One Abyss
Debriefing RP Post 1 (of 3)

Faustite

As participants to the last mission filtered into the old training room, Faustite stood at the fore on the raised floor. He paced while the invited members – those who could attend and were hale enough to do so – claimed the various mismatched chairs that had been procured for the purpose of the debriefing. Instead of refreshments, a few of their medical staff were on standby to perform triage where necessary, and ensure that the injured in attendance would not suffer for it.

When it seemed the majority had settled, Faustite began speaking. "On the 19th at 0600, we embarked on a mission into the Scar to learn why youma had vanished from the area, and what the purpose was for the building that was discovered inside the Scar. You're here because you want the results of that endeavor." As he spoke, he gestured with one hand; the other was kept in a sling.

"We accomplished all objectives of the mission. We had learned that youma were avoiding the area because they thought the youma that had taken up residence there vanished. They hadn't – they were victim of General Galvorn's standing orders that became perceptible to them once an earthquake unearthed the building. These standing orders were to continue crafting weapons, which induced the youma to work in the forges within the building. Some aspect of the building prevented their auras from being perceived, so it appeared as though a large number of youma had disappeared.

"As to the building's purpose, it was a weapon manufacturing plant from an unknown time period. Nonmagical weapons and magical traps were produced by the Negaverse under the plant supervision of General Galvorn. Some evidence suggests that the building was originally owned by the knights and was later taken by force and converted into a factory. The timestamps for the records were all glitched, so we cannot place when this factory had been active. I suspect this was due in part to the time magic used in the facility. The building, as it stands, poses no threat to us now."

Faustite slowed to a stop. "If you have questions before I go on, ask and I'll explain what we've found."

Hello, everyone heart

As with the briefing, the debriefing will be a low-stakes, stress-free short RP where characters can ask their unanswered questions and get clarification on some of the things that happened during the event. Faustite doesn't have all the answers, so if you would like to know something that he doesn't know, please DM me! At the end, there will be a reveal for two more mechanics.

Due to this, if your character is purifying and/or giving information to Order, I ask that you excuse them from this RP. Order will find out eventually, I promise heart

There will be three main posts. Posts will happen every 48 hours, so the next post will occur roughly 9P EST on 01/13/23.

Tama didn’t want to look at Faustite, think about Faustite or even be in the same room as Faustite, and yet… here he was.

It seemed Tama’s need for information — for closure — superseded any other of his instincts, even his need to protect his dignity.

“Remind me.” Tama stayed to the back of the room, farthest from the general, his arms folded and his back against the wall. “What were those objectives?” His words were laced in venom even if his equally poisonous glare was aimed at the floor and finding only his bare feet.

The corrupt had opted to ignore one of the many seats provided to them and instead took up a spot against a wall. Arms and ankles crossed, Heliodor lazily leaned as he watched people mill in and take up their desired spots. Some chose seats, others did not, but everyone looked interested to hear what the mission had gotten them.

Faustite was clear and concise with his words as he addressed the room. Helio nodded at the mention of questions. Tama was quick to throw his voice out there. The vitriol seasoning the tone of the words was enough to cause Helio's brows to furrow. He was used to Tama's sass and obstinate remarks, but something seemed off here. Well, it actually wouldn't be surprising if the two had gotten into yet another tiff with each other that was coloring the mauvians tone. Time typically was the answer to these and if it was truly bad there was no doubt that their dear General would take care of it.

But, Helio had his own question to voice. "Did we have no records of this place existing and what was happening there?" Considering that no one had seemed to know about this place and a mission was sanctioned made Helio wonder.

General Aquamarine

From a chair toward the front, Aquamarine said, “s**t like that’s why I drink.”

He jerked a thumb backward, in the direction of the cat. Toma? Tamo? Tomato? (Tama.) It didn’t matter. Cats were a nuisance even when they were making themselves useful by demonstrating their technical acumen. Seeing as he had no Senshi under his command and he had little use for much tech beyond his tablet, Aquamarine rarely had reason to bother with the Mauvians.

“Thought the cats were supposed to be smart,” Aquamarine said, half turned toward Jet, voice not quite low enough to be a whisper. Maybe it traveled. Maybe it didn’t. Aquamarine wouldn’t care either way. “What’s that one need a reminder for? Faustite’s just gone over the mission objectives.”

