Cranidos Stage; Solo:
It had started out as a simple favor to her brother. On a busy training schedule, he had asked her to take the rock over to the pokemon facility in Oreburgh. He was certain it was a pokemon fossil, but Josie thought it was just a silly stone. Pokemon were best when fluffy and cuddly! Still, she was already planning to go to Oreburgh with a few friends, and the stop at the facility would only be a short detour. Then, it would be a whole day of shopping and food and fun!
Josie and her friends left early in the morning to make the trip with the skull fossil stuck in her back pack. She did stop and drop the fossil off first, but after she filled out the forms, she was off again to enjoy her day. She actually nearly forgot to stop by the facility on her way out! She and her friends had arms full of bags, and she made quite a show of how much her brother owed her for running his rock around for him. When she was led into another room of the facility though, she dropped every bag she held in confusion. On the table in the little room sat a strange looking pokemon; like a dinosaur or something! Where was the rock?! Oh, she was doomed if the rock had broken! She actually burst into tears before the attendant could explain that the fossil had been brought there specifically to be restored into the cranidos before them!
From the table, the little cranidos perked his head up and gazed right at the crying human. With a light gasp, he jumped from the table and toddled over to Josie, falling onto his face just before reaching her. He was still getting used to his legs!
Josie looked up from her tears at the loud thud, sniffling as she watched the pokemon get back up as though nothing had happened, and gently bumped his nose against her shin. Those big red eyes that blinked up at her suddenly made her heart catch. This little guy wasn’t fluffy, and he wasn’t cuddly, but he was trying to help her feel better?
The cranidos looked up at the girl with big red eyes, and gave her a large, toothless grin. When the girl smiled back at him, he felt a great wave of joy. He was glad he could make her smile. He didn’t know why it made him feel good, but it did. His thick, stubby tail twitched side to side, making the whole lower half of his body wiggle as well. He gave a squeak of delight and nuzzled against her leg again.
Josie started to laugh and knelt to give the cranidos a hug. He was the sweetest little thing! She was never going to let this one go! Wait... how was she going to explain this to her brother? This was supposed to be his pokemon! She couldn’t just keep him as her own!
However, the cranidos had made his choice. The entire train trip home, he stayed by Josie’s side, and even her friends fell in love with his warm and sweet personality.
When they got home, Josie walked the pokemon inside and bashfully approached her brother with the tale. The cranidos leaned against her leg the whole time. There was a long conversation between the humans, but he spent most of the time looking around his new surroundings. It seemed cozy... he would like it here! Cephas was home!

Cranidos Stage; AIM PD- Angels And Pokemon~
The evening was cool, but Cephas didn't mind. He walked through the town, practically skipping in order to make his tied-on wings flutter. Well, as much as someone with such short, thick legs could skip! He just had to be careful with the halo, which was only set onto his smooth head.. Sure, it was after Halloween, but he had refused to let the accessories be removed. He was quite happy to leave them on, giving a little growl of contentment. However, he saw himself in a window reflection. Still not accustomed to mirrors yet, he was excited by the sight of another cranidos, and charged at it without thinking. Of course, this only made him smash through the glass..... and cause quite a stir. He was chased off, but it wasn't until he was away from the store when his halo fell. It was bent! Picking it up gently in his little claws, he gave a few distressed whines before sitting heavily. How could he walk home with a broken halo?!
There was a n** in the air that didn't bite into Kyllian's thick skin like it had last year. He was a boy grown into the Fall season, but it didn't make much of a difference when the shivers came from the internal repetition of events that plagued him every time he saw a Jack-o-lantern. Halloween had been nothing, but hell for the child. For the most part he had spent it building and installing locks, traps and alarms in his house to make sure that whatever had taken over his friend wouldn't be coming back. The only reason he was out now was because he had run out of meat and Mrs. Johnson across the street was getting pretty peeved about constantly having to "loan" her stocks to him. With a deep breath he walked down the street, clad in an oversized mechanics jumpsuit, when he saw a cranidos. Tilting his head, Kyllian called out, "Hey, what's with the sad look? Angels are supposed to be happy, right?"
Sniffling, he looked up with watery eyes at the tyrunt child, blinking a little to clear his vision. ‘Angel can’t wear broke halo,’ he thought up to the boy, holding the delicate metal decoration up to be seen. ‘Mama will get mad.’ Eyes lighting up, he gazed up at the child with a hopeful gaze. ‘You a human. You can fix?’ he asked, holding the prop up again to Kyllian.
Kyllian cocked his head to the side and looked down at his meat. It would likely go bad if he didn't get home soon, but he was already planning on cooking it tonight anyway...Bending down, he gently picked up the bent metal and twisted it around in the fading light. "I don't know about that. If I start twisting on it, it may break completely. But I can try, if you really want me to."
Tail twitching nervously, he watched the large hands work on the metal. He knew what a tyrunt was. If one of those could become a human with long arms and hands, maybe he could as well? That would be a concern for another time though, his hopes fell and then rose again. ‘Try! Please!’
Sitting down on the pavement next to the cranidos, Kyllian made sure to set his meat aside so that he could work on the twisted halo. It wasn't horribly mangled, but there was a reason why he never dealt in soft metals. His hands were calloused from steel, tungsten, and iron. This...He rotated his shoulders before slowly starting on his work. Bit by bit he wriggled the metal around, slowly starting to reshape it. "...You know Halloween's over, right?"
Eyes lighting up, Cephas opened his mouth in that stiff-faced smile. He watched the work closely, oblivious to his tail swishing side to side enough to dig out a little divot in the ground. Looking up, the cranidos nodded confidently. ‘Yup! I like wings and halo. I keep them!’ He looked along Kyllian’s outfit quickly. ‘You still Halloween dressed,’ he pointed out, clearly not realizing the jumpsuit clothing was one of Kyllian’s normal outfits, as opposed to the blue jeans and plain shirts or jackets that he saw most humans in.
