Whoo! Gillian's a Toddler. I'm so excited to get back to role playing him. xd It was difficult having him behave old enough to still make the rp interesting. Gotta rope in some rp with Gil's old friends and Gah, update his relations c_c;

Febuary 16, 2006 | 9:44AM
Wak, I'm not being inactive, I swear. I'm gonna wait for Gillian to grow before doing anymore large rp's because I feel like I'm making him too mature for an infant and it's a bit akward playing him around his twin after she's grown and all his friends at their current ages xd Poor Gilly's still a runt. Much love to Aylee for working so hard xd

January 07, 2006 | 12:57AM
Another playdate added, it might be cut short because I got to work in the morning but I'll be sure to keep it on hand in case we wanna pick things up. Quite a bit of fun "Out Of Game - In Character RP" or "IC OOC" before the rp along with an interesting picture of Gillian and Lyris butting heads. Hasn't happened but it's an amusing thought. As for my life- really, really busy. Started school again, been working 33 hours a week and half the time it's 12-close so that takes up most my day, leaves me tired, angry, and creativity-sapped at the end of the day.

December 11, 2005 | 7:17PM
Alrighty, all the relations updated, more playdates tracked down, linked to, or copy+pasted into Gil's journal. I think all in-thread Rp's will be logged in here for easy access, that way I don't have to pile though the thread to find where I left off, etc. Work tomarrow, but I get monday-thursday off. ^_^
December 10, 2005 | 2:48AM
Long time before I updated my OC updates. Well let's see, I've made a map for the main front yard of Gabriel's estate, I've done some relations (I know I'm missing Flitch and Cameo at least but I'll get to them), I've managed to track down most of the rp's that I've involved Gillian in and posted them in a calander format with links to the actual rp. It'll help me track events in Gil's life and the staff to track my activity (or inactivity... damn work). I'm planning on drawing up a family portrait or at least a portrait of Gabriel and Gillian's new colt. I really need to get some more playdates out, Gil's starting to get all anti-social again. xd I do best over AIM, if anyone's interested in an rp gimme an im sometime.
September 25, 2005 | 7:09PM
School will be starting up tomarrow. My schedule will be pretty hectic during this time because while attending full time I will also be working for the sandwich shop to pay for this class, my chell phone, and other expenses. I've opened commissions outside of gaia and closed my gaia commissions. I've still a few to finish but all in good time. The only exception I will make to this rule is drawing characters for the halloween event for 10k for a lineart and 20k for a colored work.
I want to play Gillian more, and I apologize to those who I have started playdates with and havn't been able to finish them. I'd like to have someone 'babysit' the boy for a time while his guardian is out to get him a new animal companion.
August 18, 2005 | 1:27AM
I've managed to land a job! This will definately effect my being online as much as I'd like but I need the money to pay for collage. That's coming up in late September for me so by then I hope to have enough to pay for at least four classes and the supplies I'll be needing. It's pleasent enough work- a long shot from where I used to work but with a good .90 less pay. That's just fine though, I get along with my co-workers, the work isn't disgusting, and it's close to home.
In other news, I'll be turning 19 on the 24th this month, I'm not expecting anything grand. I am going to be working from four to close (which is about six hours c_c) so I probibly won't be around that day.
August 02, 2005 | 11:33PM
Finally got some banners up. Just a few sketches of Gillian that I've been doing to take up time and practice a bit. I don't think I'll color them, journals are more sketchy, more random and kind of rough anyway, I think they add a bit of charm. Most of the banners are of Gillian as I think he'll look as he gets older (no this isn't a hint hint to Aylee, she's awesome and I'll be happy with however Gilly turns out). They're all my original art so please ask if you want to use them. I've got all his relations updated, and his calander's more organized as to what's gone on so far with him.
August 02, 2005 | 12:05AM
Got things a bit more organized now, everything from his old journal's been moved, a few things have been updated but still need a bit of updating. The journal still needs banners and I still need to update Chaco's relation pitcher to his teen self. Anyway, Gillian's recieved his first quest! Let's hope we don't screw this up. sweatdrop
July 29, 2005 | 12:30PM
Just setting things up, getting my thoughts organized. I'll have to create some banners and what not to make it more appealing. Please don't post in here, I'm trying to keep it organized as I can. Also keep in mind that my character's opinions aren't always my own and my own opinions aren't always my characters. If something to either effect offends you, please be professional about it both in and out of character.

