Chiffon walked quietly along the trail that was dimly lit. She knew there was supposed to be an inn at the end of this trail but she was preoccupied in her own thoughts. She sniffled as she ate her scone. They were good, but not enough for $75. She messed up and now she wasn't sure how she'd be able to stay as long as she planned. Maybe she wasn't ready to travel or go on adventures like she'd always wanted to. She could probably go home, apologize and ask for her old job back. She did like baking anyway maybe that was her call. She wiped her budding tears and sniffled, "Whew, okay Chiffon pull it together. We don't cry over the first bump in the road. We knew this sort of thing might happen, so let's just adjust and figure it out. D-dad wouldn't--- Nnghk!" The tears were hard to fight back now. She stopped and buried her face into her forearm. "Whew, stop. Stop. Okay, whew." She exhaled, wiped her face and took another bite of her scone as she continued her trek up the trail.

Minerva laughed, but most of the sound was eaten up by the music and loud conversations that people were attempting to have around them. Taking his hand she let go of those inhibitions which had leaped into place at their entrance, the heavy bass and electronic sounds moving through her body. Motions fluid she rolled her hips and swayed, arms bent and moving about like branches in the wind she kept a steady beat. Having attended several parties like this before hand Minerva had picked up the ways of the rave culture, which she had become very fond of. Bouncing and shifting about on the balls of her feet she would brush up against Ulysses every so often, grinning playfully she would dance with him, having a great deal of fun.
Miss Chiffon

Chisk waited impatiently as the clerk wrapped the boxes of bread in some sort of binding. It looked like stretched plastic. Whatever it was it would do. The man tied the ends into a bow, which Chiska promptly grasped with a fist and made for the door as quick as he could, stepping out onto the walkway. He looked around to see how far the elf had gotten. He couldn't see her but he could smell her. Where else do visitors stay except at that inn on the hill? He bolted for the trail leading up to the inn. He needed to catch her before she got too close. He ran with his arm outstretched to keep the boxes of bread from bouncing on his legs.

His own movements complimented hers, but he let her move unhindered. His moves resembled a tamed Melbourne shuffle to give them both room to move. He laughed as they danced, most of it lost to the music and crowd but it was clear he was having a great time. When Minerva was close he'd flirt back with a hand on her hip or making eye contact in their close proximity, returning smiles and smoldered glances of attraction.

Chiffon walked with the paper plate swinging freely in her hand as she walked while eating her second scone. She was lost in thought when she heard a kind of bustling approaching and turned to see the source of the noise. Took a moment to spot him in his dark clothes but once the image had processed a thousand thoughts in that moment. Homeless man; Alone; Dark area; Stun gun; RUN! She shrieked and immediately turned to run toward the Inn, "Whaaah! Help! Oh gods! Help!" She ran as fast as she could while fumbling in her purse to produce her Stun gun.

Minerva was lost in the music, shifting and swaying about as she ran fingers through her hair, deep in the groove. She could feel the people around them, the heat they all gave off, the pulse of their hearts as intoxicating as the music itself. Meeting Ulysses' gaze there was a glint of primal hunger in those opal orbs as they trained on him, her form inched closer as they danced, breath soft and airy. Snaking arms around his shoulders she continued to bounce on the balls of her feet, conforming to his movements enough to avoid any crunched toes.

His own movements became more controlled as she approached to make room as she put her arms around his shoulders. He placed his hand on her waist as they became closer. He drank in her gaze, his own eyes showing deep interest. His smile was subtle, allowing himself to dance closer still, being wrapped up in Minerva's arms. He stayed in time with Minerva's bouncing, watching her in the club's sporadic lighting.

s**t. Chiska heard the screaming, now realizing how this might have looked in the dark. She must not have recognized him. He caught up to the fleeing elf easily, reaching to grab her arm to spin her around to face him. His mass would not be affected much by her stun gun "Stop your squealing little one, it's me from the bakery! Stop squirming... you." What the hell was her name again? Damn it. "I want you to relay a message for me. There is a man that is staying at that inn, you can't miss him. He wears an obnoxious amount of red, blonde and talks like a snake. Tell him: Banishing a bear to its den only makes it hibernate. How it awakes is by your words and choice." He brought his head down to look her in the face. "Now repeat it so I know you'll remember."

Chiffon ran as quick as she could but could not outrun her pursuer. She had barely managed to pull out the stun gun when she was turned toward the forest man. "Let me go! Let me go!" Using her free arm, Chiffon used her stun gun on the burly arm that held hers to try and escape, but after a few tries it seemed hopeless. She knew exactly who it was, that's part of the reason she was so terrified. He was a crazy homeless person in her eyes. After some struggle she had settled some, still pulling and leaning as far from her attacker as she could, but no longer fighting as her arm hurt under his grip. She listened with a look of confused disgust. "Wha... what?" Chiffon leaned her head back further as he leaned forward, still keeping eye contact, as she was asked to repeat his odd phrase. She stammered for a moment, "Uh, w-when a bear's..." After a moment her face went from uncomfortable fear to angry defiance. "A bear is easier to catch sleeping." And with that she attempted to jam her stun gun into the brute's neck.
Miss Chiffon

