Welcome to the original birthplace of Aitumn This journal is maintained by ropin and riden Height: 15h 3" Aitumn's Stats Skill level: 207Power: 8 pts Strength: 13 pts Intelligence: 10 pts Wisdom: 10 pts Courage: 9 pts Luck: 11 pts Speed: 15 pts Agility: 16 pts Adaptability: 10 pts Stamina: 12 pts
Personality: At first glance he may seem calm and controlled, always eager to lend an ear to anyone willing to talk, though anything more then a few words on his part is seemingly rare. On a couple of occasions he's been known to illustrate his points through stories with a moral ending, always somehow tying his little tale into the land he's occupying at the time. But cross this stallion and I can garuntee you better be ready for crazed fool that'll do about anything without giving so much as a twinge of concious.
Location: Aitumn prefers to travel around quite a bit, not really staying in one place for too long; for his anxious eyes have a desire to seek out new lands, and his wings to feel the winds of many different terrain. But he will frequent certain spots he finds in each of these different lands for reasons he'll keep to himself.
Aitumn's Tree is located in the West Quadrant

Aitumn's Fruit Tree
Off towards the west, Aitumn's tree isn't exactly anything special, according to him anyways. It's about average in size compared to all of the others, and a safe distance away from both humanoids and the sea, leaving the nequus in a neutrality towards the two-leggers.
Little known to Aitumn, after his departure from the tree as a young foal when his mother decalred they would be moving on, sometime in life the tree had been struck by a stray bolt of lightning. The tree itself had not died and still lives on to this day, but almost half of the tree is blackened and brittle, the leaves don't grow anymore on this side; as if cut off from the rest of the tree. Its an event that has been overlooked throughout the years, forgotten by the tree and to forever live without concious knowing of the past.
Personality Quirks
One of his most sinful qualities would happen to be that of pride and a desire to keep himself above all others. It may be in a subtile way, but Aitumn feels as though he is set aside to merely watch the happenings of others, and on occasion control whatever situation he is brought into. Now, that doesn't mean he's a pompous jerk that's full of himself, but the jala stallion simply can't stand to feel like the less dominant one in any sort of encounter.
Tagging alongside this sinful pride of his is that little trick of the trade constantly refered to as recklessness. He is a traditional jala in the sense he absolutely will not take any crap or vice from another nequus, and will literally go out of his way to 'teach them a lesson'. In this sense a grudge will be either carried out or clutched onto for the rest of his days considering how it is dealt with by the other nequus. Meaningless to say, Aitumn refuses to learn his own lessons, believing that he himself is the soul 'good-guy' of the nequus community and it's his duty to right the wrong.
Normally a calm guy he perfers to keep his nose out of other's business, unless it is directly affecting himself, and as of yet has never been the kind of guy to make first contact with anyone. Always eager to lend an ear, Aitumn hates talking about himself and will often times try to stear the conversation away from him.
His Opinion On Himself
The blood bay perfers to think of himself as some distant echo traveling from terrain to terrain, with no real ties to any other nequus his whim of the wind heart and soul drive his thirst for new lands. Even in conversations he still distances himself from emotions towards the other nequus, save for a few shows of anger or dominace.
Perfered Techniques
Its not often he'll approach anyone, but when he does he'll do it respectfully no matter the individual. However, that does not mean he believes he is 'below' them, but rather he believes you get what you dish out. Also, when his mind gets away from him he enjoys telling stories with a moral ending as part of the 'teach them a lesson' kinda thing. For often times he finds inspiration in the land around him, and works up wonderous stories depending on what needs to be brought up.

Likes
Some of his likes include:
1.) Interesting conversations that do not revolve around himself.
2.) A compedative streak in other nequus that allow him to go all out in arguments, races, or anything else he might consider a competition. This also accounts for his playful nature.
3.) Keeping himself fit and in shape, as there's no telling when he may need to call upon speed or power.
4.) Telling stories to those willing to listen, as he finds beautiful scenery is his inspiration.
Dislikes
Things that tend to throw him off the edge:
1.) The highest offense would happen to be that of mockery. Depending on the situation the stallion's reckless streak will most likely throw him into a fit of violence.
2.) He doesn't appreciate trouble-makers looking to get under his skin, nor beings that happen to show weakness when they're perfectly capable of taking care of themselves.
3.) A threat to any member of his family, such as Cressida, Tucker, or Rhea, is a bone-i-fied threat to him. Be ready to drop it or deal with a willing opponent.
4.) The winter, he can't stand the cold.