With no refreshments on offer, Aquamarine brought his own. He would have brought his own regardless — not for any distrust or lack of appreciation, but because, on the occasions when refreshments were on offer, they typically weren’t strong enough to keep Aquamarine pleasant while the rank and file demonstrated their incompetence. This was no party. Alcohol didn’t usually have a place at a debriefing.

Aquamarine made a place for it, there in his chair beside Jet. He thought it a well-deserved reward. Without it, he might be compelled to stab the first person to stick a toe out of line. He didn’t even bother to conceal it in a different beverage this time. Instead, he drank straight from the bottle. It wasn’t as if he’d be disciplined for it. If the rest of these ******** weren’t properly disciplined for their s**t behavior, then the powers that be shouldn’t have a problem with him. He paid attention. He did his job. (He caught a Princess once. He let Jet take the credit for it, but he didn’t think Jet would deny that it might not’ve been possible without Aquamarine).

Besides, he was married to a General King. That came with a bit of leniency.

Aquamarine offered the bottle to Jet, Mr. Stickler For Rules Who Nonetheless Would’ve Let His Lover Get Away With Murder.

“Want some?”

Captain Roselite

Roselite claimed a chair somewhere in the middle of the pack — not so close to the back that he seemed to be avoiding the crowd, but not so close to the front that he’d feel as if all eyes were on him either. (Logically, he knew all eyes would be — should be — on Faustite, but anxiety had a way of suppressing rational thought.)

His posture was atrocious. He hunched in on himself, a nervous gaze cast on the back of the chair in front of him. He listened, but couldn’t meet anyone’s eye. He felt out of place, out of his element, and then felt pathetic that his element was behind a desk shuffling papers, or making coffee.

One leg bounced up and down. Hands fidgeted in his lap, twiddling thumbs or picking at nails.

Ultimately, the mission was a success. They accomplished what they went for. No one died in the process.

Roseltie still felt like a failure.

------------

Eternal Cymophane

“So are you ever going to tell me about you and Faustite?” Cymophane whispered, leaning much farther into Taenite’s personal space than was strictly necessary.

The debriefing was already off to a questionable start, as far as Cymophane could tell. Faustite should have everything well in hand; maybe he could be volatile, but he wasn’t an idiot. But there was already snarling from the back of the room, and Aquamarine was drinking. The latter probably wouldn’t have been an issue under most circumstances; Aquamarine was so much more pleasant when he drank. Less likely to snap. Almost flirty, with the right people. Alas, Cymophane didn’t have as much confidence when it came to the one doing the snarling.

Maybe everything would be fine. Tensions always ran high during missions. The aftermath would either be a continuation of that, or the tension would inevitably putter out. People were stressed. Tired. Injured.

Cymophane was none of those three.

“I can’t believe you kept it from me to begin with. You always seemed like the type to kiss and tell. I thought for sure you were trying to get with Axinite and would crow about it if you managed it.”

General King Jet

So far, the questions being asked were ones that should have been asked during the initial briefing, or if they listened to Faustite they would have had their answer already.

Jet sat next to Aquamarine, arms crossed casually over his chest. He wasn’t looking forward to the paperwork involved, but since he’d been the one to actually sign off on this mission happening in the first place, he was relieved that they’d not only succeeded in finding the answers they were looking for, but that no one had died. Injured, yes. But everyone had volunteered and knew that the Rift was dangerous and deadly, especially if they had been a part of the last mission to the Scar.

Whatever was going on with the two who spoke up, he was sure that Faustite could handle it.

As for Aquamarine drinking… Jet gave him a slightly exasperated look, but then took the bottle from him to take a drink.

"Thanks," he said as he handed it back. He didn't have much to say at the moment, although he could have said a lot in the right setting. Maybe a drink would help keep him occupied.

"Don't know why causing a scene during a debriefing is necessary." Especially this debriefing when everything during the mission went as smoothly as possible, in his opinion.

Super Taenite

“Hey now, I’m still working on Axinite, but you’ll be the first to know if I do,” Taenite winked as he leaned closer to Cymophane for a moment.

It was probably for the best that he was next to Cymophane and not within reaching distance of anyone on Faustite’s team. He kept his eyes ahead, because it was the only thing he could do without telling the Mauvian to get out, and for Heliosaur to get his head out of his a**.