.:Character Information:.

.:Sin'aesis Introduction::

Name: Gillian
Age: 1 Year, 2 months
Gender: Male
Race: Sin'Aesis
Element: Milk
Personality:
___________________
Infant:
___________________
Gillian is an unusially quiet child. He seems to find comfort in soft, hushed voices rather than louder, excited ones. He doesn''t seem to like too many people crowding him, nor does he seem very playful with the other children. He''s grown already very attached to his creator and his protector. His early meeting with his sister turned out positive results, showing that he highly approved of his sibling. It was perhaps the first time the child laughed and smiled as much as he ever had in his short life - a large releaf to his guardian.

As he's become older he's become horribly intelegent for an infant. Able to speak fairly well through careful instruction by his guardian. This trait has enabled him to express himself a bit more as well as make new friends. He's curious though silent about it, expressing himself mostly with body language. He loves the concept of learning and hearing stories.

He's also begun to realize that he's not much like the other children. His younger twin has become larger than him and many of his friends have grown as well, he's limited in activities because of frail health and doesn't seem to quite understand why yet. He's horribly sensitive about his stature and tends to grow defensively quiet if the topic is brought up.

On the whole he's become friendly, but quiet and a bit shy. With his friends he comes off as clingy, seeking emotional support from them. Dispite all this he is a relitively happy child, smiling often and laughing when's appropreate.

______________________
Toddler:
______________________
As a toddler, Gillian's become more confident in his ablilties. He learned how to walk as an infant and is now able to even run quite well without having to support himself. He's speaking very well and even taking up learning how to read and write though most of his time is spent pouring over his coloring books. He's grown more comfortable in the household knowing that he's the oldest of four boys. Hugo and him seem to be nearly attatched at the hip though they do get in quite a few little arguments now and then and have the tendancy to try to out-do one another.

He still seems very sensitive about his size. Even as a Toddler he's only about as big as a large infant. It seems he'll always be half the size of the others. No one's brought it up in front of him but now and then I'll catch him with his back to the measuring wall in hopes that he's gone up an inch or two.

User Image.:Guardian Introduction:.

Name: Gabriel Shepherd
Age: -unknown-
Gender: Male
Race: High-Elf
Personality:
Knowledgeable and courteous, Gabriel seems to be a learned man heavily interested in the arts and music. He highly values common courtesy and humility. He spends hours tending to his flower garden and painting in his study. He''s quiet by nature and tends to keep to himself. He accepted the role of a protector to Gillian as he had long wished for a companion of some sort and perhaps a pupil to his artistic qualities. In raising Gillian he''s a loving man and hopes that Gillian will grow to overcome his slight disabilities.

Description:
Obviously an older gentlemen though he hardly seems to be physically older than thirty, fair yet hardened the man has been thought to be quite the object of attraction. His shyness has kept him well from relationships and it seems he''s quite pleased as things are. He''s not tall nor short- very average in height and build. His long dirty blonde hair falls about to the base of his shoulder blades and is often held up in a loose pony tail. He wears thin glasses- mainly when he''s reading or painting - at times. Many feel that he looks all the more charming with them on.

Race: Sin'Aesis

Description:
'My sister Junkie and I are the only Sin'Aesis twins, I guess that makes us real special kinda. We're both smaller than the others and we get sick more, but we've not made any enmies with anyone. I'm always hearing about how much everyone loves junkie and how wonderful she is. I've not seen much of her though, last I saw was in the park. She grew before me... Gabe says it's real strange since he was told that I was the older of the two. Maybe I'm just the weaker of the two physically. That's alright though, she's my sister and we get along great. I need to visit her again.'

Name: Hugo
Guardian: Thalion
Race: Ninjetsu Child

Description:
'Hugo was my first adopted brother, Rune's family brought him over. They said that they found him outside all by himself crying, that's real sad to hear. Why would anyone leave a baby all by himself? It's not nice... Hugo's real fun though. He likes to play games and watch movies. He's a bid of a handful for Gabe because he crawls real fast and he likes to sneak away when Gabe isn't looking to hide and seek- even when we're not playing. He's real nice though. Snowe likes him but he's scared of him 'cause he likes to pull hair.'