For those of you who dare to direct probbing questions towards my past and how I came about in this land of ours, I'm sorry to say that not even I have access to such elusive information. My earliest memory occurs when I've already spanded the wings of adulthood and the budding crest of such a life. It was a strange waking to the world I had so much information about, and yet my own personal information was wonderously foreign. I knew not of the life I use to lead or even what had brought me to the point of unconciously lying on my side, but despite this I had an uncanny sense of the world around me, the place we nequus call home. I knew what things were called, what they were, and every other peice of general information a nequus should know; but the only thing I understandingly remembered about myself was a single word. Aitumn. My name. Other then that I couldn't seem to recall if I had friends, foes, how I had grown up, if I've ever loved, if I hated, who I use to be and if I had any unfinished business. So fits the life of this wander, no where to go but an undeniable desire to keep moving forward. As for the past I don't remember... I've already forgotten my need to know. Restlessly Content with the life I've created for myself.
A Silenced Past
Vibrant hues of unearthly pale yellow struck across a mountainous pile of shadow like clouds, leaving its deadly mark for only moments in the sky, but its voice bellowed with the open threat of sheer demise to all that got in the wildly random path of such flashes of lightning. Furiously similar strikes threatened to break the barriers that held back a biting moisture, certainly capable of hurling themselves down towards the nequus below in a form yet unknown. The nequus below were hudled together, a small family herd of Aer that had found their way to the accepting members. The little gathering of nequus was nothing but fiery snorts and hooves that danced the beginings of nervousness. Recently their leader had abadoned them for some quick of a beautiful filly, and they left with no guiding hand to tell them what to do in this sort of situation. They could all smell it, the way the air electrified around them, the moisture and the strange and hot and cool places on the ground... the heavens were about to open up above them and pour down unmercifully with any form of ice or wind that would sting and uproot the earth.
A few young foals hid behind the protection of their parent's legs, cowering from the large hooves of the Aeri adults that seemed to be moving constantly into random paths like the lightning above. Being a family herd they often times kept the foals around until they were adults where they were given the choice to either stay or go off on their own. These foals were young, and did not yet understand the true meaning of why their herd leader had moved on without so much as a good bye, nor why everyone was so nervous.
It wasn't long till the adults started mumbling amongst each other about possibly shelters they could take, but a single glance around proved that there was little to now chance of finding something big enough for all of them. "What are we going to do?" someone had dared to raise their voice above the others in hopes of bringing order to murmurs of mistrust and accusations. This had brought the attention of several nequus towards the voice, who consenquently hadn't the courage to bring up any ideas of their own. Again the murmurs arose as the thundering voice above ordered a quick decision, the flashes of bright light daring any rash action that might bring chaos to the group.
"Everyone just shut-up, please!" a rather young stallion dared to snort out towards them all. Seriously, how was he suppose to focus with all the voices around him?! To the shock of the rest of the small gathering they quieted only to stare in disbelief. Their gazes shifted to this seemingly arogent stallion, only to find that it was in fact the blood bay Jala that had been rather pesky since his mother left him in their care as a young foal. It had been cute then to the Aeri, but now he was always the first to comment on issues, the first to stick his nose into business it didn't belong in, and was always running around making split-moment decisions like he was invincable. It was surprising he never tripped! Or fell! Or broke a bone while performing such feats! But then again, perhaps that's how all Jala were, reckless little beasts that never gave a damn about the consequences. Or just maybe he was the fool of his breed, which would explain why his mother left him with them.
The Aeri mumbled amongst themsevles again, most of them fed up with how he acted all the time, and few more that tolerated such rash behavior. Silenced they watched as the Jala now ignored them, pacing with quick turns that would have surely made him slip if he so much as put a hoof down just an inch away from where it was suppose to land. But he never did, and many of them envied the young troublemaker for such foolishness that never got punished. Finally a booming rumble seemed to shake the ground beneath them, and the heavens tore itself from the sky to come pouring down in freezing sheets. Many of the Aeri began to swing their heads around in concern for the area they were in now, open and unsheltered to the elements. Soon they began to look back to the Jala stallion and his pacing, each silently hoping that he had come up with something, as the rash Jala always seemed to do.
Suddenly the Jala stopped cold in mid step, body twisted in a fashion that seemed like he would be unable to stand in, but still he stood unphased. A long mane blew harshly in gaining wind, and a neck arched in sudden decision. To his surprise voices sprang up around him, which startled the young Jala into spinning and jumping back, wings half raised.
"What is it Aitumn?" a voice eargerly asked.
"Did you come up with anything!?" another voice probbed.
"Is there some way to keep us all safe! Speak, boy! Hurry before the ice rains down upon us all!" the eldest of Aeri's spoke up, the group nervousness shifting over to himself.
The blood bay Jala was completely caught off guard by this show of interest and almost sheer respect. Slowly he relaxed his composure, bringing pinned ears forward and lowering his wings once more. Why were they going to listen to him now? The rain? The thunder? Their nervousness? Whatever it was the young Jala found it quite unnerving to suddenly have all this pressure on him, but he slowly bobbed his head, remembering the plan he had come up with. "Er... Right. If we hurry we can make it to the cave we spent the night in yesterday. Today wasn't very productive distance wise in our trek to D'ob", he spoke, flicking his ears restlessly. He heard them mumble about his idea, a few concerns that were quickly dismissed by the elder stallion who was the first to go trotting off into the rain towards the direction they had just come. The rest of the herd followed suit, quickly picking up pace, and in the rear followed Aitumn, hoping that they made it in time before the rain turned to a dangerous hailstorm of ice.
As they now cantered along the slippery ground, a very rare occasion presented itself to Aitumn. With the deafening roar of thunder he actual lost his footing, slipping slightly as his muscles strained to keep their balance. Disorented at what had just happened and his head pounding from the clash of thunder, he looked up to find the herd in near arrest. Something horrible had just gone down, and soon enough an immensely acute flash of light blinded his young, bright, hazel eyes; another deafening clash of thunder sounding in his ringing ears. He stumbled again, unable to keep his pace as the rain turned to large chunks of hail that threw themselves down at the land below.
Aitumn tried to see what was going on, but everything seemed to be dulled from his sight, he couldn't hear anything but his own heartbeat and the distant bloodcurtling squeals of the Aeri family that had adopted him. Then he felt something else. A sharp pain that struck anguish to his head, and then all around his body. The blood bay could not keep his conciousness, and soon his body fell to the ground; limp.

