QUESTING AND HOW TO!So your knight wants to go on a quest! There are two types of quest they an go on. A GM assigned one and a self run one.
They all have the same format in that your goal is to complete the quest and bring back a *~**~*~magical artifact*~**~. In doing so you have proven yourself able to take risk and come back for greater glory.
These artifacts can be excavated for ic prizes. See below for what you can get!
Now before you get started, you can decide to do this solo or with a group of max 2 others. So 3 people total. You can roll your dice out of order it doesn't really matter. If you end up doing all the work, give them a harness and let them know how much they were carried.

STEP 1: SELECTING AN ARTIFACTIf you have already been given an artifact you can skip this step! Otherwise, selecting an artifact is pretty easy! Below is an IC list of artifacts the Great King would like to see returned to him. Simply choose one with your group icly via going to the guild master, and you will be given a map, and a basic bag of supplies to get started. Don't forget to pony up!
Now, someone else in another group may pick the same artifact as you. Don't worry there's a bunch of them! That's the problem with those pesky horsemen, they really like to you know, make things. For us to take. For reasons. In fact, for your hard work, we will craft you an armour piece almost identical to the one you retrieved but better. And um, less magical.
Also unlike normal plebian armour this stuff is made of the finest quality. In fact, it is said that if you own a full set of this armour you instantly obtain three sealed cards for your dedication.
OOC: Also where it says *SOMETHING HERE* feel free to rename it of whatever you please relevant to that and canon to the setting. Also keep it PG. Also please only obtain one artifact a day. You can participate in other quests, but you cannot obtain more than one item a day.
gaia_crown [ List of available artifacts ]
gaia_star [ Greater Gauntlet of the *ANIMAL HERE* ] A bangle of intricate design, with *ANIMAL HERE* patterns. Very fancy.
ICly: after obtaining this, you will get a fancy new gauntlet to replace your existing gauntlet. You will get your name engraved on the gauntlet because it is super fancy. Maybe something like "Gauntlet of the Gauntlets".
gaia_star [ Greater Leggings of the *CONSTELLATION HERE* ] A pair of pants of intricate design, with *CONSTELLATION HERE* patterns. Very fancy.
ICly: after obtaining this, you will get a fancy new pants unless you are female then your armour is just a pair of panties. You will get your name engraved on the pants because it is super fancy.
gaia_star [ Greater Tabard of the *MYTHICAL BEAST HERE* ] A tabard of intricate design, with a *MYTHICAL BEAST HERE* illustration on it. Very fancy.
ICly: after obtaining this, you will get a fancy new tabard. You can even put it on top of your existing tabard.
gaia_star [ Greater Shoulders of the *GEMSTONE HERE* ] Shoulder pads of intricate design, with a *GEMSTONE HERE*s all embedded on it. Shinyyyy
ICly: after obtaining this, you will get a fancy new gemstone encrusted shoulder pads. Who doesn't want something like that?
gaia_star [ Greater Helmet of the *TREE NAME HERE* ] Crafted from great resilience of *TREE NAME HERE* tree, just make sure you don't set it on fire..
ICly: After obtaining this you get a cool new helmet with a shrubbery on it, a *TREE NAME HERE* shrubbery.
gaia_star [ Greater Mantle of the *FLOWER NAME HERE* ] Why is this mantle named after a flower for the King's sake. WHO NAMED THIS???
ICly: After obtaining this you get a mantle embroidered with thousands of tiny *FLOWER NAME HERE*.
gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star [ Legendary Wings of *GREEK/ROMAN GOD/GODDESS NAME HERE* ] Beautiful, iridescent, yet deco rational wings, these are the envy of all knights far and wide. You MUST have collected EVERY SINGLE OTHER PIECE ABOVE to embark on this journey. The mechanics are the same as the others.
ICly: Your character, once a day, can literally pick up another character and carry them AND YOU to the finish of a quest (auto-complete ONE quest). A character can only be carried once per day. You still do have to rp them out! This also lets you run around and glide like an idiot.

STEP 2: HERE AND BACK AGAINNow, this is an survival rp exercise. The requirement to get a successful artifact is you must post 600 or more words, follow one of each step, and not run out of food. )
- At the start of the quest, each player in your party must roll 5d10 Add up all party member's values. That is the amount of food they carried with them. If your party runs out of food, you will have to head home, it's no good to die out there in the wild... (QUEST FAILED, RETRY AGAIN).
- If your Knight runs out of HP they PASS OUT and are considered OUT of this quest. That means they do not get the award. A group can choose to continue on without him/her or head back and abandon quest to redo.
- If you are doing this with a group, EACH person of the party must roll for each stage once before progressing to the next stage. If there is no post after 8 ooc hours, then you can skip them and they are considered KO'ed.
- Now, all players get one extra reroll. That means if you are solo OR group, and you do not like your roll, you can reroll ONCE. This applies to PER player, and does not consume a turn.
- If you have attempted and FAILED this three times in a row, you may skip all the dysentery rolls meaning, if you roll for that, reroll instantly. This only works for the next expedition you do, and after that resets back to no skips.