.:Gabriel's Estate:.

User Image
.:The Manner:.
A large but humble enough home built a good distance from Chaco's estate among the rolling hills of the northern outskirts of the kingdom. Gabriel's manner was built originally to isolate himself from the rest of the town, but not so much as to put him at a distance where going into market for the essentials was a major inconvieniance. A large estate sitting on a rather large plot of land, Gabriel makes it a part of his daily routene to see that the estate is well-kept, always has an assortment of natural life growing, and in the best of order. Now with Gillian having come into his life- he's put up a fence to keep Gillian within a reasonable area while giving the child some freedom to the outdoors.

Quest I : Ability Quest

Gillian: Ability Quest!

Well it looks like Gillian is another child ready for his first quest! What he can need in order to gain his first ability are these: Two balls, a frisbee, three plastic cups, and a brush. Each one must be a different color of the rainbow. One he has aquired all of these they must be arranged on a shelf in order according to said rainbow.

Quest I

Gabriel moved the hair from his face in the calm sweeping motion that seemed to be more a force of habit than the removal of an annoyance. It was early morning and already he had been up tending to the gardens for nearly a sun''s mark. His gardens were something he was most proud of- blooming with such rarities to this realm as the legendary starlight rose- which was said to only be born from the blood of a divine Ambronian. Other things like a dragon lilly, a gryphon''s talon, unicorn''s tear along with more common flowers from this realm and others that the elf had traveled to in his lifetime. The garden itself stretched a good acre around Gabriel''s estate in all directions, making a fanciful circle about the place with stylized and landscaped paths over the small stream he had created, through the beds of the flowers, and up to the main gate. His property was quite large, easily twenty square acres disinclining his house. He had been a servant of a noble family and had the funds according to that rank- not to mention the glorious exchange rate between realms. But he was modest about it, any elf enjoyed their space, enjoyed natural growing things, and enjoyed being far from any other races so he had built his place according to all this.

Gillian was enjoying the location as well. He was allowed to play in the main garden as long as he wanted as long as he kept his distance from the water and the fences. It was good for him to be out in the fresh air around the plants. With the boy''s fragile health and stunted stature he needed to be kept healthy. Fresh air and the wondrous scents of natural life were two things that any elf believed would keep one in the right health longer.

Every day Gabriel would check the mail. Before Gillian came into his life he hardly checked it once a week, and that was more or less to clean out the box of any spiders that had made a little nest in it. Recently, though, he was getting more and more mail. Requests for play dates, concerns over the young master''s garden, inquiry of how little Gillian was fairing. Today it happened to be a special parcel, a quest it said? How curious. Unfolding the paper as he slid it from its envelope, Gabriel adjusted his glasses and began reading slowly over it. His eyebrows rose a bit as he came to its end.

"Well then...", he chuckled, gaining abilities was sure different here than it was back in his homeland. But one must expect change when trying to adjust to a new place. Clearing his throat the elf turned and scanned over his garden. It was so difficult to find the child sometimes. Gillian always helped himself to a nap in the flowerbeds- always careful not to flatten any but ruthless enough to fall asleep in the taller plants. Gabriel was beginning to think it was on purpose, "Gillian, boy. You''ve post here."

Gabriel began slowly making his way through the paths in and around his garden, taking careful glances into the deeper flower beds. A soft cooing voice caught his attention from his left. A small horned head poked up sleepily from the bed of unicorn tears, a small pudgy hand rubbing at the droopy indigo eyes. Though unable to talk very well, Gillian was terribly expressive with his body language and his eyes. The boy yawned, sitting upright and looking over to his guardian. The eyebrows lifted up a bit as if to ask simply, "What is it?"

Gabriel moved over to the boy, reaching down to scoop him up from the flowers and onto his lap once he had made his way to a bench overlooking one of the larger fountains. "Now listen carefully, lad, it appears to be a quest for you."