Friendly Acquaintances
~Noir: 'An odd Jala stallion that needs to think before he acts, esspecially since he disturbed my lunch, but in the end he turned out to be alright.' ~Jacques: 'A friendly Bae as far as I can tell, though I'm unsure of some stuff he had said. Kind enough to me, and apparently carring of others. It was a nice encounter, but one I fear won't repeat itself. My hooves have that itch... that undeniable need to wander. ~Xla'Lanan: 'I met 'Ka' by chance, but it certainly was worth it! I'm notmally not one to converse so openly, but talks of a kingdom and herd of Jala certainly grabbed my attention. He seems like a friendly enough guy, despite a few things I overlooked.' ~Skittles: 'Nizhoni's little friend. He seemed fairly nice after our meeting, and was rather helpful with Niz.' ~Vartan: 'A little red Bae I met in D'ob, poor fellow was seemed a bit edgey to company though.' ~Scabbers: 'Apparently he raises Mecriana. At first he was a bit fiesty and accused me of leaving her and being her father, but after things were settled I think he's an alright guy.
~Sanue: 'I still don't know much about him at all, but from what I gather he's a respectful sort and I owe him for helping me out.' ~Vierna: 'Apparently I've known her in the past or something, but she's Zak's aunt. This is... a bit weird.' ~Bakufu: 'I merely stopped to inspect a harsh gleam and I end up finding an insightful little bae. He's seems like a pretty relaxed guy, someone I may want to keep communications with in the future when things settle down again.' ~Kali: 'A purple crossbreed mare who approached Tehya nad myself while on a walk. She seemed like a friendly enough sort, and was intersted in hearing the legends of nequus.' ~Diego: 'I'm not quite sure what was wrong with this guy, but I assumed it was a personal issue. Beyond that he seemed polite if not friendly, so I suggested a run in hopes it might help clear his mind. If I see him again, hopefully he'll be doing better than he was today.' ~Nepenthe: 'I didn't get much of a conversation with her, seeing as how my daughters did most of the talking, but she seems friendly enough. I'm afraid I don't really know much about her.' ~Cassia: 'The caris companion of Nepenthe. Tehya and Rose both seemed to take a shine to the canine, and had many, personal and otherwise, question for her to answer.'
Friends
~Lucius: 'A very interesting Aeri who happens to be a wander like myself. I believe he should be respected for the reasons he carries those bones around, but that's just me. Perhaps we'll meet again in our travels.' ~Nizhoni: 'She was friendly from the get-go, an interesting Ichsa mare who told tales of herds and raised questions about things I'd rather keep to myself. After meeting her again, I realized just how 'innocent' she could be. A good friend though.' ~Mecriana: 'Now that's she a grown mare... she's still full of energy no matter what mood she's in. I believe she's a strong sort, and I look forward to our meetings.'
Family Members
~Tucker: 'Mine and Cressida's wonderful little son! I hope he won't grow to hate me or anything, it would simply break my heart.' ~Cressida: 'Amazing Reya mare, very entertaining and I love to play teasing games with her. I don't think I've ever felt love before, but if that's what this is, I couldn't be happier.' ~Rhea: 'She's Cressida's mother, how could I not like her? Heh, other than that she's a good person to be around and she loves Tucker, unfortunatly I don't know much about her.' ~Tehya: 'One of my daughters whom happens to enjoy my story telling. She seems hesitant at first when trying anything new, but I'm patient enough to coax her into things. I want to teach her not to take her life for grantite, and live life to its fullest. Hopefully as she grows she'll be more outgoing.' ~Rosanzhelle: 'My other daughter, she's even more snowy than Tucker, which I found surprising.' ~Casimir: 'The first colt to hatch from the second fruit tree. He looks almost completely like Cressida, except for the mane and tail.' ~Aidan: 'One of my other sons, and I must say I have no idea where that chestnut coloring came from.' ~Lyra: 'Another son of mine and Cressida's. He's bay with a golden sheen like his mother.'
Suspended
~Dailondra: 'Bad company, annoying mare, don't want to see her again if I can help it.'
Hitlist
~Zaknafein: 'I can't possibly fathom the words to explain the anger and the resent I feel for this block-head dolt. If I ever see him near Cressida, Tucker, Rhea, or any other members of my family again I won't restrain myself.'

