Something shook the ground . . . it was something large.
Niflhel paused, looking around the cemetery grounds to see if he could locate the source of the shaking. It didn't take long for the knight to see something lumbering towards him. The creature was a large and black as a void, it took a moment to realize it was in the shape of a mastiff but it towered over him. If he had to guess the creature was about 30 foot tall. It's eyes locked on him, blazing red and the creature looked angry as it barred it's yellowed fangs.
"SNOWBALL~" Niflhel called as he backed up. Gripping his weapon as the meteor hammer appeared in his hand.
Snowball's ears perked quickly and he came running, having powered up into Sailor Snowball. "Oh hell, what is that??"

(9+1= 10 Damage) It wasn’t a question whether Tempesti would answer the call offworld. Even if her allies hadn’t shown her such generosity when she asked for help, it would only be right. As the senshi followed the pull, she found herself in the darkness of an unfamiliar world pierced by a pair of familiar voices.
She’d never been to Saturn, but considering the presence of the other two she could only guess that she’d landed in Niflhel. On Niflhel in a cemetery with a gigantic dog attempting to eat the wonder’s knight and his Mauvian companion. Giant hungry crabs certainly looked less menacing when compared to this…less than friendly resident.
Unwilling to waste any time attempting to answer her own questions about why there was an enormous and frankly alarming dog here, she charged toward them “Harrowing Storm!”
Quote:
Sailor Tempesti raises her arms, bringing forth a group of ethereal harpies. Their wingbeats whip up a powerful, swirling wind crackling with electricity before dispersing it around her, creating a small electrical storm that reduces visibility drastically and stuns enemies within the area of effect.
Range -- A circle, 15 feet in diameter and centered on Sailor Tempesti
Of course there was another ******** distress call and of course he was going to go because if there was going to be a shitshow he wanted a front row seat. It was always a good way to chase away the boredom for a few hours.
A dramatic groan escaped the deep space senshi as he let the sensation pull him loose from the glass and concrete of the city. “Gleeful Bacchanal!”
Quote:
Sailor Bacchus throws his arms out in a welcoming gesture, and a shining mist spreads forth from between his arms as up-tempo music begins to play. Enemies engulfed in the mist finds themselves compelled to join in the revelry, overwhelmed with a sense of powerful, disorienting giddiness that pushes aside other thoughts and makes it very difficult to engage in combat. Through force of will, they may be able to shake the feeling and resume combat.
Range -- A circle, 10 feet in diameter centered on Sailor Bacchus
Answering the distress signal was a no-brainer, regardless of whatever else she had going on, and Ekstrom soon found herself looking off toward a large graveyard at a rather horrible sight--Niflhel and Snowball versus what was probably the biggest dog...creature...thing--it couldn't be a real dog, right?--she'd seen in her life. Two figures had gone ahead of her already, and she followed after them, weighing her options quickly as she went.
Not much came to mind. Her magic wasn't likely to be useful unless it used magical attacks, and darting straight into it didn't seem like the greatest idea considering it could probably kill her just by stepping on her with one of its gigantic paws. She considered her shield and wondered if throwing it would be a good idea...
Though it wouldn't boomerang back to her like a certain superhero's, so maybe not.
The knight groaned and bent down to scoop up some large-ish stones along her path, chucking them at the thing as she made her way towards the Saturn knight and Mauvian. "You guys okay?" she asked as she moved to Niflhel's side, eyes still on the creature as she threw one last stone. "What is that thing? And..." Looking sideward at her fellow knight, she spotted what was in his hands and nodded toward it, her usual curiosity taking over for a moment.
Of course Amoris had answered the distress call. There were too many of them lately that he'd been unable to do anything about for one reason or another, but this one? He could do something about this one. Even though Teegan had immediately powered up and insisted on coming with him. Even though Tobias had insisted he didn't need a babysitter.
'Let him come with you.' Diryas' voice had been firm and level, and Tobias had capitulated, knowing this was an argument he wasn't going to win. Diryas was teaching minimester courses at the university that semester, which meant it was already past midterms, and he was stuck grading papers. Tobias knew that Diryas would have rather come with him, and that Teegan was in essence being sent as a proxy.
