Damien was sure this was some sort of prank on Apprentices. A quest this soon did not seem possible. There was a crude map, a bag of rations for the trip and a Clydesdale borrowed for the trek from the guildsmaster, along with the promise to bring it back in one piece. He had to wonder why the bloke had to go and say that but the answer was apparent. They weren't sure if he was coming back whole. Not exactly a fond send off, but beggars could not be choosers, he reasoned. If it would shut Sir Morgan up for five minutes, it was worth it in his eyes. The map was made by a clod, of that Damien was well aware of. He was adamant in the idea that a five year old could transcribe something more appropriate as he turned the map every which way while on horseback. the horse refused to move at one point, leaving a very agitated and lost Damien to lead the horse on foot, looking ahead for a vantage point that he could use as a beacon for the rest of the map and the path he was trying to find. He just needed a few landmarks. The landmark he found was a ravine, and it met him much sooner than he expected, grabbing onto a tree branch before gravity took control the rest of the way down, swearing loudly at the mistake. The shifting of body posture due to impending pit of death was the last thing on his mind, barely noticing the loaf of bread and cheese that fell into the dark void below. It was a tiny bit of food, of which he heard hitting the bottom about ten or so seconds after losing them. It was a long time, and he was glad to have to wait for it and not living out the fall. the horse and himself were safe and it was time to get the hell away from this area, while the going was good and safe. Step 2: The Winding Forest The vegetation was denser here that the area of the chasm, slowing his horse's progress to a crawl. More like a slow trot as he weaved a path that didn't involve the mouth breaking an ankle. using the time to get more acquainted with the map and its utter nonsense, not to mention the chance to indulge in an apple. He felt a strange kinship when it came to the fruit, something that must have been part of what was given before. The map gave no warning nor did it come with a bestiary, all in favor of the drop tarantulas that wanted to come along for the ride, causing the brunette to wave his weapon ineffectively at the small target and for his body meeting the ground, apples lost to the forest foliage and the local animal to feast upon, to his dismay. The spiders have won this round. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 24/33 YOUR HP: 30/30

Step 3: The Dwarven Mountains Out of the forest and into the mountains range that was accented by tiny arrows going up on the map. It was the best of best maps. The trek up the mountain was just as slow, if not slower for the Clydesdale. the trail had its rough parts and the horse was careful with its footing. between all the cracks and the piles of skeletons, Damien understood the trepidation. Ominous was not the word. Nightmare fuel was more appropriate with the fallen serving as a warning to turn back. pieces of rusted armor and tattered clothes that he himself never wanted to join, but to venture onward. Someone must have passed this way recently, given from the case of loaves in a burlap sack left on the road. It smelled strongly of a trap and he was ready to ignore it, till the horse took its time to pull an apple out of the pack to have a snack. Anything that had apples could not be bad, he took the chance loading the parcel to the carrier and back on the saddle quickly. It was time to move on, as the areas was starting to make him anxious. Step 4: The Mountain Summit The peak was in sight, the area that was marked off with a smiley face on the map, surely that must be where he must go. past everything, the path was getting even treacherous near the end, enough so to take the horse by its reins and lead him up the path and giving him a piece of apple and words of affection. It was a good steed and worthy of praise. The hill was overcome and the trinket was there, in all its shiny glory. The containers were fragile, but opening one revealed a pair of leggings with fleur de lis and stars arranged in a certain pattern of damask and gilded points. and it was his now. too bad the horse couldn't wear them. but he was sure to give it his weight in apples one they were able to get back to camelot. Clyde, as Damien aptly called the horse, valiantly got them home and to the guild master where he informed him of the result, that of which being the inability to find the missing person that the brunette was going to stay quiet of their identity, but showed him the piece of armor he found during the scavenging. "I'm sure there are much more to find, i'm going back tomorrow, please prepare more rations for me." he politely requested, giving Clyde one more apple for his troubles before getting his own much needed rest. Dawn was here and a full pack was already set in Clyde's harness, with Clyde himself whinny'ing as he saw the green eyed rider. "Apple s will be for later, we must be on our way." he tapped his heels along the Horses side and they were off, the trail still fresh in his memory. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 27/27 YOUR HP: 30/30

Step 1: The trek forwards
It was funny how the chasm already became a waypoint in the journey, it had Damien chuckling once more when he found himself hanging off the cliff. "Found it!" he cheered and watched helplessly as a few of the apples tumbled out of the sack, down to apple underworld from when he could surmise was happening. they were gone but he was still there, and it was time to keep moving.

How Many Apples? It was a quick count and a peace offering to clyde, he was down five apples. He was fine with that as long as there were still some left. Damien and his stomach was totally ok with that. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 22/27 YOUR HP: 30/30

Step 2: The Winding Forest The forest already had Damien on edge, this time instead of looking at the map, he watched the overhanging branches. they were not going to get the jump on him again. He learned to be wary of the drop spiders and their droppyness. This time they were not ready to descent, with the tension leaving his shoulders but there were pineapples here! Sire it was not an apple, but it had apple in the name, he reasoned, hacking a few off the tree and into his pack for later. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 32/32 YOUR HP: 30/30

Step 3: The Dwarven Mountains The mountain range seemed gloomier than the day before, the air was heavier than what Damien could remember. The skulls seemed to follow his movement with their hollow gazes, watching and waiting for him to join their ranks in the hereafter. It was a foreboding feeling, one that got the better of him, making Clyde trot faster and the clicking sound that was harsh against his ears. It was a sound that chilled his blood, and had him vaulting off the horse and giving it a good slap on the rear to send it galloping away when the sky darkened with a volley of arrows. Cover was scare, leaving him the option to curl up and protect the vital points, arrows bouncing off metal plate or the few that managed to sink in between the cracks. It was a grand time pulling them out one by one afterwards, assessing the wounds and salve to be applied before he continued on, albeit more sluggishly. Step 4: The Mountain Summit The trek up the summit was a more arduous one, heavy breathing and Damien was sure there was some sort of poison or dark magic embedded in the arrows that had his stomach in white hot pain. He was not going to try and walk on his own, and the horse could not go up the narrow path any further. He wasn't sure what was happening, but Camelot was in view, Clyde making his way into the compound and the castle yard. It was a failure this time, but he was alive, that much he can be thankful for.

FOOOOOOD It was time to get back on the horse now that the illness was over and there was no discussing it with Clyde. The pack of rations was lower and for good reason as he was one for two on his track record. The math adds up, Damien agreed, shrugging it off and taking the reins and heading back out of Camelot and into adventure. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 21/21 YOUR HP: 30/30

Stage 1 This time he was going to keep to the trail that did not run close to the ravine, steering the horse to the shorter trail and into certain doom. Damien could hear the incessant buzzing the treetop of bees and its hive. the hive that feel to the floor in a splatter of comb and honey and angry bees that saw him as evil and the horse was bucking him off with reckless abandon. Emphasis on abandon when his butt hit the floor and had him running to hide in the nearby lake from the swarm that thankfully could not submerge. the horse however was gone and so was the food save for the one apple left in his tunic. The rest of the trek was going to be by foot. the sigh from his lips said it all. "its going to be a long one." QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 16/21 YOUR HP: 30/30
