'The truths that we all try to hide are so much clearer when it's not our lives'

Azanure came out from a back room, his left hand ruffling up the hair at the back of his head as he idly scratched at his scalp. It was his first day on the job, but he didn't have any pre-working jitters. After all, he knew he could work a bar. The man was tall, just short of six feet, and bordering on skinny. He wore a plain black shirt with a shallow V neck, black jeans, and black converse. A leather belt was hidden under the hem of his shirt, serving more as an accessory than a necessity around his narrow hips. A leather cuff bracelet adorned his left wrist, and a number of black rubber bracelets decorated his right. His left eye was covered by a black patch, which had two thin pieces that crossed the other side of his face. His right eye scanned the club, a spark of interest in the red hue. The three silver hoops in his right cat-like ear caught the light as he moved, glinting a little.

Oh yeah. That's right. He had cat ears, and he also had a tail the same color that hung lazily behind him. If he turned around, one would see the tail, and they might notice the pack of cigarettes and the silver lighter tucked in his left back pocket, but he wasn't smoking now. He had forgotten to ask Bishop whether he permitted smoking inside.

He had just stationed himself behind the bar when four men came up within minutes of each other. He took a breath, and approached each one in order, greeting them with some variation of "What can I get you?"

[.:OoC: I asked Hero about bringing in a new employee, so, let's just pretend he interviewed already >>;; You guys at the bar, feel free to reply ^^ :.]

Makar entered the place once more clad in the same attire as last time. His eyes stared about as he walked through the crowd and made his way to the bar. This was a man that people allowed to pass unmolested. His colors alone were enough that people wouldn't mess with him. They may not always rolled deep, but The Front of Armament always backed those who were ambushed and revenge would be taken in spades. A small smirk formed across his lips as he saw Bishop and some women. His head shook as he held up a finger. A drink would shortly be coming his way.

When he returned, Jinsoku wasn't distracted by his bvout any longer. And like a fish out of water, Makar was flagged for the jacket that seemed oh so familiar to him. It was James' jacket, or an exact replica. With a smirk, it would answer his question as to why he hadn't seen James around as much after that throwdown in front of The Black Cherry. In fact, that is where he remembered the man in the jacket from. Sounded like a really nice guy, though he was just as ferocious as a jungle cat.

"Yo, Mak'! How 'bout it, we go a round in the pit, loser buys drinks for the night yeah!?"

H
is already somewhat druynken self made bet. And makar seemed like the type to gamble and/or fight with any chances or reason given.

Makar's green eyes would fall upon the man before him and just slowly nod before he'd turn around from the bar and shove his hands into his pockets. He wouldn't bother getting a drink and would use that as an advantage in the coming fight. The man before him was already tipsy and reactions wouldn't be perfect the entire time and that alone brought a nice small smile to Makar's features as he'd brush past the man. Honestly, it had been a while since he'd seen this guy and he wanted to know where his strengths lay.

Regardless, he'd make his way to the pit his body wedging and shoving people out of the way as he made his way downstairs until he got to the pit and opened it up. His leather jacket being taken off and thrown on top of the cage. He'd chuckle, he wasn't as tattooed or even intimidating as most people who spilled blood in this place and it was amusing to him. Despite it all, he still had respect and it was all just because of that jacket he wore.

"So, we going to tap or knock out or first blood, friend?"

"So, we going to tap or knock out or first blood, friend?"

Jinsoku followed him down, using his path as an easier means to navigate through the crowds. As they entered the pit, he too discarded his track suit jacket, exposing his naked torso, and the fresh boxer's tape stretching from his knuckles to about half way up towards his elbows. His charcoal eyes already carried a look that screamed determination, and his smile expressed his joy in the happening. That girl he fought ealier in this club barely got past the warm-up phase. James knocked him out too quickly for him to realized how serious he could have been. Instead of trying to be some showcase loser.

"Sounds good. Except the 'First Blood' part. Drop that, it'll make this too short of a match."

H
e didn't tease nor speak with arrogance. It sounded and was strickly informative. Naturally leading with his right, in a traditional boxer's guard, he would raise on to the balls and bounce a few times. shadowboxing for a few seconds just to stretch and get his heart going. This wasn't going to be an easy fight, but it would be a short one. He just had a feeling. As the crowd became stoked for another showdown, Jinsoku took the honor of approaching Makar, at a steady pace. It wouldn't take long to close the distance between them, and he doubted Makar would just wait for him. His aura screamed out in ways the naked eye could not see. But Jinsoku could feel it...As if it was a distrubance in his Qi.