Chiska looked at the elf expectantly. She seemed to be having trouble remembering. He knew this didn't look good, nor was he surprised by her reaction. "No no no, not when a bear sleeps, not even close. Banishing a bear. Banishing." When her expression changed and she ad-libbed her own line he raised an eyebrow. "No that's still wro--- HRNKSH!" When her stun gun hit his neck his vision exploded into fireworks and he could hear nothing but steady ringing. His instinct was to swing with his other arm, bread and all. He let go of the fiesty elf to clutch his throat. The force of his swing, coupled with the disorienting pain he was experiencing, rocked him over by its momentum, falling onto the boxed breads the dust of the little road. He head was numb and he blinked hard on the ground, propping himself quickly to look for the elf. He began to push himself to standing, his anger flaring. "Curse you, you mite of repugnant heritage! Elven mix-borne! Mutt of dirtied blood!"

Chiffon squealed when he made that terrible sound when she stun gunned him. The blind swing of the bread boxes toppled her to the ground. "Oof!" She lost the stun gun and her purse somewhere but she quickly stood and made to get away... that is until he started spouting off those hurtful things. So he could tell in the bakery. She turned on her heel back to the fallen giant in quick steps, face reddening, angry with tears in her eyes. "This is the thanks I get for helping the homeless!?" Her last step to Byron quickly turned into a wind up of her right leg to kick at his face and stomach, losing her shoe in the process. Her voice was high and exasperated, "You. Ignorant. Jerk!" She punctuated with quick kicks at him before turning again to run for the inn without looking back.
Miss Chiffon

Chiska heard Chiffon go down and attempted to get a hand on her in his anger, but his sight was still blurry from, what he suspected, a busted vessel. She was already up and coming back at him, but he didn't see her until her stockinged leg kicked out at him. The first couple kicks were glancing and hardly anything against his frame. "Who the [********] said I was home--- Buh!" The kick at his face planted itself right on his nose. He wasn't injured but it really smart. He rolled to face away while he stood, not needing anything else flying at his face while he got his bearings. By the time he was standing the little fireball had already turned to run up the path. He stood there in the pathway wriggling his nose and blinking to get his head on straight. He rubbed the bridge of his nose with his thumb and index finger in thought. Where the hell did all that come from? There was a lot more to that little elf than he ever would have assumed. She wasn't strong, but she was a fighter. He smiled to himself, he decided he liked her spirit.

Chiska stooped to pick up his bread boxes. They were heavily smashed from his own weight. He'd still eat it of course, but he'd eat it with a toast to Chiffon for making him earn it. Chiska looked a little ways off and saw something alongside the side of the path. Did a loaf of bread fall out? He walked over and picked it up. Oh, it was Chiffon's purse. It didn't seem to have opened up and spilled but he searched the ground anyway. Not too far off was her shoe as well. He put the shoe in the purse and took one last look at the inn. His stomach growled and so he walked back into the forest.

Her eyes closed as she hugged him briefly, then released him from her grasp as the music picked up again in a frenzied beat, arms all around went up into the air as sound was converted into physical movement. Minerva joined the waving of arms, giggling to herself as she enjoyed the energy being given off by all the dancers.

After a couple more songs she reached out for Uly's hand to guide them towards a nearby staircase that would take them to an open loft style lounge, the walls and ceiling were all black, dotted throughout with 'stars' of varying color. Recognizable Terran constelations were done up in standard white LEDs, though to anyone who paid attention there was a second set of lights, softer red LEDs that were in patterns alien to everyone save Minerva.

The blue capeted floor was furnished with black stained wood upholstered in soft navy velvet, chairs, couches and the like. It almost looked as though the whole place had just been thrown together, but that was an appeal Minerva had intended. The music was faded considerably, a simple place to catch a breather between rounds. She showed Ulysses over to an unoccupied couch and took a seat, resting her head back she breathed deeply and gave a satisfied sigh.

Once he was released and the music picked up he raised his arms to join in the sea of arms. He laughed while he danced to the music. He seemed to be getting more into it the more they danced to the changing songs. When Minerva clasped his hand he looked to her almost like he was snapping out of a spell. He followed her up the staircase and into the lounge.

"Ah, it's so much cooler in here. I didn't know how warm it was in there until now."

He exhaled as he took a seat next to Minerva, he took out a handkerchief and wiped his forehead. He put the handkerchief away and rested his elbow on the back of the couch and his head on his hand.

"It's easy to lose yourself in there. That must mean its working." He smiled. "You've really taken to dancing. I'm not familiar with this rave culture, but it's exhilarating. Heavy beats brings something animal out."

Chiffon ran up to the front door of the inn, placing her hand on the door's handle. Only then did she look back to see if she was followed. She wasn't sure what was worse, seeing an angry crazy man running after her, or finding only silence and darkness beyond the treeline. He did say he lived in the forest. A shiver went up her spine. That maniac could be anywhere and watching. She pulled open the door and entered the well lit lobby. She sighed in relief and looked around for someone that could help her. She was dusty with some muddy streaks on her face where tears and sweat ran down. Chiffon pushed some hair behind her ear and patted herself down to try and regain some presentability. Walking on the smooth floors and rugs made her aware of a pain in her foot that wasn't protected by a shoe as she ran up the path with a soreness in her ankle that made her limp some.