He didn’t care if Faustite loved the other Senshi. People could be in love with any number of people who are bad for them. And Taenite was unimpressed by both the other Senshi’s impulsivity and apathy.

“Once upon a time, Faustite didn’t have his harem,” he did share with Cymophane, leaning close again. “Didn’t know how lonely he was until I started flirting with him during the meeting for that daytime reconnaissance mission we both went on. The one that ended up in flames.”

Eternal Kamacite

Kamacite was quiet as he approached where Roselite was sitting. He was back to his normal human self, although he wasn’t sure if he preferred being able to stay out of sight easier as a youma. Maybe he would take advantage of it more often, now that he knew the results.

He sat down next to Roselite and reached out for his hand, trying to get him to at least breathe.

It would be inappropriate to give him a hug, but he intended on doing just that once they were all dismissed.

Aside from having to work with Aquamarine, and almost being burnt to a crisp, Kamacite was feeling pretty good about the results of the mission. He hadn't been injured, at least. He was concerned about Faustite, but there was only so much he could do without being annoying with his fussing.

Captain Seraphinite

Aquamarine wasn't the only one who took notice this was a BYOB kind of gathering. Seraphinite let out a slow sigh through his nose, tapping his fingers absently against a large, industrial looking thermos (with a few wood stain marks and what might have been tool marks towards the bottom of the battered cup). He brought it up to his mouth and took a swing. Coffee felt like a necessity for him lately. The perk-up might have only been a placebo effect at this point, from the amount he drank, but the heat and smooth taste felt wonderful nonetheless. Still gave him something to appreciate as he re-focused himself to the debriefing.

When Aquamarine made the quip about Mauvians, Seraphinite gave a light snort. "Depends on the cat. They vary in usefulness worse than agents." He'd been rather fond of one, once, so the man largely didn't mind the felines. He was a bit confused by the more hostile tone he was hearing, though. His brow furrowed as he tried to think if he'd heard of any grim result of the mission, or any failure. None came to mind, but he knew he wasn't on a higher list of need to know. He could only assume something had occurred after the fact, something at least bad enough to sour the rest of the success of the mission. A shame--the information they'd picked up seemed rather fascinating, if... concerning for why the knights would have had access to a place so deep in the Rift.

Leaning back somewhat in his seat on the other side of Jet, he rested his forearms on his thighs, thermos dangling in his hands. The dull metal caught the light, highlighting small dings and tool marks from getting tossed around a workshop too many times. Still in one solid piece, though, no holes, perfectly suitable to keep functioning as a good thermos. Any questions he had were about the current progress on handling the data from the place, or how much had been recovered--if any. But those were subjects he figured it was better to wait and see if Faustite brought up in the debrief. So he could just take another ship of coffee, savoring the warmth and dark flavor. Helped to push back the chill of thoughts that lingered at the back of his mind, memories of what it'd felt like to face against the old, partially youmafied General. It'd hardly been thrilling to realize there was no way to peacefully take out the Negaverse agent. Not that he'd been overly convinced there was in the first place. Someone being frozen for so long, even by magic... surely they wouldn't have enough of themselves left after all that? Though, he did seem to have something left to him.

"How're you feeling?" The muttered words were directed to Jet, pale eyes flickering over to him. Sure, it took a lot more to take down a General King than others, but Ilian was still Ilian.

Super Rigel

Rigel yawned from the chair behind Seraphinite's, a barely stifled sound as he brought his arm up a tad late. His jaw popped somewhat from the large extension, and he winced a bit, rubbing at the back corner of his face. His lids were heavy, and it was conscious effort to keep them open and himself aware. Gross. The whole sensation was gross. Been a long while since he'd felt it, too. Apparently, he'd done more running around than he was used to, and his body was objecting to the level of exhaustion. Well that was just sad. He'd have to see about doing some exercises... not a very exciting prospect, but. Beat feeling like he was about to fall asleep. He'd be willing to make some sacrifices of his time if it meant being rid of this exhaustion in future investigations--or at least, he hoped there would be future investigations. The trip to the Rift originally had seemed like a mixed bag to him in terms of interest, but oh had he been amazingly wrong in that assumption! It'd been a wonder, a real adventure and delving into fascinating tidbits of history within the Rift.

