"Lily. May I speak with you please?" She heard him before she saw him. Straight ahead, the headmaster stood, smiling. Still, she couldn't forget the discomfort she felt when he had lead Alisha away earlier, and now he was summoning her next. Lily nodded, stepping away from the warmth that Talia's and Riku's presences oddly had given her. She walked alone behind the headmaster.
The headmaster's office was homely. Filled with antiques that weren't uncommon in many of the homes she had visited back home in the country. Many of the older folks really liked old wooden furniture and such. She took a seat where the headmaster invited her and he offered a drink, to which she replied no thanks. Once the pleasantries were done with, the business began.
"Lily, this may seem a little odd, but one of our students is...well...missing. Nathan Belmont." Hearing his name sent a fresh chill down her spine and she turned away, pretending to be distracted by something on his desk. "I know that you and your friends as well as him were near each other in the arena at about the same time. Would you happen to know where he is or when you last saw him?" Lily shrugged. "I haven't seen him in a while. No clue where he's been. I wasn't close to him." Naturally, Lily didn't want to speak about what had happened. She wanted to escape from the office and forget him completely.
"Please, we need to know what's going on. Disappearances may lead the government this way, if not already. I'm trying to find a way to protect the students as much as I can, but I need help. Whatever information will not only save you and your friends, but possibly your family." Lily snapped her eyes to the headmasters. What do you mean my family? What do they have to do with the government?!" Lily indeed did not like the government. She heard the stories about how they tracked, kidnapped, and sometimes even killed gifted people. She had even lived through it. Her own mother, had been taken away. Her father told her she had died, but she remembered everything from when it all happened...
The headmaster seemed to understand her train of thought, her dislike of the government. "The thing is...we don't know what all the government is capable of. If they decide to drag family into it, we would have a lot of problems and more people to be responsible over. Please...anything you know..." She stared into the headmaster's eyes, they pleaded for any help available. He was genuinely despirate for his students' sake. ""Not only that, but...your roommate has also gone missing. We need to be sure he's safe and sound and hopefully just skipping class."
Her eyes went wide and Lily shot up from her seat. "Arthur is missing?! Since when? He was wish me up until right after lunch. He...he took me to class..." Lily sat back down, thoughts of Arthur possibly missing and due to the government no less, swam through her head. She looked to the headmaster, still pleading for answers. He wanted to protect the students under him, and Lily wanted to protect her friends anad her family. She could feel the tears welling in her eyes. This would not be easy to talk about. "I'll tell you what I know, personally."
Lily sat back and sighed heavily. "I've been told that Nathan is dead. I'm not sure if it's actually true, but I haven't seen him around since..." Lily's throat tightened. Come on, keep going she told herself. She cleared her throat and continued, fighting back the bout of emotions trying to break through in the form of tears. "Since day before yesterday..." Lily thought back to that day. Her anger and pain were audible in her voice as it shook while she spoke. "I haven't seen that b*****d since he tried to trap my friend and me in the virtual pods. He tried to do....things to us. We escaped the pods and ran away before he could find us again and bring his virtual fantasies to life." Lily caught herself glaring at the headmaster. He only stared back, shocked. "I don't think my friend's name has to be mentioned, and I would appreciate it if you wouldn't interrogate her. She went through much worse than I did." She looked away and out of a window. The sun shone brightly and the day seemed so nice. It was the opposite of how she felt inside, having to raise the memories of Nathan and what happened to her and Alisha. "Just, leave her out of this, please?" She looked back at the headmaster, tears threatened to overflow and spill but she tried her hardest to contain both the tears and the pain in her voice.