Not that Teegan needed to be sent as a proxy, as he had immediately powered up into Emain Ablach and given Tobias that look. That look. That one. The one that made Tobias groan and roll his eyes and power up into Amoris so they could get going.
And now they were here, on Saturn, facing down... that.
Maybe Amoris couldn't be faulted for shoddy aim, but he could be faulted for running up to the giant dog in the first place. Emain Ablach had hurried after him, cursing Amoris' long legs and lack of heavy wooden shield. "Wait! Amoris!" The last thing he needed was for the dog to take Amoris out while Emain Ablach was still combobulating onto the terrain.
Speaking of, the decorating had a certain... je ne sais quoi. Were all Saturn wonders like this? It was so different from Emain Ablach's wonder that it would have taken him aback for a moment if he had the time to spare to keep Amoris from getting eaten. Panting as he caught up to Amoris, Emain Ablach positioned himself in between the pink moon knight and the monstrous canine. He did not miss the way Amoris rolled his eyes, but he opted not to comment on it.
This time.
There would be commentary later, of that much he was certain.
For now, Emain Ablach picked up his shield a bit higher and kicked out at the giant dog.

haracter: La Brea HP: 40 Action: Arrival/ATTACK THE BEAST
La Brea had only come because Limosa was there to watch the boys. They'd both gotten a distress signal for Order and La Brea had Limosa keep her little brothers with her in lockdown - she was stgronmger than his power, and would protect the children if he was... Well. Besides that as another Saturn Knight, somehow, it felt right to support another knight of Saturn, even if La Brea was a page.
The opage arrived and for a moment he almost felt his wonder tug, but no - it was a fleeting wonder he even appeared elsewhere oin Saturn. He didn't need to know anyone to do the rigfht bloody thing and help.
And he had blood under his nails already.
La Brea moved with a predator's walk and cold eyes. He moved firmly and calmly, following the aura of wrongness chaos gave him, a stalk that spoke of determination and calm. It wasnb't cockiness, nor was it the defiance of one feeling invincible. La Brea reflected no emotion but determination, a cold resiulve. If the worst happened his daugvhter would raise her brothers. He willed that.,
Buty someone had to help and he was the best of the two to act. As La Brea sighted the monster, his stalk became a sprint, the black rose in his fiongers clasped fiormly as La Brea lunged at top sp[eed and with alarming grace, he leapt for it, kicking to try lashing oput with full force.
He was tghe weapon.
If anyone wants top interact with La Brea don't be shy he's chill.
Character: Iðavöllr Page of Polaris HP: 40/40 Action: Staring at the Grim with a "wth" expression on her face
It had only been chance that her cousin was even still in Destiny City, given that he had originally planned to fly back to the UK a couple of days earlier, but then her part in the event that had taken her out of town had wrapped up earlier than expected and Arian had agreed to delay push his flight back for a little while longer–
And whilst a part of Saffron had wished that he'd managed to squeeze out a bit longer than just a few extra days, she wasn't about to complain - because it had been nice seeing her cousin in person rather than through a conference call.
Liryn had unexpectedly dropped in too, and Saffron had been cuddling the small tabby mauvian in her lap when the call came.
It had come without warning, threaded a note of urgency that she couldn't ignore, a side glance at Arian suggesting that her cousin had heard it too - or else was going a good impression of pretending he had.
And whilst it wasn't the first time that she'd found herself yanked offworld and powered up as Iðavöllr, it was certainly the first time that she had found herself looking out on a field in what appeared to look unsettlingly like some sort of grave yard–
The giant dog‑like creature off in the distance wasn't helping either.
Whilst it was true that Arian had only still been in Destiny City by chance, and the call unexpected, there was never any real possibility of him ignoring it–
Not with the urgency threaded through it.
