What exactly was an apex minipet? He had heard of the term before (at least, he thought so) but TK could not quite remember what exactly this was. The villagers had told the students that this creature had a tendency to steal items, and considering the amount of well, prizes TK and Puella had earned over time, he wasn’t too fond of the idea that it could take any of these.
In addition, it seemed that TK would be doing this with other students. He glanced at Fia. Well, mostly other students. He hummed, taking in the unfamiliar faces. As the group walked toward their destination, TK spoke up briefly. “My name is TK, by the way. And the ghoul with me is Puella.” One hand gestured toward the spider ghoul. “If I could hear all of your names, I would be very appreciative.”
They continued to chat idly until the group was finally covered in mist. He sighed deeply, but considering the rest of the group looked as inexperienced as Puella, TK reluctantly took it upon himself to fire off the first attack.

A cat rolled about and was investigating the area. What an interesting place this was. Carlos was sniffing the air, he could smell something in the area. He didn't know when he had gotten separated from his friend but it didn't matter, Carlos was out having fun anyways.
Something odd was lurking around. A large mini perhaps? How odd. He could hear something and smell something. and Opp! it grabbed his tail. Carlos let out a yowl and unsheathed his claws swatting at whatever it was. "Owe. My tail mine." he hissed weakly and tried to smell whatever it was. Mean, rude and not ok.
"It bite me!" he wailed. "A bander snatch bit me!" it was probably not a bander snatch. But Carlos did not care, he didn't know what it was. Carlos rolled about on the ground after and sat licking his tail. His poor tail hurt a lot and Carlos let out mews of discontentment. "A wibbly wobble a boom and a bing. A tail eater is this terrible thing." Carlos mumbled unhappily to himself.

Fia was growing increasingly wary of the fog. She didn't like not being able to see into the distance, especially in such an unfamiliar place. It was very tempting to try and leave the village and go back to her flat, but she started hearing tales of a creature that people were trying to subdue. A creature that hid in the fog, only eyes visible.
She didn't understand how something like that could be a mini pet.
Instead of fleeing, she joined a group of students wanting to fight it. Fia bowed to the group. "It is a pleasure to meet you all. My name is Fia, of the Conquest Clan."
There definitely wasn't that much time for chitchat. TK and Carlos had already fired their own shots. Fia went over to try and comfort Carlos before being knocked by something herself. She quickly gave a swift kick towards the eyes, unsure of how much damage she would have done, but something was better than none.
"We can get your tail fixed up later."

After Puella's disastrous adventure with the stone she felt it was far past high time to find TK again. She was fairly pleased to find that he'd gathered a group of other...mostly students around him. And also villagers. She eyed them mistrustfully - they'd already had the tourists doing a lot of dangerous stuff. And Puella had to admit she didn't like the giant minipets. Still, it was doing the world a good if they vanquished one, right? So she waved cheerfully at Fia. "It's nice to meet you!" Puella chirped.
As they finally found the uh...thing that they couldn't see, though, Puella noticed someone clumsily stumbling in before them. Just like...well, just like Puella had with that giant snake. "No, don't - " she gasped at the catlike boil, but he'd already come in, and gotten hurt.
"Are you okay?" she asked, but it was more important that she pay attention to what was going on. Taking a breath, she reached down to grab a stone from the ground - like she'd done for the turkeys - and lobbed it in the general direction of the...thing. Which really did hit hard. "Take that!" she said, although it didn't seem at all fazed.

He stared quizzically at Carlos as the younger boil began to speak in rhyme. Why exactly did he bother with that? It seemed like a waste, trying to find words and grammar structures that would form couplets. But the cat had only spoken once, so maybe it was a fluke and TK was merely imagining things. A hum as the horseman tried to calm down the smaller boil before attempting to attack it herself, which did not end very well for her, unfortunately.
Everyone else, in general, seemed to be struggling to land a decent hit on this minipet, which caused TK to sigh and try to land another swipe at it. It seemed this battle might drag on a smidge longer than he would prefer, but disappointment was not an uncommon thing for him.