"Eventually we ask ourselves what we want out of life, and what goals we mean to accomplish. I'm like anyone else and often times have pondered about this same path. I suppose I want to see as much of this world as I can, despite my younger years already being spent doing so. I've been asked once about why I don't settle down to one spot and stay there, but my answer was the same. My wind-soaked wings thrist for different breathes of air and my mind is quick to desire tales of lore and legend that only my travels can bring me. But, even for an echo like myself, I do have the urge to settle down some place, some where, but I haven't yet found the mare that will tame my wandering passions. *shrugs* If there is such a dream in existance."
"Okay, new plan! Its about time I write down my thoughts and hopes for the future, as I wouldn't want to leave those interested out in the cold. Heh, well to begin with I'm fairly sure, no, I am sure I found the mare I can settle down with. I don't know if she returns my feelings or not, but that's to be seen in later days I suppose. Despite this, I have the strong sense of wanting the best for her and our son Tucker. What does that mean? Get this Zak business settled and done with; my new goal. After that?"
"I'm happier than I ever have been simply wandering on my own, my new life with Cressida and our slowly growing family makes me appreciate the life that has been given to me. Yet I still wish to share this with other nequus, so I've decided to become a story teller, a library of fantasy for the entertainment of others, as well as a cache of moral reasoning for those who need it. That is my dream, to become a teller of tales that inlightens the imaginations of others."

