Lock was just so glad that Shun got his little moment of glory right at the end. It was really nice getting to watch all that pizzazz while pinned under the dragon's claws.
Voodoo thought it was funny anyways. She was howling with laughter on the sidelines.
He vaguely contemplated once more if Shun was trying to kill him. Now those allegations didn't seem so unfounded. He was pinned by the Kushala, and the Kushala was very much trying to take a bite out of his head. It would have been easy to accept his face, had Shun not hopped on the thing's back.
Now he had a chance to escape, and even better, Shun was locking the thing thing in place. Lock had a much easier time aiming for the dragon when the dragon was basically going in circles trying to buck Shun off like a bronco. Lock ripped his shadows across the dragon's hide, and even managed to leave a hole in the creature's wings, one that looked pretty damning.
"Go for the horns!" Lock called, taking a momentary breather (using this much FEAR was rare for Lock, and he wasn't well conditioned to using more). He left the rest to his mentor.

The horns? Why the horns? That hardly seemed like a weak point to him. Nevertheless, Shun held on tightly as the dragon began to buck around in an attempt to throw him off. When he had a moment, he began to repeatedly stab into the Kushala as quickly as he could. It wasn't too long before he wasn't able to hang on anymore, and he was soon fell from the dragon as it flinched away as well. The Kushala soon got back to its feet afterwards, then flew off in retreat. The reaper slowly pushed himself up as well. A purple haze now surrounded his body. That last ditch effort he had done had exposed him to a little too much miasma, perhaps. He looked to Lock with black eyes, then quickly looked around. "WHere the hell did it go?" he snapped. His daggers were still drawn, and he looked as though he was ready to kill something. Moreso than usual, at least. HP: 25 KD: 244

Lock was beyond relieved to watch the monster fly away, scared beneath Shun's final stab. Though Lock's arms were bruised and his bones felt like jell-o from being squashed under the kushala's grip, he was otherwise unharmed. It could have been a lot worse, that was for sure.
He approached slowly, fearful and incredibly paranoid of a second revival (as the basilisk had done earlier), but when he saw it was safe, he crossed the distance to his mentor. Still paranoid of Shun's actions, he was momentarily satiated by the defeat of the Kushala. Plus the internal insistence that Shun wouldn't try to kill him prevailed (he wouldn't ... right?).
"Not sure. Status?" he asked, just in case Shun needed healing. He still had his FEAR heal remaining, and was willing to use it on the other reaper if necessary.
Then he looked up at where the Kushala had flown off. Certainly it wasn't defeated, and Lock had a sinking feeling that wouldn't be the last they saw of it. It seemed too tenacious for that.
It wasn't until he was up close that Lock noticed Shun's eyes, and the purple haze around his body. "Shun ..."marushii  (or at least for now ...)

Shun hadn't relaxed at all since the dragon left. "I am fine," he said sharply. His tone was considerably more harsh than normal as he spoke. There was a pause before he realized that Lock was staring at him. Why was he staring at him? Did he think that he was weak after that performance? "What is it?" he snapped.

Unfortunately, Shun's aggressive behavior sparked some from Lock. "Your eyes are black and there's a purpleish haze around you," he said stubbornly. "You need help."
He summoned some of his shadows, intending to heal. He doubted it would do any good, but it was worth a try.

"I never said you were!" Lock hollered back.
He sighed and pushed up his glasses. "Fine. Whatever. We'll have some of the villagers look at you when we get back. Or something. I don't know." What very little patience Lock had had was already used up. "Let's just finish this job."

Shun narrowed his eye at Lock. He didn't quite believe the guy, but he supposed it would be good to continue with the task anyway. Gruffly, he went and lifted up one of the eggs that somehow didn't get smashed in the fight, then started on his way. A sand whale came out of nowhere and attempted to push him aside. he shouted before hurrying along.

"Fine!" Lock agreed, happy to have the reaper at least agreeing to him. Maybe they were both just a little tired.
Lock picked up the egg and muttered his way down the mountain side, even kicking a crab out of the way out of anger.

Shun continued on through the forest. A baby wyvern ended up crossing his path. And what the reaper did? Kick it in the face. Hard. So hard he knocked the poor creature out completely.

That wyvern was having a really bad day because right after Shun kicked it in the face, Lock kicked it again for good measure.

And there was the village up ahead. Shun was just about to deliver the egg when another crab came out to try and n** his ankles. The Reaper just stomped the critter into the ground. Hard. He would have stabbed it, but his hands were full. And such, he stormed into the village and turned in the egg. +1 wyvern egg

Lock just wanted to be like his mentor apparently. He smashed the crabs too, even after most of them were already wiped out by Shun's rage.
He arrived at the village and told Shun, "Let's see what else these lazy whelps want."