Makar would merely nod as he stood there. His fists slowly coming up in a guard position as he watched and waited. The man before him was a trained fighter that much was obvious from previous encounters and Makar was just a street thug. Though, one would see which would come out on top as he suddenly did a quick left jab to test the waters as he stepped in. Right into the maelstrom that was about to erupt between the two people. Let's see how Jin would deal with a man that grew up in the Underhives. Where literally anything went. There would be no morals on Makar's end with this fight.

Breaking the ice was always the hard part, though once the first punch was actually thrown, it made the rest of the match up fluid and balanced so to speak. As sure as Makar would be of the first punch not hitting, Jinsoku was sure his first punch wouldn't land either. However, he merely had to set the mood before switching his mode of combat to his rare combination of abilities. His deceptive fighting did not work on everyone, but it worked on most. He never had a need to use the trick more than a couple times in a single match. Otherwise everybody would know about it and talk about it. Informing the competition of the ace up his sleeve. With a simply lean of his upper body to his own right, he dipped just enough to allow the fist to pass him. Though as he would return to position, his upper body torqued as he rolled his shoulder, dedicating his right fist to a fierce hook for Makar's kidney. Just below his left rib cage.

Makar would be missed by the thrown punch as he went ahead and suddenly excelled forwards. That meant that if Jin wanted to he could just wrap him up in a nice bear hug and suplex him. Well, if he wasn't contending with the sudden jab straight to the man's throat as he was within easy range. It wasn't a move most people would attempt especially when a man only had to tug his chin, but that's why it was the starting of Makar's one two. If the man tucked his chin Makar's right fist would come in with a hook to slam straight into the man's temple area. Rock the slith out of that brain cavity.

Cicily turned to Elesana and nodded to her. “What a beautiful name.” she said as she looked at the two. She had no clue what had gone on between the two, all she knew was that she was a friend of Bishop’s. She smiled as she looked around, speaking of friends, she wondered where Jay was. She shrugged it off, as she felt the warmth leave her side, and smiled as she watched Bishop start to help them to drinks. She nodded over at Zane as he entered, and started to help the other guests. Pulling the hem of her shorts down a little, she headed over to the bar, and sat down. Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she looked at the other woman. “So which tournament did you all fight in together?” she asked as she grabbed up her pitcher of water, and poured herself another glass. Sipping the refreshing beverage, Cicily was glad that she was here in this place. Things were working so well. She looked over at the man who had come to help her with her own life, and who knew (almost) everything about her. She still had to figure out when to tell him about her new powers. She looked up when she forgotten that Elesana had asked how long they have been together. Cicily had to think about that one, "Honestly, I couldn't tell you. Ever since I stumbled upon the Carnival awhile back, we hit it off, and I guess we have been together since we laid eyes on each other." she said as she sipped her water.

Elesana smiled and thanked CiCi for the compliment on her name. She followed the blonde to the bar but didn't sit down. She didn't feel like sitting down just yet, not with some of her fight high still in her. When CiCi asked, Elesana told her, "The tournament was at Hell's Stride. It was my first one, but it was pretty interesting. And I ended up with some training after it, too." Sana tucked her hands into her hoodie pocket as she spoke. Her eyes wandered briefly to the bartender, flickering over him and registering that he was a pretty cute neko. Her attention returned to her blonde companion as she asked curiously how long they had been together. Something had been bothering her a little, just under the surface of her thoughts.

And that explained it.
Her lips parted a little as her eyebrows knitted together a bit. 'A while'? 'A while' was longer than two weeks to just about everyone. A small knot of guilt sunk in her stomach, though it was unnoticed compared to the rising heat of anger in her chest as the pieces suddenly clicked. Bishop had cheated on his girlfriend, and he had used Sana to do it. That b*****d. If CiCi was watching the redhead's face, she would notice the anger creeping into her features, especially showing in her green eyes that looked past CiCi. Her hands curled into fists, hidden by her hoodie pocket, and her jaw was set and tense.

Elesana turned to Bishop when he came up to them and asked if they wanted a drink. She looked up at him with a glare. "No," she practically spat. "No, I ******** don't, you... you... a*****e." Her words were clipped and biting as she threw the words at him in her anger. She couldn't believe this. Was this a joke? Was this some ******** game she didn't know about? Her hands withdrew from her pocket, and though tension was visible in her posture, she tried to relax. Her right hand rose up, and she pointed at him as she continued. "You cheated on your girl. You ******** cheated on your girl. With me, you complete ..." She couldn't even pick the most appropriate insult - a*****e? d**k? douchebag? - and she replaced it with a frustrated, incoherent exclamation, throwing her hands up. She looked at him again, anger rolling off of her. Shaking her head with contempt, she told him, "I can't believe you...You need to ******** off."

