasy about their new teacher...there should be.
There is much more to Professor Riddle than meets the eye. Fresh out of school, Riddle came close to asking Professor Dumbledore for the post...but at the last minute, changed his plans and decided to bide his time. For years after graduation, Riddle disappeared. Meanwhile, a new evil stylizing himself Lord Voldemort has risen and gathered a formidable amount of followers, all dedicated to the furthering of Pureblood supremacy and the suppression of Muggle and Muggleborn rights.
Unbeknownst to Professor Dumbledore, Professor Riddle and Lord Voldemort are one and the same. Now, with his teaching post secured, he is more apt than ever to recruit Pureblood students to his cause...and to make life difficult for the Mudbloods.
Although it isn't clear where the darkness running rampant in school is coming from, Dumbledore suspects evil is afoot. Several professors and some of the students have banded together as the Order of the Phoenix, determined to unravel the mystery and restore order to Hogwarts and the wizarding world at large.
So I ask you now, residents of Hogwarts: whose side are you on?
