Personality
Studious - He takes his learning seriously and remembers as much of what his teachers tell him as possible. At the end of the day he keeps a diary so nothing important is forgotten.
Devoted - He loves his family and their beast taming cause and wants to throw himself into it with his whole heart. He is also quite loyal to the friends that earn his trust. He also loves with his whole heart.
Fun Loving - At times its good to loosen up, apparently it is called balance. He likes to play as hard as he works, thus he sleeps as hard as both at night time.
Brave: This may take a bit of time but he will grow into it the more he grows and explores.


History
Son of Kiyelt and Nin as their second to last son in a rather large family. Tethys spends his days helping everyone with their chores and learning the ropes of beast taming. He aspires to be a beast tamer as well just like his older brothers. But he wants to specialize in just a few animals particularly Keldari as he was inspired by his sister Einsol and her keldari Ray.

He and his little brother Kynin don't get along so well. Its not Tethys fault that he was born a year or two before Kynin but Kynin does not see it that way.

Tethys has spent a bit of time with one of his cousins Ultear and he may have won him over by helping to get them out of a tight spot (a dangerous spot), but this remains to be seen through further interaction.

He idolizes his two parents, loving them both greatly.

Tethys has always been a bit more serious as a youngling and prentice but he is slowly learning to relax, not least of which because of the bonding and socializing he has done recently, expanding his network and slowly making his way out on his own. He has a decent amount of confidence in himself and also has matured as a protector of the younger in his family which is a family value.
He is getting more skilled at beast taming but tends toward smaller species than his family.

Solo - Sailscales

Tethys wanted a sailscale caught from the wild. In order to tame one himself he had to travel to Sauti where the flying reptiles were indiginous.It had been a long trip but he was used to those. He rested for two days, staying in the Inn's stable where he felt more comfortable. It reminded him of home too, all of the contented animals noises, except at feeding times when there was a most unholy racket. Well rested he hadead up the mountain. It was steeper than he was used to, and the air was thin where he needed to go but there they flew in an absolute rainbow of colors and patterns. It was so breathtaking. The creatures glided, swirling in the air like a living kaleidascope, it was a most magestic sight to behold. He was intensely glad he had made the journey to Sauti to witness the spectacle before him. Travel was so good for the soul and he felt as though his spirit soared through the air with them. It was all very exhilarating. This was why his family enjoyed travel this much he was sure. He found a comfortable spot to observe from so he could pick the right ones for capture. His fathere needed some as well. So while he was here Tethys would get him some too. He spent hours among the beasts, studying, note taking, comparing and finally selecting the very best.

It took him a while to get settled and everything set up but by the time the day was out he had caught three of the sailscales and had to release two he did not want. Waste not want not his family always said, particulary important when they were responsible for feeding all of these beasties long term. The ranch was big but its resources were not limitless, vast but limited. He trecked back down the hill and attended to his new captures. He made sure each was as comfortable as possible then he put towels over their carriers so that they would be able to relax a little better. They would get more used to him over time. He was patient, a person who worked with animals on a regular basis had to be.
Beast charming was not easy work but the reward of all the hard work was completely worth it.

He then made his own dinner. Stew: a Thal special that he himself had perfected, though unlike Thal he could in fact cook other things as well. It was just that the bread went really well with the stew and that was a happy happy thing. He had waited a little extra long to bake the bread but it had come out okay. It was time to eat and rest and recharge for tomorrow when he would be back to the top cliffs and the other sailscales, he had no urge to deal with the cats up there in the middle of the night alone though therefore he had come back down to a healthier altitude. He wasn't afraid of heights or he wouldnt be all the way up there but there was a healthy respect for self preservation in general likely gotten from his Mom he thought.

He awoke the next morning and dragged himself out of bed, he looked around but so far no one else had come into the area, there was a town a ways a way but it seemed as though the local windlings had more to do then catch a few sailscales, they had probably all done it as kids. It felt like a longer walk the second morning but he did well enough just took a few extra breaks and noticed the strain in his thighs, which was a good soreness, it meant he had done something worthy.
His resolve solidified and he continued on his day. He thought about Liylasa and what she might be up to today. He felt bad in a way that he wasn't with her, he really enjoyed her company. But well he wanted a sailscale and she had been busy so off he had gone on his own little adventure.

And now he was reaping the benefits of that as another sailscale landed in his mistnet which was placed in its regular flight pattern the mistnet was hard for them to see and so long as the poles sat there for long enough not doing anything then the lizards were prone to flying into the pockets on the net whereupon he could go and easily scoop the unpleased hissing little lizards right out of there. He sampled the scents on the breeze, hoping that he would smell a predator before he saw it in warning. He wouldn't want a sermal taking off with one of his helpless netted sailscales...and his net as the case most likely would be. He also didnt' want that kind of drama for himself or the lizards in that it would take longer with trauma to get them to trust him. They would likely blame him for the whole predator mess as if he hadn't been there the predators would have a harder time catching their agile alert prey. The sun felt really good on his skin.

He bagged the rest of the sailscales that day, he had to let two go, they were the macaw pattern and the eagle pattern with the black and white coloration. They had proven too fiesty and one had had an injury that he hadn't seen before, combined with its sour attitude it was unlikely to find a home among the tribes.

So set free they were to make more beautiful sailscales for later. He loved setting them free just about as much as he loved taking them home, he could revel in their own life freedom. He too felt that free some days, especially off the ranch where chores and duty came first. Family was always there though and that was nice, plus there was always a ton of food, very important when you were young and a male especially.

He took two trips taking the rest of the sailscales down the mountain, soon they would be well trained and he wouldn't have to pack them around absolutley everywhere they could just fly on their own darn it. "You guys need to go on a diet eh," he was joking but he was also tiring and they seemed to just get heavier. He would spend another day at camp and rest for the long arse journey home.

He alreayd missed Matori, but Sauti had been a great break, he had learned so much about its climate, flora and fauna and a bit about how all of it interacted seemlessly to make the quintessential Sauti environment. It was all very fascinating to someone so used to tropical ocean and island life. Though much of Matori was mainland it sure didn't look like it or feel like it. It was one of the best places to be in Tendaji in his not so humble opinion.
