Dull dark eyes shifted their gaze upwards, studying the begining of a dark dusk that was soon to fall upon the beaches of Quirne. It was good he had left once Tucker was asleep, and though it was only his second time to do so he felt closer to his goal than he had been the other night. Which was good, for Aitumn would rather be fairly pleasant in his meeting with the other Jala stallion, than he would be a ball of nerves. All he had to do, was keep himself from thinking about the moron that was Zaknafein. The idiot that had put his little family in danger, that had tried on several accounts to harm them, and who was too dense to explain things. For Aitumn, as much as he hated the vile green creature that he had come to know as a thread to his sweet Tucker, he couldn't help but feel some uncertainty.
"Murderer." His voice echoed the name that had been bestowed upon him by the green brute. The one who, he himself, had tried to commit just that crime. Murder. Had Aitumn really been capable of such a thing in whatever past his mind had locked away? He didn't know. He couldn't know. There was so much he didn't understand about himself, so much he couldn't hope to deal with. Having one's memory locked away from reach, was truely a torturous state to be in.
Distressful. That's what he had come realize the situation to be. He had no means of dealing with Zak, no order, no reason, he couldn't simply talk out the problem because he couldn't remember it. What made him think the green brute would want to talk to him about it now, when in the past he was more than willing to straight out attack? He didn't know. He couldn't be sure, but he had try. If not for the safety of his family but his own sanity that was seeming to slip away with every chance it got. Murderer. Was that what he was? If so, then who? Why? When? What did it have to do with Zak?
So much for a pleasant meeting with the other Jala stallion of the beach. Moving off at a quicker pace, Aitumn's strides became that of unnerved uncertainty.

So once again the night was falling, and Sanue had yet to hear from the dark stallion. Perhaps last night had honestly scared the fellow off? He hoped so, no need to deal with more idiots after listening to that Reya mare go on about her claiming his rock. However it was rather odd how they had split off like that, one leaving without the other. Either the dark stallion was really smart, or honestly such a coward. It seemed though, as he had yet to encounter the fellow, or anyone else this day, that coward might be the word for him. Yet, the hippogriff knew he should not yet be counting on such judgements, for had they not come to him the day before while in such a veil of darkness? No doubt they would try such a thing again. Now he said they, because he had reason to believe if he did return, he would not be alone.
The other, the Reya mare, had most assuredly expressed her views on such a freak as himself, and if the stallion shared such views it would be idiotic and moronic if he returned alone. Unless stupidity was the game, as were most nequus he seemed to meet. What to do now? Sanue had hardly been worried the night before, and if he were to be attacked the hippogriff would heartily welcome the chance to retaliate. How long has it been since he was able to test his beak and his claws like that? Too long he supposed, for most idiots simply fled at the chance of bodily harm.
Oh well. Whatever came, whenever it came, Sanue would have an interesting time with it no doubt. For now though, until some sign of the stallion and whatever party he brought, Sanue simply relaxed upon his resting place of stone; aware of the night shrouding over the beach and the rest of the world.

Of all things that had scattered his brain into disaray, why did it have to be a question of his own mentality? He had known long ago when first faced with his memory problem, that he would have been better off not to wonder and not to worry about what he had done in his past, and yet here he was asking himself if he had actually taken's another life. It was one thing to fight and defend oneself, which Aitumn had no problem doing, but taking a life? That wasn't him, was it? He had always thought such rash behavior, a hypocritical stance for such a reckless sonofanag such as himself, was beyond all reason. To take one's life, when simply dealing with the individual was perfectly exceptional, was just out of the question for most situations.
Yet, as the blood bay's hooves struck into the damp sands along the shoreline of the beach, Aitumn had to come back to the conclusion he had been set himself upon not mere days ago. He was in need of dealing with Zak. He wanted to beat the stupid moron bloody from nose to hoof for putting his family in harms way and threatening to take Tucker away from them, was it not death he had placed upon the Aeri brute's head? Did he not, already, answer his own question? In this particular case... Aitumn was seriously considering murder. Who was to say that he hadn't in his past life?
A tempered snort from the stallion's flared nostrils and a forehoof struck at the sand before him, sending the blood bay into a flurried jog away from the spot and hopefully away from his thoughts. He had a son now, a mare that was as interested in him as he was in her, this should be the happiest time of his life and he was spending it contemplating what to do with a threat to said happiness.
"F*cking Zak."
That was all he had to say on the issue, his dark hallow gaze shifting across the horizon of the darkening beach, as he spotted the large rock that Dailondra brood had led him too the night before. Dammit, he was hoping to be in good humor in his meeting with the other Jala stallion, and yet it felt like he had fire running through his veins.