The moment Verusha overheard some talk of this Apex something or other pet, she couldn't resist the chance to get a closer look at what it was all about. Cannon, on the other hand, was apprehensive and displeased with the idea entirely. But knowing his reaper far too well, he knew there was no stopping her once she had her eyes on a prize.
Meandering to the location in which the creature had been indicated to be living, the ghoul casually followed the sound of fighting. Seems like someone else was also itching to get a look at this newly found discovery. She couldn't blame them. White eyes alight with interest, and intrigue as she neared the dense fog that cloaked the figure that could only be assumed to be the beast. Those vivid eyes made her excitement crawl beneath her skin, hands raising to crack her knuckles, in preparation. "Finally, a good fight." that trademark, smug grin of hers cracked along her face, as she got to a close enough distance.
Cannon took a defensive position before the reaper, the flames on his back licking and flaring higher than before, sharpened eyes honing onto the elusive beast that chose to hide than reveal its figure. That shadow was freaking huge... "Let's have some fun then, Cannon." Verusha smirked, the hound leaping into action to join in the fight. His fangs bore themselves as a growl erupted from his throat as he made at bite for the creature, managing to land a hit.

"Ugh... This invisible thing is quite irritating..." Part of Fia really wanted to summon her bow, but she didn't want to let loose on someone that she didn't want to her. Plus, she'd love to stand further away, but not like she could see very well through the fog.
Fia watched as everyone around her went for the eyes. Whenever she saw them close enough to her, she would try and give a swift kick. Not too many seemed to having much luck hitting it, minus TK. Poor Puella even had things stolen from her.
She frowned. Maybe she should try her bow... Fia knew she had a pretty decent shot.

Puella reared up to hit again, careful not to let her flailing limbs touch any of her newfound allies, when someone else...no, two someone elses rushed in. "Hi!" she called to the new ghoul. "I like your dog!" It was flaming. That probably meant it was super badass, right? She also admired the reaper's sense of style - not everyone could pull off asymmetrical leggings.
It seemed like she was far more focused on the invisible minipet...thing, though. Puella should've been, too, but as TK had quickly learned, Puella's biggest weakness was not her physical frailty but the ease of distracting her. The invisible thing reached in greedily and pulled Puella toward it. More importantly, though, it felt around for the fishing rod Puella had been carrying around all day...and then took it with it. "H-hey! My whale thing! I mean, fishing rod!"
Puella waved her arms around, then reached for another rock to lob at it, since that'd seemed to work better than anything else for her. "I-if you want my things so much, why not take some of these rocks?" she asked, more than a little pouty.

Brenley had no idea what apex minipets were, nor had he even heard the term. Nevertheless, he was curious about this gathering of students and... was that a horseman? The boil was certain that he must have run across one before, whether it was in town or on school grounds, but he'd never been so close before. The Conquest clan. He'd have to look into that.
But that wasn't important now. What was important was subduing that thing so that it couldn't brutally dissipate him. Also important? Staying away from the skeletal boil he recognized from that time he'd been kidnapped. While it was true he had only seen him before things had gotten all stabby, Bren preferred to keep a low profile. He couldn't be sure what others had heard.
Sticking close to the reaper ghoul with the dog, Brenley summoned his weapons and tossed the smaller of his blades at the creature. It mostly bounced off, but at least he nicked the thing.

One of the students—a reaper, by the looks of her canine familiar—had brought fire with them, which made TK stumble. Trust an undead to trip over his bony feet over the mere sight of flame and heat. It wasn’t even dangerous because it belonged to a familiar, and reapers knew how to keep their creatures in control (mostly, usually, right??) But the sight still made him anxious, which meant stumbling right into the creature and only managing to smack it lightly before it snarled and shoved him back in retaliation.
He grunted, stumbling back a few steps, but still remained standing and just narrowed his eyes at it. Well.

