Keiss had scarcely turned out into the hall from the library’s open double doors, when he was approached by someone. So far he only knew his roommate and only by name. Despite both of them arriving the day before, they somehow missed each other the whole time. Probably because Keiss had decided to go to bed early in order to beat the rush to the library copy machine. That ended up being unnecessary as Keiss had been alone the whole time, apart from the library moogle who had welcomed him and then set about its own work.

In any case, he ought to get acquainted with this person, especially since they’d be coworkers. He was a bit too bubbly for Keiss’ tastes though. The older male had guessed correctly that he was staff, something that pleased Keiss as he figured he might look like another student to some. The stack of papers had apparently been the clue, but who cared about the little details. As his companion introduced himself, Keiss made sure to repeat the important details to himself. Laguna Loire, Literature Teacher, age 44. Heh. That rhymed. That was probably why Laguna was saying it sounded cool.

Keiss got a kick out of the fact that both their ages were double digits and that his age times two equaled Laguna’s. “Colonel Keiss de le Faguita. Combat Teacher, age 22,” he said in return. Introducing himself on habit as Colonel, besides he wasn’t released from the military, just put on “temporary” leave. “I’d offer my hand, but you know.” He shifted the papers in his arms slightly as a sign.

Bartz had definitely made the right decision by riding Boko to school. There were so many taxis lined up that it would have taken at least a half hour for him to reach the front gate from the parking lot entrance, had he ridden in one. Besides he couldn’t let Boko get sold along with the house and the other belongings his family once had.

It had been a long trip however, and both he and Boko were exhausted. Bartz had left Lix several days earlier with Boko and the two had been camping out ever since. This made Bartz quite the sight to look at; muddy shoes, grass clinging to his clothes, his hair oily and windswept. He really needed a shower as soon as he got to his dorm, but first he needed to find the main office.

Bartz descended from Boko, patting him on the beak before leading him through the front gate and onto the school grounds. “You’ll probably have to wait for me out here buddy. I doubt they’d let you in the actual school.” Just as he said that, a moogle flew toward them. “I’m sorry, but pets are prohibited at this school. Did you not read the school policies that came with your acceptance letter?” Of course he had, but that had nothing to do with Boko. He wore a disgruntled face and patted Boko on his beak once more. “Boko’s not a pet!” he defended. “He’s family!”

“I’m sorry but its school policy. There’s nothing I can do to change that.” Bartz knew this was true. The moogle just worked for the school. It didn’t make the rules, but Bartz wasn’t going to give up without a fight. “I don’t care if it’s school policy! Boko stays or I go!” Maybe he’d start his world adventures sooner than he planned.

It was clear the moogle didn’t know what to do, as it shifted uncomfortably. Finally It said, “I’ll see what I can do,” and flew off to find someone of authority. Bartz grinned, but tried not to get too overconfident. Sure, he’d won the battle, but the war wasn’t over yet.

It was a bit strange to see the room stripped bare of its necessities. Well, the furniture was placed in storage while the smaller things were shipped off to her next destination. Hopefully, everything would get there in one piece. “I’ll just take a look around for old time sakes. I won’t be seeing this place again… Hmm, I’ll take one last look around for old time sakes.” “Maybe I’ll be able to find those pens I lost.” was mentally tacked on.

                        “FOUND THEM!” could be heard

After leaving her apartment, Xu caught the first train out to the school. A pen tucked behind her ear as eyes read over some papers. “Glad I asked for copies to be made. Hmm… Let me see here, main building is located just inside the front gates. I’ll be heading there first. After that I’ll head to the gym to check it out. Perhaps I should- !!!” she had looked up just in time to see someone impact the window. A grin couldn’t be helped as the male rubbed their injured nose and sat down.

“That looked like it hurt.” Xu chuckled as the male jumped. Not so aware of his surroundings now, was he? It was a bit amusing really. There wasn’t a need to tease the boy.

She watched as he rubbed the back of his neck. Seemed like an action they were quite used to making. He gave a nervous laugh before he spoke. “Um, well, I kind of used to pain to be honest. Kind of a natural klutz.” She quirked a brow. He couldn’t really be that much of a klutz, right? To be used to pain from just that… Then again…

“Oh! Let me introduce myself. I’m Demyx de Muzică, nice to meet you!” he punctuated his greeting with a cheerful smile.