It seemed like they had ended up looking out over on a field in the middle of some sort of grave yard, with him powered up as Athene, Saffy powered up as Iðavöllr and a large dog-like creature and two figures out in the distance–
A large dog-like creature that, from the looks of it, appeared to be in the middle of attacking one of the figures.
It took longer than Athene would care to admit to remember who else had been with him and his cousin, a growl from the small mauvian finally snapping his attention back as he tried to make an belated grab for Liryn–
But his mauvian friend had already slipped past his reach, darting off in a streak of bristling fur and outrage as he made a determined beeline in the direction of the two figures, and by extension the massive dog-like creature looming over them.
Athene exchanged a glance with Iðavöllr before taking off after Liryn, who it seemed had at least taken the opportunity to pause and switch to his mauvian human form before continuing on towards the Grim.
Character: Mauvian Liryn (Human form) HP: 50/50 Action: Switching to mauvian human form, heading in the direction of the Grim
As with Athene, there had been no possibility of Liryn ignoring the call.
But whilst Iðavöllr and Athene were still staring at the huge dog-like creature, Liryn had already been bristling, fur puffed out along his spine and his short tail ramrod-straight as he took in the canine-like insult that was daring to attack one of the two figures out in the distance.
A low, offended growl vibrated in his chest, his whiskers rigid with outrage, as a chant of 'how dare it' echoed in his mind, the insult not to be borne as took off towards the Grim and by extension the figure it was threatening in a streak of righteous feline fury.
Liryn had made it several paw lengths before remembering that he could do the hands thing, and that hands might be useful in helping to deliver the lesson that he had every intention of teaching the canine-like insult.
He came to a stop, pausing for long enough to switch forms, as the mauvian human form replacing that of the cat, his tabby ears still flattened in pure unfiltered outrage as he resumed his beeline towards the dog-like creature.
It was odd coming out of a fog into another, into a stress signal from a knight he didn't know into a world he did not understand. This place looked darker than the burial rites of those of the land in the older days of his world before it was consumed by the unending rot.
Since he was here, his responsibility was clear. Perhaps he should attempt to use his ability to help; perhaps it would do nothing at all.
Promethei had been in a completely different spot when he had received the signal, working on picking up a few bags from an application that helped with not wasting food. Glancing down at his ring earned some assorted grumblings as he carried the food back toward his car. A legal parking spot for the duration, hopefully, as he shifted to shove food into his subspace pocket before responding to the call.
It was expected and unsurprising to see Emain Ablach and Amoris there. Even more expected to see Emain Ablach set to defend.
Didn't stop Promethei from running up behind them and standing to Emain Ablach's left.
"Funny to see y'all here!" He swung his weapon in the direction of the ... creature. Was Saturn just like this?

(I used the wrong dice tbh but they're both results they could've gotten with their normal dice so I'm just going with it-)
Character: x Odainsaker HP: 50 Action: Curiously watching the Grim before running into to attack.
Odainsaker had been working on her latest costume when she felt the pull of the distress signal. Not wasting time she answered to find herself on Saturn at some wonder where they seemed to be in a graveyard. It was quite different than her own -- and yet. She was staring at the large monster.
She was awe'd by how large this creature was and there were two figures fighting it with others running into the battle head first. She wasn't sure if she would do well to run in headlong without considering what she had to offer. So she hung back just a bit pulling her bo staff out of it's subspace spot.
She took a moment before circling in to aim an attack at the creature's legs.

Character: x Niflhel HP: 60 Action: Answering Esktrom Damage: 1
Niflhel glanced over his shoulder as he felt energy signatures appear. There was clear relief when he saw familiar faces and some that weren't already coming to assist.
"We are now." He responded to Esktrom when she asked if they were okay. He glanced over to Snowball who's tail was clearly puffed out.
"That?" He paused glancing up at the creature, "Some sort of Chaos dog?? Not sure, the ground started to shake then this thing came out from the woods over yonder."
He motioned towards where some of the trees had been knocked over.
He gave a quick swing of the meteor hammer before giving a sidelong look at Ekstrom, "Oh it's the Meteor hammer, this was what the code updated my weapon to before the whole harold battle thing." He gave a soft shrug, "Just a chain and shackles -- were outdated I guess?"