Gillian tilted his head to the side and eyed over the paper that Gabriel was holding out- just so the both of them could see it. The letters made little more sense than blotches of black against white but Gabriel was kind enough to read it out for him, "It reads, ''Well it looks like Gillian is another child ready for his first quest! What he can need in order to gain his first ability are these: Two balls, a frisbee, three plastic cups, and a brush. Each one must be a different color of the rainbow. One he has aquired all of these they must be arranged on a shelf in order according to said rainbow.'' Now I suppose it wouldn''t hurt for me to help a bit in this... I don''t very well think you can go into town yourself."

Gillian looked up and flashed one of his more sheepish smiles, he would appreciate the help, he hardly knew the names of colors much less the order they were to be placed in.

Gabriel only chuckled, "The seven colors of the rainbow- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. In that order. Now it doesn''t say anything about what items have to be what color..."

Gillian shook his head, looking back down to the paper.

"Well then. Let''s take advantage of an early start. I''m sure there are some shops down at the market that have just what we need." He looked over the boy- already fully dressed but he''d been in those clothes since last night, "Do you fancy a chance in clothes?"

Gillian only shook his head, turning up to raise a single eyebrow at his guardian. What was the point in changing his clothes if he hadn''t soiled them in any way yet- and only a day''s worth of wearing them. He was picky enough about looking -and smelling- decent. Sleeping in flower beds hardly meant for an offensive smell.

Once again Gabriel laughed, "All right, all right, don''t scold me."

Soon after, the old dappled war horse was strapped up and harnessed. Ai-Hawa, Gillian''s black and white mare watched eagerly from her pen, lifting her blotched head up from her grazing. She was growing up to be a fine creature- a pure bred Arabian filly, when she was old enough she''d make a most magnificent runner. Until then, Gillian was to ride in the saddle with his guardian on the dappled stallion.

The ride to town was a quiet one. Gabriel never did like traveling during the mid-day as the market filled up quite quickly and not everyone had the manners to mind themselves around him and a small child. His horse was tied to one of the posts meant for just that reason. With Gillian held carefully in his arms and a small pouch of coins dangling from his belt, Gabriel began into the market itself, "All right lad, you keep your eyes open. I''ll carry you about and help you organize these items but you have to spot them for yourself. A true gentlemen does his part too you know, and he earns his own way in the world." At a nod from Gillian he continued, "Now, look about. The first color is red. Remember you can find it on one of two balls, one of three cups, a Frisbee, and a brush."

Again Gillian nodded, his head turning about as he scanned the market place. All the items could be found in a toy store. The letter didn''t say that they had to be adult plastic cups or adult brushes, balls and Frisbees were found in toy stores. It might just make more sense to get them all in one place rather than scrambling about. It took a good few blocks of walking before a toy shop was within sight enough for Gillian to make his usual, "Bah!" sound and point towards it.

Gabriel paused, following the boy''s finger and eager bounce, "Oh dear, a toy shop?" He looked down to the boy only to meet with a bit of a stubborn huff. Gabriel didn''t much like toy shops, they always had one too many loud children demanding that their parents bought them whatever they had in their hands. Their red, round faces opened like a pit to hades as they screamed until their poor protector caved in and obliged into the child''s demands. Gillian was far from those children, Gabriel assured himself, but even having to hear another person''s child in that behavior was more than he could hardly stand. Gillian grunted a bit, wrinkling his nose up at Gabriel.

Gabriel pushed through the front doors of the toyshop, the small golden bell dangling from the door jam rung out to welcome him. The place was charming enough- small but well-kept. The smell of children was apparent- candy, dirt, and the odd scent that packaged goods always carried. An elderly gentlemen tended to the counter, currently busy with a small doll whose arm had been popped off by one of his less gentle visitors.

"Alright, lad, you''ll have to direct me. I''d let you down but I don''t want to lose you." He said it softly, hoping not to bruise the child''s feelings. Gillian was small and might get lost in a place where there were plastic dolls larger than him.

Gillian made a bit of a face but nodded anyway, turning his head to look about the store. The cups would probably be where all the plastic cooking toys were. He could see a few younger girls already playing "house" with one another by one such arranged plastic kitchen. Pointing in the direction Gililan gave a low coo. Gabriel raised his eyebrows and turned in that direction, "Very well," pointing seems to work just fine."

Gabriel followed carefully behind the child, now and then having to reach down to catch the boy before he was able to tumble back to his rear end. Each time Gillian would flash an embarrassed smile and coo out "Fank ouu." Which, Gabriel supposed, was a simple "Thank you" in baby talk. Giving another short nod he''d continue after the boy.