Kyllian couldn't help the instant smile that claimed his face. The little guy was too innocent for his own good, and reminded him of himself in that way when he was newly changed. But mostly he seemed a lot like...like...Kyllian's hands slowed, and he looked over at the other dino with a sly eye. His heart clenched from within his chest, and with a stiff smile he continued his work. "Nuh uh, it's my work clothes." It probably looked goofy, since the jumpsuit was a bit large on him, but compared to his other clothes this was relatively tame.
Blinking his red gaze, Cephas gave Kyllian a suspicious look. The older boy didn’t seem too convinced, the younger misinterpreting the stiff smile. ‘Work clothes?’ He shook his big head with a doubting sigh. But, still, if it was the truth... ‘What kind of work?’ he asked, resting his chin on Kyllian’s shoulder to better watch the work being done on his precious item.
"I take scrap metal and make stuff. Keeps me busy." Otherwise Hewitt would be running more tests or he would have time to think about all his crummy friends. He didn't mind having the chin resting on his shoulder; if anything he moved unconsciously to better accommodate the smaller lad. There was a piece in the halo that was close to snapping already, so he was trying his best to navigate around it. "Did you and your trainer go trick or treating?"
Again, Cephas gave the child a suspicious look. ‘That don’t sound like work. Sound like fun!’ Of course, the question made Cephas light up again, and he nodded excitedly. He told Kyllian all about when his trainer had presented him with the wings and halo, going to the different houses to get treats, and how his trainer had taken the little bucket of treats he’d gotten and hid them on him to keep him from eating them all at once! He missed his little jack-o-lantern bucket that was now hidden away with his treats. His jack-o-lantern was cute and smiled!, not like the scary or icky ones some people put out by their doors! ‘Did you get treats?’
Kyllian snorted. The child shook his head out, smirking as he let out a barking laugh. "Yeah, it kinda is. Still counts as work, though, if someone asks ya to do somethin' you don't wanna do." If you made it seem like a chore then they didn't bother you, which was useful. As he worked he listened to the little dino explain how absolutely blissful his evening seemed. It was something Kyllian envied. "I think that jack-o-lanterns are all nice and cute, even the scary ones. Maybe the big bad ones just have it rough." Maybe they could also benefit in talking to their friends and stop attacking them! "Oh...no, I didn't go trick or treating this year."
Cephas stared at Kyllian with confusion. ‘Fun... but don’t wanna do it..?’ This was complex! ‘Like, if mama tell me outside, when I wanna be in? I like outside, but inside good sometimes.’ His head lifted curiously when the pumpkins were debated. Scary could be cute? ‘Like me!’ he suddenly chirped, giving Kyllian that open smile. ‘Neighbor call me scary, but mama call me cute!’ He seemed disappointed to find out Kyllian hadn’t gone out like he had. ‘Don’t like it?’
"Sort of? But not really. More like if you want a toy, but a friend has it, you pretend that you don't want it anymore so they drop it and then you take it." Wasn't that reverse psy..psynogamotry? Something like that, yeah. Kyllian turned his head to look at those sweet upturned eyes, and he just felt protective; like a mama bird seeing a chick for the first time. He reached out a hand to ruffle the lil one's head. "Nah, you ain't scary. Angels aren't scary." And with that, he had finished repairs on the halo. He moved around so that he could get better situated to place it on Cephas' head. "I like it but I was...sick, yeah, real sick. Didn't get to go out." Sitting back, he looked at it critically before tilting the halo so it wasn't crooked. "Better?"
Head shaking, Cephas nudged Kyllian’s shoulder with his nose. Now he really didn’t get it! But, it was making his head spin, so it would be better to stop thinking about it! As his smooth scalp was patted, he giggled and nuzzled that hand. Blinking as Kyllian shifted, he gasped with delight as the halo was replaced. ‘Glad you feel better!’ Standing up, he tried to look up without knocking the thing off, spinning with delight. ‘Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!’ he sang, waving his short arms happily. Now mama wouldn’t get mad! Grinning and growling with delight, he was so excited that he just turned and headed on back home to show his trainer that his halo was fine!

Cranidos Stage; Finding His Star:
Blinking lightly, Cephas let out a heavy yawn as he looked over to his trainer, Josie, who had fallen asleep while watching a movie. He couldn't even remember what it'd been called, and he hadn't understood the quick-paced plot, but it had made Josie laugh herself to sleep. It had something to do with a bunch of dancing and singing animals. They all seemed friendly, except for the few that were mean, but not scary. He liked seeing his mama so happy. Even Uncle was asleep on one of the other chairs!
Giggling to himself, Cephas hopped off the couch and bumped his nose against the old television to turn it off. No point in letting the credits roll! Uncle said that wasted electricity, whatever that meant. Even if he didn’t get it though, he wanted to keep his trainers happy. He turned to nudge Josie awake, but instead let his tail twitch with affection. She looked so sweet asleep! He didn't want to disturb her! He toddled over to pull the blanket over her a little more, and then went to the kitchen. A nighttime snack would be just the thing before bed! As much as he wanted a cookie, he knew Josie would be upset. He couldn’t reach the jar anyway. His own food was right where he could reach it, and he only needed to pull a tab for his dish to fill.
He hummed with delight as he ate, quickly emptying the bowl while being careful that his halo remained in place. It simply wouldn’t do to get food all over his precious decoration! When he went to get a drink though, he was shocked to see the water glowing. Glowing?! What in the lands was that? Had that been like that when he’d come in for his food? He couldn’t remember... He debated going back to wake either mama or Uncle, but the light seemed rather harmless. It was just really bright. Really.. really bright. He squinted red eyes as he got closer to it. Well, he couldn’t reach it with his arms, so he would have to bite it... What if it hurt him? Well, he would have to risk it! He had to at the very least make sure it was okay to go show mama! He would never forgive himself if he let this light harm her in any way.
With a determined growl, he tromped back over to the water bowl and glared into the light. He growled at it, gave the bowl a tap, walked around it, threw a piece of food at it, and otherwise observed the new object. It did nothing more than sit there... Well, it was certainly boring enough, aside from the glowiness. Maybe one of the lights from a lamp or the ceiling had fallen into his bowl? He looked around, but nothing seemed out of place. Taking a deep breath, he dipped his head in to grab the lit object. He only vaguely noticed that he was spilling water onto the floor as he passed out, a wave of heat washing over him.

