Sunrise River

Shade Occupied... sort of.

The Sunrise river runs from the lake all the way through the vale. A quaint stone bridge helps connect the Crescent and Blazing plains.

Thanks to the dam the river is running quite sluggish

Due to the destruction of the dam, the river has flooded its banks. The bridge is submerged, and the water is rushing; crossing would be difficult to impossible to do with the river like this.

Fortunately, the broken pieces of the dam have formed a bridge to the north, in the lake...

Going to the Crescent Plains would mean dealing with the embankment defences as well as various traps laid out. It would also mean a swim, and worrying about being impaled on sharpened spikes under the water.
  • Head to the rocky lake.

Just a hop skip and a jump from the Blazing Plains where she had just escaped the conflict going on. There might have been people chasing, she did not particularly care, she was still not quite far enough from them.

So anyone in the area would be privvy to a green tiger flying onto the screen with a yellow-poncho adorned women clinging to it's back fiercely. As in tight enough that it was amazing the thing did not suffocate.

There did not seem to be much intention of stopping going on with her either. At this rate they would probably end up plowing right into the Rocky lake.

Hopefully she would realize this before it happened...but the audience is not optimistic.

Well she kept on going like an idiot.

Man that tiger was fast at a dead run. It was starting to show signs of being tired or at least the supernatural equivilant. So she would probably be stopping soon.

But not in this place, no sirree.

    Onward to the Rocky Lake...

A man covered in green furry mold, put a bloody hand through his raven hair. A single headphone was inside his ear, playing a song from his mp3 player watch. He was not alone, and thankful for that in this chaos. He humed along with the music as he continued down the river, and to the ruins that he had been requested to investigate.

And so Veronica boogied along through after the guy who was pretty much the brains of this operation. Probably the brawn too.

Why was she even here again?
Ah well, not like anyone really cared about the answer.

    Onward!

She was literally skipping after him, yellow poncho bouncing with her movements, looking for all the world like a nuclear waste disposal agent with her gaudy purple goggles, surgical mask, and yellow poncho. The black clothes beneath only served to aid this image.

As the enormous rush of water came through, the river swelled out of its banks. The flooding would likely continue for a few days.

He looked no different from a log, or a pile of floating debris. But he was most definitely human, human and alive. Lying face-up, on his back, Hein floated down the Sunrise River, the current dragging him along with the breaking of the dam. The swift current forced his unconcious form against a rooted tree, the great willow groaning against his weight as another piece of wood smacked against his shoulder, illiciting a groan from Hein as he was spun off of the tree and onto the flooded banks.

And there he lay, breathing, though barely, living, though still.

Flare, clinging to a makeshift raft, was tossed down the river by the current. It was not a good day.

    (Time Paradox :s)

Eeringly enough, that same river was being occupied with bodies aplenty apparently.

Not just the bodies of adventurers, but even mining employees, those killed from before or newly drowned to death by the flooding.

And in their midst, floated Vahn.

Eint, bearing his Sey-like burden, drifted along the river's course, as the White Mage slowly became aware of the world around her.

Flare wasn't in any state to notice anyone else, including the corpse that brushed up against her, as she was swept toward the lakeside ruins.

    "...ugh...Lady...Luck sav-koff...saved...me again..."

Lifting his right arm up, Hein clenched his fist, his water-logged clothes clinging tight to him as the rest of his body was numb. In pain or just from shock? He neither knew, nor did he want to know. Turning his gaze to the river, he could see bodies; miners, mages, heroes, and heroines, all floating down the same path, not as enemies, but as individuals cheated of their lives.

Then he saw her. It was just a glimpse, but he knew it had to be her. It was that annoying b***h of a white mage. God damn her to Hell! If it hadn't for her, he might've been able to kill that Rook beast. If it hadn't been for her and her damn healing, they might have survived.

    "...damn flat-chested whore...even if it's the last thing I do...I'll kill her..."

Reaching to his side, Hein pulled out his two-way, the only thing on him that wasn't completely waterlogged. Fiddling with the dials he coughed as he spoke into it, relaying a message back to HQ.

"Q...this is Hein Griever. My current location...is the western bank of the Sunrise River. Send back-up immediatly...back-up...and workers to claim the area...Hein, out."

On moldy surfboard, down came the super hero known as Mozz. Wet and covered in green fur, his tank top ripped and his jeans pierced in many places. He seemed to be quite enjoying himself as the went down the river, smiling and moving his long raven hair out of his face. His redwood eyes looking for an exit, he flowed past, to the mill.

Sunstrike sprinted along the embankment at full pace, hoping to find a place to rest amonst the ruins, and not really paying attention to the irritating itch at the back of his mind.