The aisle was filled with all sorts of playthings involving the home. Little plastic plates in every color imaginable with every kind of print from the more lacey to the more plain. Little plastic forks with safely rounded tips, little plastic toasters, rolling pins, even plastic food. Eventually, Gillian found his quarry, pointing up towards the third shelf that stood above his reach. The cups were quite plan, packaged together. A pack of the cups in various colors.

"This will do." Gabriel reached up and took the set from the shelf, flipping it over to check the price. Not too bad, a wonder if they managed to sell them for any other reason though.

Gillian smiled, turning to continue down that same aisle. A brush was next, and the play "house ware" bled into the girl''s toys. Things like plastic make-up, face paints, plastic nails, toy dolls with long playable hair- that sort of thing. The brushes were normally kept up on hooks above the plastic nails, but apparently some less courteous children had knocked a good deal into the bin below- just within Gillian''s reach.

The child paused in front of it and looked over the colors that had fallen- a pink, a soft blue, and a violet. Reaching out he retrieved the violet brush and handed it up to Gabriel who took it slowly and looked it over, adding it to the small stack in his arm.

Again Gillian was off, waddling clumsily down the aisles, his hands always holding to one surface or another- once or twice he''d stumble forward, and poor Gabriel was powerless with his arms growing full of the toy. Gillian never seemed too terribly disappointed. He might crawl forward or inch his way back to his feet and continue like nothing happened. A few aisles down were intended mainly for the boys, what with the army toys, plastic and tin cars, dinosaurs and the like. But out in the main aisle were the more athletic toys. It didn''t take too much longer to find the last requested items. Two balls- Gillian had selected these to be indigo and cherry red- from a large ball display, and one green Frisbee from a sale bin just alongside the balls.

Content with his finds, Gillian turned back to Gabriel and nodded. The guardian reached down for the Frisbee, Gillian insisted on holding onto the balls- either because he simply liked them or because Gabriel looked a bit overloaded.

Both paid for the selected items, gratefully accepted a bag to hold it all in, and made their way back to their more quiet home away from the city. Upon arriving, Gabriel helped Gillian take everything out of it''s assigned package and place them in front of the infant- no order -that was Gillian''s task.

"Alright then. Arrange them like they''re seen in a rainbow." Gabriel reminded, holding Gillian up when needed to place the items on a vacant desk. First Gillian set the red ball, then two of the cups from the rainbow set- orange then yellow. Gabriel let the boy back down to select more items to place. Next came the green Frisbee followed by the blue cup. Allowing Gillian down once more, the boy picked up the remaining three colors and arrange them upon the desk. The blue cup, the indigo ball, and the violet brush.

"Done." Gillian said with a smile up to his guardian.

"Indeed." Very well done."

Ability Gained!

Gillian: Ability gained!

Gillian seemed to enjoy the outing to the market. But then, who wouldn''t, what with all the stores markets usually have? And the toy shop must have been a treat all on its own. And then once it was all done... There were the different colors, all lined up in a pattern... Something inside the small boy finally awoke! He now has:

Excellent color sense.

Quest II: Toddler Quest!

Gillian: Toddler Quest!

It's that time! A time that probably should have come a while ago. But it's here nonetheless, and soon Gillian shall be a toddler! But first what must he do? He must collect these things: A book of pressed flowers, a set of paints and paint brushes, a red ribbon with bells on the ends, and a broom of some sort.

------------------------

Quest II

Gabriel moved sluggishly down the flagstone path leading from his estate out to the front yard. His heavy-lidded eyes watching fighting to remain open. He thought he?d be used to all this by now- a houseful of young boys all waking at the crack of dawn only to reek havoc on his last nerve. Ryose was already up and out the door followed sharply by Snowe who hardly left his brother?s side. Hugo and Gillian were amusing themselves with crayons and a set of coloring books that Gabriel had brought home the day before after a short trip into town.

The elf stifled a yawn as he reached into the mailbox, pulling out a small stack of three documents. The first was a note from Rune. Ah yes, he needed to meet with her again. The second was a letter he had sent for- more instruction on how to link locations through doorways. It helped to have a doorway for each of his children?s worlds. The final was from this plane- addressed to Gillian.