Child Stage; Reaction To Changes:
Waking up with a great big yawn, Cephas sighed contently and snuggled further into his pillow. He was so cozy... He didn’t want to get up yet. Yawning again, he stretched and rolled, stretching his arms up over- over... his.... head? Brow knitting with confusion, eyes still closed, he reached and patted the top of his head. No, that couldn’t be his head; there was hair! It must be mama’s, or Uncle Roger’s. Besides, he couldn’t reach that high on himself! He finally blinked his eyes open, frowning when he saw he was alone. He was in uncle’s room though. Why-? Very slowly, he looked up to figure out what he’d been touching... Hands? Who did those belong to?!
He twirled to get his legs under him, searching for the owner of those hands, but he only yelped when his legs tangled in the sheets and sent him tumbling to the floor. He reached to push the sheets away, with.. the arms.. Those were his?! How-?! What-?! He had fingers! Arms! Elbows! And... his legs! They were long! Flinging the sheets away, he felt a little comfort at seeing he still had his cranidos feet, but still... they were on human legs! He gave them a few experimental kicks, and grinned. He had long legs! And long arms! Oh, goodness, his arms.... He couldn’t stop staring at them, turning and flexing and stretching the limbs in awe.
If all that had changed, then what else? Slowly, he raised his hands to his face, feeling around the new features there. A smaller mouth, a human nose, still had his horns, and he did have hair! He ruffled the long strands curiously. Hair... He wasn’t sure how he felt about the hair. It was different... but so was everything else!
Finally, he tried standing. He was so tall!!! He almost felt dizzy once he was upright, but he soon found his balance. Now that he was up, he started laughing. It all felt like a dream! It must be a dream! He could touch his head, and reach down to his toes! He could walk from one side of the room to the other in just a few steps! He could reach the door handle! With a squeak of delight, he yanked the door open and ran out. “Cran! Dos!” he hollered excitedly, before his legs tangled, sending him flailing to the floor. He laid there stunned, trying to work his limbs again when he heard the running feet, and then the sharp squeal. He looked up to a concerned Josie, and simply gave her a big smile. “Mama!” Oh! He’d actually said it in the human way!
He was almost immediately scooped up into Josie’s arms, gasping slightly from how tight she squeezed. “Mama!” He cocked his head to smile at her again, but paused. Josie looked happy, but... something else as well...
Josie hugged her new little boy tightly, partly in joy, and partly in concern. It was amazing to see Cephas like this, and she was relieved that he’d finally woken up, but... this changed everything. She knew how to take care of pokemon, but a child? What would she do? She’d been talking it over with her brother all morning, since they’d woken up and found Cephas unconscious in the kitchen. She still didn’t know... It was frustrating, but... “I’ll take care of you, Cephas. I promise,” she whispered, petting his new locks of hair.

Child Stage; Skill Learned! ‘Focus Energy’
Uncle Roger had been talking to him for a while now about getting stronger. Apparently, even though he was a pokehuman now, he could still use his abilities and get stronger! While Cephas wasn’t much for fighting, he did like the idea of having the abilities if he needed them. After all, he had mama to protect! The question was, how did a pokehuman train? Would it be different from training a full pokemon?
When Josie was at classes, Roger took the boy out into the back yard. “Okay, Cephas. I’m not gonna make you fight anything. I know you don’t want to, and Josie would kill me. Nope. We’re going to go with plain old practice.” In the back yard was Roger’s hobby; piles of wood that would become carvings. Some were completed, some were in progress, and others were just stacks of wood, waiting for their turn. He walked over to the fresh wood and rapped a knuckle against one log. “We can start with these. This pile is getting low, I went out and got more yesterday, but it’s in the back of the truck. Why don’t you help me carry it back here? Get those muscles going, eh?”
So, the next hour was spent with the two of them walking back and forth, carrying the trunks of wood from the truck to the back pile. Roger was sweating by the end, but Cephas seemed unfazed. “That was fun!” he announced gleefully, gulping down his cup of lemonade. “I wanna carry more!” After a minute of Roger thinking, Cephas was led into the woods to an ara where Roger sometimes collected wood himself.
“I cut this tree down the day before, but it’s rotted in the middle. I can’t use it, but you can. Just.. drag it around the clearing or something.” Roger sat back down to continue his own break.
Surprisingly delighted by the idea, Cephas carefully took off his precious wings and halo. Carrying the cut wood hadn’t been a problem, but this had the potential to get dirty! The log was at least twice as long as he was, and a little bigger around than he was. Grinning, he grabbed one end with both hands, and dragged it around as he was told. Leaving trails in the ground, he started making swirl patterns for fun. However, he was out of ground to ‘draw’ on soon enough, and quickly thought up something else to do. He could help knock down trees for carving! Spinning, he looked for a good, solid tree. Ah! That one! It was definitely bigger around than he was. It would make a big statue!
Aiming, Cephas crouched down, darted forward, and attacked the trunk with a headbutt; though, it made only a tiny dent in the sturdy tree.
“Whoa! Take it easy!” Roger watched the spectacle with a wince. At least the kid was determined, but no way... Besides, if the kid hurt himself, Josie would blame him! “Why don’t you focus more somewhere else?”
Cephas glanced back at Roger with a big smile. “I’mma get you a big tree!” After a couple more headbutts, he was starting to feel the ache in his body. What could he do...? Focus more, like Uncle Roger said! He just had to focus! Pausing a moment, Cephas closed his eyes and took a long, deep breath. He could feel the energy growing! Dark red eyes opened with a twinkle. He was going to get it this time! Crouching down, he charged forward, headbutting the dented trunk. There was a loud crack, and the large tree toppled over.
Roger jumped up with his jaw slack. “How the heck did you do that?!”
Cephas grinned. “Like ya told me! I focused!”
Roger scratched his head, thinking back on what he’d studied on Cranidos abilities. Focused... “Well, kid. Looks like you learned your focus energy ability. Nice job.”

