You must have a fishing rod base made of whale fin first to start. Anyone without a whale fin cannot actually fish, though they can cheer the others on.
Next, select a bait. Your goal is to catch as many fish as possible, as fish oil is valuable in village things, says the villager. He hands you a tin, and you randomly get a bait. Roll 1d6 to see what you get
1. You get nothing..
2. You get the ear of a minipet
3. You get a ball of tiny spiders.
4. You get a giant spider. Seriously, this thing is huge. Like six feet huge. How did it even fit in there?
5. You get a decent sized worm.
6. You get the tail of a minipet
Now, with the bait, roll 1d100 to see how well you do. Make sure to rp accordingly with using the bait/tackling it/ figuring how to make it work. As long as you fish 11 or higher, your quest is a success. Otherwise, try again!
1-10: You fish up nothing..
11- 30: You fish up an invisible sardine. Or wait, is it a real one? You can't tell.
31- 50: You fish up a decent sized bonefish. It is made of literal bones, how are they going to eat this?
51 - 80. You fish up a giant spider fish. It looks more spider than fish, and is about six feet tall.
81 - 100: You fish up a beautiful premium gourmet finfish. It's tail fetches a good price in the local village market and you are rewarded handsomely.

Lock didn't like fishing.
Voodoo liked fishing quite a bit.
Voodoo liked eating fish even more.
Still, apparently fish oil was valuable to these people, and Lock wanted to help the people of this village the best he could. Even if they were all very, very lazy and crazy.
When he was handed his tin he opened it to find ... nothing in side. He opened his mouth to say something to the villager (a mistake?) but the villager only smiled eerily and then walked away from the twosome. Lock looked up to his mentor. "What do I do with this?"

Shun's eye twitched slightly as he was just passed off a tin with the expectation to go fishing. Couldn't these people do this stuff on their own? What was their real motivation for having them all do these menial tasks. He looked into his tin, seeing the ear of a minipet of sorts. Great bait. Though, judging what Lock got, he ended up with the better 'deal'. "Use the tin. Maybe something out there would eat it," he deadpanned.

Lock stared at his pathetic fishing rod with nothing on it. There was no way he was going to catch a fish like this. It needed... something at least.
Heeding Shun's advice (even if the guy was being sarcastic), he gestured Voodoo closer and made her puncture a hole through the tin. Then he baited the fishing rod by attaching the tin to the hook. It was shiny, maybe something down there liked shiny things. Who knew.
Walking to the water's edge, he stared down at the murky sludge and made a face. How could anything live down there, let alone fish? Seriously, these people needed to find a new village.
He cast his line out and waited. Voodoo went to the water's edge and pawed at tiny minnows, getting her own entertainment since Lock wasn't going to provide any. Eventually something tugged and Lock yanked, pulling up a huge, 6 foot spiderfish. This looked like another goddamn apex minipet.
Nope. He wasn't dealing with that again. He immediately slashed its neck, not giving it a chance to rampage. Voodoo's eyes were sparkling (the perfect mix of fish and grotesque- an amazing meal) but Lock threw it over his shoulder before she could claim it. Voodoo still dug her teeth into the tail of the fish, and Lock had to carry it to the village with her attached like that.
There he was given a rusted key and a handful of seeds for his effort. He was liking these people less and less with each task completed.

Shun was actually probably serious. In any case, he got his fishing rod together, then went ahead and hooked the minipet ear to the end of the line. This wasn't looking all that promising to him so far, but he could be surprised. If anything, he would much rather just go in and stab all the fish to death. There really had to be some sort of catch to all of this. To why the villagers couldn't just do this on their own. He gritted his teeth at the thought, then went out to the water's edge to cast the line. It took a little while, but he eventually felt something bite. Once he was certain that it had latched on, he reeled it in and checked what it was. Turned out to be a really fancy fish. With a scoff, he went on and delivered it to the villagers, only to get a rusty a** key in turn.
