Summer fun Almost every July 4th weekend I had been away because of AX. This year is the first year in many years that I get to stay home, and enjoy fireworks at a local park. Who doesn't love fireworks? Well that would be Strider our German Shepard. He get super scared by fireworks and he figured out how to open our bedroom door just to hide in the bathroom. biggrin Also got to watch Spiderman Homecoming last week, and it was fantastic! I'm happy that all Spiderman fans get to watch a great Spiderman movie once again. Last week's emergencies include: - More android app payment issue - I was 99% done with the new payment gateway but AX happened and the new code was never submitted - Even more database query problem! - Some inventory queries were still taking way too long to process. Have to do more optimization. Found out that there's a bug with Journal archiving, and it would try to update the archive on every page load. That's another fix that required heavy lifting. - BBCODE disabled for gifting and friend request notifications - There had been abuse issues where inappropriate or phishing related images had been included with these requests, so it need to be disabled now. This is why we can't have nice things! In progress: - New inventory tools - Mainly the ability to sort by name, item networth, and time item is added to inventory. This is a tricky feature for enabling sorting could ruin customized orders that were setup. To sort yet not touch the custom order is possible, but very, very slow for big inventories (20,000+ items). At the end I'll probably need to add some feature to take snapshots of inventories so people can switch back and forth. - New BBCODE - The requested spoiler tag button and a table feature is in the works, and we are adding a new BBCODE for handling currency. This way if you say "1,000,000,000 gold" it can be displayed as "100 platinum" depending on the receiving party's settings.

Wonderful things in the works! heart That inventory snapshot idea will definitely make the different sort modes more attractive to use!

I saw your mention of adding BBCode about the new currency in a prior AtS, and couldn't imagine what that might be. BBCode for contextually displaying Gold or Platinum is actually really genius! Would it look like {coin}1,000,000,000{/coin}? If it's anything like that I definitely hope it can accept commas...

And I have some experience with dogs being terrified of fireworks. Poor Strider... heart sweatdrop Quick, to the Bathtub of Invincibility! xd

Oh, poor Strider- I have a phobic hound, myself, and it's a struggle because she loves park outings. Rest in peace.

Definitely want to sort by item worth while protecting my custom sorting, and don't care if it takes awhile similarly to the worth calculator. Maybe it could work if, like the worth calculator, it preserves the sort for a certain amount of time, but moved/sold/new items are foisted to the end until the user manually triggers the sorting again? Just trying to think of ideas of how we could have the feature even if it took extra time to optimize it.

Sounds like lots of interesting work!

Honestly, I wouldn't want to sort my invo by price. I have my invo sorted so I can FIND things. I want a separate page that lists maybe the top 1000 most expensive items in order. And maybe another separate page that lists all the items that currently have no listings on the mp. But I don't want this function to be mixing up my items in my inventory.

Also, THANK YOU! The wishlist check marks finally work! I've always wanted this feature to be able to gift people things they want and realize I have things I didn't think I did before. This is an amazing feature and I thank you for tracking down the bug with the sparkles. emotion_hug emotion_bigheart

I'm excited to hear about sorting by time acquired, and it not affecting the way I've organized my items. o wo
I'm mostly hoping that this will be extended to dress up... at least at a future date.
When I make outfits, I usually want to use items that I recently bought. I've always wished that I could click a button and the order of my items (in dress up) would appear in reverse.
I know, it's not a big deal, but it does get annoying to keep scrolling to the bottom of a tab, orrr having to click to the next page in a tab and have to scroll all the way to the bottom. XD The time it takes to load it all does add up and would be nice to just see those items at the top of the first page of my tabs.
I know, I can just manually sort my newly bought items to the top of my inventory temporarily, but that is also a hassle. ;D

Anyway, thank you for the update on all your great work! c:

Thank you Lanzer for all your hard work! Can we have RIG/CI updates for the daily stamp cards? so we can address the lack of item listings for cheap unpopular items. like the CI Styles for the warm, dark, cool and light hairs. It would also help deflate a lot of the old items from 2016 2015 2014 and 2013 sweatdrop

I've barely used this account. This was the first time in maybe over a week that I tried to log into it and there isn't even any emails in my inbox as to why it is banned.

I tried to file a ticket and it keeps telling me that 'oops, something went wrong!' neutral

I don't understand what is going on.

Cheers for the update. Im not really worried about item organisation persey, I gave up on that years ago.

The arrange by worth I have to agree with others though. Its not so much display them in a organised inventry ranked in order by worth. As much as just getting a list of the items ranked by worth more as a snapshot itself. (Just like when you click the inventry worth calculator button, a option to click a button and get a worth list would be awesome).

The arrange by date sounds interesting, Mine is still like that in many ways, with the exception of items I have moved to the front for the purpose of the inventory display feature.

I'd prefer to use something for item prices like Castiel Lover said. Like how tektek had not only its own inventory worth page in which you copy and pasted your inventory code, but you could also sort that individual list by price and item name. I know what the most expensive items in my are - I'm looking for the middling stuff I don't want or need anymore. Although having a sorting snapshot option and having an option to sort by added date would work great to counter that... especially since I like having things in the order I got them.

Maybe you could do a little bit of both! That way, people who like to have inventories sorted by their worth could have it their way, AND people who just want to see a sorted list of what's in ventory could have it their way too. I think that'd be even better than just doing one, because you could please everyone!

I'm happy you're taking a break lanzer. you deserved that because you're working hard. please don't overwork yourself. we're being concerned about your health. those bug's don't need rushing, as long as gaia is functioning we're contented. kudos lanzer!

Maybe I'm wrong here, but couldn't we avoid messing up custom sorting if we just didn't hit the save button after we did a sort by, say, price? I know some cases we may actually want to save some areas sorted different than others, but price at least and maybe when we got items seems like something that's more about just taking a look for the time being rather than something we really need to keep our items saved in that order. I like what somebody else said too about having a page to show you which of your items have no listings. Or maybe show items by how many listings there are, from least to most. With limited market place slots available, often one factor that makes me decide what to sell is if it has no listings. I may decide to list some very cheap item I may normally have not bothered with or even thrown in the dumpster just to make it easily accessible if somebody is looking for it. If we had used sorting by when we acquired an item, how would that interact with stacking assuming we got copies of the item at different times? Speaking of stacking, I've wished I could tell my inventory to do something like stack globally except for the first copy or maybe first X number of copies of an item so that I could keep duplicates that I want to sell together, but separate from the one(s) I want to keep that I have sorted where I want them. Right now, either I have to turn off the stacking or move stacks between pages to consolidate them into one stack separate from the original copy that I have sorted where I want it or just deal with having extras I want to sell in with all the nicely custom sorted items I don't want to sell and seeing a whole bunch of extra copies in a row among my custom sorted stuff on my dress up page.

thank you for all your hard work on trying to make large inventories easier to manage.

is it possible to breakdown the sorting to smaller quantities and tab specific? like if i could just choose how many pages [59 pages at once is .... bleh] and which tabs that need work.

ie: i have my zOMG rings and LK kins already "organized", but only need to resort on Paws and Games. ..... etc.

anyways. i like the new options. heart heart