Child Stage; AIM PD- Cephas meets Will (and Will's tail)
There was an audible thrum coming from the shop onto the street outside. It poured through the cracks in the doorway like mist, that exploded the ear drums in righteous rock beats. Seeing as it was a Sunday afternoon, the shop itself was empty and with one lone worker milling about, there was really only one choice. Will sat at the drum kit, tapping out a rhythm so fine that her tail was even calm. For once the snapping appendage was lulled into a quiet swaying motion completely out of fashion with the music the teenager was playing. She played near the back of the store, where the equipment was sold. At first she hesitated because Will didn't want to scare off any customers, but at this point the place was dead anyway, so why not?
Cephas had just taken a delightful trip to the bakery. Josie had allowed him to go all by himself, and he was skipping down the sidewalk with a little bag stuff with cookies. He was even eating one quite contently. He looked into the windows of the shops he passed, and when he passed by the music store, he couldn't help stopping for a moment. He could hear a beat coming from inside, and he looked at the sign. If he was reading right, it was a music store! Was that a radio or someone playing? Since he had time, he knocked pointlessly on the door before entering. "Hi!" he called out, looking around. Instruments all around, and the beat coming from the back. Walking around, still chewing the cookie, he peeked around a corner to see the drum kit and its player. "Hi!" he called again with a smile.
There was no way Will could have heard the arrival of a new patron over the booming kick drum. The longer she played, the more she became lost in the rhythm. Usually by this point Llyr or Phee would have been subtly telling her to knock it off.
When she looked up her groove died instantly. With her hands still crossed, mid tap, Will paused for a moment to watch the kid before leaning back on the drum kit's stool. "Hey, sorry I didn't hear you." There was a little flush to her cheeks, as if the whole situation embarrassed her to the core. Her voice didn't betray a lick of it, though. "Can I help you find something?”
Cephas grinned wider, stepping out into the clearing. "It's okay!" Swinging his little bag around, he shook his head. "No. I heard you playing outside. You can keep playing! It's cool!" He walked closer and touched one of the drums. "You sound really good!"
Outside? Definitely not a good thing. She was insanely lucky no one had come in on that one and reprimanded her. This kid seemed pretty cool, though, even if he did wear a halo. Maybe that was just his thing. She embodied a male, so to each their own, right?
"Do you play any instruments?" Reaching around, Will placed her own signature drum sticks in her tails waiting mouth. IT was a preemptive measure; hopefully it would be too preoccupied with the sticks to take a bite out of the kid.
Brow rising, Cephas shook his head. "No, but I want to! Uncle Roger says an instrument would give him a headache." He perked up happily. "I get to be my own instrument! I sing! Mama says I sing real good, and Uncle Roger doesn't get headaches." He experimentally tapped on the top of one of the drums, head cocking at the sound. "I bet you're real good at this! How long did it take you to learn?"
Will kicked back, stretching her long legs out past the kick drum, spike boots tipped towards the ceiling. "Oh yeah? That's pretty cool. The singing bit, not the giving your Uncle headaches part." She was pretty sure that Bethanne had been given more than her fair share of headaches in the years that Will had been bipedal.
"Can't remember." Will shrugged. "I started when I was a little younger than you are, and I just never stopped. Music takes root in your soul, and when you feel it resonate, it never leaves."
Cephas smiled excitedly. He wasn't often told that he was cool! As he took in the employee's outfit, he cocked his head slightly. He couldn't help reaching out to touch the spiked boots. They looked like they hurt, but the teen seemed perfectly comfortable... His soul? A hand rose to touch his chest, and he smiled again. "My soul has music, I bet. How can you tell?"
It was a little weird to have the little dude touch her boot like that, but Will just watched him do it. At least he wasn't calling her any bad names or cursing the youth of today.
Will reached over her drum set and touched his chest with her index finger. "When you sing, does the world around you just feel...brighter? Does it feel right? Like, no matter what happened or will happen, you'll be okay so long as you can sing?" That's how Will felt anyway. The teen had enough drama in her life to contend with, but if she couldn't play....
She would be better off dead.
Tail twitching when the other reached to his chest, he looked down at the contact curiously. Cephas closed his eyes to think back. When he sang... Eyes popping open, he gasped with delight. "Yeah! I'm usually heavy, but I feel light when I sing. And mama says I light up the room, but I don't think there's any more light. I just make sounds."
Nodding sagely, Will sat back with a soft smile. "See? That's what I'm talking about. You should be singing more if you've got the music in you. Otherwise it's just going to build up until - poof- gone for good." Not that she really expected that to happen with this kid. He seemed pretty stoked about the whole singing business, so as long as he did a bit of it now and again the passion would thrive.
Cephas’ eyes widened with a hint of concern. His ability to sing might just poof if he didn’t do it often enough? Mama loved when he sang! “Mama wouldn’t want me to not be able to sing anymore... I’ll sing lots more! I promise!” he assure earnestly, nodding more than needed. What a frightening thought! Did that apply to other skills as well? “Did anything ever poof on you?”
Maybe she shouldn't have worded it quite like that? The talk did its job, though. Will would have been depressed if this kid turned into a pencil pusher if he had any sort of talent. Salary Men were the stuff of nightmares.
She furrowed her brow and thought on it. "I forgot how to cook as well as my sister once I stopped doing it, but-" Will shrugged. "-nothing really important left." Except what chance of a stereotypical gender identity Will might have had to begin with. That was definitely gone, but her music was there to stay. As if sensing the lull in mood, her tail swung around, easily visible thanks to her lanky frame and gave Cephas a wide, eerie grin.
Wow! He would have to practice everything more often! Nodding in understanding, Cephas felt a tiny wave of relief. It was good he knew this now, before he really lost anything. “Thank you.” He was smiling happily, but when the menacing tail suddenly popped into view, Cephas yelped with surprise and jumped a foot backward, knocking over a stand of posters. Spinning again to see what he’d knocked over, his tail swung around and knocked into a display of music stands. He yelped again, turning once more only to trip over his clawed feet to plunk back on his butt. Finally, he just sat still and covered his head with his hands and squeezed his eyes shut. “I’m sorry!!”
