Personality: Willow follows her heart and emotions. If something is worth reacting to, then it is surely worth overreacting to! If a friend asks her for a favor, she’ll readily help. If a stranger asks her to come into the shop, she’s heading right in. Life is too full of amazing things to be too cautious! It gets her into all sorts of trouble, but also so much fun.
At her core, Willow is a romantic soul. For her, love is about more than that special bond with one person. Love for her family, love for her friends, love for animals, love for the world around her.. She embraces everyone and everything as a companion worthy of affection. While she loves easily, she also can break easily. Having her open heart betrayed leaves a scar that makes earning her trust again extremely difficult.
All in all, Willow loves life. She is eager to experience as much of it as she can. Life gets tedious if she doesn’t experience something new on the regular. Her father’s work as a doctor also factors into this desire to live life to its fullest. She has heard far too many stories about lives cut short; particularly that of her mother. Rather than making her fear the world, she is driven to experience as much as she can.

Starting History:
Willow is the only child of Dyshar and Ulina. Ulina was a lumber mill technician who met an untimely demise during a work related accident. Willow had only been six years old at the time, and the transition for her and her father was far from easy. Dyshar was a busy man between his medical practice and being a single father. He buried himself in his work while Willow was left to take care of herself most of the time. She hated being home alone so much, so she often left to seek out someone, anyone, to talk to. When he eventually learned of Willow’s travels, Dyshar tried to impress upon his daughter how dangerous the world could be; that staying home was much safer. Instead of keeping her home though, the stories only drove Willow to explore even more. In her mind, she didn’t want to miss out should something terrible ever happen to her down the road. Despite their opposing views, they still have a loving relationship as only a father and daughter can have.

“This is non-negotiable, Willow. Your future is hanging in the balance, not to mention my reputation. Dr. Malco has very generously agreed to take you on as an apprentice from a very broad pool of applicants, and you will not let such an opportunity go to waste. You know, most kids your age have already started their apprenticeships or are working in their chosen fields…”
It just was not fair! She didn’t want to be a doctor. It was a less than glamorous job, to say the least. Sit around nose deep in someone’s infected armpit or dig through some bloody abdominal wound? No thanks. Get yelled at by some hick who thinks they know more about healing than her? Aggravating. Pull a foreign object out of a guy’s a** for the third time in a row? Ugh! None of that appealed to her.
She didn’t mind working for her father at the clinic, and was skilled with the basics, but she had never felt any desire to do that for the rest of her life. So what if she had the magic at her fingertips? There was a whole world out there to explore and experience, and she couldn’t do that if she was stuck in a clinic. She had made her intentions quite clear over the years!
Unfortunately, she didn’t have any other ideas to follow through with. She didn’t know what she wanted to do with her life, always just out having fun when she wasn’t working! She hadn’t bothered looking around at anything else with any level of seriousness either. Why couldn’t she wait longer to decide for herself? Did she really need to decide on the rest of her life right now?
Ah, but maybe she didn’t! Maybe she could use this for more than just the apprenticeship. She was moving to a larger city for this work, and no father would be there to lecture her in her time off. There would be so much to see and experience in the big city! Surely she would be inspired while living away from home for a while. She would give this silly apprenticeship a fair go for the sake of her father and show off a little healing power, but her true calling was bound to be discovered outside of the overly-sterile clinic walls!
