Leaning up against a tree, Maya did her best to remain relaxed. Where on earth was Dash... ah Ingrid?
"Knew I should of insisted on comin' out here together instead of meetin' up," she muttered to herself as her anxious brain came up with all sorts of reasons why Ingrid could be running a little late. And really, didn't it just figure? She'd finally found herself a cute girlfriend only to have said girlfriend also be some kind of magical warrior.
And Ingrid had been doing this before Maya, so she had to know how to keep herself safe. Which meant that all her fretting was doing nothing more than upsetting her.

Most of the big reasons that Ingrid would be running late involved food. And today was no exception. Finally the senshi ran up, holding a shopping bag full of drinks in the crook of one elbow, and carrying a dozen warm donuts in a box in both of her hands. “Maya!” Her voice called, excitement threading through it.
“I’m sorry I’m late! The sign for fresh hot donuts was on and I just…I couldn’t say no to that…so I bought us some, and some milk and some water just in case…sometimes donuts make my throat hurt so…”
She finally paused in front of her girlfriend, taking in the page’s outfit approvingly, a faint pink hue coloring her cheeks. “You look beautiful like always, you know…I’m glad that you called me out to meet up…do you want a donut?”
She opened the box and the little glazed rings shone like jewels in the dim streetlight. Two of the donuts were already missing.
“…They’re really good.”

Staring blankly for a moment at Ingrid's face, then at the box of donuts, Maya had a moment of wondering what she'd signed herself up for in agreeing to do this magical s**t together. Then, she laughed and shook her head, declining a donut.
For now.
"I'll take your word for it, love. I've never been much of one for donuts. I'll take a water, though. Next time, let me know though? I was gettin' worried."
She smiled and flapped her eyelashes coquettishly, wanting to play off her worry as something silly. Not worth spending too much time on. Still, the little she knew about the people and things they were supposed to fight... No, somehow she was going to have to figure out a way to keep tabs on Ingrid and by extension, Dasha.
She hadn't found the most perfect girl ever just to lose her to some evil wanker.

The senshi sighed and looked almost a little sad by Maya’s refusal, though handed her a water and quickly ate another donut, not wanting them to go to waste…and they were still warm. It was heaven.
Quietly she closed the box and put it in the bag with the rest of the waters and milk and brushed her sticky hands off on her fuku. “So…what’s the plan for tonight, Maya? Just patrolling, or…?”
Obviously not just patrolling…she had hoped for a nice little date under the stars and on some rooftop. Or under some trees in the park but…she would be content just hanging out with Maya…she would always be content with her girlfriend by her side.
“I’m really happy to see you…and I did text you when I stopped for the food…I guess you just didn’t get it because you’re already Maya…”

Laughing softly and throwing an arm around Ingrid, Maya squeezed hard and rest her cheek against her girlfriend's hair.
"Fair enough, lovely. And you're probably right. Someday I'll figure out the stuff that let's this ring get messages from you," she chuckled. "As for plans, if we're going to patrol together, which we are, I figure we should take the time to finish out a route and make sure we're able to sync up styles if we have to fight or rescue anyone."
Grinning, she loosened her hold on the other girl slightly.
"I mean, I know I can throw down physically, but I have no clue what you can do. So we should practice that sometime. But for tonight, I'm content hangin' out and just being together."

She smiled softly, relaxing into the hug and nodding slightly. “That’ll be interesting. Do you think it’ll print out my messages or read them with a strange…otherworldly voice? Do you think you’ll be able to change the voice like you can do with the phone voices? Like, real phones, not the fake senshi phones I mean.”
Ingrid rested against Maya lightly and grinned slightly, wondering what would happen if she just swooned in this wonderful, strong page’s arms. Obviously she would be kept standing but.
Mm…maybe there would be a kiss involved.
“Hey, Maya? I adore you, did you know that? I’m really…not a throw down person, and I’m not sure about practicing throwing anything down other than like. Bugs or some s**t. But…” She shrugged and finally pulled fully away from the embrace. “…Do you like all of this stuff? Being magical and whatever? It’s…interesting, I think. But…a little difficult. I liked just being…me, you know?”

Grinning a little at the thought of how messages might work with her ring, Maya shrugged lightly.
"Couldn't say, but any of them sound kinda awesome, yeah?"
She was quickly distracted by Ingrid's declaration of adoration and grinned down into the other girl's eyes, dropping a quick kiss onto her nose.
"Well, I suspected, but I like having confirmation. I adore the heck outta you too, y'know. And that's why we'll work together," she continued cheerily. "We'll figure out a way that works for us. And if I do most of the throwing, who cares?"
She would have added more, but Ingrid ducking out of her arms gave her a moment of sober pause. Listening closely, she wasn't sure what kind of answer the other was looking for. So, Maya defaulted to her usual blunt honesty.
"In spite of the super weirdness? Yeah, I kinda like it. So far, anyway. Maybe my mind'll change once I see real action, but I got no way of knowing right now. And you're still you, babe. Just... a little extra."
Not quite sure what else to do, Maya went in for a bear hug, intending to scoop the other girl off her feet.

Ingrid squealed with the hug, laughing as she was lifted off the ground, her arms wrapping around Maya’s neck as she giggled helplessly.
“W-well! Just don’t throw me! I am dainty and delicate!” Her fingers played lightly in the other girl’s long, bright green hair, pleased with how silky it was, and utterly unbidden came wonderful and dumb fantasies of the two of them walking down the aisle together, and Piper lifting her like this…and all of her siblings laughing and cheering for her and…
Well of course, somehow Feliks would be there too but…
She sighed at the thought and let her chin rest on Maya’s shoulder. “It’s not so bad to be magical, I guess. You’re not wrong…I just wish I had the ability to do more. Like find people who have gotten lost…but.”
Ingrid shrugged and simply squeezed Maya tighter. “…At the very least. I’ve found you. So I am content.”

"Wouldn't dream of it, my delicate flower," Maya agreed in a sunshiney tone before tilting her head just enough to kiss Ingrid. She could understand the other girl's wish to be able to do more, but there was time. They were still learning and growing.
"You'll get there one day, lovely. I've no doubt that one day you'll find and bring all your lost ones home safely."
Then, because she wasn't sure what else to do, she leaned in for a longer kiss, feeling deep in her heart that this was really the only way to do things properly.