"Fine... I'll try it..." Fia gave in and summoned her bow. Despite the weather, the golden, feather carved bow still seemed to shine. She smiled as she held onto the grip and drew an arrow. Taking deep breaths, she concentrated on the crowd and waited for those eyes.
Once she saw them, the arrow was let loose and seemed to do a fair amount of damage to the apex! Fia celebrated only for a few seconds when she realized it was coming towards her. "Crud..."
The apex mini dove for her. Fia managed to dodge most of the attack, but still managed a gash on her arm. She realized that the apex also managed to take away the whale fin that she found after defeating the sand whale.
Oh well. Not like she really needed the fin.

Teeth glistening with that grin akin to a dogs, Verusha watched on as her familiar darted and tore around the area skillfully. It never got old watching her most trusted companion work his magic, his agile, powerful body at its prime... So beautiful.
Glancing over as she heard a voice pipe up about her precious pooch, she instantly snapped her pale gaze over to the little ghoul cooing over him. Beaming proudly, the canine queen puffed up her chest a little, "Hey there. He sure is awesome, isn't he?" she mused, with shameless agreement. She wasn't going to deny what was so clearly the truth.
Unfortunately... Cannon missed his next attack, making him skid to a halt, and curve around to try at another angle.
But Verusha's attention veered a tad when she noticed another fellow reaper join in the mix, instantly eyeing him up. Awesome get up.... and even more awesome of weapons were sported. Not too bad on the eyes, either. When the guy landed a hit, she gave a little "nice." under her breath, just loud enough for him to hear her compliment.

He didn't respond to the ghoul at first. He couldn't. It seemed he was frozen. Had she just whispered 'nice' in relation to him? Brenley didn't think that anyone had ever reacted that way to him... ever. Had she been paid? Was this some kind of joke? When he could move again, the boil landed a glancing blow on the creature, finally turning to face Verusha once he had resummoned his first weapon back to his hand.
"I... um... thank you?" he said. "If you were talking to me, that is?" Maybe there was someone behind him? Bren turned to look.

Puella waved a cheerful thumbs up at Verusha. "I don't know if you missed it, but I'm Puella, that's TK, and that's..." She waved her arm around before pointing at the horseman. "That's Fia!" She was a horseman. That was pretty cool. The bow she was wielding was also pretty cool. Puella opened her mouth wide as she watched...
...and then she remembered they were in the middle of a fight. Whoops! "A-ahh - I wish we could see this thing, though!" she said. In frustration ducked away from it, retreating as much as she could so that she could find a large stick with which to hammer at the invisible...apex...thing. Ha!
But she'd have to hang back, for now. She had to wait for it to strike to know where it was, after all. She twirled the stick, inhaled, and...turned to watch the cat guy, she supposed.

Carlos was so unconscious of his rhymes and rhyme, he was unaware he was even doing it. Being a Cheshire cat, it was only natural to speak in rhymes and rhyme. Though he seemed to be doing it less here as he conformed to the average Halloweener's speech patterns.
But Carlos suddenly realized that creeple were introducing themselves and Carlos was expected to tell them his name. But without the riddles as accustomed to his people. he still thought it was weird that they did that here.
"A Cheshire cat I am. And with a shazzam Carlos my name may be And I would rather be sleeping in a tree."
Carlos announced in poetic form. It was no fluke. Even if it was bad riddles, Carlos naturally was inclined to speak in them. That and nonsense. It didn't have to make sense. Half the time he did not.
Carlos bounced around as something hit him again, this time stepping on his back paw. he let out anther yowl very unhappy. "It's a meanie! Mean terribly mean. Outragous and cruel." he whined. "Worth than a bandersnartch." Carlos unleashed his claws at it and ran under the feet of the nearest creeper, which just happened to be Brenley. He let out a pathetic mew, even though he was still in student form.
