Hobbies:
Scream Queen - Set Piper up with cheesy horror films or stories and she will be your forever friend. She absolutely adores the genre and considers herself something of an expert in it. She worships at the shrines of Hammer, Carpenter and Fulci. Just don't get her started on modern horror unless you have several hours to set aside in order to listen to angry diatribes. Oh sure, she'll admit that the majority of new horror is pretty horrifying, but it's not horror. All it is is a lot of mean-spirited, misogynistic assholes finding newer and more awful ways of disemboweling horny teens. Thanks, but no. She'll be over here with her copy of Fulci's The Beyond and a bowl of popcorn.
Dirt Track Racing - Piper is absolutely dotty for the sport of dirt track racing. But she isn't content to simply sit and watch and root for her favorite drivers. She's out on the track driving herself! There's just something about the danger and dirt and speed that thrills her down to her soul. It is also, at least in part, what prompted her parents to move the family from beautiful Australia to Dinky Destiny City. They're determined she'll never see another race track there.
She's determined to prove them wrong.
Extreme Modeling - Because participating in dangerous races just isn't challenging enough, Piper is also into the fine art of modeling under dangerous conditions. It doesn't matter what the scenario is, if there's an element of danger she's there, pouting and playing up to the camera. It's fun and exhilarating the end results are always so interesting. For now, she's confined to the stuff that doesn't require a parent to sign off on. But once she hits 18, oh, she is going to for the big stakes shoots and love every minute of it.
Virtues:
Daring - Piper is one of those hardy souls who never shrinks from a challenge. There is nothing that she won't try, be it fugu or skydiving. Life's short and she wants to live it and not be just another bystander. As such, she's managed to attract a fair number of friends over the years, though she sometimes jokingly says they're only there out of a morbid curiosity to see what she tries next.
Gregarious - Piper loves people. She loves being with people and talking and hanging out. She considers it a poorly managed day if she can't make at least one new friend in it. She's usually happiest surrounded by her own little flock of people, happily chattering away. But don't think she tries to hog the spotlight. Far from it! Piper just loves to be around people who are talking and sharing ideas. Y'can't fault a girl for being friendly, right?
Flaws:
Adrenaline Junkie - Being adventurous and willing to try new things isn't usually a bad thing. Unless you happen to take it too far. Piper has long since crossed that particular bridge. She is addicted to adrenaline highs and is ever eager to outdo the last and find a bigger and better high. Unfortunately, this means that she is extremely reckless with her own health and safety. What are a couple of scars or missing limbs or even her family's already shaky peace of mind compared to finally finding that last, greatest high?
Lack of Tact - Piper is an open book. Unfortunately, she is also a book that has had most of the filters that make it easier to digest removed. She says whatever she wants, does whatever she wants and ******** whoever gets caught in the crossfire. It's not that she's trying to be rude or mean. She simply doesn't see any need to bother with all that diplomacy nonsense. You don't want to know what she thinks about something because her very frank answer might offend your delicate ******** sensibilities? Don't ******** ask, brah.

Eyes: Wide, deep-set pale, icy purple fringed by long, thick lashes
Hair: See ref for style. Knee length when in ponytail. Colors.
Face: Heart shaped, crooked grin, FRECKLES, average ears, slightly crooked nose. Has a Monroe piercing, pierced ear cartilage (these she prefers to be stainless steel), bone ear plugs. Skin is on the tan side.

Effects - When channeling, Maya is able to wave the fan and send out a faint scattering of what appears to be gold/diamond dust at a target. When inhaled, the dust causes the target to see Maya as something too lovely, precious and desirable to be harmed. Radius for the dust is approximately three feet and can only affect one person. Total allotted channeling time is 45 seconds.
Knight - Dual, feather burlesque fans
Effects - While channeling, Maya waves both fans and sends out a cloud of gold/diamond dust towards her target(s). As before, when inhaled, Maya is seen as too lovely, precious and desirable to allow harm too. However, now she can include one other person within that protection if they are standing within three feet of her. The dust radius is now ten feet and can affect up 2-3 people. Total allotted channeling time is 75 seconds.

To add to the above, Piper was adopted by a fairly middle class family in Australia. Though not wealthy, they were certainly well off enough to allow Piper to indulge in her love of racing. They also instilled in her a drive to work towards her goals. And well, fortunately or not, Jack and Octavia Thompson are damn near stereotypical Australians.
Piper was not happy when the word came down that Jack's company was sending him to America, though her parents both say that she reacted better than they could have expected. And on top of the move, she's been getting a lot of emails lately from adoption advocacy groups offering to help her re-connect with her birth family...