- Your party starts the trek forwards, the path out of Camelot is extremely dangerous and full of rugged, mountainous terrain. Be careful, a single misstep will cause you to loose anything and everything! Each player must now roll 1d4 and match it to the dice results below. Make sure you are rping everything. You can also spend unlimited time just rping back and forth before going to your next dice roll.
Rolling a 1: You accidentally slip, almost fall to your demise off a mountain cliff, and drop some of the food! Roll 1d6 to see how much food you lost.
Rolling a 2: You encounter a wild *animal here* that is extremely rabid and ferocious. It blocks the path and attacks you! You take -10 damage!
Rolling a 3: You accidentally ride into a bees nest. BEEEEES. Your horse runs away, making it extremely hard on you. Every turn you take, you must subtract 5 food from the caravan, starting next turn.
Rolling a 4: You catch some medieval version of dysentry and feel extremely sick. You need to be sent home IMMEDIATELY (QUEST FAIL for that person, they will have to retry again either single or with another group).
gaia_crown [ Step 2: The Winding Forest ]
- The forest is extremely confusing, and there is a myth that dangerous elves lie in these forest. Dangerous arrow-shooting elves and giant killer spiders. If you don't follow the path, you will get lost forever in the forest labyrinth. Each player must now roll 1d4 and match it to the dice results below. Make sure you are rping everything. You can also spend unlimited time just rping back and forth before going to your next dice roll.
Rolling a 1: A giant spider scares you so much you drop whatever it is you're eating! -5 Food
Rolling a 2: Someone seems to have left food on the road for you! How nice! +10 food.
Rolling a 3: Your horse gives up on you, running away. Every turn you take, you must subtract another additional 5 food from the caravan.
Rolling a 4: You catch some medieval version of dysentry and feel extremely sick. You need to be sent home IMMEDIATELY (QUEST FAIL for that person, they will have to retry again either single or with another group).
gaia_crown [ Step 3: The Dwarven Mountains ]
- You enter a giant mountain labyrinth. Dead skeletons, rusted armour and the bodies of fallen knights plague each step. You swear you could hear the sound of something horrific echoing in the far distance. Each player must now roll 1d6 and match it to the dice results below. Make sure you are rping everything. You can also spend unlimited time just rping back and forth before going to your next dice roll.
Rolling a 1: You accidentally step on a loaded booby trap! Arrows rain down on you, and you take -20 damage!
Rolling a 2: You accidentally step on a booby trap as giant axes start swinging at you! You take - 5 damage!
Rolling a 3: You accidentally step on a booby trap as snakes start chasing you! Why did it have to be snakes... -10 damage
Rolling a 4: You hear a horrific roaring noise and when you look behind you you see a terrifying beast made of fire chasing you! In your horror you lose half the remaining caravan food.
Rolling a 5: Your horse gives up on you, running away. Every turn you take, you must subtract another additional 5 food from the caravan.
Rolling a 6: You find a small supply crate from the last group of knights who tried to attempt this! +10 food
gaia_crown [ Step 4: The Mountain Summit ]
- You've done it, you've reached the mountain top! Now just to climb the highest hill and try to get that rare artifact, this better be worth it. Each player must now roll 1d6 and match it to the dice results below. Make sure you are rping everything. You can also spend unlimited time just rping back and forth before going to your next dice roll.
- This quest is NOT considered complete until EVERYONE has rolled. IF anyone does not roll they fail the quest but if you succeeded with everyone else, you can go ahead and claim the prize!
Rolling a 1: Giant unexplainable eagles start attacking you! Ow! You take -10 damage for yourself.
Rolling a 2: In your excitement to get the artifact, you drop one of the bags of food! You lose ALL OF YOUR FOOD. QUEST FAIL FOR WHOLE PARTY.
Rolling a 3: You accidentally shout a little too loud in excitement and unleash an avalanche! -10 damage for WHOLE PARTY. If anyone in your party hits 0 they FAIL THE QUEST
Rolling a 4: Just as you're about to touch the artifact, you catch some medieval version of dysentry and feel extremely sick. You need to be sent home IMMEDIATELY (QUEST FAIL for that person, they will have to retry again either single or with another group).
Rolling a 5: Somehow, you made it safely. Somehow.
Rolling a 6: An old man claiming to be a wizard hands you some food. Thanks, you guess? +10 food.