How had the knights gotten in there? Who had originally started the facility? How had the knights' sigils lasted for so long? Could the Negaverse formulate similar magics? Not that he had any idea what they'd want to use them for but... they were so cool. Though, as he sat and let his mind wander, eyes drooping a little with his lack of focus, he began to wonder about the effectiveness of a small area affect bomb with the time disruption magics. Just pause an enemy, steal their starseed, and done! Problem solved! Or, if one cared enough he supposed, bring the then frozen person to the attention of someone who could corrupt them, convert them into a Negaverse agent. That would be a good and interesting way to gather forces, wouldn't it--

Faustite began to speak, and it was enough to jerk him out of his rambling, absent thoughts. Rigel, thankfully, found his attention perking up, eyes wide and attentive despite his previous exhaustion. He was massively curious about the outcome of things--what other teams learned, the collective results, and so on.

He was also very much considering getting himself a fun youma-pendant. It'd been great running around as one, even if the period had been far too short, in his opinion. The strange cat-like form he'd taken was... so much fun. He'd had tentacles! Tentacles! And strange eyes! Or so Spectrolite had said to him, something that had immensely delighted him and certainly explained why she'd been so drastically freaked out. Which. Speaking of...

"You didn't have to come, you know," he said in a hum to Spectrolite beside him, leaning over slightly to bump her shoulder with his arm. "We could have just updated you later." He knew she'd been actually injured out there, and wouldn't have exactly faulted her if she'd stayed behind at the apartment he and Jericho shared.

---

Lieutenant Spectrolite

"I wasn't that injured," the young woman grumbled back to the Super Senshi, fingers fiddling with the water bottle in her hands. The pink painted metal of the opaque double-lined bottle certainly matched her uniform well enough, and looked all the brighter than she especially felt at the moment. Her leg still hurt, though she wondered if it was a bit more psychological than anything. It'd been looked at briefly by medical staff, along with the rest of her to ensure she was alright. And yeah, she was... at least on the report.

She still wasn't convinced her sudden bout of sickness wasn't a result of her general terror of the Rift impacting the rest of her body once she was safely out. At least, she was pretty sure she hadn't gotten some nasty, Rift-infection... medical staff who had treated her injuries originally had made sure of that. But being in that place... sure, the technology they'd encountered was amazing, and those cool lights they saw in that uh... room with the Mercury symbol? She kinda hoped they'd gotten more off of those databases, too. Seemed like there might be more interesting info if they could dig into it, right? Seraphinite had been trying to tap into things, but she wondered if part of it was limited because he was a Captain..? Or did that not actually affect things..? She really wasn't sure how any of that worked, technology stuff was strictly a Jericho, maybe Cabhan, thing in her mind.

Spectrolite could hear the unimpressed, if light-hearted hum from the senshi beside her, and she sighed. Glancing at the black-haired man, she leaned heavily back into Rigel, shoving him back up from his slight slouch against her before sitting up straight again herself. The small chuckle she got for her minuscule efforts helped to lift her mood a bit, though. Even if he was a pain sometimes--okay... a lot of the times--Rigel's presence and support was... good, actually. Jericho had mentioned a few times that Cabhan had asked him how she'd been handling things after different missions, or asked about updates on projects she'd mentioned in passing while he'd been around. It was... nice, really, to know he cared enough to go out of his way for that. Wouldn't be all that difficult to reach back out to him more, would it--

Faustite began to speak, and she jumped slightly where she sat, ignoring the lifted brow from the man beside her as she shifted a bit in her seat. Right. The debriefing. She was there to get information, hear what the outcome had been of everything. Especially since she'd only heard some of what the guys saw back down in that chamber after they went back down the elevator.

Did they find out anything else from the info from that place? Were they going to start using it to produce stuff? Her curiosity at least kept her intent on the General at the front of the room.

Bellalunae

Bellalunae was happy to be back in the old training room since it seemed out of the area of action. No crazy people attacking them or objects exploding in her hands. Over all pretty calm when she thought about it. Plus the walk here wasn't too bad, it was a lot long than she had expected it to be. but was pretty peaceful after everything that went down so she tried not to focus on it. As she stretched her front legs forward and yawned loudly. Not on purpose of course but with her new comfy lifestyle this mission definitely took a toll on her.

So here she was at the end meeting thing or what they called a end brief. She wasn't here because she needed answers per say, but because she wanted to make sure she knew everything she needed too. The end of the mission was like the end of a book. You need to know the whole story before you can know what you learned.