She turned to CiCi, some of the anger in her expression replaced with something else. Perhaps CiCi would recognize it as guilt. Sana hadn't known about CiCi at all, but it didn't change the fact that Sana had been the girl Bishop cheated on her with. She couldn't hold CiCi's blue gaze, and her eyes lowered as her head turned to the side a little. She swallowed hard and made herself look up again. "I'm sorry. I didn't know." Despite the angry undertones in her voice, the apology was genuine. With one last glare at Bishop, Sana turned to leave. She wanted to get as far from here as she could.

Jinsoku's hook missed, though he wasn't going to let that stop him from anything. His opponent got closer. This was something Jinsoku wasn't use to in his world of fighting. Tact and skill was everything. But as far as he could tell, Makar was reckless, yet primal. His carefree way of fighting was simply faith in his own ability. Jinsoku could admire that. Though in his current position, regardless of Makar's next move, he would be rolling his left shoulder, moving his left fist down, forward, and up, into an uppercut. In his recovering/rising action for his previous position, the fist wouldn't place it's mark on his throat, but it did purchase impact into Jinsoku's chest. Though healed by magic, Jinsoku was briefly reminded of the Djinn that caved his chest in while defeating him at GTB. No way he would make the same mistake again. Not like the single punch was enough to do it anyway, just a reminder. If Makar continued with the course of his one two, he would more than likely catching this one straight to the chin. But if he abandoned that second punch, he would easily be capable of reacting. Hopefully he would answer with another jab or straight. This was where Jinsoku was setting up for his first devastating blow.

As Elesana visibly grew angry, he was confused as to why. And then, she started to babble angry none sense at him. Cheated? Bishop cheated? No...No he didn't? Cici's words were true, completely. However, their relationship was never a formal thing in the past, nor was it constant. Cici always left, but she always came back. And since the first time she ever showed up at the carnival, it was love at first site. Her appearance, her sudden leaving often creating mystery. It was almost like a movie. Where the undercover agent falls in love with the lowly criminal thug. True two weeks ago he kissed Elesana and even tried to get her in the sack. Though all it really was was a kiss, and it was while Cici was gone and had been gone for some time. But now she was back and he was working on making that permanent. Now things were getting formal. The worry came when he wondered how Cici would react to her words. Only because Bishop was a man willing to explain himself, but he didn't feel a need to ever. As Elesana turned and began to leave, Bishop would set his beer on the counter and call out to her.

"Elesana wait! Ya' don' understand!?"

P
erhaps it would further insult her for him to try and explain. It would reveal that he though she was hot, and he wanted to hit that, but he has no interest in a relationship with her. Or at least that's how he felt two weeks ago. Other than on a business level or friendship one, he sought no relations with her past the physical aspect. He was a man, yes. And out of her mental insults, the right word would have been d**k. Because in this world, there were three kinds of men. Assholes, Pussies, and Dicks. And Bishop would easily accept being called a d**k, because they ******** the other two types constantly. Coming around the bar, he would watch to see if Sana would leave or stay before he would turn to face Cici. He did need to see her reactions and pan all this s**t out.

'It's only after we've lost е ʋ е r y т н ɪ η ɢ

Elesana whirled around at his words, a figurative snarl curling her lips. "I don't understand what, Bishop?" she asked, her voice rising as she stepped towards him. She obviously didn't mind or didn't realize the scene this was causing in the club. She didn't notice the bartender watching with a raised eyebrow. This needed to be sorted out. Goddammit, she was already tired of s**t happening with guys.

"What don't I understand?" she rephrased. "What, is kissing another girl suddenly not cheating? Did I miss the ******** memo? News flash, a*****e," she spat, holding her hands up suddenly and wiggling her fingers in a sarcastic gesture. "Kissing someone else, trying to get in their pants, when you have a girlfriend? That's [******** cheating." She ran a hand through her bangs, very pissed off. How dare he drag her into this? Why the ******** did he have to bring her in to this whole mess and kiss her when he was dating someone? Why the hell wasn't he with CiCi that night like he damn well should've been?

"I can't ******** believe you," she said more quietly now. "I can't believe I let you in my house. I never should've ******** trusted you," she said with a dangerously calmer tone.