"Woah, calm down kid! You break it, you bought it!" With one hand Will reached out over the drum kit, coming short of helping the boy. With the other she put a hand on top of her tail and pushed it back behind her. It didn't like the rough treatment. Only with practiced skill was she able to avoid being bitten.
The calamity just kept getting worse. Will jumped up off the stool, trying to catch the music stands before they fell. She caught a couple, but most landed on the floor. "Sheesh, you act like you've never seen a Girafarig before." Without looking at him, Will started to straighten up. It was only when she had most of the music stands back up that she turned to look at him. The sight had her furrowing her brows. "Hey, it's alright, nothing's busted."
Cephas slowly peeked up from his position warily, watching Will’s body language a moment before uncurling from his ball. “Really? Nothing broken?” He shifted to rest on his knees, giving the grinning tail suspiciously. “A.. gifargig?” he asked slowly, very uncertain of what he’d been told.
Like a creature from the depths of hell, Will's tail slowly turned, as if on a hinge, and stared straight at Cephas. The longer it looked, the wider its grin became, until the ball was virtually no more than teeth and eyes.
"It's a poke'mon." Will supplied in a patronizing tone. "I used to have four hooves and a longer neck." Surely he'd seen one before. Right? It wasn't as if she was a legendary or anything of that sort.
Cephas pushed himself up to stand, and turned to help pick up the posters. Still, he kept one wary eye on the tail, cheeks tinting pink with embarrassment. “I.. never saw one...” Well, he honestly didn’t know what to think now! The teen seemed nice enough, but the tail sure was scary! Brow rising, he looked back up at the teen and smiled. “I know! Uncle Roger’s friends say I don’t know nuthin’ because I came from a rock, and mama’s a ditz! I bet that’s I I’ve never seen one of them!” He had no idea what a ditz was, but he certainly did come from a rock! Or, fossil. Or... something. But maybe that would help the teen feel better!
Willemina opened her mouth, closed it, and opened it again with furrowed brows. "You came...from a rock and your mom is a ditz?" The way she said it was slow and methodical. Skeptical, at best. She wasn't sure if his kind of poke'mon really did come from rocks or if someone was just making fun of the poor kid.
Either way, that wouldn't solve the problem of his mom being a ditz.
After a while she shrugged and just rolled with it. "Yeah, sure...sounds likely." Kids these days were just getting weird and weirder.
Well, the teen seemed to accept that explanation. ...Maybe he would finally have to ask mama what a ditz was.. He wasn’t fond of his uncle’s friends, but they could still be right. “I’ve seen one now, so I should be okay.” He encouraged further. Stepping slowly back from the posters, he turned to face the teen again. “I.. should go, so I don’t actually break anything. I’m glad I got to meet you! ..even with your scary tail.” As though walking through a mine field, he carefully made his way back to the front door. Once out, he let out a heavy sigh of relief. He should probably avoid going back in there for a bit...
Willemina shook her head, drawing a hand through what bit of hair she had. The kid had seemed pretty relaxed at first, but he was drawn as tight as a guitar string. Maybe it was because of the people who called his mom a ditz? He didn't seem abused, so Will wasn't overly worried about it. Hopefully one day he would learn to chill out and just cut his own path.
He was already doing that in a way just by wearing that get up.
Smiling, she moved about the store and up towards the front desk to finish her shift.

Child Stage; AIM PD- Cephas and the Giant!
Since Riff was busy with work, and Dr. Hewitt had made it clear there was no room for Kyllian at the facility while so much work was happening, the larger Poke'teen made his way out into the town. Rumors of disappearances irked him, especially since Riff and Hewitt were so busy these days, but he didn't pay it much mind. Kyllian knew they were an organization to be triffled with; so, whoever was stupid enough to kidnap people, it surely wasn't them. Their research was too important to screw up by doing something so stupid. Stretching his arms wide over his head, the teenager started to yawn and caught sight of something all together odd. Was that...a Pichu? What was it doing in the road? Frowning, he watched it, noticing how the little poke'mon cradled its bruised arm. Obviously something had picked a fight with it and this was as far as the little thing could get. Too bad for it, since traffic was beginning to pick up. Kyllian didn't think so much as he did react. He ran out into the street, throwing his hands out towards an inbound car. The driver didn't have time to brake, so all they could do was cry out when Kyllian grasped the bumper in one hand and slammed the hood down with the other. The whole thing was traumatic enough to the vehicle that the airbags deployed immediately and a torrent of steam came out of the engine.
Cephas hummed contently to himself as he headed down the sidewalk. Today was a good day to go visit the park, what with mama shopping with friends and Uncle Roger busy with work. Cephas preferred company, but couldn’t complain too much. The park was as much fun alone as with someone.
He was on the opposite side of the street when he saw it happen. It was over before he could even think about it. Gasping, he turned to head into the road for the little Pichu. It looked like it was hurt! But then a much, much larger form jumped in front of the injured pokemon, the car ran into it, and stopped right there. Cephas’ jaw dropped open, but he still hurried out for a closer look at both the pichu and the giant. “Are you okay?” he asked out in general, speaking to both the pokemon and the pokehuman.
When he looked up, he met the gaze of the startled driver head on and winced when the man started to shriek. What are you screaming for? It's over! Granted, Kyllian was still vastly unaware of how intimidating his size made him. At a solid 10'2", with a muscular build, the Tyrantrum was nothing if not monstrous. As he pulled his hand free of the car, Kyllian became aware of the growing crowd and began to feel their eyes on him. As if he didn't bring in enough attention already....
Turning around, Kyllian lowered his gaze to look at the pichu but found a poke'kid there as well. He flexed his hand, only vaguely aware that he'd been cut when he punched through the metal. His body was already a mass of scars, so what would a few more hurt? "Yeah, I'm fine. How's the little guy?" Kyllian's voice was low, gravelly, and sounded more like a vocalized growl than anything. It was something he was trying to work on. Even when he knelt down next to the two he still had to bend over.