He quirked a brow as he made his way back to the house, taking a slow sip of his honey tea as he entered the door. ?Gillian, lad!?

Gillian looked up from his coloring book, the bright smile fading slightly as his name was called, ?Gabe?? He answered back.

?We got a letter for you.? He smiled, waving the document.

?Mail for Giiiilll.? Hugo rolled his eyes and went on back to coloring in the picture of a dinosaur- horribly messy and?very yellow but he was proud of it this far.

?Me?? Gillian set the crayon aside and got himself to his feet, his tail snapping about as he walked carefully along the furniture and walls over to his guardian.

?Looks like another one of your treasure hunts.? Gabriel plopped himself down on the couch, setting aside the tea and his letters to aid the small sin onto the couch beside him. ?See? looks like you need to find some things to help you with your artwork.?

?Colors?? Gillian looked to the paper, squinting his eyes a bit.

?Sort of? let?s see? you?ll be needing a A book of pressed flowers, a set of paints and paint brushes, a red ribbon with bells on the ends, and a broom of some sort??

Gil scoffed at the last item on the list, ?Broom?s not for art.?

?No, but it does help when you?re cleaning up all the little shavings you make.?

?Ohh?? he looked down a bit.

?Don?t worry about it. You go get yourself dressed and I?ll? go make myself presentable.? Gabriel lifted the boy up and put him down onto his feet. He was getting better with walking thanks to Snow. Looking up he caught Hugo?s eyes, ?You too little man. You?re coming along.?

?Whatta?bout Snow n? Ryose?? Hugo protested.

?They?ll be outside all day, you?d need the devil?s luck to find them.?

Hugo snickered and got himself to his feet as well, creeping along the furniture and walls in a messy sort of race to his room as Gillian trailed behind him, making little progress on his younger brother due to his smaller stature.

Gabriel soon met up with the two. Hugo and Gillian both sat in front of the door, pushing each other around playfully but stopping the instant their guardian walked into the room.

?I saw that.? Gabriel chuckled, bending down to scoop the two up. ?Well now. Are we ready??

?I was done first.? Hugo puffed out his chest proudly.

?Socks don?t match.? Gillian snapped, poking at his younger brother?s foot which gained only a blow of raspberries from the boy.

?Now now?? Gabriel pushed the front door open, using a clever kick trick he had learned to shut it again. He allowed the two to play on the lawn while he hitched up the wagon into town. Soon the old dappled horse was strapped up and clopping heavily down the road. Gillan and Hugo clung to Gabriel?s robes as the horse made its lazy way into the main town. It wasn?t as busy as Gabriel expected- of course the sky was overcast and now and then there was a spittle of rain from the sky that would meet with his face or one of the boys at his sides.

The arts and crafts shop was a common place for the growing family by now. Gillian had an infatuation with anything of vibrant color, feathers most especially. He collected colored feathers, painted feathers, even feathers he had found laying around on the ground, arranging them neatly in his room. He wanted to make a dream catcher one day but how to was beyond Gabriel- something he?d look into later.

?Well here we are.? He pulled the horse to a stop and hopped down to secure him to a post. ?Now you two be on your best behavior.?

?Best.? Hugo nodded, sitting upright.

?Good.? Gabriel took one lad in each arm and walked into the store. Again, it was slow. A few old ladies were picking over the yarn and one older gentlemen was looking over the collection of colored buttons. Gillian?s eyes wondered a bit but Gabriel reminded him of his goal with a flick of the parchment.

?Now, first thing??

?Flower book.? Gillian looked up with a smile, making a motion of a book closing hard.

?Pressed flowers, yes.? Gabriel chuckled, letting the boy down to his feet, ?You show me the way, just like before.?

Gillian beamed, turning to waddle for the aisle, all the while clinging to Gabe?s robes as the elf slowly made his way after the boy. Eventually they came to a section for scrap books, sketch books, and the like. Gillian had to have Gabriel help him up now and then to flip through the books- it was all the help the elf would give to the boy. Eventually, Gillian selected a simple but charming book full of pressed flowers and held it up for Gabriel to inspect. The elf nodded and allowed the boy back down.