He gave a swing of the meteor hammer towards the creature's leg.
Character: Kaifeng, Transcended Knight of Saturn HP: 60 Action: arriving and throwing a forgotten spell at the giant mastiff. Damage: 3 + 1 (transcended) = 4
Getting distress calls while out on patrol (or while searching for where Heibing/Thalassa had run off to this time, such as the case was tonight) didn’t always happen. Whenever it did, though, Kaifeng preferred to respond when he could. He still hadn’t found his wayward housemate, so part of him didn’t want to abandon that search. But first of all, Heibing would probably react a little bit better if someone else found him, or if he got to shamble back home in his own time. Secondly of all, there was always a chance that Heibing would be powered up, and that Thalassa would also respond to a distress call.
Third, and most importantly of all, the distress call was coming from another Saturn Knight.
Kaifeng didn’t need to ask any questions about who they were or what was waiting on the other side. He only needed to close his eyes and follow the call, letting it pull him off. While Saturn’s perpetual twilight was familiar, he didn’t recognize the Wonder. He only vaguely noticed a few faces that felt familiar. Maybe Kaifeng had seen some of them before? Well, it didn’t need to matter now. Everyone could talk to each other later, after the glaring, obvious problem—the massive, dinosaur-sized mastiff looming before them all—had been addressed. With the Saturn symbol and the skeletal outlines on the backs of his hands glowing, Kaifeng called on the magic that he’d found on the old Saturnian scroll up at his wonder, that time with Helene.
If it wasn’t the best attack—if maybe he could have hit his target with more certainty—then that would simply need to be alright for now. There was no way that a monster this big would go down so easily, so Kaifeng could bring more to his attacks later.
Quote:
Forgotten Spell: Kaifeng swings his weapon at a single target within a 20-foot radius. The target is knocked back by a burst of air, cold as death. When hit by the chill, the target is seized by a brief but powerful feeling that they have died and no one cared. This attack has three uses.

Character: x Snowball HP: 60 Action: Checking the surrounding - excited to see Liryn Damage: 8
Snowball hadn't expected a fellow Mauvian to show up but he was glad they had. His tail was fluffed out from the sudden appearance of the grim. The fact Liryn had shifted from cat to human made Snowball nod. "Oi, long time no see! Don't let the thing eat you, I don't know where the hell it came from."
The mauvian decided to throw out at an attack at the creature summoning three large snowflakes that he threw at the creature hoping to actually hit it in the face.

tabSnow Bomb Snowball calls his attack and summons again 3 large magical snowflakes. He can throw the snow flakes at the same target or 3 different targets. When the snowflake strikes they burst into a fine flurry around the intended target. This leaves the intended target's vision limited and a mild sensation of cold creeping into their bones as if they had walked into snowfall without a coat. The attack lasts 35 seconds and can be used 2 times, there can be a lingering cold sensation after the attack ends.
Character: Eternal Murikabushi HP: 60 Action: showing up and attacking the beast. Damage: 1 + 1 (article of strength) = 2
Quote:
Eternal Senshi Attack: “Hunger’s Hollow.” Enemies within 20 feet become wracked by the feeling of extreme hunger and deprivation, the sort where you feel drained and empty, like simply existing is too much effort. Physically, they will feel an empty stomach, body aches, and hunger pangs (however those feel for them) that refuse to be tuned out. These pains are accompanied by desperation to satiate a hunger within them (which can be for anything: food, drink, affection/intimacy, alcohol or narcotics, the answers to the math homework, etc.), but a sense that they will never be satisfied. Targets may also experience any combination of: dizziness, disorientation, emotional hypersensitivity, inability to focus, increased anger, decreased impulse control, decreased emotional control/regulation, and/or feelings similar to depression.
The magic ends after 45 seconds, but characters may experience lingering side-effects at player discretion. Murikabushi may use this attack once per battle (twice with Metallic Bracelet IC permanent item).