Well, he sure bounced back quickly. She found that to be a good quality in a person. “Aren’t you the chipper one.” Xu returned Demyx’s smile, finding it to be a bit contagious. “A pleasure to meet you de Muzică. I’m Xu Zhu~” they shook hands. “On your way to Dissidia High I take it?” she asked noticing the pamphlet sticking out of his backpack.

Confusion and then bewilderment fleeted across his face. “Huh? How’d you k-” a finger pointed at the pamphlet. “Oh… I am. Though, my parents sort of enrolled me without telling me and didn’t bother with informing me until the other day… day… about it… Why are you smiling like that…?”

“He took me quite seriously about having the Phys. Ed. Class dropping dead.” Xu laughed, she was mostly kidding about it, mostly. “Doubt the faculty would appreciate their students falling asleep during their lessons.” She has to remind herself that this was a public school and not a military academy. A cab was hailed down, though it appeared she would be riding with someone and luckily they were both headed to the same destination. Though, she had to grin at her luck a fellow faculty member, excellent.

“Huh, so that was the nurse. Interesting person…” her thoughts trailed off as she stepped out of the cab. Arecia had already disappeared onto school grounds. More than likely headed to the main office and then to Nurse’s Office, the woman worked quick. It seemed before the other had left she paid for half the cab fare. “I’ll have to speak with her sometime. Seem like a decent person.”

The cab took off a minute after the remaining fare was paid. The girls at the front gate appeared to be busy with their own little world, so she left them alone and carried on with business.

“Hmm… I have quite the number of students. What shall I plan for them I wonder~?” Though, a number of plans were already running through her head. Quickly, the brunette handed toward the faculty dorm to drop off her things before heading towards the gym. More than just a bit curious to the size of it. Small gym space, to a degree would limit the sort of activities that could be done, to avoid serious injury. Hopefully it wasn’t, because it would dampen her spirits a bit much, but one could make do. They’ll just be outside more.

Did the halls become noisier? Like most places, there were more people than the boy was comfortable dealing with looming about. This disorganized chaos made him long for the orderly halls of the academy. I hate it here already. A breath left him as someone bumped into his left side. As his was the heavier frame, the youth lightly staggered from the impact. The scowl upon Squall's face seemed to give little option but to worsen, cold eyes focusing on the culprit.

Lengthy chocolate bangs caught his sights first, then the warmth of green eyes; a girl. A smile like the one she wore as she offered apology would most likely prompt a mirrored attempt from most. This stern youth wasn't one of those people, proven by the disenchantment that remained on his countenance. He never boded well with such cheerful people. "Watch where you're going," he shot out in answer, his voice in a cold monotone. I don't have time to talk to some girl. Squall turned his attention away from the brunette and continued looking for the main office.

“B-but-” Moglin stuttered as the girl told him there wasn’t a need for him to repeatedly apologize. He felt bad for crashing into her like that. Fault could completely be placed on the squirrel for the trouble it caused. Though, the moogle knew well that part of the blame fell on him. Not aware of his surroundings and lost his cool. It was a Kupo Nut, one does not waste a good Kupo Nut! It should be considered a crime to do so, kupo!

Mood brighten exceedingly so. She was not hurt, kupo! That was always good news. “Glad you weren’t hurt, kupo! Though, I still feel bad for crashing into you like that…” Sentenced drifted, mind wondered whether or not the reason should be told to why it happened. Eyes looked to the ground as he mumbled. “Squirrel. Kupo Nut. Shouldn’t be wasted.” Now that he said it. It did sound rather silly. He looked back up rubbing the back of his head in a sheepish manner.

Head tilted to the side as the young girl turned her attention to a spunky brunette. Did he interrupt their talk? Hopefully he didn’t, it would only make him feel worse. “Eiko Carol…?” Arms folded mind went to work. “Is she in Drama?” roster was pulled out and eyes scanned it. Nope, Ms. Carol was not in his class. He was a bit sad by this, based on first impression, Eiko seemed like a kind girl with lots of energy. Though, drama wasn’t meant for everyone! Roster was put away.

“KUPO!” Moglin went when the spunky brunette poked him. It tickled and rubbed his side. “I am not cute! I am manly!” Moglin thought and he definitely wasn’t a stuffed animal. At the mention of kidnapping Moglin ducked behind Eiko and peered over the girl’s shoulder. “KUPO! No kidnapping faculty members!” the last thing that needed to happen was for him to be added to a student’s stuffed animal collection. For now, he’ll just safely stay behind Eiko.