?Next we need a paint set.? Gabriel double-checked over the list.

?Paint!? Gillian nodded, pointing down the aisle and began waddling off once more, falling over a few times but always getting up with a grin. Hugo snickered, waddling along at Gabriel?s side.

?He wants to paint.? Hugo said matter-of-factually.

?Yes and I imagine he?ll make an absolute mess.? Gabriel sighed, he?d have to make a studio? the mage bills for his house were going to kill him long before any blade would.

Gillian waddled his way down a few more aisles to the paints, thankfully the children?s paint sets were kept low enough for him to reach. Gabriel came up behind Gillian as the boy seemed to have made his choice. A small Paint set complete with brushes kept in a plain wooden box that was likely to be the boy?s first coloring project.

?That?s a handsome one.? Gabriel noted as he bent down to take it from the boy.

?Bells.? Gillian tapped his chin, looking around shortly.

?And red ri?bbun.? Hugo added, getting a snort grunt from his older brother.

?Now now Gil, he?s only trying to help.?

?I know.? Gillian smiled, waddling his way along the back wall. He knew where they were- but they were always separate. Unless?

?I got ?dea.? He waddled himself away once more, eventually followed by Gabriel who had darted off shortly to retrieve a basket from the front to hold everything in. The broom would be a problem?

Gillian made his way to the doll section, examining the porcelain faces, the horse hair wigs, and little bits of outfit. He snorted in disappointment, there was one other section that might?

The holiday section was deprived of any interested buyers this time of year, but for his purposes it might be the only place to find what he needed. The boy walked carefully along the rows of supplies. Eventually he found his quarry, climbing up on the shelf displaying candy canes to retrieve a small bow with trailing ribbons and small jingle bells. ?Got it.?

Gabriel helped the boy down and tossed the now broken canes into the basket. ?Yes? among other things.?

Gillian decided to hang onto his newest prize as he darted off once more for the last item- a broom. He giggled at the sound of the bells as he waddled off, Gabriel considered attaching them to the boy later on to help keep track of him?or Ryose for that matter.

Gillian took much longer to locate a broom of any sort, but an older lady that had been picking over the type of thread she wanted to use in her quilt couldn?t resist stopping to talk to the stunted boy. Eventually he got out what he needed to and was pushed in the right direction. Gabriel followed the sound of chiming bells through the store, eventually meeting up with Gillian towards where the glue and glitter was kept.

?And?? He looked down to Gillian who held his hands behind his back- not that he couldn?t see the small Whisk broom.

?Broom!? Gillian displayed it proudly and Gabriel took it back into the basket.

?Very good- now that you have one you can help around the house more.?

?Nnmmgg?? Gillian scrunched his face up a bit, much to Hugo?s amusement.

?Alright. We?ll pay for these then be on our way. I?ll get you both something for lunch on our way back, is it a deal??

Both boys squealed in delight, clinging to Gabe?s robes, making it difficult for the elf to walk his way to the register. After waiting for a bit of fabric to be measured out and paid for, Gabriel and the boys were soon out the door and back in the old wagon.

?I?d say you both earned yourselves some of this? ice cream stuff.?

Toddler Stage Achieved!

Gillian has turned into an adorible little toddler! (And it's been too long of a wait, hasn't it?) His hair seems to have gained more white streaks, and there is now a red ribbon with bells on tied around his horn. His eyes seem brighter, and he seems to be much more aware of things than most toddlers. What will this child acheive?

Gillian: Affinity/Aversion Quest
Now as a toddler, Gillian must do the following: Get one jar of paint for every color of the rainbow, and paint one or more pictures of flowers. They can be any flowers, but he must use every color at least once.

Ability Quest II:

Gillian stirred at the gentle hand of his guardian, parting his eyes in the early morning sunlight. Gabriel stood over his ‘son’, holding another sheet of paper delicately in one hand. The young Sin shifted himself upwards, pulling the sheets aside to allow himself to sit up and swing his stubby legs around over the side of the bed, “Mmm….Gabe?” He groaned, rubbing at his eyes.

“Good morning, I’m sorry to wake you up so early but I knew you’d want to see this.” He held out the letter for the young boy to take as he took a seat beside him on the bed. He was teaching him how to read. Little by little. Knowledge was one thing that he small sin would have to put him at the level of the others, maybe above with practice. “Go on, what does it say?”