As her stretching finished she listened to Faustite speak about all the accomplished and what they learned about the area. It was crazy how quickly they found all of this out and very interesting.

The weapon manufacturing bit was interesting she had to say and it didn't surprise her someone would want this area to themselves. She was happy it wasn't a threat anymore for them, but really she couldn't wait to head home and work on her novel. All this mission had given her some crazy ideas of things to write, and who knew maybe if she stated till the end. Some others might give her more idea too.

Lt. Borax

It was not even an option for Borax to consider not seeing this through to its completion.

He had done his job. He had canceled out the incident with the Martian symbol and had truly helped. Borax had discovered a multitude of things and proceeded to not only notice the crucible--the first thing that had seemingly caught his boss's boss's attention and therefore signified its importance--but had also lent his hand afterward. This also qualified as the first major operation he was part of, and so far as he could tell, it qualified as a success.

It qualified as enough of one for Faustite to name it as such with his whole chest.

It was a merit for his record, no doubt, and closer to earning him all the badges he could possibly earn. He wanted a collection of them to store in his belt pocket, a collection to show off and brag about and shove toward the higher echelons when asking for a promotion. The more he could point to, the better his position for getting closer to the power he desired and having less need to follow the will of others. He'd rather be an equal at worst than a subordinate.

As he watched, his brows rose briefly. Borax was uncertain what bug had gotten up one of the team's Mauvian's a**, but he eyed Tama with a loose interest and categorized that perhaps he was unhappy before turning his attention back to the flow of the meeting.

Lieutenant Sodalite

Sodalite had not wanted to come to the briefing post mission. He had felt that since the mission was over that there wasn't else of importance to glean from things but that wasn't the case for everyone who had been under Prehnite's leadership. There had been one senshi in particular who had wanted to get to the meeting but strict orders of bed rest had sidelined her plans. So instead of Hylonome risking further complications to her injury Sodalite had grudgingly agreed to go in her place and at least record what was discussed in the briefing.

The young man saw it as a waste of time personally but he wasn't going to break his word of what he was going to do.

So it was with this attitude of being resigned to acting as a proxy that the lieutenant found a seat with a good viewing angle of everything that was going on in the room and activated the record function on his tablet to save the progress of the meeting for Hylonome. He wanted to let his own attention drift instead of remaining in the here and now but there seemed to be some interesting developments going on. At least he, and by extension, Hylonome would have the answers as to how this mission had played out.

Super NIter

Niter wasn't going to attend a debriefing. He'd already attended the briefing. He was already a part of the mission itself, and stayed after Jet had called a retreat. He could've left, then, as long as there was a General to walk him back to the Citadel. He knew there was one, but he made himself stay. It was what he should be doing if he was leaning on the Negaverse as hard as he was.

But that didn't mean he had to like being there. Niter had shown up with a hoodie on over his senshi outfit, with little tufts of feathers sticking out of the neck hole and tickling his skin. He was constantly scratching his neck or shoving them back into the hoodie to the point that his skin began to look red and irritated, but it was still a better distraction from all the tension in the room. Not that he thought the tension was misplaced or anything — there was a lot of tension on the mission, and it only seemed natural to him that it followed into the conclusion, too.

It was uncomfortable, though. Niter wasn't normally the talkative type, but in this instance, he huddled into his hoodie and slouched in one of the chairs at the back of the room. He made sure to stay further away from the dejected-looking Mauvian who was likewise in the back.

Niter told himself he should look for jobs while he was attending the debrief. After a few minutes of internal whinging about it, Niter pulled his civilian phone from the kangaroo pocket of his Final Fantasy 14 hoodie and started to search up desk jobs, in hopes of finding something low effort for all the rooftop climbing and prowling he had to do for the Negaverse.

Super Psilomelane

Psilomelane worried for Hylonome. She hadn't seen the senshi there since helping to bring her to the infirmary, so she imagined her fellow injured senshi must still be there. Had she much say in it, she would've liked to stay around for updates on her condition, but being that Psilomelane barely knew her, she knew she wouldn't be privy to information like that. And even if she thought she could help out, the best she knew was first aid.