Wait her name was Selphie? The moogle couldn’t recall seeing the girl’s name on the class roster. She probably wasn’t in drama. Right, a question was asked. “Yes! I am part of the faculty. I am-” he came from behind Eiko and did a little spin, “the Drama Teacher!” he stroke a pose. Though, his introduction was interrupted by the arrival of another. Chocobo? This building sure was popular. “Girl’s Dorm…? THAT CRAFTY SQUIRREL! I WILL GET YOU BACK JUST YOU WAIT!” a fist punched the air. The critter will not win.

This one’s name was Zell. Not on the roster either. Would he ever run into a student that was in his class or not? He should probably introduce himself. “Nice to meet you Eiko, Selphie, and Zell. I am Hattsumikamine Rōtoyōsuna Eripuruchi, you can call me Moglin.”

This was a dream come true! Already they were on the fast track to being friends. Terra felt incredibly lucky. She had been expecting a hard time communicating and befriending the people here. With a friend, her language skills can grow and she'll be able to make MORE friends. It won't be long until she's completely fluent in English. Not only that, they were going to find the Fancy Moogle!

They weren't very far from the track field when their search was immediately interrupted. A tall man carrying authority swooped in and basically had a dispute with the boy she was with. Terra made sure to stay out of it, noting how immediately irritated and violent her escort's aura became. Before she knew it, he had swung the wicked blade at the man. She let out a squeak, both hands covering her mouth in horror.

This wasn't supposed to happen! This wasn't supposed to be how she made new friends! Someone so easily tempered and violent- She was frozen in place, trembling like a frightened, cornered rabbit.

Ellone was absolutely thrilled. Not only was she working with her surrogate father, but now her beloved uncle had joined the scene. She could already imagine the happy times in this school. She took mental notes to ask both Laguna and Kiros to be her models for art class. This way, she wouldn't have to deal with a stranger and Laguna always was easy to push into suggestions. How would that conversation go, she wondered. He'd probably be flattered, maybe reject a couple times, and eventually start coming up with poses far too ridiculous to imagine. Kiros would be a bit more difficult to convince if he objected.

Ah, but that was for another day.

"That's wonderful!" Graceful hands clapped together once with excitement before falling back into place, angled, at her side. "You'll make a marvelous counselor. You're so easy to talk to and you have so much experience already." Flattery was in her every day vocabulary.

A smile, chocolate hues dancing in morning sunlight. "Yes, that's right. Before he went to his classroom. I'm sure you know he's the literary teacher." It was a rare day when one DIDN'T know anything Laguna was doing, past or present. He talked so much, and all. That was the cornerstone of why she believed Kiros would be an excellent counselor. He had the patience of a saint. "Are you exploring the school today?" It was an educated guess.

“I suspect nothing I say will change your mind?”

“My resignation was handed in three months ago, Khalia. There was enough time for persuasion from then until now. If you wished for me to remain at my post, the determination was not there.”

A brief chuckle. “Your sarcastic remarks will be missed.”

A tall tale sign of a smirk played on her lips. “Some are more than glad to see me go. Do take care in picking my replacement. I rather not be remembered as the one who was replaced by an idiot.”

“I do wonder who Khalia found as my replacement.” Arecia thought as she entered school grounds. Ah, yes, Xu was an interesting character she happened to meet just moments ago. Had a number of questions she did not mind answering in the slightest. It did serve to pass the time as the cab weaved in and out of traffic. A very curious nature, though she seemed to be fishing for information more than anything else. It amused her, but she kept her answers short and to the point. If she had to guess, the young woman was fairly new to teaching.

After the cab had reached their shared destination, the woman paid for her share of the fare and left. “I wish you luck Ms. Zhu. Let not the little monsters tear you to shreds.” Light cast a glare across her glasses as she walked towards the main office. Though, she had to stop as a brow rose. “So Moglin is here as well? Hmm…” a hand cupped her chin. It did explain the rambling the Moogle did from time to time about a new place of opportunities. Shame, they were in the same place.

A brow quirked. “Is he honestly chasing after a squirrel for that thrown Kupo Nut?” the woman thought as hazel eyes watched the scene play out before her. “Hmm…” was all one could muster and headed towards the main building. This institution was quite small compared to the Peristylium, quite so. Students and faculty members would get to her sooner rather than later. Oh joy, it would be no different than patching up of moronic cadets who simply did not listen to their instructor’s advise. Would this school be any different? “Children will be children.”