Sure enough, as soon as the hippogriff started thinking the other wouldn't show, a dark shape along the beach caught his fiece gaze. No doubt it was the stallion from before, that or his luck was extremely horrible and a new face had shown up. Either way you looked at it, his solitude was about to be trudged upon and he would have to deal with one of those inner-demons he was prone to thinking about. The regular Nequus, the ones who were stuck in the bonds of normalicy yet were blackened to the pit of their souls in prejudice and hate. Oh Sanue knew them very well, as most nequus reacted like that Reya mare had the other night. Prone to disagreeing about his mere existance, wanting to snuff him out completely, well, he would not have it this time. Not at all. Unwilling to shed blood upon his sacred rock, his look-out stone as he called it, the hippogriff took a single leap off the face of the large boulder and spread his wings to simply glide down the rest of the way.
"I'm unsure if you're bold or just stupid, but its better than being a coward I suppose." Yes, well Sanue could be just as prejudice as everyone else, especially with stallions. Normally he didn't see himself as rude, but figuring from the meeting before and this fellow's companion from last night, he simply must share the same ideals. However, that was no means to straight out attack the Jala stallion before him, that, he considered, would be quite rude indeed.

Ugh, why did his mind have to carry him to such dark depths of thought? Aitumn wasn't quite sure, but there was another issue was very certain about. Had his memory been intact, no doubt he would have been able to settle the matter without problem, and there would be no need to worry about what might be, and what could have happened. Heck, he probably would have come to resolution with whatever the outcome. As it was though, it was uncertain. his past was uncertain, he didn't have the answers, he didn't know who he was in the past. Could he have been capable of the death of another?
And then a soft voice drew him out of this thoughts, closer than he would have liked, for he had been preoccupied and hadn't noticed the other's approach. It seemed the others words just went right over his head, for Aitumn didn't even comment about the accusation of boldness or stupidity. Surely though, he would have been prone to aggitation if he had. "Ah, well couldn't quite get here until dusk any how." Indeed he sounded rather distant as he observed the other stallion in what light was left; which was quite a bit more than their last meeting. The stallion was grey, a silvery color, and he had feathers along his neck? It was difficult to see, but he was certain that's what it was. Feathers, and along his feet where forehooves should have been? Claws, or talons, whatever they were but they reminded Aitumn quite a bit of a bird's feet. He didn't even register the beak. Had he not been so distracted with his own mind and thoughts, he would have thought the other interesting, but as it was Aitumn was simply indifferent.
"Excuse the rudeness of before. I am Aitumn, and if you wouldn't mind I was told you may be able to help me a bit." Best to be in a good mood from here on out, he didn't want their meeting turning sour. You never knew when who just might have the answers you're looking for.

That had the hippogriff's head tilting slightly to the side, much like a bird's would do in an attempt to study or understand something odd. Fierce olive eyes watched the blood bay stallion known as Aitumn, carefully taking in the unchanging demeanor until his own began to relax. Perhaps he was wrong about this one wanting nothing but trouble, but still it was best to keep his guard up. Inner-demons were tricky to deal with, and though he would return the same level of calmness, he wasn't fully trusting of Aitumn, and unless something in their encounter provided otherwise, he didn't see the need to do so.
"I see. Sanue would be my name, and you shall excuse my rudeness as well." that was a start, and though he was quiet in down and calm in demeanor, there was still the thought of the Reya mare from last night. Sure, Aitumn had left before things had gotten ugly, but there was no denying he had been with her earlier. They obviously knew each other, if extensively then briefly at least. What had been this one's business in coming to his look-out stone in the first place? Olive eyes continued to stare down the blood bay Jala, the wind slightly rustling the feathers along his neck and helping to cool the heat from underneath. "Not sure who told you I may be able to, however go ahead and I try. I have nothing better too." And wasn't that the sad truth? Nothing but sleep anyway, and though Sanue liked sleep, he should think there was something better to do with his life other than closing his eyes and drifting off to a dreamless wonderland.