Looking down at the pichu, Cephas knelt to give it a closer look. “The car didn’t hurt him. but somethin’ else did.” He frowned slightly, and gently scooped the little pokemon up. When he looked up at the teen, his head had to tip way back to look up enough. Despite how the giant loomed over him, even when kneeling... he wasn’t worried in the least. He was on the shorter side, and he found himself looking up to the tyrantrum literally and figuratively. “Can you help me get him to the pokemon center? Nurse Joy will fix him right up!”
"Sure. D'ya know which way to go?" Kyllian looked around, hoping to see a sign of some sort, but he saw an approaching figure instead...one in a blue uniform, walking away from a motorcycle with a light on it...That's not good. "You know what, on second thought-" Bending over, he scooped both the boy and the pichu up effortlessly before standing to his full height. It didn't take much more to get him jogging away from the scene, which might as well have been a full on run for anyone else.
"Which way do I need to go?"
Cephas beamed happily. “Yeah! I-woah!!” He cradled the pichu firmly as he was scooped up himself! The pichu let out a little squeak of distress as he was squeezed, making Cephas relax his hold a little. Cephas looked around from this new position. Luckily, Kyllian had started jogging in the right direction. “The light ahead. Turn right there.” He looked up at the face above him, and he smiled again. “Mama took me there when I was still a pokemon, and even after I changed to show everyone what happened to me. I like visiting there.”
It took a few direction changes and backtracking to find the road with the pokecenter on it. After all, Cephas was used to going there from his house! Still, the pokecenter came into sight, and he stroked the pichu’s head. “See that? That’s where Nurse Joy is. She’ll take good care of you and help you feel all better.”
Nodding, the giant teenager rushed up to the light, took a wide turn and made a right. Sharp turns at his size only caused collateral damage; that much he had learned so far. "Kid, no one likes visiting poke'centers. That's where you go when you're broken." The trip itself was enough to cause Kyllian to growl in frustration from time to time, but the lad had enough patience not to snap at the boy. The closer he got to the building, the slower Kyllian's pace became until he came to a stop in front of the front doors. Even as tall as they were, he was going to have to duck to enter, and that would have been easier without an armload.
Didn't stop him from trying, though.
Kyllian ducked down, placing his left leg inside first so that when he slipped underneath the door frame he came out standing tall on the other side. The act itself caused quite a stir.
Nurse Joy stepped around the front desk and approached the trio, angling her head back so that she could see them. Her little Chancey helper pushed a stretcher closer, visibly hanging back. "H-how can I help you?"
"Can you fix this?" Kyllian lowered himself into a crouch, holding out the boy as well as the pichu. "The little one-" Kyllian furrowed his brows. "The really little one."
"Oh! Oh my, yes, of course." Turning to Cephas, she held her arms out tenderly, looking to both the boy and the pichu. "May I have him?"
Cephas had pondered the teen’s comment for most of the trip. Putting it that way did make it sound like a not fun place...
He curled up tighter as they shuffled through the front doors, and he giggled softly. “Coulda just put me down. I’m not hurt,” he said lightly, giving Kyllian a smile. It was a fun change though, being carried around. His own body was small, but very dense, and getting carried around didn’t happen often. He looked at Nurse Joy with a bright smile and nodded. “Here.” He set the pokemon into the waiting arms. “You’ll be good as new soon!” he encouraged, waving to the pichu as the nurse took it away.
Looking back up at the large teen, he smiled again. “It’s where we come to get fixed and feel better. They take care of us here. That’s why I like it.”
Kyllian just shrugged. "Coulda, but didn't. Ye'r helpin' me, so I can carry you." It didn't seem that big of a deal to him, but the giggling did bring out a rare smile from the teen. He watched as the nurse took her newest patient away, holding onto the boy far longer than he should have. Almost as if he had forgotten about him entirely, Kyllian jumped out of his daze and sat Cephas back on the floor.
"It's humans. Humans never make anythin' better. They only fix ya so they can use you, and then they break ya when they're finished with you." His tone was firm and embittered. Just being in the poke'center was putting him on edge. The white coats, the influx of humans... the whole thing was just a disaster coated in smiles. "Hey do you...do you always wear those wings? And that halo?" Kyllian gave the little halo a flick with his claw, thankfully barely touching it. Otherwise it might have snapped off. Why was that so familiar....?
Back on his feet, Cephas found himself feeling small again. Well, it had been nice while it had lasted. When he looked up at the teen, his brow knit slightly. “The ones here fix you and make you feel better,” he pouted. Of course, their experiences with humans were utterly opposite...
However, he instantly lit up and turned in a circle to show off his accessories. “Yup! My mama gave them to me when I was a pokemon! I’ve had ‘em forever and ever!” Reaching up, he grabbed one of the large hands with both of his. “Come on. Let’s go back outside. The halo is all shiny in the sun!”
"No. They don't." He pointed out firmly. Kyllian could have let it slide by, but why should he? If he broke this kid’s bubble then maybe he could get out now instead of finding out the hard way. The teen was more than a little surprised when Cephas took his hand, but found himself bending over to follow the boy back out the door. His massive tail swung wide behind him, causing more than a few trainers and poke'mon to jump out of its way.
Kyllian furrowed his brows and looked at the short stack. "Hey, you're that cranidos- your halo broke when you were trick or treating with your trainer. I fixed it." If anything, Kyllian was just impressed by his handiwork. The fact it had stayed together this long was nothing if not amazing.
Cephas only pouted again. “You can meet my mama. She’ll show you. ..but not today. She’s out today.” That would fix things, surely! Never mind how he would ever get the guy over to meet her...
When the teen explained their previous meeting, Cephas looked up at him in confusion. When his halo had broken... He could remember that clearly. He had been devastated. And then the guy in the funny clothes had shown up, and- “Oh? Oh! Ooooooh!” He gasped excitedly, grin spreading further. “You got huge!”
“Whatever you say, kid.” Kyllian didn’t have any faith that meeting his ‘mama’ would change his mind, but pushing it would be a d**k move. Giving a little lop sided grin, he nodded his head and gestured towards his larger frame. “Yeah, well, funny story ‘bout that. I guess I was gonna get big anyway, but a friend of mine gave me something nasty to drink and now…I’m super big.” It was for his own good, he knew that, but Riff could have warned him.