“Everything is in order…” Arecia spoke as a finger tapped her chin. All the necessities and a little extra for those adventurous students. Lips curved up in a small smile, this was quite beyond her expectation and it pleased her. A glimpse of red was caught from the corner of her eye. A body leaned against the door frame, acting like they belonged there. Wonderful, red heads were her favorite. Now how to rid of this nuisance.

“If you aren’t seeking any immediate medical attention, I suggest you take your leave.” Hazel eyes looked over her shoulder and narrowed.

FARIS SCHERWIZ
'Cause I got friends in low places,
Where the Whiskey drowns,
And the Beer chases my blues away, But I'll be okay,

Now I'm not big on social graces,
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis,
Oh I got friends, In low places.

Faris whistled as she casually walked up to the front door of the school building. No one saw her off, there was no taxi driver to pay: she had walked from the bus stop. A little walking never hurt the teen and she was used to plenty.

Fancy. Wonder if they'll reject me on sight if I don't match the decor.

As she had been informed, she apparently needed to go to the office for her dorm assignment and schedule. May as well. She only had one small bag slung over her shoulder but it'd be nice to know where to set it. She entered the building and immediately saw the trail of puddles/footprints, a couple of them already dispersed a bit by contact with the combat boots Faris currently wore. One glance and she could tell some staff member was questioning what was probably a student, considering his wild hair and defensive body language. She could just walk by and keep searching for the office. She should keep her mouth shut or be polite to someone who looked like he meant business. Unfortunately she didn't feel like caring very much about what she should do at the moment.

"So one little puddle and we're interrogated? I didn't know this was military school. Must not've read the reading material very closely. Speaking of, could one of you gents point me in the direction of the office we pick up dorm assignments from?"

She said all this in a calm tone with a placid smile on her face when she finished her question. Faris truly meant no offense, unfortunately this was how she talked 24/7. If the staff member got angry, it certainly wouldn't be the first time her mouth had gotten her into a scrape. What he couldn't know was what Faris was like when she was IN a scrape. But surely one little blunt comment wouldn't get in trouble before the school year started, right?

tab Sometimes, Refia wondered if it was a good idea. Then again, her mind changes. No. Don't even think of going back. she would chastise herself as she proceeded out of the bus station to keep going. She had already left home without a word to her father. He would be about the only person to hold her back from knowing more... and she was getting sick and tired of just knowing how to tinker with many things. There was much more to the world than that. Refia was sure of it. For a long time, she's lived in a small village of Kazus where everyone knew each other. It was such a quaint little life... but it didn't sit well with Refia.

tab So whenever someone suggested she took a cab to get to her destination, she politely declined and continued on her way. This was a new world for Refia to explore and get to know. Only once in a while did she allow herself a small break... but that was about it. There was much traveling to be done, yet so much more to see. A number of things, she had heard from her father, but seeing them in person was quite different! Soon enough, she found herself at a ranch. Of course, she didn't expect to know anyone, but a portrait of a young woman with almost an identical hairstyle as her own caught her attention. It wasn't every day that she'd find someone (in a picture) with almost the same style as her own...

tab "Ah, that be a picture of my little sis. Ain't she a beaut?" a male's voice spoke from behind. She turned to see the man for a moment in surprise. He shared an equally surprised expression for a moment. "Why... could you be liddle Refia?" The girl blinked for a moment before she meekly nodded. "..Yeah. My name is Refia." she spoke, almost dumbfounded.
"By the gods, I never expected to meet you ever agin! Do you recognize me? Oh wait, of course you wouldn't! We only met once when you were a wee baby." he continued to ramble on and on for a while before offering to show her around, thinking she was here to visit.

tab "Umm... Mister, you got it wrong. I'm actually here to--" she spoke for a moment as she was being dragged toward a stall. He interrupted her, insisting she had to see something at the very least. With a sigh, she agreed as he lead her inside... and almost immediately, something rubbed against Refia's upper arm! "Excuse me, please stop!" she spoke in surprise as she shifted away. The man lit up a light so she could see that he wasn't the one doing that. It was a chocobo!

tab Refia blinked in surprise over how friendly it was toward her. "That one would be yurs, Refia. He jus about hatched around the day you were born. But yur father insisted you wouldn't need one." he explained. Refia blinked for a moment as she contemplated on whether or not if she really should. She did hear stories about them. Their loyalty, kindness, fluffiness... and various other things. But never had she expected she'd have a partner of her own. And it remembered her..? Refia reached out to pat the bird on its beak, who chirped before nuzzling against her hand. A smile came upon her face then as she hugged his head close. "Hello Choco." she cooed as the two restarted a bond.