Gil looked uncertainly up to Gabe who only responded with an encouraging nod down towards the paper. Pulling at his lip, Gillian looked back down to the note, scratching at his wild hair as he blinked to rid the blur from his vision. “N…now as…. As a tod… d….-”

“Toddler.” Gabriel said calmly, it was a larger word, bless the child’s heart he still couldn’t read bigger words like that.

“Toddler.” Gil repeated, running a finger over the word on the note, “Gillian m…must do the F…fo…-”

“Following.”

“Following.” Gil took a deep breath, blinking a bit more now that he could actually make out the rest of the words, “Now as a to…toddler, Gillian must to the following.” He smiled, looking up to Gabe for his nod of approval before continuing, “Get one jar… of pa…pain…. Paint. Oh paint.” He glanced over to his art set, he already had quite the collection, “Okay, one jar of paint for every…colo….co….color?” Another nod from Gabriel. “Of the…”

“Rainbow.”

“Rainbow…” Gabriel handed the note over to Gabe who reached over to toss the boy’s hair around, “Paint one or more pictures of flowers. They can be any flowers but he must use every color at least once.”

“Flowers.” Gill nodded and slid himself off the bed, groggily making his way over to the dresser to get himself dressed up. The usal outfit- a blue tunic over a pair of brown pants with a belt pulled around his waist to keep both tied onto him and finally a pair of leather boots. Kind of strange for this area but Gabriel had brought from his world his taste in clothing and Gillian found them to be far more comfortable than the stuff the others wore.

“Can I paint outside by the garden?” Gillian looked over as he brushed through his hair. Gabriel was allowing him to grow it out long, in fact he was encouraging it. For his culture, the length of one’s hair was a bit of a status symbol, and to keep it too short meant that whomever wore it in such a way was at the rank of a servant.

“Of course.” Gabriel chuckled, standing himself up to help the young boy pick up his pallet and paints. Gil had his arms full of paintbrushes and the small jars of paints that he had bought the day he’d been on his last quest, the bells still jingling from his horns as he walked his way though the living room to the front door. Snowe and the rest were still fast asleep. Maybe Ryose was up and about, he was more wild than any of the other children, it was always hard to keep tabs of him.

“Okay.” Gabriel set the easel down in front of the main garden, situating a little spot for Gillian to work, “You have your paints, I’ll go get you a cup for water. You got paper on there- anything else?”

Gillian shook his head, working the lids off his paints, “No, I think I can do it.”

“Very well.” Gabriel stepped inside long enough to fetch the promised cup of water for rinsing brushes and a book for himself to read. Gillian was still far too young to be left unattended though he did have kind of a thing for people watching him- hence the book.

Gillian sketched out seven flowers on the canvas with a pencil first, glancing between the garden and the canvas. Still pretty underdeveloped, but for his age he was coming along quite nicely in his artwork. Truth was, many children enjoyed coloring and drawing at a young age and grew out of it. Gillian seemed to have… kind of a passion for it to say. He was never a loud or rowdy child, he preferred drawing to playing tag or chaise. Other such silly games.

It was well into the afternoon before the painting was done. During the time he was working Gil would move his easel around to find a flower of the color he was looking for, the painting was a bit scattered but it turned out quite well for his age. “Done.”

Gabriel looked up from his book to the painting, still damp but a few hours in the sun would fix that. Gillian stood back proudly, wiping his hands off on the rag he had been provided with. “Is it good?”

“It’s wonderful.” Gabriel shut his book carefully over the mark, standing himself up from the lawn, “I’ll have to hang it up when it’s dry.”

The little sin practically beamed with the complement, dipping his paintbrushes back into the water cup to soak the paint from them. “In my room?”

“Yes if you’d like.” Gabe chuckled.

Sitting out by the flowers, and having to paint them seems to have changed small things in Gillian. He now has:

A liking toward flowers of all colours

Gillian's Sketchbook

When Gillian was old enough, I bought him a sketchbook and a set of pencils to work with. He's quite content with drawing the other Sin'aesis that he encounters, especially his friends. Not all will be colored, but those that he finishes he'll put up here for everyone to see.