Cephas’ eyes widened even more. “A drink made you huge?!” The idea was mind-boggling. Then again... Cephas laughed. “You’re like Alice from ‘Alice in Wonderland!’ She had foods and drinks to make her change size, too! Do you like being that big?”
"A really nasty one, yeah." It had been...an experience, for sure. One that he wasn't looking forward to repeating. "Alice in...? I guess I do, but I'm not really sure. It made my friend happy, so I guess I like it." The way he shifted, looking uncomfortable by the question told a different story. There were a lot of limitations when you were this big, and he suspected it was only going to get worse when he grew again. Quirking his head, the teen listened to several approaching sirens and knew it was his time to go. "Can you find your way back from here?"
Cephas’ brow knit slightly. Something was conflicting in Kyllian’s words and posture, but he didn’t understand enough to know or interpret what the confliction was. So, he smiled and reached out to pat Kyllian’s leg. “I like you, too. You helped a lot because you’re bigger.” After all, he didn’t think he would have been able to stop a moving car like Kyllian had!
Brow rising now, he sighed sadly. That question meant the visit was over... “Yeah. I know how,” he said with another sigh. Still, looking up at Kyllian, he found a grin rising. “I hope I see you again! Come visit me and mama!”
There was that, he supposed. If he had tried doing that when he was smaller he would have died instantly or gotten them all really, really hurt. He had some scrapped knuckles, but they were well worth it. “Someday.” Kyllian smiled and reached over to ruffle Cephas’ hair, careful of the halo. That wasn’t a promise he could make anytime soon, but the idea had merit. Were there really humans he could trust? Seemed like a load of b.s. but he tried to stay open minded.
When the first squad motorcycle came into view, Kyllian took off at a run, disappearing into the throng of traffic and sidewalkers.

Child Stage; Solo RP 1: Hangin' Out With The Boys
Cephas had been sent to the store. He was supposed to be getting a couple jugs of milk, a bag of flour, and some chocolate chips. He was supposed to be taking them home to Josie so that he could help his trainer bake her wonderfully tasty chocolate chip cookies. He was supposed to be helping her make a big batch of them so that they could be shared at various Halloween parties.
He was supposed to... but he wasn’t.
On his way to the store, Cephas passed the arcade. It was the same arcade that he had passed dozens of times before on his way to the grocery store. It was nothing new, and nothing special. He’d never shown an interest in video games.
He was supposed to be going to the grocery store... but he wasn’t.
Today, he was stopped by the sound of boasting and music. Looking inside the big, open doors, a child slightly older than himself was raising his fists in victory. The boy stood in front of an odd machine, which flashed brightly and sang with victory. What was going on?
Seeing Cephas looking in, one of the crowd gestured to him. “Ain’t seen you here before. Donny there just beat three guys in a row at Street Fighter. Maybe you should give it a go and knock him off his high horse!”
Of course, Donny overheard the conversation that was right next to him, and turned to Cephas and the other boy with a grin. “What? You think this dino is gonna have a chance? He's wearing wings!” Donny leaned down to look at Cephas’ face. Despite his confident posture, the human had a friendly smile. “Well, come on then. Pony up the quarter, if you think you’re brave enough~”
Of course, Cephas had no idea what anyone was talking about... Street Fighter? Fighting wasn’t nice! High horse? There was no horse in sight! Yet, the boy said the magic word... Brave. Being brave had been on Cephas’ mind a lot as of late. He really did want to be brave. He could start here! “I.. I don’t know how to do it,” he said, giving the taller boy a hopeful look. “Will you show me?”
After a hesitation, the boy laughed. “Yeah, sure. Come on. Nothing to it, so long as you know how to press a couple buttons.” Donny guided Cephas over to the machine, and showed the cranidos which controls were his. “When the game starts, mash away. ..Just don’t break it, ‘kay? Whoever loses owes the winner a quarter?”
Cephas nodded, tail swishing with eagerness and delight. He was being shown a game! It only had a stick and two buttons! He could do this! Pushing his own quarter into the slot, he silently prayed that he would still have enough money left for the grocery.... but then the screen flashed, the music rose, and Cephas’ eyes lit up. It was amazing! The thrill of being in control of the character on his side of the screen, watching them interact, finding out what the controls did... He spent more time watching than fighting, and laughed as his character fell down in defeat. “Good job, Donny!” he cheered. He didn’t care that he’d lost. It had been fun!
Unfortunately, Cephas was talked into another game, and then another game.... and then one more. He actually won two of the four. When a tie-breaker was suggested, he caught sight of a clock and gasped sharply. “I gotta go! Mama will be mad! Bye!” He hurried out of the arcade to run at top speed to the store, made his way carefully and respectfully through the aisle and register line, and then buzzed back along the road. Of course, he passed the arcade again on his way. ...Just one more game!

Child Stage; AIM PD- Cephas meets Libitina
Walking alone in the woods wasn't Libby's first choice of hobby. Normally the meowstic would be curled up in her window with a book at this time of day. Instead though she found herself walking along a path that lead to an older part of the forest with a small cemetery. It was cloudy out and the air smelled of rain, but she didn't mind. Today after all was a day to go out and to collect more odd trinkets for her hobby.
CiCi had mentioned some strange place near the forest's edge by the city and so Libby just had to go see it. Maybe I can find something to interest CiCi as well. Now that would be nice, "Meow~" Purring at the thought the meowstic gracefully slipped in between the broken fence links to walk closer.
Oh look there's even one of those big places... What was it called? A mausoleum? It wasn't too big, but it did stand out amongst the old grave sites with creeping ivy and a broken angel out front. The door was open so that anyone could go inside as well. I wonder if they even used it? Her gaze gleamed in interest. It looked unsealed so perhaps the place had been forgotten and the body placed elsewhere?
Only one way to find out...