The chipper man beamed as the introduction was returned. "Keiss de la Fajita, eh? That's a pretty cool name!" Pronunciations right off were clearly not one of Laguna's strong suits, his own error flying over his head. "Ah, the younger guys tend to have real neat names, I noticed. Nothin' wrong with that. And a colonel to boot! Never would've figured you for a military man!" Although he was rambling out his thoughts, he nodded in a sagely manner. One arm crossed his torso, supporting the other as his chin was cradled by thoughtful fingers. Not too long on campus and he'd already met someone interesting! Good sign!

"Then again, I kinda got those words myself. A lotta times, actually. What counts it that you can hold your own, right? Right. But I dunno if that'll make much difference unless you're for one of those physical classes... I didn't even know they'd have classes like that, really! Combat and Bestiary? But then again, it's better for the kids to offend themselves when the time comes, right? "

Irvine Kinneas

Location: Dorms
Company: Vaan, Tidus
Mood: Friendly

Irvine smiled. Vaan had a nice laugh, friendly and full of energy. It reminded him of one of the few friends he had had at the last academy, one that he actually missed. Oddly enough, it didn't make him "homesick" or any other such nonsense; it made Dissidia all the more inviting. He chuckled and shook his head. "It's not nearly as big as my last school," Irvine said, looking around. "And it's a hell of a lot friendly. Last place look way too much like a prison, so I probably looked pretty damn lost when I walked through those doors."

His smiled widened as Vaan accepted the invitation to explore the school together. "Excellent, I'll be back in a second then." Irvine turned---

And then stopped. He eyed the new comer with mild interest. Vaan seemed to recognize him, or at least he recognized something in him that reminded Vaan of someone else. Irvine looked the new comer up and down once. He wasn't familiar to Irvine, but if he was famous (except why would someone famous come to a more public school? There were so many private, elite academies; Irvine had been kicked out of several of them). It was probably just a manner of the structure of his face. Some people just looked familiar.

"The more the merrier," he said to the new student, shouldering his bag again as he nodded towards the dorm. "We can drop our stuff off and then poke our heads around the school. At the very least, we should find the important stuff, like the library and the cafeteria," he laughed.

"Irvine, by the way. Irvine Kinneas."

It was hard to be anything other than cheerful around Ellone; the woman had a natural ability to make people laugh, to make their lives--at the very least their day--seem all the easier, at least for the moment. It was something Laguna and Kiros appreciated. Especially Kiros, who felt jaded enough on occasion that even Laguna's good moods couldn't quite help him.

He ran a hand along the back of his neck, smiling. "I'm not sure I'd call it experience. More like making almost every single mistake a teenager can ," Kiros said. He shrugged. "Still, it should all make it easier to talk to them.

"He might of mentioned it a time or two, or ten. I stopped counting after five," Kiros said. Laguna was his friend, had been his friend for years, and he was used to the way the man talked about anything and everything to an extent and at a frequency that in anyone else would be exhausting. Most days, it was oddly endearing. The man could never not be excited about things. "He'll be an excellent teacher, although I hope he actually uses his blackboard. I don't think his students will be able to follow him all that well in the beginning, you know how fast he talks."

Exploring the school was on Kiros' itinerary. He had wanted to get to the school early and set up, which he had, but between the dorm, his car, and his office, he hadn't done much to get a feel for the layout. Now would be as good a time as any, and perhaps better, since he might have a colleague to wander around with.

"I am. Care to join me?"

An eye closed as a yawn escaped from the red head’s lips as a hand covered his mouth. He had come in early to avoid the traffic and the sudden cluster hell of new students who due to arrive. Give or take what part of the faculty decided to beat the rush or just wanted to get ahead of the game. The red head was dead positive that guy was already here. At times it had him wondering if he woke before the sun even rose or if he even slept. “Wouldn’t doubt it.” He mused with a slight smile as he continued to scope out the campus.

As to why he was even here at this hour was simple. It was not to get ahead of the game, but to simply map out the area. Something he typically did when he was going through school. Find the places security always seemed to overlook, those dark corners they think students wouldn’t think of going. Eyes rolled, it was their own downfall in the end and he only let himself get caught when bored. At least they were getting paid to actually do their job. Unlike those select few he saw light up with some students behind the school gym.