Rudeness? The dark stallion's dull hallow gaze seemed almost placid in his indifferent demeanor, and he hadn't quite caught onto the 'rudeness' Sanue had spoke of. Huh, well, he missed it so he supposed that was a blessing from the gods above, for he didn't need any more stress in his life right now. He had enough on his plate to deal with, and the sooner he got it done the quicker he could get to spending his time with Cressida and their wonderful little colt. Tucker deserved a life without worry, Aitumn knew that, and he would not allow his loose ends with a stallion he didn't even remember to ruin his son's chance at such a life. Not by a long shot.
At the mention of speaking on his issue Aitumn pricked his ears and allowed his gaze to travel to the odd creature's own eyes, staying their gaze as he spoke. "There is a matter of a large Aeri that I am in the middle of dealing with. However I need to seek him out first and foremost, and was wondering if you had happened to see such a creature as this: large in both height and build, a sort of summer-grass green in coat color, lighter green swirls that cover the coat, crimson eyes, and short mane and tail. If you have, it would be of great use to me if you could tell when and where." That was all he had to say, no small-talk, no nothing. Aitumn needed to get this done, and he was certain the sooner the better.

The hippogriff took in the describtion with only a shake of his feathered head afterwords. Unfortunatly for Aitumn, he hadn't seen anyone of that describtion around the beach, but then against Sanue only stayed at this one northern stretch of sand and water. Quite possibly whoever he was looking for could be hiding somewhere else. "'Fraid not, though I'm only able to tell you about this stretch of beach, considering it is my paradise and little a nequus happen to find themselves here." It really was too bad he wasn't able to help, despite himself and his ideals of inner and outer demons, he took some consideration of this Aitumn fellow. He never spoke of nor addressed the feathered stallion's apperance, in fact he seemed mostly indifferent about anything and everything as far he could tell. It was probably the closest Sanue had ever been to being treated as a normal, and he wasn't quite sure what he thought about that. Sure, his mutations made him a freak of nature, but they also made him who he was, and to have them totally ignored, neither resented nor even acknowledged was quite disturbing.
And that's where curiousity got the best of the feathered wonder, his attention being brought back to Aitumn's issue with the Aeri. He wasn't much of a talker, he didn't like conversation with strangers, but for some reason the blood bay just seemed rather open in both stance and demeanor. Perhaps it was the pricked ears, maybe it was the hallowed eyes, or just maybe it was relaxation of all available muscle tone, but Sanue just continued to talk as he was being listened to for once. Sure, others heard what he had to say, but few seemed to be so focused on what he spoke of. "However I shall keep an eye out if an Aeri of such a describtion comes my way. Yet, before I do so, I would like to know if this would be a meeting as calm as this, or if I shall be risking my neck for a stranger." Always a good thing to know, for if he were to approach such a large Aeri and to be attacked at the mention of Aitumn's name, he would prefer to know before hoof.

It was difficult news to take at first, someone who may have been able to help him and he hadn't known of hide nor tail of the green brute, Zak. Aitumn had held some high hopes in this meeting, hoping that perhaps a perminant resident of the beach would have been able to see something, anything, that may happen to allude to Zaknafein. Then again, perhaps it was good news as well? If Zak wasn't seen along the beach, than most assuredly he hadn't caught on to where they had gotten too, if he was even looking again. Perhaps that shoulder injury would keep him off his feet for awhile, and perhaps Aitumn was worried over nothing. He liked to think so, that was for certain.
Yet as the other spoke up about keeping an eye out for the Aeri, Aitumn couldn't help but give his tail an uneasy flick. He didn't want to drag anyone else into the situation, he most assuredly didn't want to put another, a stranger no less, into harm's way. He had tried to warn Nizhoni quite awhile ago, and wasn't sure if his advice had stuck on the ichsa mare, but he had faith Skittles would have been able to explain things further. Saddly, he didn't know if she had ever met up with the brute again, and if she did how things went. Hopefully she hadn't. And then there was Lucious, a great friend and an interesting Aeri that had known of the situation at the first of it. Hopefully he hadn't gotten into it with Zak neither, despite how Aitumn considered the bone-clad stallion would have faired in a battle with the green brute. But that wasn't his point. Aitumn didn't want to be putting anyone he met, friends and strangers alike, into harms way because he brought up a situation his past may have caused.
"That is unnecisarry, though I appreciate the gesutre, I couldn't put another into harm's away. More so than I already have, for it would indeed be an unpleasant meeting if you happened upon him and mentioned the meeting with myself." That should hopefully do it, and Aitumn had every intention on ending their meeting there, except it didn't quite happen like that.