Thus, it was hard for her to concentrate on the debriefing. She sat in the middle of the rows, arms folded over herself, as she stared holes in the speaker's head. Internally, she kept wondering if there was something she could've done differently to prevent more people from getting hurt. Her training had been rather specific, though; there was little she could offer to the situation at hand that would stem from any expertise that she'd cultivated since becoming a part of the Negaverse. The calls that were made were done by ranks above her, so she accepted that they knew better than her.

And she wasn't a member of SpecOps, nor was she particularly combat-inclined, so she doubted she could've pushed Hylonome out of the way in time. Certainly she couldn't do something similar for the Lieutenant that was slashed just before her.

And that one was another worry. Psilomelane wasn't able to keep up with that one, so she lost track of what had been happening with her. She hadn't even gotten the chance to introduce herself before that youmafied General began lashing out. That was something else that she would be entirely out of her depth to assist with; she wondered just how useful she was to the Negaverse if she couldn't offer anything helpful to a mission like this.

With a soft sigh, Psilomelane reminded herself to stop ruminating on things she couldn't control and start paying attention to the debriefing. That didn't make it any easier, though.

One Abyss
Debriefing RP Post 2 (of 3)

Faustite

"You weren't listening," he chided Tama. "Next question."

Then it was Heliodor's turn to receive a bewildered look. "No. Thought I told you. For the rest of those here, this mission was authorized by a General King because we had no record of such a place existing, nor did we have records of a structure this size existing in the Rift. Whenever that factory was built, it may have predated our databases," he finished, coughing into his sleeve.

Clearing his throat, he continued. "It seems Galvorn was once part of the knight group that led the attack on the facility. He was an Earth Knight. This may have been why he was able to lead a coordinated attack on the facility when it was originally under knights' control. Once he wrested that building from them, he was placed in charge of the facility that it became.

"At present, we have not determined how or why knights were getting into the building without physically breaking into it. Our leading theory is that one of the rank and file working in the facility was teleporting them in, as another General – Chelonium – suspected. This General had been investigating Galvorn for the act of treason, as he believed that Galvorn was the one trafficking knights into the facility. Given what we had all witnessed in Galvorn's chambers, we have reason to suspect Chelonium was misinformed." And yet, that was another mystery they hadn't fully disentangled. Little opportunity remained for them to do so, however.

"In the last days of the facility's operation, the knights had led a large contingency into the building and used what they knew of it to sabotage each of the areas. As teams were dispatched across the facility, they discovered evidence of this sabotage – for example, their Saturn knights had cordoned off the elevator shaft to isolate Galvorn's chambers from being accessed by reinforcements. Mercury knights had turned their technology against them and prevented their research and development databases from being used. Jupiter knights had generated a storm that prevented agents from reaching an unknown area of the facility.

"We witnessed, firsthand, the destructive power of these sigils that the knights left behind. It seemed that the regenerative properties of the Cosmos sigils had preserved the efficacy of the other sigils, and possibly kept the facility in a low powered state despite its… Existence in the Rift." Faustite couldn't explain why it was there, either; knights could not have built in such an area.

"Lastly, we learned that Galvorn's research reached an impasse by the time the knights ransacked the facility. Some of the drawings discovered suggested that he had been unable to meet the demands made of the facility. Before he could reach a breakthrough, the knights had breached his chambers and were actively trying to shift his loyalties in their favor. The fight that ensued was a bloodbath – the only technically living entity in the room was Galvorn, who had been timestopped in a state of beginning youmafication. The knights that he had fought had run him through with the weapons they pilfered from other parts of the facility, which led to him eating a quantity of starseeds to continue fighting. The ring on a chain they had given him – engraved in it was a Pluto symbol – froze him on the cusp of youmafication. Stopped his time in a state of excruciating pain.

"It was no surprise, then, that when his time was restored, he roused in a rancorous state."

Well, then. It seems traumatizing him with memories wasn’t on the mission objectives. He was beginning to believe it ******** was and he hadn’t heard correctly. He cleared a flurry ear with his long fingernail.

At least, the Mauvian could relate to Arnauld — Galvorn — being pissed that he was awoken. Who’d want to be reminded of all the s**t that happened?

“The Pluto symbols, I get. I don’t like what they did, but I can understand.” Tama replied, still giving no eye contact besides a brief glare Aquamarine’s way. “The Cosmos symbols, though. I’ve never seen anything that can preserve the efficacy of magic that long and that old.”
