Thanks for the tip!! I have never really charted it before so if there is a pattern I haven't noticed it- I suppose it is a great possibility that it may be a big pattern rather than a month-to-month like many women have.

I will have to look in to that, especially after using my OPKs again- I'll see if maybe there's a pattern in my ovulation rather than actual period.

You're welcome. I just know it was something that helped with me. :3
Like I said my period from the word go has been quite irregular and I never really thought anything of it.
Some women get theirs every 28-40 days right on schedule where as one month I'd go 28 days, the next month would be 30 days, I'd skip a month, etc. It's really rather frustrating but once you start to notice a pattern you're a little more prepared for trying. ^ _ ^

Trying to conceive is weird. Practically everyone in my family was an accident. Lol.

Maybe you have PCOS. Look into that.

And why can a 23-year-old be given fertility treatments but a 24-year-old can't get her tubes tied? No fair.

Who told you that? My sister has her tied at 20.

How'd that happen?

She told the doctor she wanted one.

I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time having a child. Is adopting out of the question though? Maybe you can't push a baby out, but you and your husband could both give a wonderful child an amazing home whee Regardless keep trying, and keep an open mind to all the choices you can make I guess :3
We have considered adoption as an option, definitely, but adoption is a very long and very expensive process. If it turns out that conception is just not possible we will have to save up for a while to be able to adopt.

Yup it can be long and expensive crying It's up to the individual(s) to decide if they're up for the process. Well ya...best of luck 3nodding

I don't know, even since my first pap smear when they ask "When was your last period" and I always say "I have an irregular cycle, it's hard to remember," they push me to estimate. They've never made any sort of diagnosis about it.

I am thinking that a year from now if we have still had difficulty becoming pregnant I will see a fertility specialist. I'm terrified, honestly, but I guess it's sort of like going to the dentist hah.... Scary!

If you have a smart phone or tablet, get an app. If not, make a note in your phone. A lot of people have an irregular cycle - as in, it ranges from 20 to 40 days. Going months without mensturating is not a good thing.

Hi. I’m glad I found this thread. smile

I’m 23, 24 in November, and got off birth control in May, so my husband and I have been trying for about 2 months now. My period is 1 week and 1 day late as of today. I took a test the day it was due and 3-4 days after it was a due and both came out negative. I’m afraid to take another test ‘cause I’d rather be disappointed by getting my period, than being disappointed by seeing another negative test! neutral

Anyway, I still have some hope. But, to save myself some disappointment, I keep telling myself that it’s just my period being funky since I’ve only been off birth control for 2 months. I’ve been reading that other women have some really weird cycles for quite a while after birth control. And my mom said she took about a year to get pregnant after stopping birth control, I don't know how her cycles were though. So yeah, I dunno. If I’m not pregnant then I just want my period to come so I can get it over with and try again next month!

I'm not sure when I want to take another test though..
I feel your pain!! Since I'm already irregular it's really just a guessing game... there's no way to tell "Oh, my period is late" so I have to use ovulation prediction and just count how many DPO I am. It's so hard every time I get a negative, and I'll take another, and see negative again.

Lots of sticky baby dust for you sweety!!! Keep us updated!

May I add you to the TTC list?

I thought about starting a notebook to track ovulation days, but I don't want to get myself too obsessed with TTC and stress out; there are cases where women will go months without bleeding but still ovulate, or have a "period" without ovulation. Thanks for the tip sweetie~!

Thanks! Funny thing, actually.. a few hours after I posted that I went to a bank that was nearby a dollar store. As I passed by I couldn't help myself and I just HAD to get my husband to run in and get a test. I couldn't take the waiting anymore, I am way too impatient! I thought I could handle waiting for another week but apparently not! I also thought I could probably deal with some disappointment today if it turned out negative, no big deal I guess.. If I didn't go near the dollar store I probably wouldn't have bought the test.

I'm kinda glad I did, though. The test was positive. Very faint, but positive. I wasn't expecting that so I bought another just to make sure I'm not going crazy, it came out positive too. I guess I should be added to the preggo list instead of TTC, huh?

ohmygod.

Also, I wish you, and anyone else trying to conceive, lots of luck! heart I hope everything goes well. smile

If I've had a lot of unprotected sex does it mean I'm probably sterile? I mean a lot. It's only been with a couple girls but it was almost every day for a few years.

AWH I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU REMEMBER MEEEE. <333
Oh thank you~ e u e <3 Well honestly a lot of times when I was feeling all God-I-hate-art-and-it's-so-difficult-to-get-better, I would just think about how encouraging you always were to me, and I figure if you always believed I could get better, then I damn well could get better. xD

Eh, been basically doing good I guess. c: Starting my senior year of high school next Thursday o: I've been pretty confused about college and life in general lately, but I suppose that's normal for my age, lol.

Also I wish you the best of luck with this whole baby thing. I know you would be a wonderful mother <333
I know I'm probably to young to even imagine the kind of stuff that you've been going through with this, and there's no way I could have any sort of credible advice on this subject, but if it means anything, I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. C: <3

Not necessarily! One of my friends from work was telling me a story about how her and her first husband tried for 8 years to have a baby without luck, but when they divorced he got his new girlfriend pregnant within the year. And she got pregnant with her new husband back to back with her two girls.

Or perhaps you could have a below-average sperm count which makes fertilization a little less likely?

Either way, if you think you have a problem you can get your sperm count done; they should test how fertile you are and everything as well.

        Good luck, hon.