Refuse his help? He dared refuse the extension respect and curtisy not all that often tossed towards a random stranger? An inner-demon no less! Well, the hippogriff wouldn't have it, wouldn't hear it, wouldn't even consider the option of allowing Aitumn off just as easily as that. "Hardly advisable. I assure you it is necissary and thusly shall be carried out with or without consent. This said, I would like to inquire further on the issue, and I implore you, son of Jala, that I am quite capable of taking of myself if such a meeting turns sour." He paused slightly, the crest of feathers upon his head raising slightly as Sanue gave his stub of a tail an idle flick. "I'm sure my adornments were not lost upon you hallow gaze, as I have a much better chance of defending myself then even you."
That was the truth, and Sanue did not mind throwing it around. His claws had sought flesh before, his beak had ripping into a Nequus more times than he would have liked, and his voice had often reached that of an eagle's scream. He was indeed a fair fighty, a deadly one at that, and would not take his offered help being thrown away so lightly. Modestly, as if a mere Bae had attempted to police a clash of the titans. With a twist of his feathered head off to visit the horizon, he spoke once more. "Again, I implore you to continue your explanation on the situation, so I may be better prepared."

The voice of the other caught his ears as Aitumn was about to turn and be off, in search of perhaps another that would be able to help him. He didn't get one step off in the other direction, not one, for Sanue caught his eye like a silver shadow in the darkening light. What could he say to that? he didn't like the prospect of having another nequus being thrown into this situation, but he didn't have time to argue the point, now did he? And it wasn't up to him to decide the lives of others, that he knew. With a soft snort that could have been sigh, he seemed to give up the fight on not allowing the other to keep a lookout. And besides, there was a chance Zak wouldn't even come up this way, and he supposed it would be best to have another pair of eyes looking for him, now wouldn't it? Unfortunatly so, and he had enough on his plate.
"I suppose you would be correct. As for the situation, you will excuse the withdrawl of certain details, as they are precious to me and most I don't even know myself. However, to the degree of unpleasantness that shall likely be faced by yourself, the drekhallah has attempted and made it very clear that his intention is not only to harm myself, but my... family as well." Family? Aitumn had, of course, refered to Cressida, Tucker, and yes even Rhea as family before, but never aloud. He was unsure as to if Cress would agree or not, but the blood bay sorefully hoped so. When all this was over, when he could finally be rid of the burden that was Zak, then just maybe he would be able to bring it up. For now though, in a situation like this, it just didn't seem right to do. "However we are small in number, myself, a Reya mare, and our son. And as such, there is difficulty in dealing with him."
Aitumn had never really hoped for being part of a herd before, but there was indeed safety in numbers. He would have considered himself lucky if they had a number of nequus to fall back on, but as it was he, Cressida, Rhea, and Tucker were on their own.

Huh, oddly enough, Sanue couldn't help but spread his beaked muzzle into an amused little smile. He hadn't heard that word in quite some time, but it did give him good insight on exactly what kind of fellow he would be dealing with. "Well then, add one more to your little grouping of numbers, I haven't had much to do lately, and I suppose a crusade against a murderous brute is alot better than a nap under the stars while freezing my tail off." Okay, so maybe this guy wasn't so bad, and he did offer him quite the deal in means of keeping himself entertained. On the look-out for a green Aeri, he would be sure to keep himself within range of the beach if that's where Aitumn's little family was staying. A look-out? A scout for those who needed it? It made the hippogriff's smile widen into a full on grin. Oh goody, this would be interesting indeed!
Shifting so the sand pelted over his foreclaws and dug them into their cool grasp, Sanue returned his gaze to Aitumn and gave a brief bob of his head. Indeed, he would make himself a useful ally if he had anything to say about it, and would be sure to comb the beaches for any sign of green Aeris. However, that did not stop him from taking a quick lookover of the other stallion, spying no obvious injuries he had to wonder just how good of a fighter and a protector he was for that son of his. A crossbreed son no less. Perhaps also that's why Sanue wanted to get involved. Crossbreeds were considered freaks by most, quite like himself by inner-demons known as normal nequus. He supposed he felt akin to the little foal, or at least assumed it would be a foal, despite never meeting him.
"Fear not, consider the beaches to be under watchful eyes from now on, Aitumn- son of Jala." He didn't much care for titles and the gods and goddesses, but he felt inclined to add it to this noblehearted soul, for it was he who had orginally set them upon equal ground with one another.