The cranidos was so excited. Halloween was coming up again! Candy and costumes and decorations and dry leaves! He remembered his first Halloween as clear as day! Cephas loved Halloween, and was on a walk to check out the decorations set up in people’s yards. Some were fun, some were scary, some were simple, and some were elaborate, but all were fun to see! Not paying attention to where he was actually walking, Cephas found himself at the edge of the city. Well, he didn't see any houses to look at, but it was a neat little path into the woods. Maybe he would find some decoration ideas!
By the time he felt the first raindrop hit his nose, Cephas had an armful of sticks and leaves. He looked up at the sky peeking through the trees, eyes widening slightly. He hadn't even noticed the change with all the trees overhead! Oh no! He had his wings on, and they'd get all wet! Dropping his collection, he hurried down the path for town, but ended up going the wrong way. Instead, he found himself at the old gate of a cemetery.
The rain was starting to fall more steadily... He really didn't have another option. Hurrying along the winding paths, the Cranidos made his way to the larger building. Did people live here?! The door was open... It was creepy, but he didn't want his wings to get all wet! Hurrying up the steps, he peered into the darkness. "Um.. hello? Can I come in?"
Trinket, trinket? Meowing softly to herself Libby continued through the gravestones. It only looked like old weeds and some flowers left here and there. Frowning the meowstic kicked lightly at a loose stone before noticing something. Tap, tap...tap. Fat drops of rain had started falling from the sky.
Not eager to get her ribbons wet the girl darted into the first place of cover...the mausoleum. It was dry enough inside and so she found herself crawling up to hide in a corner. It felt better this way, to be hidden in the shadows. Libby was almost ready to doze off when sudden noise caught her attention. Oh?
Someone was here...
Rather than replying the meowstic sat back to watch who was coming inside.
Cephas waited, and heard nothing but the soft echos of the rainfall on the roof. "Hello?" he called once more, just to be sure. It wasn't polite to enter a house without the owner's permission after all, but the door was open... "If anyone's home, I just want to wait until the rain passes..." Stepping into the building, he felt a shiver go up his back. He didn't feel the cold, but something about the place he was in gave him the shivers. He wished mama was there.... or that he was with mama. He stuck close to the door where the most light was, unable to see very far into the darkness. He didn't want to accidentally bump into or break anything.
Curled up in her perch Libby watched as the poke-boy entered the chamber. Halloween already? She smirked as she noticed his cute little wings. It was an adorable touch, she would give him that much. Though his innocent aura made her playful.
How often would she get the chance to play around in a place like this after all? Ever so quietly Libby walked along the top shelves in the shadows until she was hanging over the boy. Ever so softly she whistled eerily before settling back into the shadows again.
Leaning against the doorframe, Cephas watched the rain fall steadily getting heavier. He’d found this place just in time! He sighed with the hope that the rain wouldn’t last for too long. This place was creepy.
And it was only getting creepier.
The rain on the roof and outside drowned out most of the smaller noises, but his head lifted to attention as a soft, eerie whistle sounded. Looking back into the darkness, he hugged a little tighter to the doorframe. “Hello?” he called softly, peering around. Maybe it was just the wind..? Yeah. That had to be it.
Libby had to hide her snicker. While the rains were getting even heavier outside the rolling thunder was still moving in. Oh it's going to be a nice storm indeed. She could only imagine how the ghosts back at her home would be all riled up for it. Storms definitely were a delight~
Looking back to her angel boy Libby smiled. What was in here that she could play with now? Slowly, but surely the spooks strike. Was that a stick? It looked like they weren't the only two to have come inside of here. Reaching over she grabbed at the stick and ever so daintily stretched out the limb to gently brush against the boy's back before slipping back into the shadow.
Hugging his arms to himself, Cephas looked out at the rain again. He usually didn’t mind storms, but, he was also usually at home when they came through. Here, the wind and rain echoed through the stone building, and there were long shadows, and... Cephas forced himself to take a deep breath. It would be fine. It was only-
“Wah!!” He yelped and spun around, an arm twisting around to slap at his back. Something had touched him!! But, as his crimson eyes looked around... nothing was there. His brow knit nervously. Okay... It would be okay...
Libby couldn't help it. His reaction really was just too adorable. A little angel spinning around in a tomb... Shaking her head at the silent laugher the meowstic found her paws slipping from her high perch. And even though she fell, she did fall with a little grace and landed on her paws.
’It’sokayit’sokayit’sokayit’sokaAHHHHH!!!’ Even though the meowstic’s landing was gentle, it still gave him a fright. He spun around again toward the playful voice, and he put his hand over his chest. “Boo?! You coulda said something sooner!” he gasped out.
Still... It was just a pokemon, and looked adorable! A little trickster of some sort. Cephas laughed softly and patted his chest. “Yeah.. Yeah, I’m okay. Are you in here to get out of the rain, too?”
Libby just chuckled, "What would have been the fun in that, meow?" The meowstic sat down on a little ledge and crossed her legs casually. While it had been fun to tease the angel boy, there was only so much she could take the same joke. Her cheshire grin only lit up the room more as lightning flashed over the horizon.
"But since we'll be in here for a bit I decided I would behave." Purring she nodded at his question, "I like the rain, but I didn't feel like a bath today." She shrugged lightly, "So I suppose we can watch this storm together. Better than being alone right, meow?"
Fun? “It wasn’t fun at the time,” he murmured before his smile took over again. “I guess I looked silly~ And it’s okay now.” His heavy tail swayed happily. Despite the fright, he was feeling better now that he had someone here with him. “I like the rain, too. ..I just don’t like getting my clothes wet when a hot bath isn’t right there waiting for me. My mama always makes a hot bath for me if I get wet and cold.” The offer to watch the rain together made him smile. “Sure! We can watch it together.”
"To each their own." Replied Libby ever so sweetly as she settled down in her new spot, "More adorable though, meow." At his comment the meowstic just shook her head, "That's a shame. I suppose the warm bath is nice though."
Nodding at his approval the meowstic curled up to watch the rainstorm. Even though she tended to be a loner this wasn't so bad. As the afternoon passed and the two stayed to watch the rain Libby smiled. Really it wasn't so bad at all.
