Ohmanohman.
i can't remember the anime i used to watched that came on after school everyday on Toonami after Hamtaro.
The robots were... animals and dinosaurs and they had.. feelings? I don't know.
The main character had a special "power" where he can connect with his robot(which was a lion?).
I make it sound lame, but
I loved that show.

Kind of sad really but hey if people prefer that shoujo s**t about bishounen's, yaoi, or god forbid those tsundere loli's more power to them.

It's just disappointing not many people actually post about Mecha anime. Well...Topics about something other then Gundam...I mean damn so it's a meta-series and there's a new one every couple or years, depending if there are two seasons or not...

The fact of the matter is I would love to see people discussing Super robot animes like Mazinger or rather Mazinkaiser SKL, anything from the brave series, Godannar, hell even GunxSword I thnk is a super robot anime.

Again I'm not a super robot fanboy.....Well okay I am but I do have much love for the real robots.

Well it looks like you haven't watched Neon Genesis Evangelion yet. Watch that first, then you'll see that all other robot shows are s**t.

If you hate the bayformers then just G1 or Beast wars. Those are pretty much the golden ages of transformers.

What about Super Robot Wars?
That is a good super robot anime.
Lots of super robots that come in different shape and sizes.
Loved it when Ryusei use the HBT Cannon while yelling ichigeki Muteki no Hissashu Ho! (Invinsible One hit Sure Kill Cannon!)

I take it you never played the game to know how badass the kicks is.
Also why leave out the other characters best attacks for the sake of our "main" .(but he did he ******** REVOLVER STAKEEEuh!!!, his evil counterpart)

Played the GDA and PS2 versions and I know how badass the kick was.
But I still prefer one big cannon used by a giant robot piloted by an otaku compared to a cool, macho army guy who kicks his opponents around.
Kyousuke didn't yell his moves as often as Ryusei.