“Hmm, let’s see…” he thought as he took in his surroundings. “One… Two… Three…” for a moment he came to a stop. A red brow rose. “Well now, taking a wild guess that Moogle is teacher… … …Did it just seriously challenge a squirrel to a duel?” at least the well-dressed Moogle will provide some entertainment. “I’ll meet the Moogle later. Now, where was I? Right. Four… Five…” counting resumed of possible places trouble makers would think to congregate. Though, could he really sell his fellow hell risers out? Eh, he’ll see when the time comes.

“Think that just about c- hello there.” He took a few steps back before completely passing the open door to the Nurse’s Office. Was someone already causing trouble this early? Joy. He strolled right up to it and leaned in doorway against the frame. A yawn escaped him once more as someone spoke up.

“If you aren’t seeking any immediate medical attention, I suggest you take your leave.”

The red head glanced at the individual. “Damn, so this who they got for the nurse? Not a bad choice.” He gave a low whistle and pushed body off the frame and walked in. “Now why would I do that when we’ve hardly just met?” the nurse didn’t seem amused by him in the slightest. In fact she looked irritated, among other things with him. That wouldn’t be a first to be honest, it didn’t take much for him to irritate anyone. “The name R-”

The woman instantly cut him off. “Reno Sinclair, Security, was a model student who did more than just stir up a little trouble here and there during their youth. I know you very well. If you will, GET OUT.” with those final words Reno was unceremoniously removed from the nurse’s domain and nearly kicked out the door with the door slamming shut behind him.

“The hell? Did she do background check on me?” the back of his head was rubbed in confusion. The nurse didn’t even give her name. Tsk, he’ll find out one way or another. Probably should have tried to memorize the names on that list. Hmm… There was always time to do it later. Before the he could turn away from the building the door opened.

“It’s Arecia.” door slammed shut once more.

Silence was the only thing that greeted him after that. Eyes blinked. “Okay now…” he was baffled by the woman’s behavior and decided to leave this alone… for now. There were other parts of the school that had yet to be explored anyway, off he went.

“Hey now…” something instantly caught the red head’s attention and headed in that direction.

Location: A farm Interaction: Luneth, Some blonde guy (Cloud)

╔═════════════════════════════════════════╗

Chocolate hues opened slowly and stared up at the ceiling just for a moment. The brunette male sighed softly. Once again, he'd woken up minutes before his alarm could go off. He lay for a moment longer, wondering why he felt apprehensive, and suddenly remembered. They were traveling today!

He rolled out of bed in a hurry, showered and dressed before anyone else was up, and began checking. He checked his things twice, making sure everything was packed that needed to be. It was all set. He had made sure of it last night, but it paid to be safe. He had even persuaded Luneth to pack the night before so they wouldn't be scrambling to get ready before it was time to leave, or at least he had tried to persuade him. Arc wasn't sure if he had actually done it.

Three hours later, the two were on their way. Topapa and Nina had sent them off, Butterflies took up residence in Arc's stomach as he looked out the window of the train. Excitement and nervousness blended at the thought of their destination and the other who would be inhabiting them. Would he fit in? Would he get bullied for being a senior at such a young age? He pushed the thought from his mind as best he could and turned his attention to the book in his hands.

Somehow or another their destination had eluded them once they changed transportation from a train to a bus, and then from a bus to on foot. They were lost. Arc looked at his hands in frustratoin. The bus stop marker wasn't too far from the school. Unfortunately they hadn't gone directly to it. The town looked so nice, and he thought the walk would clear his head a little. Instead, Luneth had wanted to look around as well, and neither one realized until after the bus had pulled away that their map had gone with it, riding along in their now-vacant seat.

"I can't believe I forgot the map," he said sulkily, watching his shuffling feet on the concrete.
They were heading down a paved road, with rolling fields on either side; presumably the right direction, as a series of large buildings loomed off in the distance. A large group of apple trees came into view on their right, advertising their delicious fruit in a gentle breeze. "Want to stop and rest for a bit?" he asked, hopeful. As if offended that there could be any other option, his stomach growled. There was no fence visible, so he made his across the field and selectively plucked an apple from a lower branch. It was delicious, and he savored it as he sat down.

When Luneth was ready, they moved on again. He noticed now, crossing the territory, that it was a farm they were on. They hadn't gotten very far Arc spotted a blonde man in an open field about fifty yards away. His blood ran cold for an instant as he panicked over being called a thief for the apples. Without waiting for Luneth, Arc broke into a run and stopped before the older boy. "Excuse me, sir! I'm so sorry! I didn't know this was your farm." He reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. "We can pay for the apples. How much do we owe you?"