[~Catch A Story~]
"In my lifetime I've come up with quite a few stories thanks to my love of scenerey, but seldom have I found more than a handful of nequus to tell them too. What about you? Looking for a good tale to peak your interestests? Perhaps looking for some form of entertainment, or a piece of advice hidden within a fantastical tale? Maybe you're going for a romatic setting for you and a love interest? Or perhaps a story for the foals? I'm not one for conversation or lecture, but I can offer you my services as a teller of tales. If you so desire, seek me out and ask for a story. However keep in mind I'm not whoring myself out. If I feel your are disrespectful, unwilling to listen, or even if I get the sense that you think I might owe it to you; I will refuse. Bug me, and you're in for an a** kicking I can assure you. Keep these rules in mind, and I may very well share some part of my imagination with you."
What's this all about? Its a way for me to get Aitumn's reputation as a story-teller out into the masses, and allow him the freedom of thought I had orginally intended.
How to nab a story Stories will be dealt out when I can get to them, and in the form of any other rp. Your character should possibly seek out Aitumn, or at some point express an interest in hearing stories. They may have heard others talking about how he's told them a story or perhaps its just one of their interests. Feel free to get creative with the reasoning why. Fill out the form below, completely, and post it in this thread. I will also need you to provide the link to the rp thread, as I'd like you to post first. Progress Thus Far
"My progress? That's a hard concept to judge when there's no destination to measure it by. But I suppose the few Nequus I've met up with, is progress all in its own. I'm learning more about the world, and possibily more about myself, but I find that despite how far I go, how fast I run, or how many others I meet... I just can't subdue my will to keep moving.
Oh, that's not what you're talking about? Humph, this better not be about my memory, cuz I swear I'd keep my mind from wandering to that subject. Ugh, fine. I have no clue where I came from, who my parents were, how I was as a foal, or even how I lived back then. Its a constant reminder of the dark shroud that covers my life, and how I transformed into this wary traveler. And you know what? Nothing is helping me to jog my memory. So I've come to the conclusion that no matter who I use to be, I'm content with the life I've made for myself. A relentless wander of the many faces of Urin.
Sorry to say it, but I don't think I'll ever know; nor where I'll end up next."

Progress Thus Far "What to say. I've done alot of traveling since the winter season, and its pretty amazing that there are still some places out there I haven't seen yet. Like say the Ocean, gah... I hate sand! Its so awkward, and I feel like a fool walking on it. But back to my story; which reminds me, haven't thought up any other fantasies just yet. Ah well, it'll come to me in time, I just hope someone will be around to hear it. Talkin to myself ain't good, ya know?
On the other hoof, something feels quite odd. Hmm, I wonder what this urge to wander is. Its different, and there's direction. Very odd indeed."

Planned, what's that? "Well, I guess not everything in one's life can be considered before hand. Sure, I kinda supposed something like this might happen, but I didn't quite think it would. You know? It came as a bit of a surprise that's for sure, especially for a full on wander like myself. I don't have any specific ties with one place or Nequus, I think, and its very difficult for me to stick to one place for longer then a couple of days. I think I'm doing alright so far, though perhaps I should strive for better?
Okay okay, I'll stop beating around the bush, buncha crazies. I didn't quite expect to be a father this soon in life, or at least not until I settled down permenitly into one spot or region. But damn I feel proud, not that sissy mushy stuff everyone keeps talking about, but genuine pride that I've been given the chance to help raise a youth. Its exicting, I want to know what he or she looks like, what they'll be like, heck even if they'll like me or not! But I suppose that doesn't matter very much, I'll still feel the same pride as i do now. Though, I have to be wary. I remember that little encounter with a grieving mare, whose fruit who had been brutally torn into by some sort of enemy. I swear, I was pissed then and it wasn't even my fruit, but if something like that happened to mine... I swear I'd sooner lay down my life then allow it.
Anyway, lately I've been hanging around the tree with Cressida, the fruits mother. I'm not quite sure what she thinks about me, other then I know she generally tolerates my presence. I really do hope for some sort of relationship, friendly at least. It would just be a breath of fresh air in my life, and I'm certain I want to help raise the foal when it hatches. Well, I'm really wanting to share my tales of fantasy and create stories just for it. I say it because I have yet to learn a gender, so don't jump on me about that.
That's pretty much it right now, gotta hope for the best."

Wish I knew... "Exactly who I use to be. I never use to question myself, despite the fact I hadn't a clue what my past use to be like. I trusted myself. I trusted who I use to be and how I got to where I am now. But now, I just don't know if I deserve such trust.
I suppose I should start at the begining, huh? Well after discovering that a nequus had a grudge against me, I went off to discover just exactly what that might be. Right now, I don't know if I made the right decision or not, but the effects aren't just a sore hip. I can't possibly bewhat he says I am. A murderer. I'm not like that, or at least, I know I'm not now. It would be helpful if I could actually remember my past for once. Nothing I can do about it now, but feel guilty and confused. Its unthinkable, and yet fathomable with my condition.
Even now, days after I fight myself hurtling through the possiblities, and struggling to remember even the slightest thing of the past. I feel like I should tell someone, but the closest Nequus right now in my life I wouldn't have a mind to drag into it. Lucius has a family of his own that he needs to take care of, and no need to bother Cressida with anything. I wouldn't want to do that.
So, I'm left to the merci of my own thoughts, which quite franky haven't been merciful at all."