Cicily smiled as she listened to her, that tournament was the one where she was holed up in a jail cell somewhere in an unknown county. She leaned on the counter, sipping the water in the cup. Reaching over, she filled up the pitcher once more, and poured some more into the cup. Looking up to speak to Elesana once more, she noticed something changing in the other woman’s features. She blinked, and looked startled for a second. Was she ok? Cicily went to go touch her arm, when the woman just turned on Bishop. Startled, Cicily stood up, and backed away from the two. What was going on? Reaching over to Bishop, she then heard the words a*****e. About to give the woman a talking to, she heard the words that she never thought she would hear. Bishop had cheated on her. She blinked, the glass she held in her right hand seemed to just explode, shattering pieces of glass everywhere. She looked between Bishop and the girl. The woman was going on about how she can’t believe him, and that he needed to just ******** off. She blinked, her hand shaking, uncaring about the pain that now was seizing her hand.

Cicily shook her hand, the glass that had been trapped in her grasp, dropping to the floor. She turned to the both of them, her eyes now spilling with tears. She had no idea what to think. Wanting the floor to just swallow her up, and try to forget those words that were spoken. She reached up, running her blood soaked hand through her hair. Her eyes were a silvery color, not her normal soft sky blue color. She turned as she looked at the woman, her eyes seemed to have glazed over. She vaguely heard the words that she was sorry, and she didn’t know. Most of the time when people were getting to know someone, they would be like, “Hey, I have a significant other.” She blinked as she was about to tell this woman to get out of her sight, at least until she calmed down. Then Bishop made the mistake of calling her back. She whipped her head around, who was she to him? Cicily didn’t notice that her left hand was slowly starting to grow slightly paler. The pitcher had been knocked over, and was now starting to puddle around her hand.

Cicily just watched the two, utter silence. If someone looked at her, they wouldn’t recognize her. Her perfectly groomed blonde hair was disheveled, the side of her face covered in her own blood, her right hand had blood dripping from it, and her eyes had seemed to grow almost cold. If someone had looked at the bar, the water around her hand would be starting to frost over, as if winter set in. Cicily breathed out, cool wisps of air showing now. The breath was crisp, like one would breathe out during the coldest of winters. Raising her hand, she signaled for everyone to stop talking. Her left hand was now coated in ice, traveling up just past her elbow. She spoke, her voice almost eerily calm, “So let me get this straight. While I was holed up in a jail cell somewhere, you were off, trying to get into some girl’s pants?” she spoke up, her voice dripping with ice. She rested her hand back on the bar, her fingers slowly starting to swirl the frozen ice together, as it wrapped itself around her hand like a snake twisting its way around a branch of a tree.

Turning to the other woman, she leveled her gaze at her. She didn’t want to fight the woman, but all her senses were telling her to take the ice gauntlet in her hand and smash it in the woman’s face. “You say you didn’t know. Maybe it wouldn’t have hurt to ask maybe?” she said, her eyes flashing at her. She had to calm down; her breathing was starting to come in shorter. She was hurt, she was betrayed. What was she going to do now? Was she going to go back to the mansion, and just say screw everything and go back to the Carnival? She ran her right hand through her hair once more, sharp red colors streaking through her blonde hair. She just couldn’t picture them together, Bishop, the man she loved, trying to get into someone else’s bed. She let out a hurt cry, and slammed her left hand down onto the bar. Ice went everywhere, and a good part of the bar, fell to the floor. Within seconds, the ice was gone, her skin had taken on a pale blue tint to it, and her eyes were almost white. She blinked, tears slowly coming down her face. They left a frost trail down her cheeks as she looked at them.

Cicily had no idea what to do. Was it her fault because she wasn’t around enough? Were they never really that serious, or were they just a live in thing? She let herself slowly sink to the floor. Her legs were splayed out, glass cutting into one leg, and the other leg resting on the debris of the bar. She curled her legs up to her chest, some of the glass leaving cuts along her calf. She held onto her knees, her eyes slowly going back to their color, water dripping from her fingertips. She closed her eyes, tears spilling down her cheeks, and all she wanted to do was curl up in a ball, and let everything just be a bad dream.

Elesana turned her gaze to CiCi, her expression bordering on incredulous. She did not just say that. Elesana's lips tugged upwards in a wry expression. "Whoa," she said before giving a small 'heh' of a laugh. She held up a hand. "Stop right there. You are not hanging the blame for this on me. It's your ******** boyfriend who came to me. Not my ******** fault he kissed me and kept trying. Maybe you should ******** talk to him and blame him. It's not my job to ask, it's his ******** job to know better." It won't ******** happen again," she assured. This time, when she turned around, she kept walking.

At the sound of CiCi's cry and a crash, Elesana stopped and half turned to look, one hand on the door. Angry green eyes watched the girl sink to the floor, but Sana refused to care. Normally, she would've helped, but not now. She wanted to blame Sana for something? She could blame her for this.

And with that thought, she pushed the door open and strode out.
