Hi heart heart

wanted to stop in and say I thought this was a great idea for a support thread 4laugh

I'm not TTC, but Im 21 and was diagnosed with PCOS at age 17.I'd like to have 3 children one day, so I was devastated to learn it may be impossible. I have since come to accept it, and am just waiting for time to tell what happens. I'm on birth control and spironolactone to treat my PCOS at the moment. I've done a lot of art projects revolving about PCOS, and my concerns of being infertile.... As well have done a lot of research on the condition myself.

Also, i wanted to mention,if tests come back for anyone that there's a reason behind trouble conceiving (such as pcos, endometriosis, etc.) as opposed to unexplained infertility, I highly recommend trying to see a specialist in the condition .

I'm from Illinois , and for the past two years I've been seeing a endocrinologist at University Chicago Hospital that specializes in PCOS . It's made a world of a difference, and the doctor is amazing . If anyone is from Illinois and interested , pm me or quote me and I'll give the contact info . There is also a RE/Reproductive Endocrinologist that specializes in PCOS ,at Northwestern Hospital.
Thank you for posting; I'm sorry to hear about your condition, my prayers are with you.

In my head the process I will take after trying for a while will consist of seeing a Gyno, then fertility specialist if necessary, then endocrinologist. I'm not in Illinois but I'm sure there will be some in the city I live near.

Sticky baby dust hun! smile

I'm Sarah and I have a 6 month old baby girl named Sophia. My husband and I tried for 2 years to get pregnant and I did finally in 2011 but at 19 weeks I miscarried due to an incompetent cervix. A year later I was pregnant again with my daughter whom with a lot of bed rest and medical aid I was able to carry her to 39 weeks.

Don't stop trying though! I wish you all the luck. smile
Congratulations!! I love hearing success stories!! <3 And thank you for the baby dust~.

May I add you to the parents list? biggrin

I don't know, even since my first pap smear when they ask "When was your last period" and I always say "I have an irregular cycle, it's hard to remember," they push me to estimate. They've never made any sort of diagnosis about it.

I am thinking that a year from now if we have still had difficulty becoming pregnant I will see a fertility specialist. I'm terrified, honestly, but I guess it's sort of like going to the dentist hah.... Scary!
I'm sure the objective of the fertility doc is to help you try to conceive before they declare you infertile. Don't worry!

Also, I found this blog or something that might help. Lady Stuff
Thank you for posting the link and your support! I will check it out when I get home (at work currently haha!) Not a problem! I hope it helped ease your stress a little bit. I hope everything works out for you! (:

Invisible Bloodsucker

I wish we could switch our uterus to eachother since I have a huge one what means I am very fertile...
I have not really more to say since I prefer being infertile than having the risk of getting preagnant without wanting.
I wish you good luck, tough.

I think it's a challenge to figure out when to ttc #2

I really want all my kids close in age, I have this dream of having the close family I lacked.
I want to be done having kids by the age of 30 (I'll be 23 in 2 months)
And have at least 3, if not more.

I am one of 5 kids, but 3 are 6+ years older than me.
And my little sister is 4 years younger (but we're still best friends!)

My husband and his 4 siblings are all 1-2 years apart. With exception of Olivia who is 8 years old.

Somehow we all managed to have kids close in age (Cyrus has 8 cousins 5 years old and younger)

But with having a toddler I really don't know when will be a good time to have #2. We have it planned for when he's 2, so he'll be a few months shy of 3 if I conceive right away (I'm extremely fertile, but who knows now since I had mirena and 2 different birth controls since I had it taken out.)

I kinda really wish I could have #2 right now though....

I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time having a child. Is adopting out of the question though? Maybe you can't push a baby out, but you and your husband could both give a wonderful child an amazing home whee Regardless keep trying, and keep an open mind to all the choices you can make I guess :3

We have considered adoption as an option, definitely, but adoption is a very long and very expensive process. If it turns out that conception is just not possible we will have to save up for a while to be able to adopt.

I'm sure that it varies between people; how close together in age they want their kids to be and such. My brother and I are 1 week shy of being exactly 2 years apart, where as my husband is the oldest of so many brothers and sisters it's hard to remember. His youngest sibling is 11 years old I believe. Give or take.

My best friend's daughter is 15 months (in about half a week) and they were TTC for 3 weeks before conceiving #2. She went and got it confirmed today, actually.

Oh just wanted to add that I have an irregular period as well. Some months I'd get one and some months I wouldn't which makes TTC very difficult.

What I did was start to keep track of about when I would have had my period and 2 weeks prior would jump my husband at every available opportunity. Lol

It took about a year but it finally happened for us. smile

Just a little tip for you to try. It takes about 2-4 months of monitoring your period before you're able to get it down when it may or may not occur.

Thanks for the tip!! I have never really charted it before so if there is a pattern I haven't noticed it- I suppose it is a great possibility that it may be a big pattern rather than a month-to-month like many women have.

I will have to look in to that, especially after using my OPKs again- I'll see if maybe there's a pattern in my ovulation rather than actual period.

Hi. I’m glad I found this thread. smile

I’m 23, 24 in November, and got off birth control in May, so my husband and I have been trying for about 2 months now. My period is 1 week and 1 day late as of today. I took a test the day it was due and 3-4 days after it was a due and both came out negative. I’m afraid to take another test ‘cause I’d rather be disappointed by getting my period, than being disappointed by seeing another negative test! neutral

Anyway, I still have some hope. But, to save myself some disappointment, I keep telling myself that it’s just my period being funky since I’ve only been off birth control for 2 months. I’ve been reading that other women have some really weird cycles for quite a while after birth control. And my mom said she took about a year to get pregnant after stopping birth control, I don't know how her cycles were though. So yeah, I dunno. If I’m not pregnant then I just want my period to come so I can get it over with and try again next month!

I'm not sure when I want to take another test though..