Yes, he supposed he would feel rather at ease to know he didn't have to partrol the beaches in uncertainty if Zak had shown up or not. Whatever Sanue's reasoning over the issue, Aitumn was indeed happy for the help, if not a bit relieved of the fact he had one less duty to carry out in his little mission. "Other than thanks I'm not quite sure what else to say. If you need me for anything, I'm up ahead the beach a few miles or so." Oh he wouldn't tell him the exact location, for they were after all, perfect strangers to one another and their motives. Had he a need to escape or move his family for some reason, he didn't want to put in an exact location on his head.
With this said however, and with how there was still plenty of hours in the night before he needed to return, he figured it was best he continued to check out the beach and perhaps further into the fields. It would be better that way, he knew, just in case he happened upon someone with more information than Sanue had given him. With a dip of his sleek head the Jala shifted his weight once more. "Sorry to cut this short, but I must be on my way. I appreciate the help, Sanue." And indeed that was the truth of the matter.

That was best, the hippogriff figured as Aitumn said his thanks and intended on leaving his company for a second time. Sanue himself wasn't much for conversations with strangers, or with anyone for that matter, and it would be good to end this encounter on a good note before it happens to get stale. And even more so, before he changed his mind on the subject. "Fairwell then." That was quite possibly the best he could come up with, as the hippgriff gave a slight bob of his beaked muzzle and shifted his weight off to the side.
He loved how the sands drifted between his claws, stiffling through the indentions and cooling the thick skin that was his forelegs. Sure, it got hot in the summer, unbearably hot in fact, but during the transtion season between winter and summer there was a mild sensation of perfectness. It was his biased opinion, of course, but Sanue would have none of that now. Oh he thoroughly enjoyed the tiny grains and the shifting of his weight against them, though his only regret was that his hind hooves weren't talons. They were odd to the hippogriff, who was simply infatuated with his foretalons, and he hadn't a clue how any a nequus traveled in the sands with hooves. Their loss, he supposed, and without giving a final look backward at the blood bay Jala, Sanue stifled any further communications and took to an easy lope back to his look-out rock.
It was, after all, dusk and it would be better for him to get some sleep before tomorrow's work. Heh, work, if you can call playing look-out work. He figured he'd rather enjoy the task of helping this poor fellow.

Aitumn returned the bob of the head, but after that the stallion was on his own once more, craning his neck around and leading the rest of his body to do the same. He still had some time, he might be able to come across another nequus who may perhaps know of the green Aeri brute. He hoped so at least, for Aitumn wasn't one to enjoy the surprise visits of the Zak, and he would be sure to be prepared this time.
Giving an idle flick of his lengthy midnight tail, the stallion was off in the other direction once more, kicking his gears up to an easy canter and away from the shoreline. Best to check out the more grassy areas, for he doubted anyone would have appeared on the beach during his brief encounter with the feathered stallion Sanue. But, how far was it to the grassy areas? He couldn't quite see over the hilly dunes of sand, and he would much rather be back with Tucker the sooner the better. But to risk straining something while chancing a run in the sands? He hadn't been to the beach often enough to get use to the way it sucked and pulled at his hooves, and he wasn't quite sure he could fully trust his body after the beating he had received from Zaknafein last time. Yet, his urge to see Tucker, his need to be sure of the safety in the area, spurred him into greater feats of speed. Screw his body, if he didn't get there quick enough he may his chance on getting some valueable information, and that he would not forgive; be it his fault or anothers. So, with an easy transition of gears, the stallion kicked it up till he was in a gallop with lengthy strides that ate up the distance.
That said, he was much more alert than he had been previously. Ears pricked to pick up the sounds of dangerously shifting sands, hallow eyes scanning the area for trouble spots along the way, and neck muscles tensed in case of the need to swivel his gaze around quickly. Hopefully, hopefully he could find someone with some information that could be helpful to his cause.
