Mate: None - she is unlikely to take a mate despite having had children, because she knows she could never restrict herself to loving only one fox. This, she knows, would be horribly unfair on any potential mate.

History: Mostly unknown. She sneaked into Dare's house while the door was open, and was discovered sleeping on the rug. Dare still takes care of her from time to time, though she now runs a tribe of her own, and will often leave scraps outside its door for the Sanguinites to take. Sonia herself cannot remember her origins clearly, though she has had a recurring dream of a red-bladed sword that may be significant: this same sword formed the template for her tribe's symbol, the Sanguine Blade.

History: Atticus spent the early days of his life in Metropolis with a learned owner. Said owner was interested in how much intelligence a Modifox possesses, and tried to teach Atticus everything he could - as the kit became an adult, though, he felt increasingly stifled by the house and wished to test his knowledge in the outside world. It would have been unseemly to run away, though, so he stayed, becoming more miserable by the day. Eventually his owner, frustrated by his lack of interest in the experiments, let him outside to run around. Atticus never went back. During his time as a city fox, he has gathered a good deal of practical experience to back up his theoretical knowledge (though this, given the human/Modifox language barrier, is often hazy until tested).

History: A born urban fox, Hylden is tough, hardened and streetwise. She has lived for many years in Metropolis, and her practical knowledge base and survival skills are among the best around. Though she is easily old enough to have had at least one litter of kits, she has never taken a mate: most of her time has been taken up with training, fighting or evading her many enemies, and becoming more and more deeply buried beneath the surface of herself. This may sound tragic, but to her it is half-help and half-hindrance. No one can discern her weaknesses, but equally she finds communication difficult. Trying to develop a custom-made form of physical expression based on body-language is one of her current projects: while this would be simple to almost anyone else, she is struggling to break through layers of negative conditioning and often becomes frustrated - even violent - if she cannot get through to whoever she is trying to contact.

History: A fancy fox with a comfortable home in the rich suburbs, Miriam has always been praised by human fox-keepers for her striking good looks. Due to her sheltered life as a prized pet, she has a smooth, frequently groomed coat and bright eyes, never lacks for food or care, and knows next to nothing about the world outside her immediate neighbourhood. Natural curiosity has led her to slip out of her gilded cage on a few occasions in the past, but she has never managed to get far before being picked up and returned to her owner. Part of her resents being used for her appearance, but in the absence of any support she has thus far been too timid to allow her to rebel with any success. She takes a demure kind of pride in her beauty, and enjoys showing off her reputedly flawless form before her owner's friends. Though she would be hesitant to state it directly, she considers herself - quite practically, and without any great measure of vanity - a living work of art.

History: An entertainer by nature, Moros delights in his reputation for wickedness and will gladly put on a show of mostly harmless cruelty for the masses. Guilty laughter is one of his favourite kinds. He also has a penchant for setting up elaborate traps in conversation, then revealing the double entendre at the crucial moment. Like most Modidaeva, though, he also enjoys a good fight. He has followed battles all his life, selling his services to the highest bidder without much caring who is right or wrong, just to be near to places where fear and anger are abundant. Drawing upon such feelings makes him stronger, and while they can be found almost everywhere his feeding makes them lessen - an environment like a battle causes them to replenish faster than he can feed, leaving him drunk on power and almost mad. Though he would never let anyone know, losing himself in this manner frightens him somewhat...even more so because he is constantly compelled to do it again.

History: A summer baby, Jeroen spent his early life casually moving from home to home in the suburbs of Metropolis in search of food. His good looks earned him praise and attention, but he could not stand being in one place for too long - he began to feel trapped and stifled, and without any of his own kind to keep him in a place he would quickly leave it. Thus he finds himself unsuited to a tribe, and makes a life for himself roaming the city outside the Syndicate's usual patrols. Though he has no desire to join the tribe of artists, he has a great deal of respect for them and does not wish to steal from their lands. The only thing missing from his life, he feels, is a companion with whom to share his adventures: being as patient and accommodating a fox as he is, though, he must take care to find someone who will not exploit him for such qualities.

These are not literal letters - I doubt Modifoxes can write as such, and certainly not in a way I could understand - but rather symbolic ones, in the same fashion as Anne Frank beginning journal entries with "Dear Kitty". Of course, that means that I cannot read their entries even if they wish me to: any requests they make therein must somehow be articulated to me in another way.
