Oh wow! So the way my Mother and I took care of our goldfish back in the day would be really similar! We had a ten gallon tank that we changed the water in every week and we checked the ph levels (back then I didn't know why because I was a kid) and stuff in! We had those fish for five years until we brought home one from the fair and it passed along some fish illness that killed them all. (We didn't know much about fish illnesses back then.) Alright, I think your right though, this fish sounds like the fish for me when I get my own place! (It actually sounds like less trouble than the rabbit will be....I usually own rabbits but was thinking I'd like to own more than one type of pet when I get my own place so that it would keep me busier.)

Well I won't be able to have one til I finish school but since they are fascinating to me and I am seriously considering it, please feel free to go on about anything you think is important. I think the smaller species are probably going to be best suited to my lifestyle since my future home is going to be pretty small if I get my way about things.

Hi, noticed you seem to know a lot about fish based on your post in the forums and I was wondering if you could tell me about pleco's? They are my favorite fish but I was always nervous to own one because fish seem like a really intimidating pet for someone who's used to guinea pigs and rabbits.
